ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹ ਕੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਕੋਸ਼ ਅਰਥ ਵੇਖੋ
ਇਛਾਮਨਕੀਪੂਰੀਐਜਪੀਐਸੁਖਸਾਗਰੁ॥
ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਸਿਮਰਨ-ਆਰਾਧਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮਨ ਦੀ (ਹਰੇਕ) ਇੱਛਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਮਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਾਸਨਾਂ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ)।
The desires of the mind are satisfied, meditating on the Ocean of Peace.
इछा मन की पूरीऐ जपीऐ सुख सागरु ॥
ਹਰਿਕੇਚਰਨਅਰਾਧੀਅਹਿਗੁਰਸਬਦਿਰਤਨਾਗਰੁ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਰਤਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਖਾਣ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
Worship and adore the Feet of the Lord, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the jewel mine.
हरि के चरन अराधीअहि गुर सबदि रतनागरु ॥
ਮਿਲਿਸਾਧੂਸੰਗਿਉਧਾਰੁਹੋਇਫਾਟੈਜਮਕਾਗਰੁ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਮਰਾਜ ਦਾ (ਲੇਖੇ ਵਾਲਾ) ਕਾਗਜ਼ ਪਾਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, one is saved, and the Decree of Death is torn up.
मिलि साधू संगि उधारु होइ फाटै जम कागरु ॥
ਜਨਮਪਦਾਰਥੁਜੀਤੀਐਜਪਿਹਰਿਬੈਰਾਗਰੁ॥
ਪਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦੀ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਈਦੀ ਹੈ।
The treasure of this human life is won, meditating on the Lord of Detachment.
जनम पदारथु जीतीऐ जपि हरि बैरागरु ॥
ਸਭਿਪਵਹੁਸਰਨਿਸਤਿਗੁਰੂਕੀਬਿਨਸੈਦੁਖਦਾਗਰੁ੧੪॥॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹੋ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਹੀ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੪॥
Let everyone seek the Sanctuary of the True Guru; let the black spot of pain, the scar of suffering, be erased. ||14||
सभि पवहु सरनि सतिगुरू की बिनसै दुख दागरु ॥१४॥
