ਸੁਘੜੁਸੁਜਾਣੁਸਰੂਪੁਤੂਸਭਮਹਿਵਰਤੰਤਾ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸੁਚੱਜਾ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਤੇ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਹੈਂ, ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ,
You are Wise, all-knowing and beautiful; You are pervading and permeating all.
सुघड़ु सुजाणु सरूपु तू सभ महि वरतंता ॥
ਤੂਆਪੇਠਾਕੁਰੁਸੇਵਕੋਆਪੇਪੂਜੰਤਾ॥
(ਸੋ) ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੇਵਕ ਹੈਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ।
You Yourself are the Lord and Master, and the servant; You worship and adore Yourself.
तू आपे ठाकुरु सेवको आपे पूजंता ॥
ਦਾਨਾਬੀਨਾਆਪਿਤੂਆਪੇਸਤਵੰਤਾ॥
(ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ) ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਚੰਗੇ ਆਚਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
You are all-wise and all-seeing; You Yourself are true and pure.
दाना बीना आपि तू आपे सतवंता ॥
ਜਤੀਸਤੀਪ੍ਰਭੁਨਿਰਮਲਾਮੇਰੇਹਰਿਭਗਵੰਤਾ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰੀ ਭਗਵਾਨ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਤੀ ਹੈਂ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਆਚਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
The Immaculate Lord, my Lord God, is celibate and True.
जती सती प्रभु निरमला मेरे हरि भगवंता ॥
ਸਭੁਬ੍ਰਹਮਪਸਾਰੁਪਸਾਰਿਓਆਪੇਖੇਲੰਤਾ॥
ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ-ਖਿਲਾਰਾ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਖਿਲਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਜਗਤ-ਖੇਡ ਖੇਡ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ।
God spreads out the expanse of the entire universe, and He Himself plays in it.
सभु ब्रहम पसारु पसारिओ आपे खेलंता ॥
ਇਹੁਆਵਾਗਵਣੁਰਚਾਇਓਕਰਿਚੋਜਦੇਖੰਤਾ॥
(ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਜੰਮਣ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਰਚਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਰਚ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ।
He created this coming and going of reincarnation; creating the wondrous play, He gazes upon it.
इहु आवा गवणु रचाइओ करि चोज देखंता ॥
ਤਿਸੁਬਾਹੁੜਿਗਰਭਿਨਪਾਵਹੀਜਿਸੁਦੇਵਹਿਗੁਰਮੰਤਾ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦਾ।
One who is blessed with the Guru's Teachings, is not consigned to the womb of reincarnation, ever again.
तिसु बाहुड़ि गरभि न पावही जिसु देवहि गुर मंता ॥
ਜਿਉਆਪਿਚਲਾਵਹਿਤਿਉਚਲਦੇਕਿਛੁਵਸਿਨਜੰਤਾ॥੪॥
(ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ) ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਖ਼ਤਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੋਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਤੁਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥
All walk as He makes them walk; nothing is under the control of the created beings. ||4||
जिउ आपि चलावहि तिउ चलदे किछु वसि न जंता ॥४॥
