ਬਸੰਤਿਸ੍ਵਰਗਲੋਕਹਜਿਤਤੇਪ੍ਰਿਥਵੀਨਵਖੰਡਣਹ॥
ਜੇ ਸੁਰਗ ਵਰਗੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹੋਣ, ਜੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਲੈਣ,
They may live in heavenly realms, and conquer the nine regions of the world,
बसंति स्वरग लोकह जितते प्रिथवी नव खंडणह ॥
ਬਿਸਰੰਤਹਰਿਗੋਪਾਲਹਨਾਨਕਤੇਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਉਦਿਆਨਭਰਮਣਹ॥੧॥
ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਰੱਖਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਦੇਣ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
but if they forget the Lord of the world, O Nanak, they are just wanderers in the wilderness. ||1||
बिसरंत हरि गोपालह नानक ते प्राणी उदिआन भरमणह ॥१॥
ਕਉਤਕਕੋਡਤਮਾਸਿਆਚਿਤਿਨਆਵਸੁਨਾਉ॥
ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਚੋਜ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ (ਯਾਦ) ਨਾਹ ਰਹੇ,
In the midst of millions of games and entertainments, the Lord's Name does not come to their minds.
कउतक कोड तमासिआ चिति न आवसु नाउ ॥
ਨਾਨਕਕੋੜੀਨਰਕਬਰਾਬਰੇਉਜੜੁਸੋਈਥਾਉ॥੨॥
ਤਾਂ ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਥਾਂ ਉਜਾੜ ਸਮਝੋ, ਉਹ ਥਾਂ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਨਰਕ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
O Nanak, their home is like a wilderness, in the depths of hell. ||2||
