ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਜੰਜਾਲ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰ।
Abandon all your entanglements and corruption; sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord forever.
ਕਰਜੋੜਿਨਾਨਕੁਦਾਨੁਮਾਂਗੈਦੇਹੁਅਪਨਾਨਾਉ॥੨॥੧॥੬॥
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ (ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ) ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ (ਇਹੀ) ਦਾਨ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇਹ ॥੨॥੧॥੬॥
With palms pressed together, Nanak begs for this blessing; please bless me with Your Name. ||2||1||6||

ਪ੍ਰਭਸਮਰਥਦੇਵਅਪਾਰ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼-ਰੂਪ! ਹੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ!
God is all-powerful, divine and infinite.
ਕਉਨੁਜਾਨੈਚਲਿਤਤੇਰੇਕਿਛੁਅੰਤੁਨਾਹੀਪਾਰ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਤੇਰੇ ਚੋਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਸਕਦਾ। ਤੇਰੇ ਚੋਜਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ, ਪਾਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Who knows Your wondrous plays? You have no end or limitation. ||1||Pause||
ਇਕਖਿਨਹਿਥਾਪਿਉਥਾਪਦਾਘੜਿਭੰਨਿਕਰਨੈਹਾਰੁ॥
ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਘੜ ਕੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਭੰਨ ਕੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
In an instant, You establish and disestablish; You create and destroy, O Creator Lord.
ਜੇਤਕੀਨਉਪਾਰਜਨਾਪ੍ਰਭੁਦਾਨੁਦੇਇਦਾਤਾਰ॥੧॥
ਜਿਤਨੀ ਭੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ) ਦਾਨ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
As many beings as You created, God, so many You bless with Your blessings. ||1||
ਹਰਿਸਰਨਿਆਇਓਦਾਸੁਤੇਰਾਪ੍ਰਭਊਚਅਗਮਮੁਰਾਰ॥
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ! ਹੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ! ਹੇ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ! ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ (ਨਾਨਕ) ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।
I have come to Your Sanctuary, Lord; I am Your slave, O Inaccessible Lord God.
ਕਢਿਲੇਹੁਭਉਜਲਬਿਖਮਤੇਜਨੁਨਾਨਕੁਸਦਬਲਿਹਾਰ॥੨॥੨॥੭॥
(ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ) ਔਖੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਲੈ। ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੨॥੭॥
Lift me up and pull me out of the terrifying, treacherous world-ocean; servant Nanak is forever a sacrifice to You. ||2||2||7||

ਮਨਿਤਨਿਬਸਿਰਹੇਗੋਪਾਲ॥
ਹੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਕ! ਤੁਸੀ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਤਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ-
The Lord of the World abides in my mind and body.
ਦੀਨਬਾਂਧਵਭਗਤਿਵਛਲਸਦਾਸਦਾਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਾਈ! ਹੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹੇ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ! ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Friend of the meek, Lover of His devotees, forever and ever merciful. ||1||Pause||
ਆਦਿਅੰਤੇਮਧਿਤੂਹੈਪ੍ਰਭਬਿਨਾਨਾਹੀਕੋਇ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਜਗਤ-ਰਚਨਾ ਦੇ) ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸੀ, (ਜਗਤ ਦੇ) ਅੰਤ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਂਗਾ, ਹੁਣ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ (ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ)। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ (ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਨਹੀਂ।
In the beginning, in the end and in the middle, You alone exist, God; there is none other than You.
ਪੂਰਿਰਹਿਆਸਗਲਮੰਡਲਏਕੁਸੁਆਮੀਸੋਇ॥੧॥
ਇਕ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਵਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
He is totally permeating and pervading all worlds; He is the One and only Lord and Master. ||1||
ਕਰਨਿਹਰਿਜਸੁਨੇਤ੍ਰਦਰਸਨੁਰਸਨਿਹਰਿਗੁਨਗਾਉ॥
ਮੈਂ ਕੰਨ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ (ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ), ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ (ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ) ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
With my ears I hear God's Praises, and with my eyes I behold the Blessed Vision of His Darshan; with my tongue I sing the Lord's Glorious Praises.
ਬਲਿਹਾਰਿਜਾਏਸਦਾਨਾਨਕੁਦੇਹੁਅਪਣਾਨਾਉ॥੨॥੩॥੮॥੬॥੧੪॥
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ) ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ॥੨॥੩॥੮॥੬॥੧੪॥
Nanak is forever a sacrifice to You; please, bless me with Your Name. ||2||3||8||6||14||

ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਧਨਿਧੰਨਿਓਰਾਮਬੇਨੁਬਾਜੈ॥
ਮੈਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬੰਸਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਵੱਜ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ,
Blessed, blessed is that flute which the Lord plays.
ਮਧੁਰਮਧੁਰਧੁਨਿਅਨਹਤਗਾਜੈ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਬੜੀ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਸੁਰ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ-ਰਸ ਗੁੰਜਾਰ ਪਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
The sweet, sweet unstruck sound current sings forth. ||1||Pause||
ਧਨਿਧਨਿਮੇਘਾਰੋਮਾਵਲੀ॥
ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਮੇਢੇ ਦੀ ਉੱਨ ਤੋਂ,
Blessed, blessed is the wool of the sheep;
ਧਨਿਧਨਿਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਓਢੈਕਾਂਬਲੀ॥੧॥
ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਕੰਬਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਪਹਿਨ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
blessed, blessed is the blanket worn by Krishna. ||1||
ਧਨਿਧਨਿਤੂਮਾਤਾਦੇਵਕੀ॥
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ ਦੇਵਕੀ! ਤੈਥੋਂ (ਭੀ) ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ,
Blessed, blessed are you, O mother Dayvakee;
ਜਿਹਗ੍ਰਿਹਰਮਈਆਕਵਲਾਪਤੀ॥੨॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ, ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ (ਜੰਮੇ) ॥੨॥
into your home the Lord was born. ||2||
ਧਨਿਧਨਿਬਨਖੰਡਬਿੰਦ੍ਰਾਬਨਾ॥
ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਜੰਗਲ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਟੋਟਾ, ਉਹ ਬਿੰਦ੍ਰਾਬਨ,
Blessed, blessed are the forests of Brindaaban;
ਜਹਖੇਲੈਸ੍ਰੀਨਾਰਾਇਨਾ॥੩॥
ਜਿੱਥੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਜੀ (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ) ਖੇਡਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
the Supreme Lord plays there. ||3||
ਬੇਨੁਬਜਾਵੈਗੋਧਨੁਚਰੈ॥
ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ) ਬੰਸਰੀ ਵਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਗਾਈਆਂ ਚਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
He plays the flute, and herds the cows;
ਨਾਮੇਕਾਸੁਆਮੀਆਨਦਕਰੈ॥੪॥੧॥
ਤੇ (ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਰ) ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਕੌਤਕ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥
Naam Dayv's Lord and Master plays happily. ||4||1||
ਮੇਰੋਬਾਪੁਮਾਧਉਤੂਧਨੁਕੇਸੌਸਾਂਵਲੀਓਬੀਠੁਲਾਇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਧੋ! ਹੇ ਲੰਮੇ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਸਾਂਵਲੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਬੀਠੁਲ! ਤੂੰ ਧੰਨ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈਂ (ਭਾਵ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਰਾਖਾ ਹੈਂ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
O my Father, Lord of wealth, blessed are You, long-haired, dark-skinned, my darling. ||1||Pause||
ਕਰਧਰੇਚਕ੍ਰਬੈਕੁੰਠਤੇਆਏਗਜਹਸਤੀਕੇਪ੍ਰਾਨਉਧਾਰੀਅਲੇ॥
ਹੇ ਮਾਧੋ! ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਚੱਕਰ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਤੋਂ (ਹੀ) ਆਇਆ ਸੈਂ ਤੇ ਗਜ (ਹਾਥੀ) ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ (ਤੰਦੂਏ ਤੋਂ) ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਬਚਾਈ ਸੀ।
You hold the steel chakra in Your hand; You came down from Heaven, and saved the life of the elephant.
ਦੁਹਸਾਸਨਕੀਸਭਾਦ੍ਰੋਪਤੀਅੰਬਰਲੇਤਉਬਾਰੀਅਲੇ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਸਾਂਵਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਦੁਹਸਾਸਨ ਦੀ ਸਭਾ ਵਿਚ ਜਦੋਂ ਦਰੋਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਬਸਤਰ ਉਤਾਰੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਬਚਾਈ ਸੀ ॥੧॥
In the court of Duhsaasan, You saved the honor of Dropati, when her clothes were being removed. ||1||
ਗੋਤਮਨਾਰਿਅਹਲਿਆਤਾਰੀਪਾਵਨਕੇਤਕਤਾਰੀਅਲੇ॥
ਹੇ ਬੀਠੁਲ! ਗੋਤਮ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਅਹੱਲਿਆ ਨੂੰ (ਜੋ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਸਰਾਪ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਲਾ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਸੀ) ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ; ਹੇ ਮਾਧੋ! ਤੂੰ (ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਪਤਿਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪਵਿਤੱਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਤਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ।
You saved Ahliyaa, the wife of Gautam; how many have You purified and carried across?
ਐਸਾਅਧਮੁਅਜਾਤਿਨਾਮਦੇਉਤਉਸਰਨਾਗਤਿਆਈਅਲੇ॥੨॥੨॥
ਮੈਂ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ (ਭੀ) ਇਕ ਬੜਾ ਨੀਚ ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ (ਮੇਰੀ ਭੀ ਬਾਹੁੜੀ ਕਰ) ॥੨॥੨॥
Such a lowly outcaste as Naam Dayv has come seeking Your Sanctuary. ||2||2||
ਸਭੈਘਟਰਾਮੁਬੋਲੈਰਾਮਾਬੋਲੈ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਰੇ ਘਟਾਂ (ਸਰੀਰਾਂ) ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ,
Within all hearts, the Lord speaks, the Lord speaks.
ਰਾਮਬਿਨਾਕੋਬੋਲੈਰੇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Who else speaks, other than the Lord? ||1||Pause||
ਏਕਲਮਾਟੀਕੁੰਜਰਚੀਟੀਭਾਜਨਹੈਂਬਹੁਨਾਨਾਰੇ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਇਕੋ ਹੀ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਕਈ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਂਡੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
Out of the same clay, the elephant, the ant, and the many sorts of species are formed.
ਅਸਥਾਵਰਜੰਗਮਕੀਟਪਤੰਗਮਘਟਿਘਟਿਰਾਮੁਸਮਾਨਾਰੇ॥੧॥
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹਾਥੀ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕੀੜੀ ਤਕ, ਨਿਰਜਿੰਦ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਅਤੇ ਸਜਿੰਦ ਜੀ, ਕੀੜੇ-ਪਤੰਗੇ-ਹਰੇਕ ਘਟ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਸਮਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
In stationary life forms, moving beings, worms, moths and within each and every heart, the Lord is contained. ||1||
ਏਕਲਚਿੰਤਾਰਾਖੁਅਨੰਤਾਅਉਰਤਜਹੁਸਭਆਸਾਰੇ॥
ਹੋਰ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਛੱਡ, ਇਕ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰ (ਜੋ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ)।
Remember the One, Infinite Lord; abandon all other hopes.
ਪ੍ਰਣਵੈਨਾਮਾਭਏਨਿਹਕਾਮਾਕੋਠਾਕੁਰੁਕੋਦਾਸਾਰੇ॥੨॥੩॥
ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰ ਕੇ) ਨਿਸ਼ਕਾਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਭਿੰਨ-ਭੇਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ ॥੨॥੩॥
Naam Dayv prays, I have become dispassionate and detached; who is the Lord and Master, and who is the slave? ||2||3||
