ਮੇਰੇਮਨਹਰਿਭਜੁਸਭਕਿਲਬਿਖਕਾਟ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ, ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
O my mind, meditate, vibrate on the Lord, and all sins will be eradicated.
ਹਰਿਹਰਿਉਰਧਾਰਿਓਗੁਰਿਪੂਰੈਮੇਰਾਸੀਸੁਕੀਜੈਗੁਰਵਾਟ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਪਰ ਇਹ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਹੀ (ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਮੇਰੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗ ਹੋਣ, ਜੇ) ਮੇਰਾ ਸਿਰ (ਅਜਿਹੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ (ਭੇਟਾ) ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
The Guru has enshrined the Lord, Har, Har, within my heart; I place my head on the Guru's Path. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਰੇਹਰਿਪ੍ਰਭਕੀਮੈਬਾਤਸੁਨਾਵੈਤਿਸੁਮਨੁਦੇਵਉਕਟਿਕਾਟ॥
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੋਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣਾਵੇ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਟੋਟੇ ਟੋਟੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦੇ ਦਿਆਂ।
Whoever tells me the stories of my Lord God, I would cut my mind into slices, and dedicate it to him.
ਹਰਿਸਾਜਨੁਮੇਲਿਓਗੁਰਿਪੂਰੈਗੁਰਬਚਨਿਬਿਕਾਨੋਹਟਿਹਾਟ॥੧॥
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਸੱਜਣ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹੱਟੀ ਹੱਟੀ ਵਿਕਿਆ (ਗੁਲਾਮ) ਬਣ ਚੁਕਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
The Perfect Guru has united me with the Lord, my Friend; I have sold myself at each and every store for the Guru's Word. ||1||
ਮਕਰਪ੍ਰਾਗਿਦਾਨੁਬਹੁਕੀਆਸਰੀਰੁਦੀਓਅਧਕਾਟਿ॥
ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਤਾਂ ਮਾਘ ਦੀ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਾਂਦ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਗ-ਤੀਰਥ ਉਤੇ (ਜਾ ਕੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ, ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਕਾਸ਼ੀ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕਰਵੱਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੁ-ਫਾੜ ਕਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ (ਪਰ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੀ ਗਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ)
One may give donations in charity at Prayaag, and cut the body in two at Benares,
ਬਿਨੁਹਰਿਨਾਮਕੋਮੁਕਤਿਨਪਾਵੈਬਹੁਕੰਚਨੁਦੀਜੈਕਟਿਕਾਟ॥੨॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੁਕਤੀ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ) ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਾ ਸੋਨਾ ਭੀ ਥੋੜਾ ਥੋੜਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਏ ॥੨॥
but without the Lord's Name, no one attains liberation, even though one may give away huge amounts of gold. ||2||
ਹਰਿਕੀਰਤਿਗੁਰਮਤਿਜਸੁਗਾਇਓਮਨਿਉਘਰੇਕਪਟਕਪਾਟ॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਜਸ ਗਾਵਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚਲੇ ਕਿਵਾੜ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹ ਗਏ (ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਈ)।
When one follows the Guru's Teachings, and sings the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, the doors of the mind, held shut by deception, are thrown open again.
ਤ੍ਰਿਕੁਟੀਫੋਰਿਭਰਮੁਭਉਭਾਗਾਲਜਭਾਨੀਮਟੁਕੀਮਾਟ॥੩॥
ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਖਿੱਝ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਵਹਿਮ ਤੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਲੋਕ-ਲਾਜ ਦੀ ਮਟੁਕੀ ਭੀ ਟੁੱਟ ਗਈ (ਜਿਹੜੀ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਸੀ) ॥੩॥
The three qualities are shattered, doubt and fear run away, and the clay pot of public opinion is broken. ||3||
ਕਲਜੁਗਿਗੁਰੁਪੂਰਾਤਿਨਪਾਇਆਜਿਨਧੁਰਿਮਸਤਕਿਲਿਖੇਲਿਲਾਟ॥
ਇਸ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਲੱਭਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਧੁਰੋਂ ਹੀ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
They alone find the Perfect Guru in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, upon whose foreheads such pre-ordained destiny is inscribed.
ਜਨਨਾਨਕਰਸੁਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁਪੀਆਸਭਲਾਥੀਭੂਖਤਿਖਾਟ॥੪॥੬॥ਛਕਾ੧॥
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਅਜਿਹੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਪੀਤਾ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਤ੍ਰੇਹ ਲਹਿ ਗਈ ॥੪॥੬॥ਛਕਾ ੧ ॥

ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਰੇਮਨਟਹਲਹਰਿਸੁਖਸਾਰ॥
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਅਸਲ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ।
O mind, true peace comes from serving the Lord.
ਅਵਰਟਹਲਾਝੂਠੀਆਨਿਤਕਰੈਜਮੁਸਿਰਿਮਾਰ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ (ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ) ਟਹਲਾਂ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹਨ, (ਹੋਰ ਟਹਲਾਂ-ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਾਮਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ) ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਵਾਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Other services are false, and as punishment for them, the Messenger of Death bashes in one's head. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਨਾਮਸਤਕਿਲੀਖਿਆਤੇਮਿਲੇਸੰਗਾਰ॥
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ (ਚੰਗਾ ਭਾਗ) ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ,
They alone join the Sangat, the Congregation, upon whose forehead such destiny is inscribed.
ਸੰਸਾਰੁਭਉਜਲੁਤਾਰਿਆਹਰਿਸੰਤਪੁਰਖਅਪਾਰ॥੧॥
(ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ) ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
They are carried across the terrifying world-ocean by the Saints of the Infinite, Primal Lord God. ||1||
ਨਿਤਚਰਨਸੇਵਹੁਸਾਧਕੇਤਜਿਲੋਭਮੋਹਬਿਕਾਰ॥
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਆਦਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ।
Serve forever at the feet of the Holy; renounce greed, emotional attachment and corruption.
ਸਭਤਜਹੁਦੂਜੀਆਸੜੀਰਖੁਆਸਇਕਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ॥੨॥
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਕੋਝੀ ਆਸ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਹ। ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਆਸ ਰੱਖ ॥੨॥
Abandon all other hopes, and rest your hopes in the One Formless Lord. ||2||
ਇਕਿਭਰਮਿਭੂਲੇਸਾਕਤਾਬਿਨੁਗੁਰਅੰਧਅੰਧਾਰ॥
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਕਈ ਐਸੇ ਬੰਦੇ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਹਨ ਜੋ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਲੋਂ ਉੱਕਾ ਹੀ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Some are faithless cynics, deluded by doubt; without the Guru, there is only pitch darkness.
ਧੁਰਿਹੋਵਨਾਸੁਹੋਇਆਕੋਨਮੇਟਣਹਾਰ॥੩॥
(ਪਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੀ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜੋ ਹੋਣਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਹੋਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਜੀਵ ਮਿਟਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੩॥
Whatever is pre-ordained, comes to pass; no one can erase it. ||3||
ਅਗਮਰੂਪੁਗੋਬਿੰਦਕਾਅਨਿਕਨਾਮਅਪਾਰ॥
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਹਨ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ)।
The beauty of the Lord of the Universe is profound and unfathomable; the Names of the Infinite Lord are innumerable.
ਧਨੁਧੰਨੁਤੇਜਨਨਾਨਕਾਜਿਨਹਰਿਨਾਮਾਉਰਿਧਾਰ॥੪॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥
Blessed, blessed are those humble beings, O Nanak, who enshrine the Lord's Name in their hearts. ||4||1||
ਮਾਲੀਗਉੜਾਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Maalee Gauraa, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਰਾਮਨਾਮਕਉਨਮਸਕਾਰ॥
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
I humbly bow to the Name of the Lord.
ਜਾਸੁਜਪਤਹੋਵਤਉਧਾਰ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਰ-ਸਤਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Chanting it, one is saved. ||1||Pause||
ਜਾਕੈਸਿਮਰਨਿਮਿਟਹਿਧੰਧ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਜੰਜਾਲ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਮਨ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ),
Meditating on Him in remembrance, conflicts are ended.
ਜਾਕੈਸਿਮਰਨਿਛੂਟਹਿਬੰਧ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਫਾਹੀਆਂ ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
Meditating on Him, one's bonds are untied.
ਜਾਕੈਸਿਮਰਨਿਮੂਰਖਚਤੁਰ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਮੂਰਖ ਬੰਦੇ ਭੀ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
Meditating on Him, the fool becomes wise.
ਜਾਕੈਸਿਮਰਨਿਕੁਲਹਉਧਰ॥੧॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੀ ਕੁਲ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ) ॥੧॥
Meditating on Him, one's ancestors are saved. ||1||
ਜਾਕੈਸਿਮਰਨਿਭਉਦੁਖਹਰੈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰੇਕ ਡਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Meditating on Him, fear and pain are taken away.
ਜਾਕੈਸਿਮਰਨਿਅਪਦਾਟਰੈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ (ਹਰੇਕ) ਬਿਪਤਾ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੋਂ) ਟਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
Meditating on Him, misfortune is avoided.
ਜਾਕੈਸਿਮਰਨਿਮੁਚਤਪਾਪ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
Meditating on Him, sins are erased.
ਜਾਕੈਸਿਮਰਨਿਨਹੀਸੰਤਾਪ॥੨॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਂਦਾ ਰਹੁ) ॥੨॥
Meditating on Him, agony is ended. ||2||
ਜਾਕੈਸਿਮਰਨਿਰਿਦਬਿਗਾਸ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
Meditating on Him, the heart blossoms forth.
ਜਾਕੈਸਿਮਰਨਿਕਵਲਾਦਾਸਿ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ (ਭੀ) ਦਾਸੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
Meditating on Him, Maya becomes one's slave.
ਜਾਕੈਸਿਮਰਨਿਨਿਧਿਨਿਧਾਨ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ (ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ, ਮਾਨੋ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਿਧੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ (ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ),
Meditating on Him, one is blessed with the treasures of wealth.
ਜਾਕੈਸਿਮਰਨਿਤਰੇਨਿਦਾਨ॥੩॥
ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਅੰਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ) ॥੩॥
Meditating on Him, one crosses over in the end. ||3||
ਪਤਿਤਪਾਵਨੁਨਾਮੁਹਰੀ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
The Name of the Lord is the Purifier of sinners.
ਕੋਟਿਭਗਤਉਧਾਰੁਕਰੀ॥

ਹਰਿਦਾਸਦਾਸਾਦੀਨੁਸਰਨ॥
ਇਹ ਨਿਮਾਣਾ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ (ਤਾ ਕਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ)।
I am meek; I seek the Sanctuary of the slaves of the Lord's slaves.
ਨਾਨਕਮਾਥਾਸੰਤਚਰਨ॥੪॥੨॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਮੱਥਾ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥

ਐਸੋਸਹਾਈਹਰਿਕੋਨਾਮ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਹੈ (ਜਿਵੇ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ),
This is the sort of helper the Name of the Lord is.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਭਜੁਪੂਰਨਕਾਮ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਪ ਕੇ) ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ। (ਇਸ ਲਈ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ। ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Meditating in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, one's affairs are perfectly resolved. ||1||Pause||
ਬੂਡਤਕਉਜੈਸੇਬੇੜੀਮਿਲਤ॥
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਇਉਂ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਡੁੱਬ ਰਹੇ ਨੂੰ ਬੇੜੀ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ,
It is like a boat to a drowning man.
