ਕਰਿਦਇਆਲੇਹੁਲੜਿਲਾਇ॥
ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੜ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਲੈ।
Be Merciful, and attach me to the hem of Your robe.

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ ॥੧॥
Nanak meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਦੀਨਾਨਾਥਦਇਆਲਮੇਰੇਸੁਆਮੀਦੀਨਾਨਾਥਦਇਆਲ॥
ਹੇ ਗ਼ਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਖਸਮ! ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾ ਨਾਥ! ਹੇ ਦਇਆਲ!
O Merciful Master of the meek, You are my Lord and Master, O Merciful Master of the meek.
ਜਾਚਉਸੰਤਰਵਾਲ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
I yearn for the dust of the feet of the Saints. ||1||Pause||
ਸੰਸਾਰੁਬਿਖਿਆਕੂਪ॥
ਇਹ ਜਗਤ ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਦਾ ਖੂਹ ਹੈ,
The world is a pit of poison,
ਤਮਅਗਿਆਨਮੋਹਤਘੂਪ॥
ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਲੋਂ ਬੇ-ਸਮਝੀ ਦਾ ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨੇਰਾ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਮੋਹ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
filled with the utter darkness of ignorance and emotional attachment.
ਗਹਿਭੁਜਾਪ੍ਰਭਜੀਲੇਹੁ॥
(ਮੇਰੀ) ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜ ਕੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ
Please take my hand, and save me, Dear God.
ਹਰਿਨਾਮੁਅਪੁਨਾਦੇਹੁ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼!
Please bless me with Your Name, Lord.
ਪ੍ਰਭਤੁਝਬਿਨਾਨਹੀਠਾਉ॥
ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
Without You, God, I have no place at all.
ਨਾਨਕਾਬਲਿਬਲਿਜਾਉ॥੨॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰ, ਤੇ, ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ) ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥
Nanak is a sacrifice, a sacrifice to You. ||2||
ਲੋਭਿਮੋਹਿਬਾਧੀਦੇਹ॥
ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਲੋਭ ਵਿਚ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਬੱਝਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ,
The human body is in the grip of greed and attachment.
ਬਿਨੁਭਜਨਹੋਵਤਖੇਹ॥
(ਤੇਰਾ) ਭਜਨ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
Without meditating and vibrating upon the Lord, it is reduced to ashes.
ਜਮਦੂਤਮਹਾਭਇਆਨ॥
(ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਜਮਦੂਤ ਬੜੇ ਡਰਾਉਣੇ (ਲੱਗ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ)।
The Messenger of Death is dreadful and horrible.
ਚਿਤਗੁਪਤਕਰਮਹਿਜਾਨ॥
ਚਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਗੁਪਤ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਕਰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
The recording scribes of the conscious and the unconscious, Chitr and Gupt, know all actions and karma.
ਦਿਨੁਰੈਨਿਸਾਖਿਸੁਨਾਇ॥
ਦਿਨ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਤ (ਇਹ ਭੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੀ) ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦੇ ਕੇ (ਇਹੀ ਕਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਮੰਦ-ਕਰਮੀ ਹਾਂ)
Day and night, they bear witness.
ਨਾਨਕਾਹਰਿਸਰਨਾਇ॥੩॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ ॥੩॥
Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of the Lord. ||3||
ਭੈਭੰਜਨਾਮੁਰਾਰਿ॥
ਹੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!
O Lord, Destroyer of fear and egotism,
ਕਰਿਦਇਆਪਤਿਤਉਧਾਰਿ॥
ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ।
be merciful, and save the sinners.
ਮੇਰੇਦੋਖਗਨੇਨਜਾਹਿ॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਗਿਣੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ।
My sins cannot even be counted.
ਹਰਿਬਿਨਾਕਤਹਿਸਮਾਹਿ॥
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਭੀ ਇਹ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ।
Without the Lord, who can hide them?
ਗਹਿਓਟਚਿਤਵੀਨਾਥ॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਥ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੀ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਹੈ,
I thought of Your Support, and seized it, O my Lord and Master.
ਨਾਨਕਾਦੇਰਖੁਹਾਥ॥੪॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੇਰੀ ਬਾਂਹ) ਫੜ ਲੈ, (ਆਪਣਾ) ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ ॥੪॥
Please, give Nanak Your hand and save him, Lord! ||4||
ਹਰਿਗੁਣਨਿਧੇਗੋਪਾਲ॥
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ! ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਰੱਖਿਅਕ!
The Lord, the treasure of virtue, the Lord of the world,
ਸਰਬਘਟਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ॥
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਸਰੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ!
cherishes and sustains every heart.
ਮਨਿਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਦਰਸਨਪਿਆਸ॥
(ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਤੇਰੀ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤ (ਬਣੀ ਰਹੇ, ਤੇਰੇ) ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ (ਬਣੀ ਰਹੇ),
My mind is thirsty for Your Love, and the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan.
ਗੋਬਿੰਦਪੂਰਨਆਸ॥
ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ) ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ!
O Lord of the Universe, please fulfill my hopes.
ਇਕਨਿਮਖਰਹਨੁਨਜਾਇ॥
ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈਥੋਂ) ਇਕ ਪਲ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਰਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
I cannot survive, even for an instant.
ਵਡਭਾਗਿਨਾਨਕਪਾਇ॥੫॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ (ਤੇਰਾ) ਮਿਲਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
By great good fortune, Nanak has found the Lord. ||5||
ਪ੍ਰਭਤੁਝਬਿਨਾਨਹੀਹੋਰ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ) ਹੋਰ (ਆਸਰਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
Without You, God, there is no other at all.
ਮਨਿਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਚੰਦਚਕੋਰ॥
(ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਹੈ (ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਚਕੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ,
My mind loves You, as the partridge loves the moon,
ਜਿਉਮੀਨਜਲਸਿਉਹੇਤੁ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਛਲੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ,
as the fish loves the water,
ਅਲਿਕਮਲਭਿੰਨੁਨਭੇਤੁ॥
(ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਭੌਰ ਦਾ ਕੌਲ ਫੁੱਲ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ,
as the bee and the lotus cannot be separated.
ਜਿਉਚਕਵੀਸੂਰਜਆਸ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚਕਵੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਰਜ (ਦੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਨ) ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
As the chakvi bird longs for the sun,
ਨਾਨਕਚਰਨਪਿਆਸ॥੬॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ- ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ) ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
so does Nanak thirst for the Lord's feet. ||6||
ਜਿਉਤਰੁਨਿਭਰਤਪਰਾਨ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜੁਆਨ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਖਸਮ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
As the young bride places the hopes of her life in her husband,
ਜਿਉਲੋਭੀਐਧਨੁਦਾਨੁ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਲਾਲਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਧਨ-ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ (ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ),
as the greedy person looks upon the gift of wealth,
ਜਿਉਦੂਧਜਲਹਿਸੰਜੋਗੁ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਦੁੱਧ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
as milk is joined to water,
ਜਿਉਮਹਾਖੁਧਿਆਰਥਭੋਗੁ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਜਨ (ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ),
as food is to the very hungry man,
ਜਿਉਮਾਤਪੂਤਹਿਹੇਤੁ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
and as the mother loves her son,
ਹਰਿਸਿਮਰਿਨਾਨਕਨੇਤ॥੭॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਭਾਈ) ਤਿਵੇਂ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ (ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ) ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ ॥੭॥
so does Nanak constantly remember the Lord in meditation. ||7||
ਜਿਉਦੀਪਪਤਨਪਤੰਗ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਬੱਝੇ) ਭੰਬਟ ਦੀਵੇ ਉਤੇ ਡਿੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ,
As the moth falls into the lamp,
ਜਿਉਚੋਰੁਹਿਰਤਨਿਸੰਗ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚੋਰ ਝਾਕਾ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਚੋਰੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
as the thief steals without hesitation,
ਮੈਗਲਹਿਕਾਮੈਬੰਧੁ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹਾਥੀ ਦਾ ਕਾਮ-ਵਾਸਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਹੈ,
as the elephant is trapped by its sexual urges,
ਜਿਉਗ੍ਰਸਤਬਿਖਈਧੰਧੁ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦਾ) ਧੰਧਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਸੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
as the sinner is caught in his sins,
ਜਿਉਜੂਆਰਬਿਸਨੁਨਜਾਇ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜੁਆਰੀਏ ਦੀ (ਜੂਆ ਖੇਡਣ ਦੀ) ਭੈੜੀ ਆਦਤ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ,
as the gambler's addiction does not leave him,
ਹਰਿਨਾਨਕਇਹੁਮਨੁਲਾਇ॥੮॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਤਿਵੇਂ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਇਸ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ) ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖੀਂ ॥੮॥
so is this mind of Nanak's attached to the Lord. ||8||
ਕੁਰੰਕਨਾਦੈਨੇਹੁ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹਰਨ ਦਾ ਘੰਡੇਹੇੜੇ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
As the deer loves the sound of the bell,
ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕੁਚਾਹਤਮੇਹੁ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਪੀਹਾ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਮੀਂਹ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ;
and as the song-bird longs for the rain,
ਜਨਜੀਵਨਾਸਤਸੰਗਿ॥
(ਤਿਵੇਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਸੇਵਕ ਦਾ (ਸੁਖੀ) ਜੀਵ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ) ਹੈ,
the Lord's humble servant lives in the Society of the Saints,
ਗੋਬਿਦੁਭਜਨਾਰੰਗਿ॥
ਸੇਵਕ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਨੂੰ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ,
lovingly meditating and vibrating upon the Lord of the Universe.
ਰਸਨਾਬਖਾਨੈਨਾਮੁ॥
(ਆਪਣੀ) ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ
My tongue chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਨਾਨਕਦਰਸਨਦਾਨੁ॥੯॥
ਨਾਨਕ! (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ (ਮੰਗਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੯॥
Please bless Nanak with the gift of the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||9||
ਗੁਨਗਾਇਸੁਨਿਲਿਖਿਦੇਇ॥
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਕੇ, ਸੁਣ ਕੇ, ਲਿਖ ਕੇ (ਇਹ ਦਾਤ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ) ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
One who sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and hears them, and writes them,
ਸੋਸਰਬਫਲਹਰਿਲੇਇ॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਰੇ ਫਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
receives all fruits and rewards from the Lord.
ਕੁਲਸਮੂਹਕਰਤਉਧਾਰੁ॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਆਪਣੀਆਂ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਦਾ (ਹੀ) ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਕਰਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
He saves all his ancestors and generations,
ਸੰਸਾਰੁਉਤਰਸਿਪਾਰਿ॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
and crosses over the world-ocean.
ਹਰਿਚਰਨਬੋਹਿਥਤਾਹਿ॥
(ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਣ ਲਈ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਜਹਾਜ਼ (ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਦੇਂਦੇ) ਹਨ,
The Lord's Feet are the boat to carry him across.
ਮਿਲਿਸਾਧਸੰਗਿਜਸੁਗਾਹਿ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, he sings the Praises of the Lord.
ਹਰਿਪੈਜਰਖੈਮੁਰਾਰਿ॥
ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
The Lord protects his honor.
ਹਰਿਨਾਨਕਸਰਨਿਦੁਆਰਿ॥੧੦॥੨॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੦॥੨॥
Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of the Lord's door. ||10||2||
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁਮਹਲਾ੧ਥਿਤੀਘਰੁ੧੦ਜਤਿ॥
ਰਾਗ ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ, ਘਰ ੧੦ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ 'ਥਿਤੀ', ਜਤਿ ਦੀ ਤਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਗਾਵਣੀ।

ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਏਕਮਏਕੰਕਾਰੁਨਿਰਾਲਾ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ)। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਘਰ ਨਹੀਂ।

ਅਮਰੁਅਜੋਨੀਜਾਤਿਨਜਾਲਾ॥
ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਮਰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਜਾਤਿ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਆਦਿਕ ਦਾ) ਕੋਈ ਬੰਧਨ ਨਹੀਂ (ਵਿਆਪਦਾ)।
immortal, unborn, beyond social class or involvement.
ਅਗਮਅਗੋਚਰੁਰੂਪੁਨਰੇਖਿਆ॥
ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਸ ਤਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ, (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ।
He is inaccessible and unfathomable, with no form or feature.
ਖੋਜਤਖੋਜਤਘਟਿਘਟਿਦੇਖਿਆ॥
ਪਰ ਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੇਖ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
