ਸੂਹੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Soohee, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਰਹਣੁਨਪਾਵਹਿਸੁਰਿਨਰਦੇਵਾ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ) ਦੈਵੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ, ਦੇਵਤੇ (ਅਖਵਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਇਥੇ) ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਟਿਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦੇ।
The angelic beings and demi-gods are not permitted to remain here.
ਊਠਿਸਿਧਾਰੇਕਰਿਮੁਨਿਜਨਸੇਵਾ॥੧॥
(ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ) ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਮੁਨੀ (ਅਖਵਾ ਗਏ, ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਾਰੀ) ਚਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਰਹੇ ॥੧॥
The silent sages and humble servants also must arise and depart. ||1||
ਜੀਵਤਪੇਖੇਜਿਨੑੀਹਰਿਹਰਿਧਿਆਇਆ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ (ਸਫਲ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਹੀ) ਵੇਖੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Only those who meditate on the Lord, Har, Har, are seen to live on.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿਤਿਨੑੀਦਰਸਨੁਪਾਇਆ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, they obtain the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan. ||1||Pause||
ਬਾਦਿਸਾਹਸਾਹਵਾਪਾਰੀਮਰਨਾ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸ਼ਾਹ, ਵਾਪਾਰੀ, ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ (ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖ਼ਰ) ਮਰਨਾ ਹੈ।
Kings, emperors and merchants must die.
ਜੋਦੀਸੈਸੋਕਾਲਹਿਖਰਨਾ॥੨॥
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ (ਇਥੇ) ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਨੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
Whoever is seen shall be consumed by death. ||2||
ਕੂੜੈਮੋਹਿਲਪਟਿਲਪਟਾਨਾ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਨੁੱਖ ਝੂਠੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
Mortal beings are entangled, clinging to false worldly attachments.
ਛੋਡਿਚਲਿਆਤਾਫਿਰਿਪਛੁਤਾਨਾ॥੩॥
ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ) ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਤਦੋਂ ਪਛੁਤਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
And when they must leave them behind, then they regret and grieve. ||3||
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਿਧਾਨਨਾਨਕਕਉਕਰਹੁਦਾਤਿ॥
ਹੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ (ਇਹ) ਦਾਤ ਦੇਹ (ਕਿ)
O Lord, O treasure of mercy, please bless Nanak with this gift,
ਨਾਮੁਤੇਰਾਜਪੀਦਿਨੁਰਾਤਿ॥੪॥੮॥੧੪॥
ਮੈਂ (ਨਾਨਕ) ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੮॥੧੪॥
that he may chant Your Name, day and night. ||4||8||14||

Soohee, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਘਟਘਟਅੰਤਰਿਤੁਮਹਿਬਸਾਰੇ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
You dwell deep within the heart of each and every being.
ਸਗਲਸਮਗ੍ਰੀਸੂਤਿਤੁਮਾਰੇ॥੧॥
(ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀਆਂ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਦੇ ਧਾਗੇ ਵਿਚ (ਪ੍ਰੋਤੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ) ਹਨ ॥੧॥
The entire universe is strung on Your Thread. ||1||
ਤੂੰਪ੍ਰੀਤਮਤੂੰਪ੍ਰਾਨਅਧਾਰੇ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈਂ।
You are my Beloved, the Support of my breath of life.
ਤੁਮਹੀਪੇਖਿਪੇਖਿਮਨੁਬਿਗਸਾਰੇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਸਾਡਾ) ਮਨ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Beholding You, gazing upon You, my mind blossoms forth. ||1||Pause||
ਅਨਿਕਜੋਨਿਭ੍ਰਮਿਭ੍ਰਮਿਭ੍ਰਮਿਹਾਰੇ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਤੈਥੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕ ਭਟਕ ਕੇ ਥੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Wandering, wandering, wandering through countless incarnations, I have grown so weary.
ਓਟਗਹੀਅਬਸਾਧਸੰਗਾਰੇ॥੨॥
ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ (ਤੇਰੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
Now, I hold tight to the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||2||
ਅਗਮਅਗੋਚਰੁਅਲਖਅਪਾਰੇ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਜੋ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਤਕ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ, ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ,
You are inaccessible, incomprehensible, invisible and infinite.
ਨਾਨਕੁਸਿਮਰੈਦਿਨੁਰੈਨਾਰੇ॥੩॥੯॥੧੫॥
(ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਨਾਨਕ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥੯॥੧੫॥
Nanak remembers You in meditation, day and night. ||3||9||15||
ਸੂਹੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Soohee, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਕਵਨਕਾਜਮਾਇਆਵਡਿਆਈ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਿਲੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਭੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ,
What is the use of the glory of Maya?
ਜਾਕਉਬਿਨਸਤਬਾਰਨਕਾਈ॥੧॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਰਤਾ ਚਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ ॥੧॥
It disappears in no time at all. ||1||
ਇਹੁਸੁਪਨਾਸੋਵਤਨਹੀਜਾਨੈ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਹ (ਜਗਤ ਇਉਂ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਸੁਪਨਾ (ਹੁੰਦਾ) ਹੈ, (ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿਚ) ਸੁੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਇਹ) ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ (ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਤੇ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।
This is a dream, but the sleeper does not know it.
ਅਚੇਤਬਿਵਸਥਾਮਹਿਲਪਟਾਨੈ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਾਲੀ) ਗ਼ਾਫ਼ਲ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿਚ (ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਨਾਲ) ਚੰਬੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
In his unconscious state, he clings to it. ||1||Pause||
ਮਹਾਮੋਹਿਮੋਹਿਓਗਾਵਾਰਾ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
The poor fool is enticed by the great attachments of the world.
ਪੇਖਤਪੇਖਤਊਠਿਸਿਧਾਰਾ॥੨॥
ਪਰ ਵੇਂਹਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਂਹਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ (ਇਥੋਂ) ਉਠ ਕੇ ਤੁਰ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
Gazing upon them, watching them, he must still arise and depart. ||2||
ਊਚਤੇਊਚਤਾਕਾਦਰਬਾਰਾ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਜਪ) ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਉੱਚੇ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੈ।
The Royal Court of His Darbaar is the highest of the high.
ਕਈਜੰਤਬਿਨਾਹਿਉਪਾਰਾ॥੩॥
ਉਹ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਭੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਪੈਦਾ ਭੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
He creates and destroys countless beings. ||3||
ਦੂਸਰਹੋਆਨਾਕੋਹੋਈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹ ਅਜੇ ਤਕ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਹੀ (ਅਗਾਂਹ ਨੂੰ) ਹੋਵੇਗਾ,
There has never been any other, and there shall never be.
ਜਪਿਨਾਨਕਪ੍ਰਭਏਕੋਸੋਈ॥੪॥੧੦॥੧੬॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੧੬॥
O Nanak, meditate on the One God. ||4||10||16||

ਸਿਮਰਿਸਿਮਰਿਤਾਕਉਹਉਜੀਵਾ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।
Meditating, meditating in remembrance on Him, I live.
ਚਰਣਕਮਲਤੇਰੇਧੋਇਧੋਇਪੀਵਾ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨ ਧੋ ਧੋ ਕੇ (ਨਿੱਤ) ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
I wash Your Lotus Feet, and drink in the wash water. ||1||
ਸੋਹਰਿਮੇਰਾਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
He is my Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਭਗਤਜਨਾਕੈਸੰਗਿਸੁਆਮੀ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਮੇਰਾ ਉਹ ਹਰੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
My Lord and Master abides with His humble devotees. ||1||Pause||
ਸੁਣਿਸੁਣਿਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਨਾਮੁਧਿਆਵਾ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ (ਇਹ) ਸੁਣ ਕੇ (ਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ) ਨਾਮ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ (ਹੈ,) ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ) ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
Hearing, hearing Your Ambrosial Naam, I meditate on it.
ਆਠਪਹਰਤੇਰੇਗੁਣਗਾਵਾ॥੨॥
ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥
Twenty-four hours a day, I sing Your Glorious Praises. ||2||
ਪੇਖਿਪੇਖਿਲੀਲਾਮਨਿਆਨੰਦਾ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਕੌਤਕ ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ
Beholding, beholding Your divine play, my mind is in bliss.
ਗੁਣਅਪਾਰਪ੍ਰਭਪਰਮਾਨੰਦਾ॥੩॥
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
Your Glorious Virtues are infinite, O God, O Lord of supreme bliss. ||3||
ਜਾਕੈਸਿਮਰਨਿਕਛੁਭਉਨਬਿਆਪੈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ,
Meditating in remembrance on Him, fear cannot touch me.
ਸਦਾਸਦਾਨਾਨਕਹਰਿਜਾਪੈ॥੪॥੧੧॥੧੭॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੧੭॥
Forever and ever, Nanak meditates on the Lord. ||4||11||17||
ਸੂਹੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Soohee, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਗੁਰਕੈਬਚਨਿਰਿਦੈਧਿਆਨੁਧਾਰੀ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
Within my heart, I meditate on the Word of the Guru's Teachings.
ਰਸਨਾਜਾਪੁਜਪਉਬਨਵਾਰੀ॥੧॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਜਪਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
With my tongue, I chant the Chant of the Lord. ||1||
ਸਫਲਮੂਰਤਿਦਰਸਨਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਦਰਸਨ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
The image of His vision is fruitful; I am a sacrifice to it.
ਚਰਣਕਮਲਮਨਪ੍ਰਾਣਅਧਾਰੀ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਕੋਮਲ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
His Lotus Feet are the Support of the mind, the Support of the very breath of life. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿਜਨਮਮਰਣਨਿਵਾਰੀ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਮੈਂ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਮੁਕਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ,
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the cycle of birth and death is ended.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਕਥਾਸੁਣਿਕਰਨਅਧਾਰੀ॥੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ (ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥
To hear the Ambrosial Sermon is the support of my ears. ||2||
ਕਾਮਕ੍ਰੋਧਲੋਭਮੋਹਤਜਾਰੀ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ (ਆਦਿਕ) ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
I have renounced sexual desire, anger, greed and emotional attachment.
ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁਨਾਮਦਾਨੁਇਸਨਾਨੁਸੁਚਾਰੀ॥੩॥
ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ, ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨੀ, ਆਚਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਰੱਖਣਾ-ਇਹ ਮੈਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਈ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
I have enshrined the Naam within myself, with charity, true cleansing and righteous conduct. ||3||
ਕਹੁਨਾਨਕਇਹੁਤਤੁਬੀਚਾਰੀ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ ਭੀ) ਇਹ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲੈ,
Says Nanak, I have contemplated this essence of reality;
ਰਾਮਨਾਮਜਪਿਪਾਰਿਉਤਾਰੀ॥੪॥੧੨॥੧੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੧੮॥
chanting the Name of the Lord, I am carried across. ||4||12||18||
ਸੂਹੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Soohee, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਲੋਭਿਮੋਹਿਮਗਨਅਪਰਾਧੀ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਣਹਾਰ ਜੀਵ ਲੋਭ ਵਿਚ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
The sinner is absorbed in greed and emotional attachment.
