ਖਿਨੁਰਹਨੁਨਪਾਵਉਬਿਨੁਪਗਪਾਗੇ॥
ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਪੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
I cannot survive, even for an instant, without the feet of my Beloved.
ਹੋਇਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁਪ੍ਰਭਮਿਲਹਸਭਾਗੇ॥੩॥
(ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਸਖੀ!) ਜੇ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗਣ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਾਂ ॥੩॥
When God becomes Merciful, I become fortunate, and then I meet Him. ||3||
ਭਇਓਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁਸਤਸੰਗਿਮਿਲਾਇਆ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Becoming Merciful, He has united me with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation.
ਬੂਝੀਤਪਤਿਘਰਹਿਪਿਰੁਪਾਇਆ॥
ਮੇਰੀ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਤਪਸ਼ ਮਿਟ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
The fire has been quenched, and I have found my Husband Lord within my own home.
ਸਗਲਸੀਗਾਰਹੁਣਿਮੁਝਹਿਸੁਹਾਇਆ॥
ਹੁਣ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ (ਉੱਦਮ) ਸੋਹਣੇ ਲੱਗ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
I am now adorned with all sorts of decorations.
ਕਹੁਨਾਨਕਗੁਰਿਭਰਮੁਚੁਕਾਇਆ॥੪॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
Says Nanak, the Guru has dispelled my doubt. ||4||
ਜਹਦੇਖਾਤਹਪਿਰੁਹੈਭਾਈ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਜਿਧਰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
Wherever I look, I see my Husband Lord there, O Siblings of Destiny.
ਖੋਲਿੑਓਕਪਾਟੁਤਾਮਨੁਠਹਰਾਈ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉਦੂਜਾ॥੫॥
(ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਭਰਮ ਦਾ ਪਰਦਾ ਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਟਿਕ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ॥੫॥
When the door is opened, then the mind is restrained. ||1||Second Pause||5||

Soohee, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਕਿਆਗੁਣਤੇਰੇਸਾਰਿਸਮੑਾਲੀਮੋਹਿਨਿਰਗੁਨਕੇਦਾਤਾਰੇ॥
ਮੈਂ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਨ ਦੇ ਹੇ ਦਾਤਾਰ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੇਹੜੇ ਕੇਹੜੇ ਗੁਣ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਵਾਂ?
What virtues and excellences of Yours should I cherish and contemplate? I am worthless, while You are the Great Giver.
ਬੈਖਰੀਦੁਕਿਆਕਰੇਚਤੁਰਾਈਇਹੁਜੀਉਪਿੰਡੁਸਭੁਥਾਰੇ॥੧॥
(ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਮੁੱਲ-ਖ਼ਰੀਦਿਆ ਸੇਵਕ ਹਾਂ) ਮੁੱਲ-ਖ਼ਰੀਦਿਆ ਨੌਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਚਲਾਕੀ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ। (ਹੇ ਦਾਤਾਰ! ਮੇਰਾ) ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਇਹ ਜਿੰਦ ਸਭ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
I am Your slave - what clever tricks could I ever try? This soul and body are totally Yours||1||
ਲਾਲਰੰਗੀਲੇਪ੍ਰੀਤਮਮਨਮੋਹਨਤੇਰੇਦਰਸਨਕਉਹਮਬਾਰੇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਹੇ ਚੋਜੀ ਲਾਲ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ! ਹੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ! ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
O my Darling, Blissful Beloved, who fascinates my mind - I am a sacrifice to the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭੁਦਾਤਾਮੋਹਿਦੀਨੁਭੇਖਾਰੀਤੁਮੑਸਦਾਸਦਾਉਪਕਾਰੇ॥
(ਹੇ ਦਾਤਾਰ!) ਤੂੰ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਕੰਗਾਲ ਮੰਗਤਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰਬਾਨੀਆਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
O God, You are the Great Giver, and I am just a poor beggar; You are forever and ever benevolent.
ਸੋਕਿਛੁਨਾਹੀਜਿਮੈਤੇਹੋਵੈਮੇਰੇਠਾਕੁਰਅਗਮਅਪਾਰੇ॥੨॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਮਾਲਕ! ਕੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋ (ਤੇਰੀ ਮਦਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਮੈਥੋਂ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ ॥੨॥
I cannot accomplish anything by myself, O my Unapproachable and Infinite Lord and Master. ||2||
ਕਿਆਸੇਵਕਮਾਵਉਕਿਆਕਹਿਰੀਝਾਵਉਬਿਧਿਕਿਤੁਪਾਵਉਦਰਸਾਰੇ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਕੇਹੜੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਾਂ? ਮੈਂ ਕੀਹ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਕਰਾਂ? ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਾਂ?
What service can I perform? What should I say to please You? How can I gain the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan?
ਮਿਤਿਨਹੀਪਾਈਐਅੰਤੁਨਲਹੀਐਮਨੁਤਰਸੈਚਰਨਾਰੇ॥੩॥
ਤੇਰੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦਾ, ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ। ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਏ ਰਹਿਣ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
Your extent cannot be found - Your limits cannot be found. My mind longs for Your Feet. ||3||
ਪਾਵਉਦਾਨੁਢੀਠੁਹੋਇਮਾਗਉਮੁਖਿਲਾਗੈਸੰਤਰੇਨਾਰੇ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਢੀਠ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ, ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦਾਨ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਰਹੇ।
I beg with persistence to receive this gift, that the dust of the Saints might touch my face.
ਜਨਨਾਨਕਕਉਗੁਰਿਕਿਰਪਾਧਾਰੀਪ੍ਰਭਿਹਾਥਦੇਇਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ॥੪॥੬॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਜਿਸ ਦਾਸ ਉਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ) ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੪॥੬॥
The Guru has showered His Mercy upon servant Nanak; reaching out with His Hand, God has delivered him. ||4||6||
ਸੂਹੀਮਹਲਾ੫ਘਰੁ੩॥
ਰਾਗ ਸੂਹੀ, ਘਰ ੩ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ।
Soohee, Fifth Mahalaa, Third House:
ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਸੇਵਾਥੋਰੀਮਾਗਨੁਬਹੁਤਾ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਹ ਮੂਰਖ ਕੰਮ ਤਾਂ ਥੋੜਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਇਵਜ਼ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਹੈ।
His service is insignificant, but his demands are very great.
ਮਹਲੁਨਪਾਵੈਕਹਤੋਪਹੁਤਾ॥੧॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤਾਂ ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ, ਪਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ) ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
He does not obtain the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, but he says that he has arrived there||1||
ਜੋਪ੍ਰਿਅਮਾਨੇਤਿਨਕੀਰੀਸਾ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੀਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਸਤਕਾਰ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਚੁਕੇ ਹਨ।
He competes with those who have been accepted by the Beloved Lord.
ਕੂੜੇਮੂਰਖਕੀਹਾਠੀਸਾ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਇਹ ਹੈ) ਝੂਠੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਠ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
This is how stubborn the false fool is! ||1||Pause||
ਭੇਖਦਿਖਾਵੈਸਚੁਨਕਮਾਵੈ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਝੂਠਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਧਰਮੀ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਨਿਰੇ) ਭੇਖ ਵਿਖਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
He wears religious robes, but he does not practice Truth.
ਕਹਤੋਮਹਲੀਨਿਕਟਿਨਆਵੈ॥੨॥
ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਿਤੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਿਆ ॥੨॥
He says that he has found the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, but he cannot even get near it. ||2||
ਅਤੀਤੁਸਦਾਏਮਾਇਆਕਾਮਾਤਾ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਵੇਖ ਮੂਰਖ ਦੀ ਹਠ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ! ਇਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ) ਤਿਆਗੀ ਅਖਵਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ) ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He says that he is unattached, but he is intoxicated with Maya.
ਮਨਿਨਹੀਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਕਹੈਮੁਖਿਰਾਤਾ॥੩॥
(ਇਸ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ) ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ) ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ ॥੩॥
There is no love in his mind, and yet he says that he is imbued with the Lord. ||3||
ਕਹੁਨਾਨਕਪ੍ਰਭਬਿਨਉਸੁਨੀਜੈ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੁਣ!
Says Nanak, hear my prayer, God:
ਕੁਚਲੁਕਠੋਰੁਕਾਮੀਮੁਕਤੁਕੀਜੈ॥੪॥
(ਜੀਵ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ-ਜੋਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਹ) ਮੰਦ-ਕਰਮੀ ਹੈ, ਨਿਰਦਈ ਹੈ, ਵਿਸ਼ਈ ਹੈ (ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਤੇਰਾ) ਹੈ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ॥੪॥
I am silly, stubborn and filled with sexual desire - please, liberate me! ||4||
ਦਰਸਨਦੇਖੇਕੀਵਡਿਆਈ॥
(ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਇਹ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਸਕੀਏ।
I gaze upon the glorious greatness of the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan.
ਤੁਮੑਸੁਖਦਾਤੇਪੁਰਖਸੁਭਾਈ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉਦੂਜਾ॥੧॥੭॥
ਹੇ ਪੁਰਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ-ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ॥੧॥੭॥
You are the Giver of Peace, the Loving Primal Being. ||1||Second Pause||1||7||

Soohee, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਬੁਰੇਕਾਮਕਉਊਠਿਖਲੋਇਆ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੰਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ (ਤਾਂ) ਛੇਤੀ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੋ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
He gets up early, to do his evil deeds,
ਨਾਮਕੀਬੇਲਾਪੈਪੈਸੋਇਆ॥੧॥
ਪਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ (ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲੇ) ਲੰਮੀਆਂ ਤਾਣ ਕੇ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਬੇ-ਪਰਵਾਹ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥
but when it is time to meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, then he sleeps. ||1||
ਅਉਸਰੁਅਪਨਾਬੂਝੈਨਇਆਨਾ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਬੇਸਮਝ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਸਲ ਮੌਕਾ ਹੈ (ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ)
The ignorant person does not take advantage of the opportunity.
ਮਾਇਆਮੋਹਰੰਗਿਲਪਟਾਨਾ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
He is attached to Maya, and engrossed in worldly delights. ||1||Pause||
ਲੋਭਲਹਰਿਕਉਬਿਗਸਿਫੂਲਿਬੈਠਾ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਅੰਦਰ ਉੱਠ ਰਹੀ) ਲੋਭ ਦੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ (ਮਾਇਕ ਲਾਭ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਤੇ) ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਫੁੱਲ ਬੈਠਦਾ ਹੈ,
He rides the waves of greed, puffed up with joy.
ਸਾਧਜਨਾਕਾਦਰਸੁਨਡੀਠਾ॥੨॥
ਕਦੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ (ਭੀ) ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ॥੨॥
He does not see the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of the Holy. ||2||
ਕਬਹੂਨਸਮਝੈਅਗਿਆਨੁਗਵਾਰਾ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅਸਲ ਭਲੇ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ) ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ,
The ignorant clown will never understand.
ਬਹੁਰਿਬਹੁਰਿਲਪਟਿਓਜੰਜਾਰਾ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਧੰਧਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਰੁੱਝਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Again and again, he becomes engrossed in entanglements. ||1||Pause||
ਬਿਖੈਨਾਦਕਰਨਸੁਣਿਭੀਨਾ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਵਿਸ਼ੇ-ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਕੰਨੀਂ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He listens to the sounds of sin and the music of corruption, and he is pleased.
ਹਰਿਜਸੁਸੁਨਤਆਲਸੁਮਨਿਕੀਨਾ॥੩॥
ਪਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣਨੋਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਲਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
His mind is too lazy to listen to the Praises of the Lord. ||3||
ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਨਾਹੀਰੇਪੇਖਤਅੰਧੇ॥
ਹੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ! ਤੂੰ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ (ਕਿਉਂ) ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ,
You do not see with your eyes - you are so blind!
ਛੋਡਿਜਾਹਿਝੂਠੇਸਭਿਧੰਧੇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲੇ) ਧੰਧੇ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ (ਆਖ਼ਰ ਇਥੋਂ) ਚਲਾ ਜਾਏਂਗਾ? ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
You shall have to leave all these false affairs. ||1||Pause||
ਕਹੁਨਾਨਕਪ੍ਰਭਬਖਸਕਰੀਜੈ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ।
Says Nanak, please forgive me, God.
