ਅਨੁਜਤਨੁਜਕਹਿਸਸਤ੍ਰਕਹੁਨਾਮਬਾਨਲਖਿਰਾਖੁ॥੧੨੨॥
'ਤਨੁਜ' (ਪੁੱਤਰ) ਅਤੇ 'ਸਸਤ੍ਰ' ਪਦ ਕਥਨ ਕਰੋ। (ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ) ਬਾਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਮਝ ਲਵੋ ॥੧੨੨॥
Uttering the words “Narak-Nivaaran, Agh-haran and Kripa-Sindhu” and then adding the words “Anuj, Tanuj and Shastar” in serial order, the names of baan are obtained.122.
ਬਿਘਨਹਰਨਬਿਆਧਨਿਦਰਨਪ੍ਰਿਥਮਯਸਬਦਬਖਾਨ॥
'ਬਿਘਨ ਹਰਨ' ਅਤੇ 'ਬਿਆਧਨਿ ਦਰਨ' (ਰੋਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਹੋ।
ਅਨੁਜਤਨੁਜਕਹਿਸਸਤ੍ਰਕਹੁਨਾਮਬਾਨਜੀਅਜਾਨ॥੧੨੩॥
ਫਿਰ 'ਅਨੁਜ', 'ਤਨੁਜ' ਕਹਿ ਕੇ 'ਸਸਤ੍ਰ' ਕਥਨ ਕਰੋ। (ਇਹ ਸਭ) ਬਾਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਜਾਣ ਲਵੋ ॥੧੨੩॥
Uttering the words “Vighan-Haran and Vyadhi-dalan” and then adding the words “Anuj, Tanuj and Shastar” in serial order, the names of Baan are known.123.
ਮਕਰਕੇਤੁਕਹਿਮਕਰਧੁਜਪੁਨਿਆਯੁਧਪਦੁਦੇਹੁ॥
'ਮਕਰ ਕੇਤੁ' (ਅਥਵਾ) 'ਮਕਰ ਧੁਜ' ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ 'ਆਯੁਧ' ਪਦ ਜੋੜੋ।
ਸਭੈਨਾਮਸ੍ਰੀਬਾਨਕੇਚੀਨਚਤੁਰਚਿਤਿਲੇਹੁ॥੧੨੪॥
(ਇਹ) ਸਾਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਾਣ ਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਬੁੱਧੀਮਾਨੋ! ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਲਵੋ ॥੧੨੪॥
Uttering the words “Makarketu and Makardhvaj” and then adding the word “Aayudh”, the wise people know all the names of Baan.124.
ਪੁਹਪਧਨੁਖਅਲਿਪਨਚਕੇਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੈਨਾਮਬਖਾਨ॥
'ਪੁਹਪ ਧਨੁਖ' (ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਵਾਲਾ, ਕਾਮਦੇਵ) 'ਅਲਿ ਪਨਚ' (ਭੌਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਚਿਲੇ ਵਾਲਾ, ਕਾਮਦੇਵ) ਨਾਮ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਹੋ।
ਆਯੁਧਬਹੁਰਿਬਖਾਨੀਐਜਾਨੁਨਾਮਸਭਬਾਨ॥੧੨੫॥
ਫਿਰ 'ਆਯੁਧ' ਪਦ ਕਥਨ ਕਰੋ, ਇਹ ਬਾਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ ॥੧੨੫॥
Uttering the words “Pushpdhanva, Bhramar and Pinaak” and then adding the word “Aayudh”, all the names of Baan are known.125.

ਬਿਸਿਖ, ਬਿਸੀ (ਵਿਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ) 'ਬਾਸੀ ਧਰਨ' (ਕਾਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ) (ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ) ਬਾਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਜਾਣ ਲਵੋ ॥੧੨੭॥
Shri Saarang, Beerhaa, Balhaa, Bisikh, Bisi etc. are known as the names of Baan.127.
ਬਿਖਕੇਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੇਨਾਮਕਹਿਧਰਪਦਬਹੁਰੌਦੇਹੁ॥
'ਬਿਖ' ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਨਾਮ ਲਵੋ, ਫਿਰ 'ਧਰ' ਪਦ ਜੋੜੋ।
ਨਾਮਸਕਲਸ੍ਰੀਬਾਨਕੇਚਤੁਰਚਿਤਿਲਖਿਲੇਹੁ॥੧੨੮॥
(ਇਹ) ਸਾਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਾਣ ਦੇ ਹਨ। ਚਤੁਰੋ! ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਣ ਲਵੋ ॥੧੨੮॥
Uttering primarily the names of “Vish” and then adding the word “Dhar”, all the names of Baan are known.128.
ਸਕਲਸਿੰਧੁਕੇਨਾਮਲੈਤਨੈਸਬਦਕੌਦੇਹੁ॥
ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ 'ਤਨੈ' (ਤਨਯ, ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਵਿਸ਼) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਜੋੜੋ।
ਧਰਪਦਬਹੁਰਬਖਾਨੀਐਨਾਮਬਾਨਲਖਿਲੇਹੁ॥੧੨੯॥
ਮਗਰੋਂ 'ਧਰ' ਪਦ ਕਥਨ ਕਰੋ। ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਬਾਣ ਦੇ ਜਾਣ ਲਵੋ ॥੧੨੯॥
Naming all the oceans and then adding the word “Tanai” and afterwards the word “Dhar”, the names of Baan are understood.129.
ਉਦਧਿਸਿੰਧੁਸਰਿਤੇਸਜਾਕਹਿਧਰਬਹੁਰਿਬਖਾਨ॥
'ਉਦਧਿ' (ਸਮੁੰਦਰ) 'ਸਿੰਧੁ', 'ਸਰਿਤੇਸ' (ਨਦੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਸਮੁੰਦਰ) ਆਦਿ ਕਹਿਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਿਛੋਂ 'ਜਾ' ਅਤੇ 'ਧਰ' ਪਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਥਨ ਕਰੋ।
ਬੰਸੀਧਰਕੇਨਾਮਸਭਲੀਜਹੁਚਤੁਰਪਛਾਨ॥੧੩੦॥
(ਇਹ) ਸਾਰ ਨਾਮ 'ਬੰਸੀਧਰ' (ਬਾਂਸ ਦੀ ਕਾਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਾਣ) ਦੇ ਹਨ। ਚਤੁਰੋ! ਸਮਝ ਲਵੋ ॥੧੩੦॥
Uttering the words “Udadhi, Sindhu, Sarteshwar” and then adding the word “Dhar”, the wise people know the names of Baan (Vanshidhar).130.
ਬਧਨਾਸਨੀਬੀਰਹਾਬਿਖਬਿਸਖਾਗ੍ਰਜਬਖਾਨ॥
ਬਧ, ਨਾਸਨੀ, ਬੀਰਹਾ, ਬਿਖ, ਬਿਸਖਾਗ੍ਰਜ (ਬਾਣ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਲਗਣ ਵਾਲੀ, ਵਿਸ਼) (ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ) ਦਾ ਕਥਨ ਕਰੋ।
ਧਰਪਦਬਹੁਰਿਬਖਾਨੀਐਨਾਮਬਾਨਕੇਮਾਨ॥੧੩੧॥
ਫਿਰ 'ਧਰ' ਪਦ ਦਾ ਕਥਨ ਕਰੋ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਮੰਨ ਲਵੋ ॥੧੩੧॥
Uttering the words “Baddh, Naashinin, Beerhaa, Vish, Biskhagraj” and then adding the word “Dhar”, the names of Baan are known.131.
ਸਭਮਨੁਖਨਕੇਨਾਮਕਹਿਹਾਪਦਬਹੁਰੋਦੇਹੁ॥
ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ, ਫਿਰ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ) 'ਹਾ' ਪਦ ਜੋੜੋ।
ਸਕਲਨਾਮਸ੍ਰੀਬਾਨਕੇਚਤੁਰਚਿਤਿਲਖਿਲੇਹੁ॥੧੩੨॥
(ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਾਣ ਦੇ ਹਨ। ਵਿਦਵਾਨੋ! ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਣ ਲਵੋ ॥੧੩੨॥
Uttering the names of all men and then adding the word “Ha”, the wise people know all the names of Baan.132.
ਕਾਲਕੂਟਕਹਿਕਸਟਕਰਿਸਿਵਕੰਠੀਅਹਿਉਚਾਰਿ॥
ਕਾਲਕੂਟ, ਕਸਟਕਰਿ, ਸ਼ਿਵਕੰਠੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਹਿ (ਸੱਪ) ਨਾਲ
ਧਰਪਦਬਹੁਰਿਬਖਾਨੀਐਜਾਨੁਬਾਨਨਿਰਧਾਰ॥੧੩੩॥
'ਧਰ' ਪਦ ਜੋੜਨ ਨਾਲ, ਬਾਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੩੩॥
Speaking the word “Kaalkoot”, then uttering the words “Kashtkari, Shivkanthi and Ahi” and then adding the word “Dhar”, the names of Baan are known.133.
ਸਿਵਕੇਨਾਮਉਚਾਰਿਕੈਕੰਠੀਪਦਪੁਨਿਦੇਹੁ॥
(ਪਹਿਲਾਂ) ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ 'ਕੰਠੀ' ਅਤੇ 'ਧਰ' ਪਦ ਜੋੜ ਦਿਓ।
ਪੁਨਿਧਰਸਬਦਬਖਾਨੀਐਨਾਮਬਾਨਲਖਿਲੇਹੁ॥੧੩੪॥
(ੱਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਬਾਣ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਮਝ ਲਵੋ ॥੧੩੪॥
After saying the word “Shiv”, then adding the words Kanthi and Dhar in serial ordeer, the names of Baan can be described.134.
ਬਿਆਧਿਬਿਖੀਮੁਖਿਪ੍ਰਿਥਮਕਹਿਧਰਪਦਬਹੁਰਿਬਖਾਨ॥
'ਬਿਆਧਿ', 'ਬਿਖੀ ਮੁਖਿ' ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ, ਫਿਰ 'ਧਰ' ਪਦਾ ਦਾ ਕਥਨ ਕਰੋ।
ਨਾਮਸਭੈਏਬਾਨਕੇਲੀਜੋਚਤੁਰਪਛਾਨ॥੧੩੫॥
(ਇਹ) ਸਾਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਾਣ ਦੇ ਹਨ। ਚਤੁਰ (ਵਿਅਕਤੀਓ!) ਪਛਾਣ ਲਵੋ ॥੧੩੫॥
After saying the words “Vyaadhi and Vidhimukh” in the beginning and then adding “Dhar”, the wise people recognize all the names of Baan.135.
ਖਪਰਾਨਾਲਿਕਧਨੁਖਸੁਤਲੈਸੁਕਮਾਨਜਨਾਉ॥
ਖਪਰਾ, ਨਾਲਿਕ (ਨਾਲੀ ਵਾਲਾ) ਧਨੁਖ ਸੁਤ, ਕਮਾਨਜ,
ਸਕਰਕਾਨਨਰਾਚਭਨਿਧਰਸਭਸਰਕੇਗਾਉ॥੧੩੬॥
ਸਕਰ ਧਰ (ਸਰਕੰਡਾ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ) ਕਾਨ ਧਰ (ਕਾਨੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ) ਅਤੇ ਨਰਾਚ (ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ) ਬਾਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਹਨ ॥੧੩੬॥
Making the bow of the words “Khapra (Khaprail), Nalak, Shanush, Satya etc. and pulling upto the ear, with the hands, those which are discharged, they are the weapons of the brotherhood of Baan.136.
ਬਾਰਿਦਜਿਉਬਰਸਤਰਹੈਜਸੁਅੰਕੁਰਜਿਹਹੋਇ॥
(ਜੋ) ਬਦਲ ਵਾਂਗ ਵਸਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ (ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ) ਯਸ਼ ਦੀ ਖੇਤੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
That which rains like the cloud and whose creation is “Yash” though it is not the cloud,
ਬਾਰਿਦਸੋਬਾਰਿਦਨਹੀਤਾਹਿਬਤਾਵਹੁਕੋਇ॥੧੩੭॥
ਬਦਲ ਵਾਂਗ ਜਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ (ਬਾਰਿਦ) ਦਸੋ, ਉਹ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ? (ਉੱਤਰ-ਬਾਣ) ॥੧੩੭॥
Yet it is like the cloud someone may give its name and that is the cloud.137.
ਬਿਖਧਰਬਿਸੀਬਿਸੋਕਕਰਬਾਰਣਾਰਿਜਿਹਨਾਮ॥
ਬਿਖਧਰ, ਬਿਸੀ, ਬਿਸੋਕਕਰ (ਸ਼ੋਕ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ) ਬਾਰਣਾਰਿ (ਹਾਥੀ ਦਾ ਵੈਰੀ)
That whose names are “Vishdhar, Vishayee, Shok-Karrak, Karunari etc. it is called Baan
ਨਾਮਸਬੈਸ੍ਰੀਬਾਨਕੇਲੀਨੇਹੋਵਹਿਕਾਮ॥੧੩੮॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਹਨ। (ਇਹ) ਸਾਰੇ ਬਾਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਕੰਮ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੩੮॥
By naming it, all tasks are fulfilled.138.
ਅਰਿਬੇਧਨਛੇਦਨਲਹ੍ਯੋਬੇਦਨਕਰਜਿਹਨਾਉ॥
(ਜੋ) ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ 'ਬੇਦਨ ਕਰ' (ਪੀੜਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਹੈ।
Though it is know by the names “Arivedhan and Arichhedan”, its name is “Vednaakar”
ਰਛਕਰਨਅਪਨਾਨਕੀਪਰੋਦੁਸਟਕੇਗਾਉ॥੧੩੯॥
(ਉਹ) ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ (ਗਾਉਂ, ਸਥਾਨ) ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੩੯॥
That Baan (arrow) protects its people and rains on the villages of he tyrants.139.
ਜਦੁਪਤਾਰਿਬਿਸਨਾਧਿਪਅਰਿਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਾਤਕਜਿਹਨਾਮ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਦੁਪਤਾਰਿ (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਵੈਰੀ) ਬਿਸਨਾਧਿਪ ਅਰਿ, ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਾਂਤਕ ਹੈ।
ਸਦਾਹਮਾਰੀਜੈਕਰੋਸਕਲਕਰੋਮਮਕਾਮ॥੧੪੦॥
ਉਹ (ਬਾਣ) ਸਦਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿਤ ਕਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸੰਵਾਰੇ ॥੧੪੦॥
Thy enemy of Krishna, the Lord of Yadavas, whose names are “Vishnadhipatiari and Krishnanatak”, O Baan! You may ever bring victory to us and fulfil all our tasks.140.
ਹਲਧਰਸਬਦਬਖਾਨਿਕੈਅਨੁਜਉਚਰਿਅਰਿਭਾਖੁ॥
'ਹਲਧਰ' ਸ਼ਬਦ (ਪਹਿਲਾਂ) ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ 'ਅਨੁਜ' (ਛੋਟਾ ਭਾਈ) ਅਤੇ 'ਅਰਿ' ਪਦ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰੋ,
ਸਕਲਨਾਮਸ੍ਰੀਬਾਨਕੇਚੀਨਿਚਤੁਰਚਿਤਰਾਖੁ॥੧੪੧॥
(ਇਹ) ਸਾਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਾਣ ਦੇ ਹਨ। ਚਤੁਰੋ! ਸੋਚ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲਵੋ ॥੧੪੧॥
After speaking the word “Haldhar”, then adding Anuj and afterwards saying “Ari”, the wise people know all the names of Baan.141.
ਰਉਹਣਾਯਮੁਸਲੀਹਲੀਰੇਵਤੀਸਬਲਰਾਮ॥
'ਰਉਹਣਾਯ' (ਰੋਹਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਜਨਮਿਆ, ਬਲਰਾਮ) ਮੁਸਲੀ, ਹਲੀ, ਰੇਵਤੀਸ (ਰੇਵਤੀ ਦਾ ਪਤੀ, ਬਲਰਾਮ) ਬਲਰਾਮ (ਆਦਿ ਸ਼ਬਦ) ਉਚਾਰ ਕੇ,
ਅਨੁਜਉਚਰਿਪੁਨਿਅਰਿਉਚਰਿਜਾਨੁਬਾਨਕੇਨਾਮ॥੧੪੨॥

ਤਾਲਕੇਤੁਲਾਗਲਿਉਚਰਿਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਾਗ੍ਰਜਪਦਦੇਹੁ॥

ਫਿਰ 'ਅਨੁਜ' ਅਤੇ 'ਅਰਿ' ਸ਼ਬਦ ਉਚਾਰੋ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਣ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਮਝ ਲਵੋ ॥੧੪੪॥
