ਹਠਵੰਤਬ੍ਰਤੀਰਿਖਿਅਤ੍ਰਸੂਅੰ॥੩੫੬॥
ਹਠ ਵਾਲੇ, ਬ੍ਰਤ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਤ੍ਰੀ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੇ (ਅਜਿਹਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ) ॥੩੫੬॥
His now was perfect and the body distinctive he was persistent, vow-observing and like the son of sage Atri.356.
ਅਵਿਲੋਕਿਸਰੰਕਰਿਧਿਆਨਜੁਤੰ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਣ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਜਟਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਠੀ
ਰਹਿਰੀਝਜਟੀਹਠਵੰਤਬ੍ਰਤੰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਤ ਧਾਰੀ (ਦੱਤ ਮੁਨੀ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਰੀਝ ਪਏ।
The sage Dutt seeing his arrows and meditation, was greatly pleased
ਗੁਰੁਮਾਨਿਸਪੰਚਦਸ੍ਵੋਪ੍ਰਬਲੰ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪੰਦ੍ਰਵਾਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੰਨ ਲਿਆ।
ਹਠਛਾਡਿਸਬੈਤਿਨਪਾਨਪਰੰ॥੩੫੭॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਹਠ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਪੈਰੀ ਪੌਣਾ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੩੫੭॥
Adopting him his fifteenth Guru and leaving all his persistence he accepted him as his redeemer.357.
ਇਮਿਨਾਹਸੌਜੋਨਰਨੇਹਕਰੈ॥
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ('ਨਾਹ') ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰੇ,
ਭਵਧਾਰਅਪਾਰਹਿਪਾਰਪਰੈ॥
ਤਾਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਗਰ ਦੀ ਅਥਾਹ ਧਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਗਾ।
In this way, whosoever loves the Lord, he crosses this infinite ocean of existence
ਤਨਕੇਮਨਕੇਭ੍ਰਮਪਾਸਿਧਰੇ॥
ਤਨ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਭਰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਸੇ ਰਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਕਰਿਪੰਦ੍ਰਸਵੋਗੁਰੁਪਾਨਪਰੇ॥੩੫੮॥
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਪੰਦ੍ਰਵਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਪਏ ॥੩੫੮॥
Removing the illusions of his body ad mind, Dutt fell down at the feet of his Fifteenth Guru in this way.358.

(ਦੱਤ ਨੇ) ਮੁਖ ਉਤੇ ਵਿਭੂਤੀ (ਮਲੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ)
ਸੁਭਸੋਭਤਚੇਲਕਸੰਗਨਰੰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਭਗਵਾ ਭੇਸ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਸਾਥ ਸੋਭ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
The sage was alongwith his disciples having smeared his face with ashes and wearing the ochre-coloured clothes
ਗੁਨਗਾਵਤਗੋਬਿੰਦਏਕਮੁਖੰ॥
ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਨਡੋਲਤਆਸਉਦਾਸਸੁਖੰ॥੩੫੯॥
ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਰਕਤ ਡੋਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੩੫੯॥
He was singing the praises of the Lord with his mouth and was moving unattached with all kind of desires.359.
ਸੁਭਸੂਰਤਿਪੂਰਤਨਾਦਨਵੰ॥
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਾਲਾ (ਦੱਤ) ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਦ ਪੂਰਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਤਿਉਜਲਅੰਗਬਿਭੂਤਰਿਖੰ॥
ਅੰਗਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਅਤਿ ਉਜਲੀ ਵਿਭੂਤੀ ਮਲੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
Various sounds were created with the mouth and the sage Dutt’s body was allied with many types of magnificence
ਨਹੀਬੋਲਤਡੋਲਤਦੇਸਦਿਸੰ॥
(ਮੁਖ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ) ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲਦਾ, ਦੇਸਾਂ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਿਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਨਚਾਰਤਧਾਰਤਧ੍ਯਾਨਹਰੰ॥੩੬੦॥
ਹਰਿ-ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩੬੦॥
He was moving silently in various countries far and near and was meditating on the Lord in his mind.360.
ਅਵਿਲੋਕਯਚਾਵੰਡਿਚਾਰੁਪ੍ਰਭੰ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਇਕ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਇਲ (ਚਾਂਵਡ) ਵੇਖੀ
ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿਜਾਤਉਡੀਗਹਿਮਾਸੁਮੁਖੰ॥
(ਜੋ) ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਸ ਪਾਈ ਘਰ ਵਲ ਉਡੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ।
There he saw a vulture, who was holding a piece of flesh in his mouth and flying
ਲਖਿਕੈਪਲਚਾਵੰਡਿਚਾਰਚਲੀ॥
(ਉਸ) ਸੁੰਦਰ ਇਲ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਨੇ ਮਾਸ ਦਾ ਟੁਕੜਾ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ
ਤਿਹਤੇਅਤਿਪੁਸਟਪ੍ਰਮਾਥਬਲੀ॥੩੬੧॥
(ਜੋ) ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਤਕੜੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਸੀ ॥੩੬੧॥
Seeing it, more powerful four vultures moved forward.361.
ਅਵਿਲੋਕਿਸਮਾਸਅਕਾਸਉਡੀ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਮਾਸ ਦਾ ਟੁਕੜਾ ਲਏ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਉਡੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ,
ਅਤਿਜੁਧੁਤਹੀਤਿਹੰਸੰਗਮੰਡੀ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
They flew in the sky and there they began to fight with that vulture
ਤਜਿਮਾਸੁਚੜਾਉਡਿਆਪਚਲੀ॥
(ਉਸ) ਨੂੰ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਇਲ ('ਚੜਾ') ਮਾਸ ਦੇ ਟੁਕੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਕੇ
ਲਹਿਕੈਚਿਤਚਾਵੰਡਿਚਾਰਬਲੀ॥੩੬੨॥
ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਉਡ ਕੇ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ॥੩੬੨॥
Whe dropped the pieced of flesh on seeing these powerful vultures and flew away.362.
ਅਵਿਲੋਕਿਸੁਚਾਵੰਡਿਚਾਰਪਲੰ॥
ਉਸ ਮਾਸ ('ਪਲੰ') ਦੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਟੁਕੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ,
ਤਜਿਤ੍ਰਾਸਭਾਈਥਿਰਭੂਮਿਥਲੰ॥
ਡਰ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਸਥਿਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
Seeing those four vulture, even the earth below became stable out of fear seeing them,
ਲਖਿਤਾਸੁਮਨੰਮੁਨਿਚਉਕਰਹ੍ਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੁਨੀ (ਦੱਤ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਚਿਤਸੋਰ੍ਰਹਸਵੇਗੁਰੁਤਾਸੁਕਹ੍ਯੋ॥੩੬੩॥
(ਫਿਰ) ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਲ੍ਹਵਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਹਿ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੩੬੩॥
The sage was startled and adopted them (it) as the Sixteeth Guru.363.
ਕੋਊਐਸਤਜੈਜਬਸਰਬਧਨੰ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ (ਦੁਖ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਕਰਿਕੈਬਿਨੁਆਸਉਦਾਸਮਨੰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਦਾਸ (ਵਿਰਕਤ) ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
If anyone getting unattached with all the desires, forsakes all the assets
ਤਬਪਾਚਉਇੰਦ੍ਰੀਤਿਆਗਰਹੈ॥
ਤਦ ਪੰਜੇ ਇੰਦਰੀਆਂ (ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ) ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਅਚਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਇਨਚੀਲਨਜਿਉਸ੍ਰੁਤਐਸਕਹੈ॥੩੬੪॥
ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਲਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਵੇਦ ਵੀ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩੬੪॥
Then only he can be considered an ascetic make his understanding like these vultures.364.

ਕਰਿਸੋਰਸਵੋਰਿਖਿਤਾਸੁਗੁਰੰ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਲ੍ਹਵਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਕੇ
ਉਠਿਚਲੀਆਬਾਟਉਦਾਸਚਿਤੰ॥
(ਦੱਤ) ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਉਦਾਸ ਚਿਤ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਹ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਪਿਆ।
After adopting the vulture as the seventeenth Guru with unattached mind, Dutt proceeded again on his path
ਮੁਖਿਪੂਰਤਨਾਦਿਨਿਨਾਦਧੁਨੰ॥
(ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਮੂੰਹ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਰੰਤਰ ਧੁਨ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
ਸੁਨਿਰੀਝਤਗੰਧ੍ਰਬਦੇਵਨਰੰ॥੩੬੫॥
(ਇਹ ਗੱਲ) ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ, ਗੰਧਰਬ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੋਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ॥੩੬੫॥
He was producing various types of sounds form his mouth and hearing the same, the gods, Gandharvas, men and women, all were getting pleased.365.
ਚਲਿਜਾਤਭਏਸਰਿਤਾਨਿਕਟੰ॥
ਜਾਂਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਜਾ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ
ਹਠਵੰਤਰਿਖੰਤਪਸਾਬਿਕਟ॥
ਜੋ ਹਠ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਠੋਰ ਤਪਸਵੀ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਸੀ।
ਅਵਿਲੋਕਦੁਧੀਰਯਾਏਕਤਹਾ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਉਥੇ ਇਕ 'ਦੁਧੀਰਾ' ਪੰਛੀ ਵੇਖਿਆ,
ਉਛਰੰਤਹੁਤੇਨਦਿਮਛਜਹਾ॥੩੬੬॥
ਜਿਥੇ ਨਦੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਛਲੀਆਂ ਉਛਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ ॥੩੬੬॥
The persistent and ascetic sage reached near a stream, where he saw a flying bird named ‘Mahiggir’ near the jumping fish.366.
ਥਰਕੰਤਹੁਤੋਇਕਚਿਤਨਭੰ॥
(ਉਹ ਪੰਛੀ) ਇਕ ਚਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਥਿਰਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
