ਹੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ! (ਧਿਆਨ ਪੂਰਵਕ) ਸੁਣ ਲੈ ॥੩੯॥
“Whenever we will assume the incarnations and whatever he will do. O Brahma! You may describe team.”39.

ਸੁਧਾਰਿਮਾਨੁਖੀਬਪੁੰਸੰਭਾਰਿਰਾਮਜਾਗਿਹੈ॥
ਉਹ (ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਰਾਮ (ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ) ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਸਚੇਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
“You may assume the human form and take up the story of Ram
ਬਿਸਾਰਿਸਸਤ੍ਰਅਸਤ੍ਰਣੰਜੁਝਾਰਸਤ੍ਰੁਭਾਗਿਹੈ॥
(ਉਸ ਅਗੇ) ਜੁਝਾਰੂ ਵੈਰੀ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਅਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
The enemies will run away, abandoning their arms and weapons, before the glory of Ram
ਬਿਚਾਰਜੌਨਜੌਨਭਯੋਸੁਧਾਰਿਸਰਬਭਾਖੀਯੋ॥
ਜੋ ਜੋ (ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪਰਾਕ੍ਰਮ ਹੋਣਗੇ) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਵਰਣਨ ਕਰਨਾ।
ਹਜਾਰਕੋਊਨਕਿਯੋਕਰੋਬਿਚਾਰਿਸਬਦਰਾਖੀਯੋ॥੪੦॥
(ਉਹ ਭਾਵੇਂ) ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਕੌਤਕ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ, (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਵਿਚਾਰ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਗੁੰਦਣਾ ॥੪੦॥
Whatever he will do, reform and describe them and inspire of the though of difficulties present the same in poetry arranging the thoughtful worlds.”40.
ਚਿਤਾਰਿਬੈਣਵਾਕਿਸੰਬਿਚਾਰਿਬਾਲਮੀਕਭਯੋ॥
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ('ਵਾਕਿਸੰ') ਨੇ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਬੋਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਵਾਨ ਬਾਲਮੀਕ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ।
ਜੁਝਾਰਰਾਮਚੰਦ੍ਰਕੋਬਿਚਾਰਚਾਰੁਉਚਰ੍ਯੋ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਕਥਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
Obeying the saying of the Lord, Brahma assumed the form of Valmiki and manifested himself and he composed in poetry the actions performed by Ramchandra, the most powerful one
ਸੁਸਪਤਕਾਡਣੋਕਥ੍ਯੋਅਸਕਤਲੋਕੁਹੁਇਰਹ੍ਯੋ॥
ਉਸ (ਕਥਾ) ਨੂੰ ਸੱਤ ਕਾਂਡਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬਿਆਨ ਕੀਤਾ (ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ) ਲੋਕੀਂ ਮੋਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
ਉਤਾਰਚਤ੍ਰਆਨਨੋਸੁਧਾਰਿਐਸਕੈਕਹ੍ਯੋ॥੪੧॥
ਇਹ ਚੌ-ਮੁਖੀਏ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦਾ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸੀ। (ਇਸ ਨੂੰ) ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਕਥਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੪੧॥
He composed in a reformed way the Ramayana, of seven chapters for helpless people.41.
ਇਤਿਸ੍ਰੀਬਚਿਤ੍ਰਨਾਟਕਗ੍ਰੰਥੇਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਪ੍ਰਤਿਆਗਿਆਸਮਾਪਤੰ॥
ਇਥੇ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਦੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਆਗਿਆ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ।

ਸੁਧਾਰਿਅਵਤਾਰਕੋਬਿਚਾਰਦੂਜਭਾਖਿਹੈ॥
ਉਸ (ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ) ਨੇ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਪੂਰਵਕ (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕਥਾ ਦਾ) ਹੋਰ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਣਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਸੇਖਚਤ੍ਰਾਨਕੇਅਸੇਖਸ੍ਵਾਦਚਾਖਿਹੈ॥
ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਚਤੁਰਾਈਆਂ (ਸਿਆਣਪਾਂ) ਦਾ ਅਦੁੱਤੀ ('ਅਸੇਖ') ਸੁਆਦ ਚਖਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
After assuming the incarnation, Brahma, with the fullness of his heart and in a special way, presented his thoughts
ਅਕਰਖਦੇਵਿਕਾਲਿਕਾਅਨਿਰਖਸਬਦਉਚਰੋ॥
ਦੇਵੀ ਕਾਲਿਕਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਲ ਆਕਰਸ਼ਿਤ ('ਆਕਰਖ') ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਦਭੁਤ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੁਬੀਨਬੀਨਕੈਬਡੇਪ੍ਰਾਬੀਨਅਛ੍ਰਕੋਧਰੋ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਚੁਣਚੁਣ ਕੇ ਬੜੇ ਢੁੱਕਵੇਂ ਅੱਖਰਾਂ (ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਸੰਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
He remembered the Lord and composed the songs and prepared the epic skillfully arranging the selected words.1.
ਬਿਚਾਰਿਆਦਿਈਸ੍ਵਰੀਅਪਾਰਸਬਦੁਰਾਖੀਐ॥
ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਈਸ਼ਵਰ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਫਿਰ) ਅਪਾਰ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਚਿਤਾਰਿਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਕਾਲਕੀਜੁਚਾਹੀਐਸੁਭਾਖੀਐ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਸੀ, (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਵਰਣਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
For the divine thoughts, he created the word `Brahm` and by remembering the Lord and with His grace, he narrated whatever he wanted
ਨਸੰਕਚਿਤਿਆਨੀਐਬਨਾਇਆਪਲੇਹਗੇ॥
ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ੰਕਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੰਵਾਰਨ (ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਦੇਣਗੇ)।
ਸੁਕ੍ਰਿਤਕਾਬਿਕ੍ਰਿਤਕੀਕਬੀਸਔਰਦੇਹਗੇ॥੨॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਾਵਿ ਦਾ ਯਸ਼ ਹੋਰ ਕਵੀ ਜਨ ਕਰਨਗੇ ॥੨॥
He unhesitatingly, composed in this way the, fine epic Ramayana, which none else will be able to do.2.
ਸਮਾਨਗੁੰਗਕੇਕਵਿਸੁਕੈਸੇਕਾਬਿਭਾਖਹੈ॥
ਕਵੀ (ਬਾਲਮੀਕ) ਗੁੰਗੇ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਉਚਾਰੇਗਾ।
ਅਕਾਲਕਾਲਕੀਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਬਨਾਇਗ੍ਰੰਥਰਾਖਿਹੈ॥
(ਪਰ) ਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
All the poets are dumb before him, how will they compose poetry? He composed this granth by the Grace of the Lord
ਸੁਭਾਖ੍ਯਕਉਮਦੀਪੜੇਗੁਨੀਅਸੇਖਰੀਝਹੈ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਵੇਦਾਂ ਦੇ) ਭਾਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਕੌਮਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋਏ ਗੁਣੀ ਜਨ (ਵਾਚ ਕੇ) ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਿਚਾਰਿਆਪਨੀਕ੍ਰਿਤੰਬਿਸੇਖਚਿਤਿਖੀਝਿਹੈ॥੩॥
(ਫਿਰ) ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਖਿਝਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
The erudite scholars of language and and literature read it with pleasure, and while comparing with their own works, they get angry in their minds.3.
ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰਕਾਬ੍ਰਯਕੀਕਥਾਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਆਜਭਾਖੀਐ॥
(ਉਸ) ਵਿਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਾਵਿ ਦੀ ਕਥਾ (ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ) ਅਜ ਤਕ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਹੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸੁਸਿਧਬ੍ਰਿਧਦਾਇਨੀਸਮ੍ਰਿਧਬੈਨਰਾਖੀਐ॥
ਉਹ (ਕਥਾ) ਸਿੱਧੀ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਿੱਧੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ (ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ) ਸਮ੍ਰਿਧ ਬਚਨ ਰਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
The story of his immaculate poem which is really wonderful accomplished and powerful, this story is
ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਨਿਰਮਲੀਮਹਾਬਚਿਤ੍ਰਕਾਬ੍ਰਯਕਥੀਐ॥
(ਬਾਲਮੀਕ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ) ਵਿਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਾਵਿ ਦਾ ਕਥਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਹ) ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੈ।
ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਸਬਦਊਪਜੈਚਰਿਤ੍ਰਕੌਨਕਿਜੀਐ॥੪॥
(ਉਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਉਸ ਵਿਚਲੇ) ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ (ਭਾਵ-ਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਰੂਪ ਦੀ ਉਪਮਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ॥੪॥
His poem is said to be extremly pure and each of its episodies is spotless, sanctified and marvelous.4.
ਸੁਸੇਵਕਾਲਦੇਵਕੀਅਭੇਵਜਾਨਿਕੀਜੀਐ॥
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ 'ਅਭੇਵ' ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।
According to the instructions given in Ramayana, we should ever be in the service of the Lord
ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤਉਠਿਤਾਸੁਕੋਮਹਾਤਨਾਮਲੀਜੀਐ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
We should get up early In the morning and remember His Name
ਅਸੰਖਦਾਨਦੇਹਿਗੋਦੁਰੰਤਸਤ੍ਰੁਘਾਇਹੈ॥
(ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਲੇਵਾ) ਬੇਅੰਤ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਅਸੰਖ (ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਦਾਨ ਦੇਣਗੇ।
Through the glory of His Name, many mighty enemies are killed and the charities of innumerable types are bestowed
ਸੁਪਾਨਰਾਖਿਆਪਨੋਅਜਾਨਕੋਬਚਾਇਹੈ॥੫॥
(ਉਸ) ਅਜਾਣ ਨੂੰ (ਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ) ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਬਚਾਉਣਗੇ ॥੫॥
That Lord, also keeping his name on our heads, protects the ignorant people like us.5.
ਨਸੰਤਬਾਰਬਾਕਿਹੈਅਸੰਤਜੂਝਿਹੈਬਲੀ॥
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਾਲ ਵੀ ਵਿੰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੰਤ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਜੂਝ ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਿਸੇਖਸੈਨਭਾਜਹੈਸਿਤੰਸਰੇਣਨਿਰਦਲੀ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ) ਨਾ ਦਲੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸੈਨਾ ਭਜ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ('ਸਿਤੰਸ') ਦੀਆਂ ਕਿਰਨਾਂ (ਅਗੇ) ਰਾਤ (ਦਾ) ਹਨੇਰਾ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Even after the fighting of many mighty warriors, the saints remain unharmed and before the forces of agony and before the white arrows of His Grace and tranquility, the forces of agony and affliction fly away
ਕਿਆਨਿਆਪੁਹਾਥਦੈਬਚਾਇਮੋਹਿਲੇਹਿੰਗੇ॥
(ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਣਗੇ।
ਦੁਰੰਤਘਾਟਅਉਘਟੇਕਿਦੇਖਨੈਨਦੇਹਿੰਗੇ॥੬॥
ਬਹੁਤ ਔਖੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਘਟਣ ਦੇਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ (ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ) ਦੇਖਣ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਣਗੇ ॥੬॥
That Lord with His Grace will save me and I shall never pass through any condition of suffering and hardship.6.
ਇਤਿਅਵਤਾਰਬਾਲਮੀਕਪ੍ਰਿਥਮਸਮਾਪਤੰ॥੧॥

ਪੁਨਿਧਰਾਬ੍ਰਹਮਕਸਪਵਤਾਰ॥
ਫਿਰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੇ ਕਸ਼ਪ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਸ੍ਰੁਤਿਕਰੇਪਾਠਤ੍ਰੀਅਬਰੀਚਾਰ॥
(ਉਹ) ਵੇਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਠ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਰ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਆਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਮਥਨੀਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਕੀਨੀਪ੍ਰਗਾਸ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਮੈਥਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।
ਉਪਜਾਇਦੇਵਦਾਨਵਸੁਬਾਸ॥੭॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ, ਦੈਂਤ ਅਤੇ ਨਗਰ ('ਬਾਸ') ਸਿਰਜੇ ਸਨ ॥੭॥
The Brahma assuming the Kashyap incarnation, recited shrutis (Vedas) and married four women, after that he created the whole world, when both gods and demons were created.7.
ਜੋਭਏਰਿਖਿਹ੍ਵੈਗੇਵਤਾਰ॥
ਜੋ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ (ਕਸ਼ਪ) ਹੋਏ, ਉਹ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ;
ਤਿਨਕੋਬਿਚਾਰਕਿਨੋਬਿਚਾਰ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਸ੍ਰੁਤਿਕਰੇਬੇਦਅਰੁਧਰੇਅਰਥ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੁਤੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੇਦ ਬਣਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਅਰਥ ਭਰੇ
ਕਰਦਏਦੂਰਭੂਅਕੇਅਨਰਥ॥੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਅਨਰਥ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ॥੮॥
Those who because sages, he though about them, he interpreted the Vedas and removed the misfortune from the earth.8.
ਇਹਭਾਤਿਕੀਨਦੂਸ੍ਰਵਤਾਰ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ (ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੇ) ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
