ਅਉਰਕਿਸੁਤੇਬੈਰਨਗਹਿਹੌ॥੩੧॥
ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਲਾਂਗਾ ॥੩੧॥
Whatever the Lord said, I am repeating the same unto you, I do not bear enmity with anyone.31.
ਜੋਹਮਕੋਪਰਮੇਸੁਰਉਚਰਿਹੈ॥
ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਕਹਿਣਗੇ,
ਤੇਸਭਨਰਕਿਕੁੰਡਮਹਿਪਰਿਹੈ॥
ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਰਕ-ਕੁੰਡ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਣਗੇ।
Whosoever shall call me the Lord, shall fall into hell.
ਮੋਕੋਦਾਸੁਤਵਨਕਾਜਾਨੋ॥
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਸਮਝੋ।
ਯਾਮੈਭੇਦੁਨਰੰਚਪਛਾਨੋ॥੩੨॥
ਇਸ (ਗੱਲ) ਵਿਚ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵੀ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਨਾ ਸਮਝੋ ॥੩੨॥
Consider me as His servant and do not think of any difference between me and the Lord.32.
ਮੈਹੋਪਰਮਪੁਰਖਕੋਦਾਸਾ॥
ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮ-ਪੁਰਖ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਹਾਂ
ਦੇਖਨਿਆਯੋਜਗਤਤਮਾਸਾ॥
ਅਤੇ ਜਾਗਤਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਪੰਚ ਦਾ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਦੇਖਣ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ।
I am the servant of the Supreme Purusha and hath come to see the Sport of the world.
ਜੋਪ੍ਰਭਜਗਤਿਕਹਾਸੋਕਹਿਹੋ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਕਹਾਂਗਾ
ਮ੍ਰਿਤਲੋਗਤੇਮੋਨਿਨਰਹਿਹੋ॥੩੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਮਰਨ-ਸ਼ੀਲ ਸੰਸਾਰ (ਤੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਡਰ ਕੇ) ਮੌਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਾਂਗਾ ॥੩੩॥
Whatever the Lord of the world said, I say the same unto you, I cannot remain silent in this abode of death.33.
ਨਰਾਜਛੰਦ॥
ਨਰਾਜ ਛੰਦ:
NAARAAJ CHHAND
ਕਹਿਯੋਪ੍ਰਭੂਸੁਭਾਖਿਹੌ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਜੋ ਕੁਝ) ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ (ਮੈਂ) ਕਹਾਂਗਾ,
ਕਿਸੂਨਕਾਨਰਾਖਿਹੌ॥
ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਖਾਂਗਾ।
I say only that which the Lord hath said, I do not yield to anyone else.
ਕਿਸੂਨਭੇਖਭੀਜਹੌ॥
ਕਿਸੇ ਭੇਖ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ
ਅਲੇਖਬੀਜਬੀਜਹੌ॥੩੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ('ਅਲੇਖ' ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ) ਬੀਜ ਬੀਜਾਂਗਾ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ) ॥੩੪॥
I do not feel pleased with any particular garb, I sow the seed of God’s Name.34.
ਪਖਾਣਪੂਜਿਹੌਨਹੀ॥
ਮੈਂ ਪੱਥਰ-ਪੂਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ
ਨਭੇਖਭੀਜਹੌਕਹੀ॥
ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ (ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼) ਭੇਖ ਵਿਚ ਭਿਜਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਂ।
I do not worship stones, nor I have any liking for a particular guise.
ਅਨੰਤਨਾਮੁਗਾਇਹੌ॥
(ਮੈਂ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ
I sing the Name (of the Lord),
ਪਰਮਪੁਰਖਪਾਇਹੌ॥੩੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ॥੩੫॥
I sing infinite Names (of the Lord), and meet the Supreme Purusha.35.
ਜਟਾਨਸੀਸਧਾਰਿਹੌ॥
(ਮੈਂ) ਸੀਸ ਉਤੇ ਜਟਾਵਾਂ ਧਾਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ
ਨਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਕਾਸੁਧਾਰਿਹੌ॥
ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ (ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਮੁੰਦਰਾਂ ਪਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
I do not wear matted hair on my head, nor do I put rings in my ears.
ਨਕਾਨਿਕਾਹੂੰਕੀਧਰੋ॥
ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ,
ਕਹਿਯੋਪ੍ਰਭੂਸੁਮੈਕਰੋ॥੩੬॥
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ॥੩੬॥
I do not pay attention to anyone else, all my actions are at the bidding of the Lord.36.
ਭਜੋਸੁਏਕੁਨਾਮਯੰ॥
(ਮੈਂ ਕੇਵਲ) ਇਕ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ) ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ
ਜੁਕਾਮਸਰਬਠਾਮਯੰ॥
ਜੋ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
I recite only the Name of the Lord, which is useful at all places.
ਨਜਾਪਆਨਕੋਜਪੋ॥
(ਮੈਂ) ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਪਾਂਗਾ
ਨਅਉਰਥਾਪਨਾਥਪੋ॥੩੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ॥੩੭॥
I do not meditate on anyone else, nor do I seek assistance from any other quarter.37.
ਬਿਅੰਤਿਨਾਮੁਧਿਆਇਹੌ॥
(ਮੈਂ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਬੇਅੰਤ) ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ
ਪਰਮਜੋਤਿਪਾਇਹੌ॥
ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ) ਪਰਮ-ਜੋਤਿ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
I recite infinite Names and attain the Supreme light.
ਨਧਿਆਨਆਨਕੋਧਰੋ॥
(ਮੈਂ) ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ (ਇਸ਼ਟ-ਦੇਵ ਦਾ) ਧਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਧਰਾਂਗਾ
ਨਨਾਮੁਆਨਿਉਚਰੋ॥੩੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ (ਕਿਸੇ) ਦੂਜੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਾਂਗਾ ॥੩੮॥
I do not meditate on anyone else, nor do I repeat the Name of anyone else.38.
ਤਵਿਕਨਾਮਰਤਿਯੰ॥
ਤੇਰੇ ਇਕ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ (ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਰੰਗਿਆ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ,
ਨਆਨਮਾਨਮਤਿਯੰ॥
ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਾਨ-ਸਨਮਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ।
I am absorbed only in the Name of the Lord, and honour none else.
ਪਰਮਧਿਆਨਧਾਰੀਯੰ॥
(ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਧਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ
ਅਨੰਤਪਾਪਟਾਰੀਯੰ॥੩੯॥
ਅਤੇ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ) ਅਨੇਕ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਟਾਲ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ॥੩੯॥
By meditating on the Supreme, I am absolved of infinite sins.39.
ਤੁਮੇਵਰੂਪਰਾਚਿਯੰ॥
ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ,
ਨਆਨਦਾਨਮਾਚਿਯੰ॥
ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਦਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਰੁਚਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ।
I am absorbed only in His Sight, and do not attend to any other charitable action.
ਤਵਕਿਨਾਮੁਉਚਾਰੀਯੰ॥
ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਇਕ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਉਚਾਰਾਂਗਾ
ਅਨੰਤਦੂਖਟਾਰੀਯੰ॥੪੦॥
ਅਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਦੁਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ॥੪੦॥
By uttering only His Name, I am absolved of infinite sorrows.40.
ਚੌਪਈ॥
ਚੌਪਈ:
CHAUPAI
ਜਿਨਿਜਿਨਿਨਾਮੁਤਿਹਾਰੋਧਿਆਇਆ॥
ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਆਰਾਧਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ,
ਦੂਖਪਾਪਤਿਨਨਿਕਟਿਨਆਇਆ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਦੁਖ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who mediated on the Name of the Lord, none of the sorrows and sins came near them.
ਜੇਜੇਅਉਰਧਿਆਨਕੋਧਰਹੀ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਬਹਿਸਿਬਹਿਸਿਬਾਦਨਤੇਮਰਹੀ॥੪੧॥
ਉਹ (ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ) ਝਗੜਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਬਹਿਸ ਬਹਿਸ ਕੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪੧॥
Those who meditated on any other Entiey, they ended themselves in futile discussions and quarrels.41.
ਹਮਇਹਕਾਜਜਗਤਮੋਆਏ॥
ਇਹੀ ਕੰਮ (ਕਰਨ ਲਈ) ਅਸੀਂ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਏ ਹਾਂ,
ਧਰਮਹੇਤਗੁਰਦੇਵਿਪਠਾਏ॥
ਧਰਮ (ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰ) ਲਈ ਨਿਰਾਕਾਰ (ਗੁਰਦੇਵ) ਨੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ।
I have been sent into this world by the Preceptor-Lord to propagate Dharma (righteousness).
ਜਹਾਤਹਾਤੁਮਧਰਮਬਿਥਾਰੋ॥
ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਥੇ (ਸਰਬਤ੍ਰ) ਤੁਸੀਂ ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਵਿਸਤਾਰ ਕਰੋ
ਦੁਸਟਦੋਖਯਨਿਪਕਰਿਪਛਾਰੋ॥੪੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਖੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਪਛਾੜ ਦਿਓ ॥੪੨॥
The Lord asked me to spread Dharma, and vanquish the tyrants and evil-minded persons. 42.
ਯਾਹੀਕਾਜਧਰਾਹਮਜਨਮੰ॥
ਇਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਲਈ ਅਸੀਂ ਜਨਮ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਮਝਲੇਹੁਸਾਧੂਸਭਮਨਮੰ॥
ਹੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਪੁਰਸ਼ੋ! ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਝ ਲਵੋ।
I have taken birth of this purpose, the saints should comprehend this in their minds.
ਧਰਮਚਲਾਵਨਸੰਤਉਬਾਰਨ॥
(ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਡਾ ਕਰਤੱਵ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਧਰਮ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਜਾਏ
ਦੁਸਟਸਭਨਕੋਮੂਲਉਪਾਰਿਨ॥੪੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਉੱਧਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੜ੍ਹੋਂ ਪੁਟਿਆ ਜਾਏ ॥੪੩॥
(I have been born) to spread Dharma, and protect saints, and root out tyrants and evil-minded persons.43.
ਜੇਜੇਭਏਪਹਿਲਅਵਤਾਰਾ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ,
ਆਪੁਆਪੁਤਿਨਜਾਪੁਉਚਾਰਾ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪਣੇ (ਨਾਮ ਦਾ) ਜਾਪ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
All the earlier incarnations caused only their names to be remembered.
ਪ੍ਰਭਦੋਖੀਕੋਈਨਬਿਦਾਰਾ॥
ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਦੋਖੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ
ਧਰਮਕਰਨਕੋਰਾਹੁਨਡਾਰਾ॥੪੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ (ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਧਰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਾਹ ਉਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੪੪॥
They did not strike the tyrants and did not make them follow th path of Dharma.44.
ਜੇਜੇਗਉਸਅੰਬੀਆਭਏ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪੀਰ-ਫ਼ਕੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਨੱਬੀ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ,
ਮੈਮੈਕਰਤਜਗਤਤੇਗਏ॥
(ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ) ਮੈਂ ਮੈਂ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
All the earlier prophets ended themselves in ego.
ਮਹਾਪੁਰਖਕਾਹੂੰਨਪਛਾਨਾ॥
ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਮਹਾਪੁਰਖ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ
ਕਰਮਧਰਮਕੋਕਛੂਨਜਾਨਾ॥੪੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮ-ਕਰਮ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ ॥੪੫॥
And did not comprehend the supreme Purusha, they did not care for the righteous actions.45.
ਅਵਰਨਕੀਆਸਾਕਿਛੁਨਾਹੀ॥
ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਦਾ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ (ਮਹੱਤਵ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ,
ਏਕੈਆਸਧਰੋਮਨਮਾਹੀ॥
ਇਕੋ (ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ) ਦੀ ਆਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰੋ।
Have no hopes on others, rely only on the ONE Lord.
ਆਨਆਸਉਪਜਤਕਿਛੁਨਾਹੀ॥
ਹੋਰਨਾਂ (ਦੇਵੀ-ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ) ਦੀ ਆਸ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
ਵਾਕੀਆਸਧਰੋਮਨਮਾਹੀ॥੪੬॥
(ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੇਵਲ) ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰੋ ॥੪੬॥
The hopes on others are never fruitful, therefore, keep in your mind the hopes on the ONE Lord.46.
ਦੋਹਰਾ॥
ਦੋਹਰਾ:
DOHRA
ਕੋਈਪੜਤਿਕੁਰਾਨਕੋਕੋਈਪੜਤਪੁਰਾਨ॥
ਕੋਈ ਕੁਰਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ।
Someone studies the Quran and someone studies the Puranas.
ਕਾਲਨਸਕਤਬਚਾਇਕੈਫੋਕਟਧਰਮਨਿਦਾਨ॥੪੭॥
(ਪਰ) ਇਹ ਸਭ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਉਪਚਾਰ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੪੭॥
Mere reading cannot save one from death. Therefore such works are vain and do not help at the time of death.47.
ਚੌਪਈ॥
ਚੌਪਈ:
CHAUPAI
ਕਈਕੋਟਿਮਿਲਿਪੜਤਕੁਰਾਨਾ॥
ਕਈ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ (ਲੋਕ) ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਕੁਰਾਨ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਹਨ
ਬਾਚਤਕਿਤੇਪੁਰਾਨਅਜਾਨਾ॥
ਅਤੇ (ਕਈ) ਅਣਜਾਣ ਲੋਕ ਪੁਰਾਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਚਦੇ ਹਨ,
Millions of people recite the Quran and many study Puranas witout understanding the crux.
ਅੰਤਿਕਾਲਿਕੋਈਕਾਮਨਆਵਾ॥
(ਪਰ) ਅੰਤ-ਕਾਲ (ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ
ਦਾਵਕਾਲਕਾਹੂੰਨਬਚਾਵਾ॥੪੮॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਕਾਲ ਦੇ ਦਾਓ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਬਚਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੪੮॥
It will be of no use at the time of death and none will be saved.48.
ਕਿਉਨਜਪੋਤਾਕੋਤੁਮਭਾਈ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਰਾਧਨਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ
