ਸੰਧਿਜਰਾਹੂਕੋਸੈਨਮਥਿਓਅਰੁਸਤ੍ਰਨਕੋਜਿਹਮਾਨਹਿਟਾਰਿਓ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਜਰਾਸੰਧ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਸਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
ਤਿਉਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਇਕਸਾਧਨਕੇਪੁਨਿਚਾਹਤਹੈਸਭਪਾਪਨਟਾਰਿਓ॥੨੪੮੧॥
ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਸੰਤਾਂ (ਭਗਤਾਂ) ਦੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨੪੮੧॥
The way in which the army of Jarasandh was churned and his pride was shattered, in the same way, Krishna wants to finish all the sins of those women.2481.
ਜੋਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਇਕਕੇਰੁਚਸੋਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਭਨੈਫੁਨਿਗੀਤਨਗੈਹੈ॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ (ਸਾਧਕ) ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਗੀਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਚਾਤੁਰਤਾਸੰਗਜੋਹਰਿਕੋਜਸੁਬੀਚਕਬਿਤਨਕੇਸੁਬਨੈਹੈ॥
ਜੋ (ਕਵੀ) ਸਿਆਣਪ ਨਾਲ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਯਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ।
Whosoever will sing the songs of Krishna with love, describe his glory in a nice way in poetry,
ਅਉਰਨਤੇਸੁਨਿਜੋਚਰਚਾਹਰਿਕੀਹਰਿਕੋਮਨਭੀਤਰਦੈਹੈ॥
ਜੋ (ਵਿਅਕਤੀ) ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਟਿਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੋਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਭਨੈਧਰਿਕੈਤਨਯਾਭਵਭੀਤਰਫੇਰਿਨਐਹੈ॥੨੪੮੨॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ (ਵਿਅਕਤੀ) ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੇ ॥੨੪੮੨॥
Discuss in his mind about the Lord on listening about Him from others, the poet Shyam says that he will not assume another body and transmigrate.2482.
ਜੋਉਪਮਾਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥਕੀਗਾਇਹੈਅਉਰਕਬਿਤਨਬੀਚਕਰੈਗੇ॥
ਜੋ (ਵਿਅਕਤੀ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਰਚਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਾਪਨਕੀਤੇਊਪਾਵਕਮੈਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਭਨੈਕਬਹੂੰਨਜਰੈਗੇ॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਨੀ ਵਿਚ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੜਦਾ।
Those who will sing the praises of Krishna and narrate him in poetry, will never burn in the fire of sin
ਚਿੰਤਸਭੈਮਿਟਹੈਜੁਰਹੀਛਿਨਮੈਤਿਨਕੇਅਘਬ੍ਰਿੰਦਟਰੈਗੇ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤ) ਛਿਣ ਭਰ ਲਈ (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ) ਲਗ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚਿੰਤਾਵਾਂ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।
All their anxieties will be destroyed and all their sins will end collectively
ਜੇਨਰਸ੍ਯਾਮਜੂਕੇਪਰਸੇਪਗਤੇਨਰਫੇਰਿਨਦੇਹਧਰੈਗੇ॥੨੪੮੩॥
ਜੋ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਪਰਸਣਗੇ, ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਫਿਰ ਦੇਹ ਧਾਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ ॥੨੪੮੩॥
That person, who will touch the feet of Krishna, he will never assume the body again.2483.
ਜੋਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਇਕਕੋਰੁਚਿਸੋਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਭਨੈਫੁਨਿਜਾਪੁਜਪੈਹੈ॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਫਿਰ ਜੋ (ਵਿਅਕਤੀ) ਰੁਚੀ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜੋਤਿਹਕੇਹਿਤਕੈਮਨਮੈਬਹੁਮੰਗਨਲੋਗਨਕਉਧਨਦੈਹੈ॥
ਜੋ (ਵਿਅਕਤੀ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ (ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ) ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਮੰਗਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਨ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
He, who will repeat the name of Krishna with love, who will give wealth etc. to the person remembering him,
ਜੋਤਜਿਕਾਜਸਭੈਘਰਕੇਤਿਹਪਾਇਨਕੇਚਿਤਭੀਤਰਦੈਹੈ॥
ਜੋ (ਵਿਅਕਤੀ) ਘਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਿਤ ਅੰਦਰ (ਸਥਾਨ) ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਭੀਤਰਤੇਅਬਯਾਜਗਕੇਅਘਬ੍ਰਿੰਦਨਬੀਰਬਿਦਾਕਰਿਜੈਹੈ॥੨੪੮੪॥
ਉਹ (ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ) ਸੂਰਮੇ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ (ਜੀਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ) ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਚਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨੪੮੪॥
Who will absorb his mind in the feet of Krishna, abandoning all the tasks of the householder, then all the sins of the world will bid adieu to his mind.2484.
ਪ੍ਰੇਮਕੀਓਨਕੀਓਬਹੁਤੋਤਪਕਸਟਸਹਿਓਤਨਕੋਅਤਿਤਾਯੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ, (ਪਰ) ਬਹੁਤ ਤਪ ਕੀਤਾ, ਕਸ਼ਟ ਸਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੂਬ ਤਪਾਇਆ।
Though one was not absorbed in love, he endured many suffering on his body and performed austerities
ਕਾਸੀਮੈਜਾਇਪੜਿਓਅਤਿਹੀਬਹੁਬੇਦਨਕੋਕਰਿਸਾਰਨਆਯੋ॥
ਕਾਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਧਿਕ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ, (ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰ ਤਤ੍ਵ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਾ ਹੋਇਆ।
Though he received instructions about eh recitation of the Vedas at Kashi, but did not comprehend its essence
ਦਾਨਦੀਏਬਸਿਹ੍ਵੈਗਯੋਸ੍ਯਾਮਸਭੈਅਪਨੋਤਿਨਦਰਬਗਵਾਯੋ॥
(ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਦਾਨ ਦਿੱਤੇ, (ਕੀ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਸ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਨਹੀਂ) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਧਨ ਹੀ ਗੰਵਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਅੰਤ੍ਰਿਕੀਰੁਚਿਕੈਹਰਿਸਿਉਜਿਹਹੇਤਕੀਓਤਿਨਹੂਹਰਿਪਾਯੋ॥੨੪੮੫॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਅੰਦਰਲੀ ਰੁਚੀ ਨਾਲ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੪੮੫॥
Though thinking this he gave in charity all his wealth that the Lord will be pleased, but he who has loved the Lord from the core of his heart, he could only realise the Lord.2485.
ਕਾਭਯੋਜੋਬਕਲੋਚਨਮੂੰਦਕੈਬੈਠਿਰਹਿਓਜਗਭੇਖਦਿਖਾਏ॥
ਕੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਜੋ (ਕੋਈ) ਬਗਲੇ (ਵਾਂਗ) ਅੱਖਾਂ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬੈਠ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਖ ਵਿਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
What then, if some crane-like devotee had been performing heresy by closing his eyes and showing it to the people
ਮੀਨਫਿਰਿਓਜਲਨ੍ਰਹਾਤਸਦਾਤੁਕਹਾਤਿਹਕੇਕਰਿਮੋਹਰਿਆਏ॥
ਮੱਛੀ (ਵਾਂਗ) ਸਦਾ ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਫਿਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਹੋਇਆ। (ਕੀਹ) ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਹਰਿ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
Someone might have been taking bath at all the pilgrim-stations like a fish, has he ever been able to realise the Lord?
ਦਾਦੁਰਜੋਦਿਨਰੈਨਿਰਟੈਸੁਬਿਹੰਗਉਡੈਤਨਿਪੰਖਲਗਾਏ॥
ਡੱਡੂ (ਵਾਂਗ) ਜੋ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਾਂ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਖੰਭ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਪੰਛੀ (ਵਾਂਗ) ਉਡ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਭਨੈਇਹਸੰਤਸਭਾਬਿਨੁਪ੍ਰੇਮਕਹੂਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥਰਿਝਾਏ॥੨੪੮੬॥
(ਕਵੀ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਇਹ (ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ) ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੨੪੮੬॥
The frogs croak day and night, the birds always fly, but the poet Shyam says that inspite of repeating (the Name) and running hither and thither, none has been able to please Krishna without love.2486.
ਲਾਲਚਜੋਧਨਕੇਕਿਨਹੂਜੁਪੈਗਾਇਭਲੈਪ੍ਰਭਗੀਤਸੁਨਾਯੋ॥
ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਧਨ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਵਸ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੋਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੀਤ ਸੁਣਾਏ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਚਨਚਿਓਨਖਚਿਓਤਿਹਮੈਹਰਿਲੋਕਅਲੋਕਕੋਪੈਡਨਪਾਯੋ॥
(ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ) ਨਾਚ ਨਚਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਪਰ) ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ, (ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਹਰਿ ਦੇ ਅਲੌਕਿਕ ਲੋਕ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ।
He, who eulogises the Lord, coveting for wealth, and dances without loving Him, he could not realise the path leading towards the Lord
ਹਾਸਕਰਿਓਜਗਮੈਆਪੁਨੋਸੁਪਨੇਹੂਨਗਿਆਨਕੋਤਤੁਜਨਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਹਾਸਾ ਕਰਾਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਤਤ੍ਵ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ।
He, who passed all his life in mere sporting, and did not know the essence of knowledge, he also could not realise the Lord
ਪ੍ਰੇਮਬਿਨਾਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਭਨੈਕਰਿਕਾਹੂਕੇਮੈਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਇਕਆਯੋ॥੨੪੮੭॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ ॥੨੪੮੭॥
How can one realise Lord Krishna, without loving Him?2487.
ਹਾਰਿਚਲੇਗ੍ਰਿਹਆਪਨੇਕੋਬਨਮੋਬਹੁਤੋਤਿਨਧਿਆਨਲਗਾਏ॥
(ਜੋ) ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਬਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਬਨ ਨੂੰ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ (ਅਤੇ ਉਥੇ) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਹਤੁ ਧਿਆਨ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
Those who meditate in the forest, they ultimately, getting tired, come back to their homes
ਸਿਧਸਮਾਧਿਅਗਾਧਿਕਥਾਮੁਨਿਖੋਜਰਹੇਹਰਿਹਾਥਿਨਆਏ॥
ਸਿੱਧ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਲਗਾਈ ਹੈ, ਮੁਨੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਅਗਾਧ ਕਥਾ (ਸੁਣੀ ਹੈ) (ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ) ਖੋਜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, (ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਹਰਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ।
The adepts and the sages have been seeking the Lord through contemplation, but that Lord could not be realised by anyone
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਭਨੈਸਭਬੇਦਕਤੇਬਨਸੰਤਨਕੇਮਤਿਯੌਠਹਰਾਏ॥
(ਕਵੀ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੇਦਾਂ, ਕਤੇਬਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਤ ਵਿਚ ਇਹੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਭਾਖਤਹੈਕਬਿਸੰਤਸੁਨੋਜਿਹਪ੍ਰੇਮਕੀਏਤਿਹਸ੍ਰੀਪਤਿਪਾਏ॥੨੪੮੮॥
ਕਵੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਸੰਤੋ! ਸੁਣੋ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੪੮੮॥
All the Vedas, Katebs (Semitic Scriptures) and the saints say this that whosoever has loved the Lord, he has realized Him.2488.
ਛਤ੍ਰੀਕੋਪੂਤਹੌਬਾਮਨਕੋਨਹਿਕੈਤਪੁਆਵਤਹੈਜੁਕਰੋ॥
(ਮੈਂ) ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹਾਂ, ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਦਾ (ਪੁੱਤਰ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ। (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਤਪ ਕਰਨਾ ਕਿਥੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇ ਕਰਾਂ।
I am the son of a Kshatriya and not of a Brahmin who may instruct for performing severe austerities
ਅਰੁਅਉਰਜੰਜਾਰਜਿਤੋਗ੍ਰਿਹਕੋਤੁਹਿਤਿਆਗਿਕਹਾਚਿਤਤਾਮੈਧਰੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਜੰਜਾਲ ਹਨ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਕੀਹ ਚਿਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਾਂ।
How can I absorb myself in the embarrassments of the world by leaving you
ਅਬਰੀਝਿਕੈਦੇਹੁਵਹੈਹਮਕਉਜੋਊਹਉਬਿਨਤੀਕਰਜੋਰਿਕਰੋ॥
(ਇਸ ਲਈ) ਹੁਣ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹੀ (ਵਰ) ਦਿਓ, ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Whatever request I am making with my folded hands, O Lord!
ਜਬਆਉਕੀਅਉਧਨਿਦਾਨਬਨੈਅਤਿਹੀਰਨਮੈਤਬਜੂਝਿਮਰੋ॥੨੪੮੯॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਯੂ ਦੀ ਅਵਧੀ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਆ ਬਣੇ ਤਾਂ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਲੜਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਰ ਜਾਵਾਂ ॥੨੪੮੯॥
Kindly be graceful and bestow this boon on me that when ever my end comes, then I may die fighting in the battlefield.2489.

ਨਗਰਪਾਵਟਾਸੁਭਕਰਨਜਮੁਨਾਬਹੈਸਮੀਪ॥੨੪੯੦॥
ਪਾਂਵਟਾ ਨਗਰ (ਵਿਚ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਰਚਣ ਦਾ ਇਹ) ਸ਼ੁਭ ਕਰਮ (ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਥੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਹੀ ਜਮਨਾ ਵਗ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੨੪੯੦॥
In the town of Paonta at the auspicious hour, on banks of the flowing Yamuna, (this work has been completed).2490.
ਦਸਮਕਥਾਭਾਗੌਤਕੀਭਾਖਾਕਰੀਬਨਾਇ॥
ਭਾਗਵਤ (ਪੁਰਾਣ) ਦੇ ਦਸਮ (ਸਕੰਧ) ਦੀ ਕਥਾ (ਮੈਂ) ਭਾਖਾ ਵਿਚ ਰਖੀ ਹੈ।
I have composed the discourse of the tenth part (Skandh) of Bhagavat in the vernacular
ਅਵਰਬਾਸਨਾਨਾਹਿਪ੍ਰਭਧਰਮਜੁਧਕੇਚਾਇ॥੨੪੯੧॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, (ਬਸ) ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਦੀ ਚਾਹ (ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ) ਹੈ ॥੨੪੯੧॥
O Lord! I have no other desire and have only the zeal for the war fought on the basis of righteousness.2491.

ਧੰਨਿਜੀਓਤਿਹਕੋਜਗਮਹਿਮੁਖਤੇਹਰਿਚਿਤਮਹਿਜੁਧੁਬਿਚਾਰੈ॥
ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਉਣਾ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ (ਜੋ) ਮੁਖ ਤੋਂ ਹਰਿ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ) ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਯੁੱਧ (ਕਰਨ ਦਾ) ਵਿਚਾਰ ਪਾਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
Bravo to the soul of that person, who remembers the Lord through his mouth and reflects in his mind about the war of righteousness
ਦੇਹਅਨਿਤਨਨਿਤਰਹੈਜਸੁਨਾਵਚੜੈਭਵਸਾਗਰਤਾਰੈ॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਦੇਹ ਅਨਿਤ ਹੈ, ਨਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹੇਗੀ। (ਜੋ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਧਰਮ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਕੇ) ਯਸ਼ ਦੀ ਬੇੜੀ ਉਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਤਰ ਜਾਏਗਾ।
Who considers this body the war of righteousness, who considers this body as transient, ascends the boat of Lords’ praise a
ਧੀਰਜਧਾਮਬਨਾਇਇਹੈਤਨਬੁਧਿਸੁਦੀਪਕਜਿਉਉਜੀਆਰੈ॥
ਇਸ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਧੀਰਜ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਬਣਾ ਲਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੀਪਕ ਵਾਂਗ (ਇਸ ਵਿਚ) ਜਗਾ ਲਵੋ।
ਗਿਆਨਹਿਕੀਬਢਨੀਮਨਹੁਹਾਥਲੈਕਾਤਰਤਾਕੁਤਵਾਰਬੁਹਾਰੈ॥੨੪੯੨॥
ਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਝਾੜੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਰੂਪ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ, ਕਾਇਰਤਾ ਰੂਪ ਕੂੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੂੰਝ ਦਿਓ ॥੨੪੯੨॥
Who makes this body as the abode of forbearance and enlightens it with the lamp of intellect and who taking the broom of knowledge in his hand sweeps away the rubbish of cowardice.2492.
