ਭਗਤਿਨਿਰਾਲੀਅਲਾਹਦੀਜਾਪੈਗੁਰਵੀਚਾਰਿ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਅਨੋਖੀ ਹੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ।
The worship of the Lord is unique - it is known only by reflecting upon the Guru.
ਨਾਨਕਨਾਮੁਹਿਰਦੈਵਸੈਭੈਭਗਤੀਨਾਮਿਸਵਾਰਿ॥੯॥੧੪॥੩੬॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਡਰ-ਅਦਬ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੯॥੧੪॥੩੬॥
O Nanak, one whose mind is filled with the Naam, through the Lord's Fear and devotion, is embellished with the Naam. ||9||14||36||
ਆਸਾਮਹਲਾ੩॥
Aasaa, Third Mahalaa:
ਅਨਰਸਮਹਿਭੋਲਾਇਆਬਿਨੁਨਾਮੈਦੁਖਪਾਇ॥
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝ ਕੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਿੰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
He wanders around, engrossed in other pleasures, but without the Naam, he suffers in pain.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁਪੁਰਖੁਨਭੇਟਿਓਜਿਸਚੀਬੂਝਬੁਝਾਇ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਅਕਲ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
He does not meet the True Guru, the Primal Being, who imparts true understanding. ||1||
ਏਮਨਮੇਰੇਬਾਵਲੇਹਰਿਰਸੁਚਖਿਸਾਦੁਪਾਇ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਝੱਲੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰੱਸ ਚੱਖ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਲੈ।
O my insane mind, drink in the sublime essence of the Lord, and savor its taste.
ਅਨਰਸਿਲਾਗਾਤੂੰਫਿਰਹਿਬਿਰਥਾਜਨਮੁਗਵਾਇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗਵਾ ਗਵਾ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਭਟਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Attached to other pleasures, you wander around, and your life wastes away uselessly. ||1||Pause||
ਇਸੁਜੁਗਮਹਿਗੁਰਮੁਖਨਿਰਮਲੇਸਚਿਨਾਮਿਰਹਹਿਲਿਵਲਾਇ॥
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
In this age, the Gurmukhs are pure; they remain absorbed in the love of the True Name.
ਵਿਣੁਕਰਮਾਕਿਛੁਪਾਈਐਨਹੀਕਿਆਕਰਿਕਹਿਆਜਾਇ॥੨॥
ਪਰ ਕੀਹ ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾਏ? ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ॥੨॥
Without the destiny of good karma, nothing can be obtained; what can we say or do? ||2||
ਆਪੁਪਛਾਣਹਿਸਬਦਿਮਰਹਿਮਨਹੁਤਜਿਵਿਕਾਰ॥
(ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ) ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਪੜਤਾਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰ-ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਨ ਰਸਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
He understands his own self, and dies in the Word of the Shabad; he banishes corruption from his mind.
ਗੁਰਸਰਣਾਈਭਜਿਪਏਬਖਸੇਬਖਸਣਹਾਰ॥੩॥
ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਹੀ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿੰਦ ਹਰੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
He hurries to the Guru's Sanctuary, and is forgiven by the Forgiving Lord. ||3||
ਬਿਨੁਨਾਵੈਸੁਖੁਨਪਾਈਐਨਾਦੁਖੁਵਿਚਹੁਜਾਇ॥
ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸੁਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ, ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
Without the Name, peace is not obtained, and pain does not depart from within.
ਇਹੁਜਗੁਮਾਇਆਮੋਹਿਵਿਆਪਿਆਦੂਜੈਭਰਮਿਭੁਲਾਇ॥੪॥
ਪਰ ਇਹ ਜਗਤ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਨਾਮ ਭੁਲ ਕੇ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
This world is engrossed in attachment to Maya; it has gone astray in duality and doubt. ||4||
ਦੋਹਾਗਣੀਪਿਰਕੀਸਾਰਨਜਾਣਹੀਕਿਆਕਰਿਕਰਹਿਸੀਗਾਰੁ॥
ਛੁੱਟੜਾਂ (ਭੈੜੀਆਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ) ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੀਆਂ, ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੀ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
The forsaken soul-brides do not know the value of their Husband Lord; how can they decorate themselves?
ਅਨਦਿਨੁਸਦਾਜਲਦੀਆਫਿਰਹਿਸੇਜੈਰਵੈਨਭਤਾਰੁ॥੫॥
ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ (ਅੰਦਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਸੜਦੀਆਂ ਫਿਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਖਸਮ ਕਦੇ ਸੇਜ ਉਤੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੫॥
Night and day, they continually burn, and they do not enjoy the Bed of their Husband Lord. ||5||
ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀਮਹਲੁਪਾਇਆਵਿਚਹੁਆਪੁਗਵਾਇ॥
ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਥਾਂ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
The happy soul-brides obtain the Mansion of His Presence, eradicating their self-conceit from within.
ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀਸੀਗਾਰੀਆਅਪਣੇਸਹਿਲਈਆਮਿਲਾਇ॥੬॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
They decorate themselves with the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and their Husband Lord unites them with Himself. ||6||
ਮਰਣਾਮਨਹੁਵਿਸਾਰਿਆਮਾਇਆਮੋਹੁਗੁਬਾਰੁ॥
ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਲੋਕ ਮੌਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਭੁਲਾ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
He has forgotten death, in the darkness of attachment to Maya.
ਮਨਮੁਖਮਰਿਮਰਿਜੰਮਹਿਭੀਮਰਹਿਜਮਦਰਿਹੋਹਿਖੁਆਰੁ॥੭॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਰ ਕੇ ਜੰਮਣ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਮ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੭॥
The self-willed manmukhs die again and again, and are reborn; they die again, and are miserable at the Gate of Death. ||7||
ਆਪਿਮਿਲਾਇਅਨੁਸੇਮਿਲੇਗੁਰਸਬਦਿਵੀਚਾਰਿ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਲਿਆ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
They alone are united, whom the Lord unites with Himself; they contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਨਾਨਕਨਾਮਿਸਮਾਣੇਮੁਖਉਜਲੇਤਿਤੁਸਚੈਦਰਬਾਰਿ॥੮॥੨੨॥੧੫॥੩੭॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਖ਼-ਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੮॥੨੨॥੧੫॥੩੭॥
O Nanak, they are absorbed in the Naam; their faces are radiant, in that True Court. ||8||22||15||37||
ਆਸਾਮਹਲਾ੫ਅਸਟਪਦੀਆਘਰੁ੨॥
ਰਾਗ ਆਸਾ, ਘਰ ੨ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਅੱਠ-ਬੰਦਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ।
Aasaa, Fifth Mahalaa, Ashtapadees, Second House:
ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਪੰਚਮਨਾਏਪੰਚਰੁਸਾਏ॥
(ਆਤਮਕ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ-ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਤ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਦਇਆ ਧਰਮ ਧੀਰਜ-ਇਹ) ਪੰਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਫੁਲਤ ਕਰ ਲਏ, ਤੇ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਪੰਜੇ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ ਕਰ ਲਏ,
When the five virtues were reconciled, and the five passions were estranged,
ਪੰਚਵਸਾਏਪੰਚਗਵਾਏ॥੧॥
(ਸਤ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਆਦਿਕ) ਪੰਜ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ) ਵਸਾ ਲਏ, ਤੇ, ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਪੰਜੇ (ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤੇ ॥੧॥
I enshrined the five within myself, and cast out the other five. ||1||
ਇਨੑਬਿਧਿਨਗਰੁਵੁਠਾਮੇਰੇਭਾਈ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੀਰ! ਇਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ-ਨਗਰ ਵੱਸ ਪਿਆ,
In this way, the village of my body became inhabited, O my Siblings of Destiny.
ਦੁਰਤੁਗਇਆਗੁਰਿਗਿਆਨੁਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਈ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਵਿਕਾਰ-ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਪੱਕੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Vice departed, and the Guru's spiritual wisdom was implanted within me. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਚਧਰਮਕੀਕਰਿਦੀਨੀਵਾਰਿ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਗਿਆਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਿੱਤ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਵਾੜ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ,
The fence of true Dharmic religion has been built around it.
ਫਰਹੇਮੁਹਕਮਗੁਰਗਿਆਨੁਬੀਚਾਰਿ॥੨॥
ਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਚ-ਮੰਡਲ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਿੜਕ (ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ) ਪੱਕੇ ਕਰ ਲਏ ॥੨॥
The spiritual wisdom and reflective meditation of the Guru has become its strong gate. ||2||
ਨਾਮੁਖੇਤੀਬੀਜਹੁਭਾਈਮੀਤ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਰੀਰ-ਪੈਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਕਰੋ,
So plant the seed of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, O friends, O Siblings of Destiny.
ਸਉਦਾਕਰਹੁਗੁਰੁਸੇਵਹੁਨੀਤ॥੩॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਲਵੋ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ-ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ! ॥੩॥
Deal only in the constant service of the Guru. ||3||
ਸਾਂਤਿਸਹਜਸੁਖਕੇਸਭਿਹਾਟ॥
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੱਟ (ਸਾਰੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ) ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ, ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ, ਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਹੱਟ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
With intuitive peace and happiness, all the shops are filled.
ਸਾਹਵਾਪਾਰੀਏਕੈਥਾਟ॥੪॥
ਜੇਹੜੇ (ਸਿੱਖ-) ਵਣਜਾਰੇ (ਗੁਰੂ-) ਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ-ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥
The Banker and the dealers dwell in the same place. ||4||
ਜੇਜੀਆਡੰਨੁਕੋਲਏਨਜਗਾਤਿ॥
ਕੋਈ (ਪਾਪ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸੌਦੇ ਉਤੇ) ਜਜ਼ੀਆ ਡੰਨ ਮਸੂਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾ ਸਕਦਾ (ਕੋਈ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਰਾਬੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ),
There is no tax on non-believers, nor any fines or taxes at death.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿਕਰਿਦੀਨੀਧੁਰਕੀਛਾਪ॥੫॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਹੋਈ ਹੋਈ ਮਾਫ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਮੋਹਰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੫॥
The True Guru has set the Seal of the Primal Lord upon these goods. ||5||
ਵਖਰੁਨਾਮੁਲਦਿਖੇਪਚਲਾਵਹੁ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਤੁਸੀ ਭੀ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਲੱਦ ਕੇ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰੋ,
So load the merchandise of the Naam, and set sail with your cargo.
ਲੈਲਾਹਾਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਘਰਿਆਵਹੁ॥੬॥
(ਉੱਚੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਲਾਭ ਖੱਟੋ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੋ ॥੬॥
Earn your profit, as Gurmukh, and you shall return to your own home. ||6||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁਸਾਹੁਸਿਖਵਣਜਾਰੇ॥
ਗੁਰੂ (ਹੀ ਇਸ ਸਰਮਾਏ ਦਾ) ਸਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਵਣਜ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
The True Guru is the Banker, and His Sikhs are the traders.
ਪੂੰਜੀਨਾਮੁਲੇਖਾਸਾਚੁਸਮ੍ਹਾਰੇ॥੭॥
ਐਸੇ ਸਿਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਂਭ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਲੇਖਾ-ਹਿਸਾਬ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ ॥੭॥
Their merchandise is the Naam, and meditation on the True Lord is their account. ||7||
ਸੋਵਸੈਇਤੁਘਰਿਜਿਸੁਗੁਰੁਪੂਰਾਸੇਵ॥
ਉਹ ਇਸ (ਐਸੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-) ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ,
One who serves the True Guru dwells in this house.
ਅਬਿਚਲਨਗਰੀਨਾਨਕਦੇਵ॥੮॥੧॥
ਤੇ ਜੋ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਡੋਲਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਨਗਰੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ॥੮॥੧॥
O Nanak, the Divine City is eternal. ||8||1||
