ਤ੍ਰਾਸਮਿਟੈਜਮਪੰਥਕੀਜਾਸੁਬਸੈਮਨਿਨਾਉ॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੱਸ ਪਏ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਸਹਮ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ)।
One whose heart is filled with the Name shall have no fear on the path of death.
ਗਤਿਪਾਵਹਿਮਤਿਹੋਇਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਮਹਲੀਪਾਵਹਿਠਾਉ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ, ਤੇਰੀ ਅਕਲ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਗੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ।
He shall obtain salvation, and his intellect shall be enlightened; he will find his place in the Mansion of the Lord's Presence.
ਤਾਹੂਸੰਗਿਨਧਨੁਚਲੈਗ੍ਰਿਹਜੋਬਨਨਹਰਾਜ॥
(ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਛੱਡ, ਧਨ, ਘਰ ਜੁਆਨੀ, ਰਾਜ ਕਿਸੇ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨੇ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਾ;
Neither wealth, nor household, nor youth, nor power shall go along with you.
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿਸਿਮਰਤਰਹਹੁਇਹੈਤੁਹਾਰੈਕਾਜ॥
ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਬੱਸ! ਇਹੀ ਅੰਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਆਵੇਗਾ।
In the Society of the Saints, meditate in remembrance on the Lord. This alone shall be of use to you.
ਤਾਤਾਕਛੂਨਹੋਈਹੈਜਉਤਾਪਨਿਵਾਰੈਆਪ॥
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਹੋ ਰਹੁ) ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ (ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ) ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਮਾਨਸਕ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਰਹਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
There will be no burning at all, when He Himself takes away your fever.
ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੈਨਾਨਕਹਮਹਿਆਪਹਿਮਾਈਬਾਪ॥੩੨॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਸਾਡੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩੨॥
O Nanak, the Lord Himself cherishes us; He is our Mother and Father. ||32||

ਥਾਕੇਬਹੁਬਿਧਿਘਾਲਤੇਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿਨਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾਲਾਥ॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮਾਇਆ-ਗ੍ਰਸੇ ਜੀਵ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੌੜ-ਭੱਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਰੱਜਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮੁੱਕਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ;
They have grown weary, struggling in all sorts of ways; but they are not satisfied, and their thirst is not quenched.
ਸੰਚਿਸੰਚਿਸਾਕਤਮੂਏਨਾਨਕਮਾਇਆਨਸਾਥ॥੧॥
ਮਾਇਆ ਜੋੜ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਾਇਆ ਭੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਨਿਭਦੀ ॥੧॥
Gathering in and hoarding what they can, the faithless cynics die, O Nanak, but the wealth of Maya does not go with them in the end. ||1||

ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਭੀ ਇਥੇ ਸਦਾ ਬੈਠ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿਣਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਪੈਰ ਪਸਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ? (ਕਿਉਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਰੇ ਖਿਲਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ?)
T'HAT'HA: Nothing is permanent - why do you stretch out your feet?
ਅਨਿਕਬੰਚਬਲਛਲਕਰਹੁਮਾਇਆਏਕਉਪਾਵ॥
ਤੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਹੀ ਕਈ ਪਾਪੜ ਵੇਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ, ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਠੱਗੀਆਂ-ਫ਼ਰੇਬ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ।
You commit so many fraudulent and deceitful actions as you chase after Maya.
ਥੈਲੀਸੰਚਹੁਸ੍ਰਮੁਕਰਹੁਥਾਕਿਪਰਹੁਗਾਵਾਰ॥
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਤੂੰ ਧਨ ਜੋੜ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ, (ਧਨ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਦੌੜ-ਭੱਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇ ਥੱਕ-ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
You work to fill up your bag, you fool, and then you fall down exhausted.
ਮਨਕੈਕਾਮਿਨਆਵਈਅੰਤੇਅਉਸਰਬਾਰ॥
ਪਰ ਅੰਤ ਸਮੇ ਇਹ ਧਨ ਤੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਤਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਵੇਗਾ।
But this shall be of no use to you at all at that very last instant.
ਥਿਤਿਪਾਵਹੁਗੋਬਿਦਭਜਹੁਸੰਤਹਕੀਸਿਖਲੇਹੁ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ (ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ) ਮਿਲੇਗੀ।
You shall find stability only by vibrating upon the Lord of the Universe, and accepting the Teachings of the Saints.
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਕਰਹੁਸਦਏਕਸਿਉਇਆਸਾਚਾਅਸਨੇਹੁ॥
ਸਦਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ (ਦਿਲੀ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬਣਾ। ਇਹੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
Embrace love for the One Lord forever - this is true love!
ਕਾਰਨਕਰਨਕਰਾਵਨੋਸਭਬਿਧਿਏਕੈਹਾਥ॥
(ਪਰ) (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਇਹ ਜੀਵ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ ਬੇ-ਵੱਸ) ਹਨ।
He is the Doer, the Cause of causes. All ways and means are in His Hands alone.
ਜਿਤੁਜਿਤੁਲਾਵਹੁਤਿਤੁਤਿਤੁਲਗਹਿਨਾਨਕਜੰਤਅਨਾਥ॥੩੩॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਜਿੱਧਰ ਤੂੰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਧਰ ਹੀ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹਰੇਕ ਸਬਬ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਕਰਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੩੩॥
Whatever You attach me to, to that I am attached; O Nanak, I am just a helpless creature. ||33||

ਦਾਸਹਏਕੁਨਿਹਾਰਿਆਸਭੁਕਛੁਦੇਵਨਹਾਰ॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ (ਇਹ ਨਿਸਚਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ) ਕਿ ਹਰੇਕ ਦਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
His slaves have gazed upon the One Lord, the Giver of everything.
ਸਾਸਿਸਾਸਿਸਿਮਰਤਰਹਹਿਨਾਨਕਦਰਸਅਧਾਰ॥੧॥
(ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਟੇਕ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ) ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਸ ਸੁਆਸ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
They continue to contemplate Him with each and every breath; O Nanak, the Blessed Vision of His Darshan is their Support. ||1||

ਦਦਾਦਾਤਾਏਕੁਹੈਸਭਕਉਦੇਵਨਹਾਰ॥
ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ (ਐਸਾ) ਦਾਤਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਿਜ਼ਕ ਅਪੜਾਣ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਥ ਹੈ,
DADDA: The One Lord is the Great Giver; He is the Giver to all.
ਦੇਂਦੇਤੋਟਿਨਆਵਈਅਗਨਤਭਰੇਭੰਡਾਰ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਭਰੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ, ਵੰਡਦਿਆਂ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੋਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ।
There is no limit to His Giving. His countless warehouses are filled to overflowing.
ਦੈਨਹਾਰੁਸਦਜੀਵਨਹਾਰਾ॥
ਦਾਤਾਰ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ,
The Great Giver is alive forever.
ਮਨਮੂਰਖਕਿਉਤਾਹਿਬਿਸਾਰਾ॥
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ?
O foolish mind, why have you forgotten Him?
ਦੋਸੁਨਹੀਕਾਹੂਕਉਮੀਤਾ॥
ਪਰ ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਕਿਸੇ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦੋਸ਼ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ (ਕਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ)
No one is at fault, my friend.
ਮਾਇਆਮੋਹਬੰਧੁਪ੍ਰਭਿਕੀਤਾ॥
(ਅਸਲ ਗੱਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਵਿਚ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
God created the bondage of emotional attachment to Maya.
ਦਰਦਨਿਵਾਰਹਿਜਾਕੇਆਪੇ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀਆਂ) ਚੋਭਾਂ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
He Himself removes the pains
ਨਾਨਕਤੇਤੇਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਧ੍ਰਾਪੇ॥੩੪॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮੁਕਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ) ॥੩੪॥
of the Gurmukh; O Nanak, he is fulfilled. ||34||

ਧਰਜੀਅਰੇਇਕਟੇਕਤੂਲਾਹਿਬਿਡਾਨੀਆਸ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ (ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ) ਦੀ ਆਸ ਲਾਹ ਦੇ।
O my soul, grasp the Support of the One Lord; give up your hopes in others.
ਨਾਨਕਨਾਮੁਧਿਆਈਐਕਾਰਜੁਆਵੈਰਾਸਿ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਕੰਮ ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
O Nanak, meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, your affairs shall be resolved. ||1||

ਧਧਾਧਾਵਤਤਉਮਿਟੈਸੰਤਸੰਗਿਹੋਇਬਾਸੁ॥
ਜੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਬਹਣ-ਖਲੋਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ, ਤਾਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਬੇ-ਸਬਰੀ ਵਾਲੀ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
DHADHA: The mind's wanderings cease, when one comes to dwell in the Society of the Saints.
ਧੁਰਤੇਕਿਰਪਾਕਰਹੁਆਪਿਤਉਹੋਇਮਨਹਿਪਰਗਾਸੁ॥
(ਪਰ ਇਹ ਕੋਈ ਸੌਖੀ ਖੇਡ ਨਹੀਂ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਉਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸੇ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸਹੀ ਸੂਝ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਮੁੱਕਦੀ ਹੈ)।
If the Lord is Merciful from the very beginning, then one's mind is enlightened.
ਧਨੁਸਾਚਾਤੇਊਸਚਸਾਹਾ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਗਿਆਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਅਸਲ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਉਹ ਹਨ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਹੈ,
Those who have the true wealth are the true bankers.
ਹਰਿਹਰਿਪੂੰਜੀਨਾਮਬਿਸਾਹਾ॥
ਜੋ ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਦਾ ਵਣਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The Lord, Har, Har, is their wealth, and they trade in His Name.
ਧੀਰਜੁਜਸੁਸੋਭਾਤਿਹਬਨਿਆ॥
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਗੰਭੀਰਤਾ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸੋਭਾ ਖੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ,
Patience, glory and honor come to those
ਹਰਿਹਰਿਨਾਮੁਸ੍ਰਵਨਜਿਹਸੁਨਿਆ॥
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਮ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ (ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ) ਸੁਣਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
who listen to the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਜਿਹਘਟਿਰਹੇਸਮਾਈ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ,
That Gurmukh whose heart remains merged with the Lord,
ਨਾਨਕਤਿਹਜਨਮਿਲੀਵਡਾਈ॥੩੫॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਵਡਿਆਈ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩੫॥
O Nanak, obtains glorious greatness. ||35||

ਨਾਨਕਨਾਮੁਨਾਮੁਜਪੁਜਪਿਆਅੰਤਰਿਬਾਹਰਿਰੰਗਿ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਕੰਮ-ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ (ਕਿਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ)
O Nanak, one who chants the Naam, and meditates on the Naam with love inwardly and outwardly,
ਗੁਰਿਪੂਰੈਉਪਦੇਸਿਆਨਰਕੁਨਾਹਿਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘੋਰ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੋਂਹਦਾ ॥੧॥
receives the Teachings from the Perfect Guru; he joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and does not fall into hell. ||1||

ਨੰਨਾਨਰਕਿਪਰਹਿਤੇਨਾਹੀ॥
ਉਹ ਘੋਰ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਟੋਏ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੇ,
NANNA: Those whose minds and bodies are filled with the Naam,
ਜਾਕੈਮਨਿਤਨਿਨਾਮੁਬਸਾਹੀ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਤਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
the Name of the Lord, shall not fall into hell.
ਨਾਮੁਨਿਧਾਨੁਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਜੋਜਪਤੇ॥
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ,
Those Gurmukhs who chant the treasure of the Naam,
ਬਿਖੁਮਾਇਆਮਹਿਨਾਓਇਖਪਤੇ॥
ਉਹ (ਫਿਰ) ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਵਿਚ (ਦੌੜ-ਭਜ ਕਰਦੇ) ਨਹੀਂ ਖਪਦੇ।
are not destroyed by the poison of Maya.
ਨੰਨਾਕਾਰੁਨਹੋਤਾਤਾਕਹੁ॥
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ-ਸਫ਼ਰ ਵਿਚ (ਮਾਇਆ) ਕੋਈ ਰੋਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੀ,
Those who have been given the Mantra of the Naam by the Guru,
ਨਾਮੁਮੰਤ੍ਰੁਗੁਰਿਦੀਨੋਜਾਕਹੁ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਨਾਮ-ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
