ਤੂੰ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਕੁਕਰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ?

ਨਿਰਲੱਜ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੀ ਰਹੀ ਹੈਂ?

ਮੈਂ ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ

ਜਿੱਥੇ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੨੭੬॥
How is it that you lost all sense of shame ? That you have done such a bad deed; I shall go now where Ram has gone. '276.

ਕੁਸਮ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਛੰਦ
KUSMA BACCHITAR STANZA
ਤਿਨਬਨਬਾਸੀਰਘੁਬਰਜਾਨੈ॥
ਉਸ (ਭਰਤ) ਨੇ ਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਵਾਸੀ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ
ਦੁਖਸੁਖਸਮਕਰਸੁਖਦੁਖਮਾਨੈ॥
(ਬਣ ਦੇ) ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਘਰ ਦੇ) ਸੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਅਤੇ (ਘਰ ਦੇ) ਸੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਣ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਜਿਹਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ।
“The people residing in the forest, know Raghuvir Ram and consider his suffering and comfort as their own.
ਬਲਕਲਧਰਕਰਅਬਬਨਜੈਹੈਂ॥
(ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗਾ-) ਬ੍ਰਿਛਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਛਿੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਹੁਣ (ਮੈਂ) ਬਣ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ
ਰਘੁਪਤਸੰਗਹਮਬਨਫਲਖੈਹੈਂ॥੨੭੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਬਣ ਦੇ ਫਲ ਖਾਵਾਂਗਾ ॥੨੭੭॥
“Now I shall wear the rind of the tree and go to the forest and shall eat the forest fruit with ram.”277.
ਇਮਕਹਾਬਚਨਾਘਰਬਰਛੋਰੇ॥
(ਭਰਤ ਨੇ) ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਬਾਰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
ਬਲਕਲਧਰਿਤਨਭੂਖਨਤੋਰੇ॥
ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਦੀਆਂ ਛਿੱਲਾਂ ਸਰੀਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਭੂਖਣ (ਗਹਿਣੇ) ਤੋੜ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
Saying this Bharat left his home and breaking the ornaments he threw them away and wore the bark-peel.
ਅਵਧਿਸਜਾਰੇਅਵਧਹਿਛਾਡਯੋ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਦਸ਼ਰਥ ਦਾ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ (ਭਰਤ ਨੇ) ਅਯੁੱਧਿਆ ਨਗਰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਰਘੁਪਤਿਪਗਤਰਕਰਘਰਮਾਡਿਯੋ॥੨੭੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਘਰ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੨੭੮॥
He performed the death ceremony of king Dasrath and left Oudh and concentrated on abiding at the feet of Ram.278.
ਲਖਿਜਲਥਲਕਹਤਜਿਕੁਲਧਾਏ॥
ਜਲਾਂ ਥਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੁਰੇ
ਮਨੁਮਨਸੰਗਿਲੈਤਿਹਠਾਆਏ॥
ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਂ ਮੁਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਆ ਗਏ (ਜਿੱਥੇ ਰਾਮ ਟਿਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ)।
The forest-dwellers, seeing the strong army of Bharat, came alongwith the sages and reached the place where Ram was staying.
ਲਖਿਬਲਰਾਮੰਖਲਦਲਭੀਰੰ॥
ਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਸੈਨਾ ਦੀ (ਆਮਦ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਸਮਝਿਆ) ਜੋ (ਕਿਸੇ) ਵੈਰੀ ਦਾ ਲਸ਼ਕਰ (ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ)।
ਗਹਿਧਨਪਾਣੰਸਿਤਧਰਤੀਰੰ॥੨੭੯॥
(ਇਸ ਲਈ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਿੱਖਾ ਤੀਰ ਧਰ ਲਿਆ ॥੨੭੯॥
Seeing the strong force ram thought that some tyrants had come to attack, therefore he held the bow and arrows in his hands.279.
ਗਹਿਧਨੁਰਾਮੰਸਰਬਰਪੂਰੰ॥
ਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਬਲ ਨਾਲ ਤੀਰ (ਧਰਿਆ ਤਾਂ)
ਅਰਬਰਥਹਰੇਖਲਦਲਸੂਰੰ॥
ਇੰਦਰ ਕੰਬਣ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਵਿਆਕੁਲ ਹੋਣ ਲੱਗਾ।
Ram taking his bow in his hand began to discharge arrow and seeing this Indra, sun etc. trembled with fear.
ਨਰਬਰਹਰਖੇਘਰਘਰਅਮਰੰ॥
ਘਰ-ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਲੇ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ,
ਅਮਰਰਿਧਰਕੇਲਹਿਕਰਿਸਮਰੰ॥੨੮੦॥
ਪਰ ਯੁੱਧ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਇਆ) ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਦੈਂਤ ਧੜਕ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ॥੨੮੦॥
Seeing this the forest-dwellers felt pleased in their dwelling places, but the gods of Amarpura seeing this battle became anxious.280.
ਤਬਚਿਤਅਪਨੇਭਰਥਰਜਾਨੀ॥
ਜਦ ਭਰਤ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ (ਇਹ ਗੱਲ) ਜਾਣੀ
ਰਨਰੰਗਰਾਤੇਰਘੁਬਰਮਾਨੀ॥
(ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਲ ਬਲ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਨੇ ਰਣ ਦਾ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਸਿਰਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Then Bharat reflected in his mind that ram was thinking of starting the battle,
ਦਲਬਲਤਜਿਕਰਿਇਕਲੇਨਿਸਰੇ॥
(ਉਹ) ਤਲ ਬਲ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਇਕੱਲੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਆ ਗਏ
ਰਘੁਬਰਨਿਰਖੇਸਭਦੁਖਬਿਸਰੇ॥੨੮੧॥
ਅਤੇ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਭੁੱਲ ਗਏ ॥੨੮੧॥
Therefore he left all his forces, went forward alone and seeing Ram all his sufferings ended.281.
ਦ੍ਰਿਗਜਬਨਿਰਖੇਭਟਮਣਰਾਮੰ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਖੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ
ਸਿਰਧਰਟੇਕਯੰਤਜਕਰਕਾਮੰ॥
ਤਾਂ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕਰਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ 'ਤੇ ਸਿਰ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ (ਮੱਥਾ) ਟੇਕਿਆ।
When Bharat saw with his own eyes the mighty Ram, then abandoning all his desires, Bharat prostrated before him.
ਇਮਗਤਿਲਖਿਕਰਰਘੁਪਤਿਜਾਨੀ॥
ਇਸ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਨੇ (ਇਹ ਗੱਲ) ਜਾਣ ਲਈ
ਭਰਥਰਆਏਤਜਿਰਜਧਾਨੀ॥੨੮੨॥
ਕਿ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਭਰਥ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੨੮੨॥
Seeing this, Ram realized that it was Bharat who had come leaving his capital.282.
ਰਿਪਹਾਨਿਰਖੇਭਰਥਰਜਾਨੇ॥
ਭਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਤਰੂਘਨ (ਰਿਪਹਾ) ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ
ਅਵਧਿਸਮੂਏਤਿਨਮਾਨਮਾਨੇ॥
(ਰਾਮ ਤੇ ਲੱਛਮਣ ਨੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜੇ ਦਸ਼ਰਥ ਦਾ ਦੇਂਹਾਂਤ ਮੰਨ ਲਿਆ।
Seeing Shatrughan and Bharat, Ram recognized them and it came into the mind of ram and Lakshman that king Dasrath had left this world
ਰਘੁਬਰਲਛਮਨਪਰਹਰਬਾਨੰ॥
ਰਾਮ ਤੇ ਲੱਛਮਣ ਵੀ (ਧਨੁਸ਼) ਬਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ
ਗਿਰਤਰਆਏਤਜਅਭਿਮਾਨੰ॥੨੮੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਤੋਂ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਉਤਰ ਆਏ ॥੨੮੩॥
They abandoned their arrow and effacing their displeasure came down from the mountain.283.
ਦਲਬਲਤਜਿਕਰਿਮਿਲਿਗਲਰੋਏ॥
ਦਲ-ਬਲ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ (ਚਾਰੇ ਭਰਾ ਇਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇ) ਗਲ ਮਿਲਕੇ ਰੋਏ (ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੇ-)
ਦੁਖਕਸਿਬਿਧਿਦੀਆਸੁਖਸਭਖੋਏ॥
ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁੱਖ ਖੋਹ ਲਏ ਹਨ।
Leaving the army aside they hugged each other and wept. The providence had given such agony that they had lost all comforts.
ਅਬਘਰਚਲੀਏਰਘੁਬਰਮੇਰੇ॥
(ਭਰਤ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ-) ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ (ਸੁਆਮੀ) ਰਘੁਬਰ! ਹੁਣ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਚਲੋ,
ਤਜਿਹਠਿਲਾਗੇਸਭਪਗਤੇਰੇ॥੨੮੪॥
ਹਠ ਛੱਡ ਦਿਓ। (ਅਸੀਂ) ਸਾਰੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ ॥੨੮੪॥
Bharat said, “O Rahguvir, abandon your persistence and return to your home, because for this very reason all the people had fallen at your feet.”284.
ਰਾਮਬਾਚਭਰਥਸੋਂ॥
ਭਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ-

ਕੰਠਅਭੂਖਨਛੰਦ॥
ਕੰਠ ਅਭੂਖਨ ਛੰਦ
KANTH AABHUSHAN STANZA
ਭਰਥਕੁਮਾਰਨਅਉਹਠਕੀਜੈ॥
ਹੇ ਭਰਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ! ਜ਼ਿੱਦ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ,
ਜਾਹਘਰੈਨਹਮੈਦੁਖਦੀਜੈ॥
ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਓ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਨ ਦਿਓ।
“O Bharat! do not be obstinate, go to your home, do not give me more anguish by staying here
ਰਾਜਕਹਯੋਜੁਹਮੈਹਮਮਾਨੀ॥
(ਜੋ ਕੰਮ) ਰਾਜਾ (ਦਸ਼ਰਥ) ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਹ) ਅਸਾਂ ਮੰਨ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਤ੍ਰਿਯੋਦਸਬਰਖਬਸੈਬਨਧਾਨੀ॥੨੮੫॥
ਤੇਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਲ (ਅਸੀਂ) ਬਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸਾਂਗੇ ॥੨੮੫॥
“Whatever permission has been given to me, I am acting according to that and accordingly I shall remain in the forest for thirteen years (and return in the fourteenth year).285.
ਤ੍ਰਿਯੋਦਸਬਰਖਬਿਤੈਫਿਰਿਐਹੈਂ॥
ਤੇਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਲ ਬੀਤਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ (ਅਸੀਂ) ਫਿਰ ਆਵਾਂਗੇ,
ਰਾਜਸੰਘਾਸਨਛਤ੍ਰਸੁਹੈਹੈਂ॥
(ਫਿਰ) ਰਾਜ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਅਤੇ ਛੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ।
“I shall return after thirteen years and sit on the throne under a canopy.
ਜਾਹੁਘਰੈਸਿਖਮਾਨਹਮਾਰੀ॥
(ਤੂੰ) ਘਰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਮੰਨ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ)
ਰੋਵਤਤੋਰਿਉਤੈਮਹਤਾਰੀ॥੨੮੬॥
ਉਧਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਰੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੨੮੬॥
“Listen to my instruction and return home, your mothers must be weeping there.”286.
ਭਰਥਬਾਚਰਾਮਪ੍ਰਤਿ॥
ਰਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਭਰਥ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ-
