ਗਉੜੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Gauree, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਜਿਸਕਾਦੀਆਪੈਨੈਖਾਇ॥
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ (ਅੰਨ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੱਪੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਪਹਿਨਦਾ ਹੈ,
They wear and eat the gifts from the Lord;
ਤਿਸੁਸਿਉਆਲਸੁਕਿਉਬਨੈਮਾਇ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਲੋਂ ਆਲਸ ਕਰਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਭੀ ਫਬਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੧॥
how can laziness help them, O mother? ||1||
ਖਸਮੁਬਿਸਾਰਿਆਨਕੰਮਿਲਾਗਹਿ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦੀ ਯਾਦ) ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੁੱਝੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Forgetting her Husband Lord, and attaching herself to other affairs,
ਕਉਡੀਬਦਲੇਰਤਨੁਤਿਆਗਹਿ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਉਹ ਨਕਾਰੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਵੱਟੇ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਗਵਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਉਹ ਰਤਨ ਤਾਂ ਸੁੱਟ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਕਉਡੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਭਦੇ ਹਨ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
the soul-bride throws away the precious jewel in exchange for a mere shell. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂਤਿਆਗਿਲਾਗਤਅਨਲੋਭਾ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ (ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ) ਲੋਭ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗਿਆਂ,
Forsaking God, she is attached to other desires.
ਦਾਸਿਸਲਾਮੁਕਰਤਕਤਸੋਭਾ॥੨॥
ਤੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ) ਦਾਸੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੂੰ ਸਲਾਮ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦੀ ॥੨॥
But who has gained honor by saluting the slave? ||2||
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਰਸੁਖਾਵਹਿਖਾਨਪਾਨ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕੂਕਰ ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਚੰਗੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਖਾਣੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪੀਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
They consume food and drink, delicious and sublime as ambrosial nectar.
ਜਿਨਿਦੀਏਤਿਸਹਿਨਜਾਨਹਿਸੁਆਨ॥੩॥
ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ (ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ) ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਕੁੱਤੇ (ਦੇ ਸੁਭਾਅ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦੇ-ਪਛਾਣਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੩॥
But the dog does not know the One who has bestowed these. ||3||
ਕਹੁਨਾਨਕਹਮਲੂਣਹਰਾਮੀ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਨਾ-ਸ਼ੁਕਰੇ ਹਾਂ।
Says Nanak, I have been unfaithful to my own nature.
ਬਖਸਿਲੇਹੁਪ੍ਰਭਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ॥੪॥੭੬॥੧੪੫॥
ਹੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਲੈ ॥੪॥੭੬॥੧੪੫॥
Please forgive me, O God, O Searcher of hearts. ||4||76||145||
ਗਉੜੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Gauree, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਪ੍ਰਭਕੇਚਰਨਮਨਮਾਹਿਧਿਆਨੁ॥
(ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੀਰ!) ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰ।
I meditate on the Feet of God within my mind.
ਸਗਲਤੀਰਥਮਜਨਇਸਨਾਨੁ॥੧॥
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਹੀ) ਸਾਰੇ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
This is my cleansing bath at all the sacred shrines of pilgrimage. ||1||
ਹਰਿਦਿਨੁਹਰਿਸਿਮਰਨੁਮੇਰੇਭਾਈ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੀਰ! ਸਾਰਾ ਦਿਨ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ।
Meditate in remembrance on the Lord every day, O my Siblings of Destiny.
ਕੋਟਿਜਨਮਕੀਮਲੁਲਹਿਜਾਈ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੀ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਮੈਲ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Thus, the filth of millions of incarnations shall be taken away. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿਕੀਕਥਾਰਿਦਮਾਹਿਬਸਾਈ॥
(ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Enshrine the Lord's Sermon within your heart,
ਮਨਬਾਂਛਤਸਗਲੇਫਲਪਾਈ॥੨॥
ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨ-ਲੋੜੀਂਦੇ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
and you shall obtain all the desires of your mind. ||2||
ਜੀਵਨਮਰਣੁਜਨਮੁਪਰਵਾਨੁ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮੌਤ ਤਕ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ) ਕਬੂਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Redeemed is the life, death and birth of those,
ਜਾਕੈਰਿਦੈਵਸੈਭਗਵਾਨੁ॥੩॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
within whose hearts the Lord God abides. ||3||
ਕਹੁਨਾਨਕਸੇਈਜਨਪੂਰੇ॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੁੱਧੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣਦੇ ਹਨ,
Says Nanak, those humble beings are perfect,
ਜਿਨਾਪਰਾਪਤਿਸਾਧੂਧੂਰੇ॥੪॥੭੭॥੧੪੬॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੭੭॥੧੪੬॥
who are blessed with the dust of the feet of the Holy. ||4||77||146||
ਗਉੜੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Gauree, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਖਾਦਾਪੈਨਦਾਮੂਕਰਿਪਾਇ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਦਾਤਾਂ) ਖਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਹਿਨਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲੋਂ ਮੁਕਰਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
They eat and wear what they are given, but still, they deny the Lord.
ਤਿਸਨੋਜੋਹਹਿਦੂਤਧਰਮਰਾਇ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮ-ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਦੂਤ ਆਪਣੀ ਤੱਕ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਰਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥
The messengers of the Righteous Judge of Dharma shall hunt them down. ||1||
ਤਿਸੁਸਿਉਬੇਮੁਖੁਜਿਨਿਜੀਉਪਿੰਡੁਦੀਨਾ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ) ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੀ ਯਾਦ) ਵਲੋਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਮੋੜੀ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈਂ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਜਿੰਦ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਸਰੀਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
They are unfaithful to the One, who has given them body and soul.
ਕੋਟਿਜਨਮਭਰਮਹਿਬਹੁਜੂਨਾ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖ, ਇਥੋਂ ਖੁੰਝ ਕੇ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰੇਂਗਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Through millions of incarnations, for so many lifetimes, they wander lost. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਕਤਕੀਐਸੀਹੈਰੀਤਿ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਮਾਇਆ-ਵੇੜ੍ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਹੀ ਐਸੀ ਹੈ,
Such is the lifestyle of the faithless cynics;
ਜੋਕਿਛੁਕਰੈਸਗਲਬਿਪਰੀਤਿ॥੨॥
ਕਿ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਾਰਾ ਬੇ-ਮੁਖਤਾ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
everything they do is evil. ||2||
ਜੀਉਪ੍ਰਾਣਜਿਨਿਮਨੁਤਨੁਧਾਰਿਆ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਜੀਵ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਦਾ) ਸਹਾਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
Within their minds, they have forgotten that Lord and Master,
ਸੋਈਠਾਕੁਰੁਮਨਹੁਬਿਸਾਰਿਆ॥੩॥
ਉਸ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਕਤ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਭੁਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
who created the soul, breath of life, mind and body. ||3||
ਬਧੇਬਿਕਾਰਲਿਖੇਬਹੁਕਾਗਰ॥
(ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਸਾਕਤ ਦੇ ਇਤਨੇ) ਵਿਕਾਰ ਵਧ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਹੀ ਲਿਖੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Their wickedness and corruption have increased - they are recorded in volumes of books.
ਨਾਨਕਉਧਰੁਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਸੁਖਸਾਗਰ॥੪॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਦਰ ਤੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰ ਤੇ ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ! ਹੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ! (ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਰੱਖ ॥੪॥
O Nanak, they are saved only by the Mercy of God, the Ocean of peace. ||4||
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਤੇਰੀਸਰਣਾਇ॥
ਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ) ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
O Supreme Lord God, I have come to Your Sanctuary.
ਬੰਧਨਕਾਟਿਤਰੈਹਰਿਨਾਇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉਦੂਜਾ॥੭੮॥੧੪੭॥
ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ (ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਬੰਧਨ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ॥੭੮॥੧੪੭॥
Break my bonds, and carry me across, with the Lord's Name. ||1||Second Pause||78||147||
ਗਉੜੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Gauree, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਅਪਨੇਲੋਭਕਉਕੀਨੋਮੀਤੁ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਵੇਖੋ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੀ ਉਦਾਰਤਾ) ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
For their own advantage, they make God their friend.
ਸਗਲਮਨੋਰਥਮੁਕਤਿਪਦੁਦੀਤੁ॥੧॥
(ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰੇ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਭੀ ਦੇ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਵਾਸਨਾ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ ॥੧॥
He fulfills all their desires, and blesses them with the state of liberation. ||1||
ਐਸਾਮੀਤੁਕਰਹੁਸਭੁਕੋਇ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਹਰੇਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ (ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ) ਮਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾਓ,
Everyone should make Him such a friend.
ਜਾਤੇਬਿਰਥਾਕੋਇਨਹੋਇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਜਿਸ (ਦੇ ਦਰ) ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
No one goes away empty-handed from Him. ||1||Pause||
ਅਪੁਨੈਸੁਆਇਰਿਦੈਲੈਧਾਰਿਆ॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੀ ਗ਼ਰਜ਼ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਆ ਟਿਕਾਇਆ ਹੈ,
For their own purposes, they enshrine the Lord in the heart;
ਦੂਖਦਰਦਰੋਗਸਗਲਬਿਦਾਰਿਆ॥੨॥
(ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਰਦ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
all pain, suffering and disease are taken away. ||2||
ਰਸਨਾਗੀਧੀਬੋਲਤਰਾਮ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜੀਭ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉੱਚਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਤਾਂਘ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ,
Their tongues learn the habit of chanting the Lord's Name,
ਪੂਰਨਹੋਏਸਗਲੇਕਾਮ॥੩॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
and all their works are brought to perfection. ||3||
ਅਨਿਕਬਾਰਨਾਨਕਬਲਿਹਾਰਾ॥
ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਤੋਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵਾਰੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ,
So many times, Nanak is a sacrifice to Him;
ਸਫਲਦਰਸਨੁਗੋਬਿੰਦੁਹਮਾਰਾ॥੪॥੭੯॥੧੪੮॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਸਾਡਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਐਸਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਸਾਰੇ ਫਲ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੭੯॥੧੪੮॥
fruitful is the Blessed Vision, the Darshan, of my Lord of the Universe. ||4||79||148||
ਗਉੜੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Gauree, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਕੋਟਿਬਿਘਨਹਿਰੇਖਿਨਮਾਹਿ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਰੁਕਾਵਟਾਂ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
Millions of obstacles are removed in an instant,
ਹਰਿਹਰਿਕਥਾਸਾਧਸੰਗਿਸੁਨਾਹਿ॥੧॥
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
for those who listen to the Sermon of the Lord, Har, Har, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||
ਪੀਵਤਰਾਮਰਸੁਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਗੁਣਜਾਸੁ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਪੀਂਦਿਆਂ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਸ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ,
They drink in the sublime essence of the Lord's Name, the Ambrosial Elixir.
ਜਪਿਹਰਿਚਰਣਮਿਟੀਖੁਧਿਤਾਸੁ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਜਪ ਕੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਭੁੱਖ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Meditating on the Lord's Feet, hunger is taken away. ||1||Pause||
ਸਰਬਕਲਿਆਣਸੁਖਸਹਜਨਿਧਾਨ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
The treasure of all happiness, celestial peace and poise,
ਜਾਕੈਰਿਦੈਵਸਹਿਭਗਵਾਨ॥੨॥
ਹੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥
are obtained by those, whose hearts are filled with the Lord God. ||2||
