ਜਿਸੁਸਿਮਰਤਡੂਬਤਪਾਹਨਤਰੇ॥੩॥
ਜਿਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਪੱਥਰ-ਦਿਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਕਠੋਰਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ) ਡੁੱਬਣੋਂ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ) ॥੩॥
Remembering Him in meditation, sinking stones are made to float. ||3||
ਸੰਤਸਭਾਕਉਸਦਾਜੈਕਾਰੁ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਉ,
I salute and applaud the Society of the Saints.
ਹਰਿਹਰਿਨਾਮੁਜਨਪ੍ਰਾਨਅਧਾਰੁ॥
ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾਂ (ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ) ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ)।
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is the Support of the breath of life of His servant.
ਕਹੁਨਾਨਕਮੇਰੀਸੁਣੀਅਰਦਾਸਿ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- (ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ) ਮੇਰੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੁਣ ਲਈ,
Says Nanak, the Lord has heard my prayer;
ਸੰਤਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿਮੋਕਉਨਾਮਨਿਵਾਸਿ॥੪॥੨੧॥੯੦॥
ਤੇ ਉਸਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ) ॥੪॥੨੧॥੯੦॥
by the Grace of the Saints, I dwell in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||21||90||
ਗਉੜੀਗੁਆਰੇਰੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Gauree Gwaarayree, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਦਰਸਨਿਅਗਨਿਨਿਵਾਰੀ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ) ਬੁਝਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
By the Blessed Vision of the True Guru's Darshan, the fire of desire is quenched.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਭੇਟਤਹਉਮੈਮਾਰੀ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Meeting the True Guru, egotism is subdued.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਸੰਗਿਨਾਹੀਮਨੁਡੋਲੈ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਮਨ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ) ਡੋਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ,
In the Company of the True Guru, the mind does not waver.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਬਾਣੀਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਬੋਲੈ॥੧॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
The Gurmukh speaks the Ambrosial Word of Gurbani. ||1||
ਸਭੁਜਗੁਸਾਚਾਜਾਸਚਮਹਿਰਾਤੇ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲਈਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ,
He sees the True One pervading the whole world; he is imbued with the True One.
ਸੀਤਲਸਾਤਿਗੁਰਤੇਪ੍ਰਭਜਾਤੇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਠੰਡਾ-ਠਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ (ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
I have become cool and tranquil, knowing God, through the Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਸੰਤਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿਜਪੈਹਰਿਨਾਉ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ,
By the Grace of the Saints, one chants the Lord's Name.
ਸੰਤਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿਹਰਿਕੀਰਤਨੁਗਾਉ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਦਾ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
By the Grace of the Saints, one sings the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises.
ਸੰਤਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿਸਗਲਦੁਖਮਿਟੇ॥
(ਇਸਦਾ ਨਤੀਜਾ ਇਹ ਨਿਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
By the Grace of the Saints, all pains are erased.
ਸੰਤਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿਬੰਧਨਤੇਛੁਟੇ॥੨॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
By the Grace of the Saints, one is released from bondage. ||2||
ਸੰਤਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਤੇਮਿਟੇਮੋਹਭਰਮ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਭਟਕਣ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
By the kind Mercy of the Saints, emotional attachment and doubt are removed.
ਸਾਧਰੇਣਮਜਨਸਭਿਧਰਮ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜੀ ਦਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਧਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ (ਸਾਰ) ਹੈ।
Taking a bath in the dust of the feet of the Holy - this is true Dharmic faith.
ਸਾਧਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਦਇਆਲਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਭੀ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
By the kindness of the Holy, the Lord of the Universe becomes merciful.
ਸਾਧਾਮਹਿਇਹਹਮਰੀਜਿੰਦੁ॥੩॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਭੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਵਾਰਨੇ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
The life of my soul is with the Holy. ||3||
ਕਿਰਪਾਨਿਧਿਕਿਰਪਾਲਧਿਆਵਉ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ, ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
Meditating on the Merciful Lord, the Treasure of Mercy,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿਤਾਬੈਠਣੁਪਾਵਉ॥
ਸਾਧ-ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਅ ਪਰਚਦਾ ਹੈ।
I have obtained a seat in the Saadh Sangat.
ਮੋਹਿਨਿਰਗੁਣਕਉਪ੍ਰਭਿਕੀਨੀਦਇਆ॥
ਮੈਂ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਨ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਦਇਆ ਕੀਤੀ,
I am worthless, but God has been kind to me.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿਨਾਨਕਨਾਮੁਲਇਆ॥੪॥੨੨॥੯੧॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ = ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ ॥੪॥੨੨॥੯੧॥
In the Saadh Sangat, Nanak has taken to the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||22||91||
ਗਉੜੀਗੁਆਰੇਰੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Gauree Gwaarayree, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿਜਪਿਓਭਗਵੰਤੁ॥
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ,
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I meditate on the Lord God.
ਕੇਵਲਨਾਮੁਦੀਓਗੁਰਿਮੰਤੁ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਮੰਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ,
The Guru has given me the Mantra of the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਤਜਿਅਭਿਮਾਨਭਏਨਿਰਵੈਰ॥
(ਉਸ ਮੰਤਰ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਉਹ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ,
Shedding my ego, I have become free of hate.
ਆਠਪਹਰਪੂਜਹੁਗੁਰਪੈਰ॥੧॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਪੂਜੋ ॥੧॥
Twenty-four hours a day, I worship the Guru's Feet. ||1||
ਅਬਮਤਿਬਿਨਸੀਦੁਸਟਬਿਗਾਨੀ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਭੈੜੀ ਤੇ ਬੇ-ਸਮਝੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਤਿ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ,
Now, my evil sense of alienation is eliminated,
ਜਬਤੇਸੁਣਿਆਹਰਿਜਸੁਕਾਨੀ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਮੈਂ ਕੰਨੀਂ ਸੁਣੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
since I have heard the Praises of the Lord with my ears. ||1||Pause||
ਸਹਜਸੂਖਆਨੰਦਨਿਧਾਨ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਰਿ-ਜਸ ਕੰਨੀਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ) ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ, ਸੁਖ ਅਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ-
The Savior Lord is the treasure of intuitive peace, poise and bliss.
ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰਰਖਿਲੇਇਨਿਦਾਨ॥
ਰੱਖਣਹਾਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ (ਸਦਾ) ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
He shall save me in the end.
ਦੂਖਦਰਦਬਿਨਸੇਭੈਭਰਮ॥
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ, ਦਰਦ, ਡਰ, ਵਹਿਮ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
My pains, sufferings, fears and doubts have been erased.
ਆਵਣਜਾਣਰਖੇਕਰਿਕਰਮ॥੨॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ (ਭੀ) ਮੁਕਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
He has mercifully saved me from coming and going in reincarnation. ||2||
ਪੇਖੈਬੋਲੈਸੁਣੈਸਭੁਆਪਿ॥
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਆਪ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ,
He Himself beholds, speaks and hears all.
ਸਦਾਸੰਗਿਤਾਕਉਮਨਜਾਪਿ॥
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਹੈ, ਉਸਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰ।
O my mind, meditate on the One who is always with you.
ਸੰਤਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿਭਇਓਪਰਗਾਸੁ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
By the Grace of the Saints, the Light has dawned.
ਪੂਰਿਰਹੇਏਕੈਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ॥੩॥
ਉਸਨੂੰ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
The One Lord, the Treasure of Excellence, is perfectly pervading everywhere. ||3||
ਕਹਤਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਸੁਣਤਪੁਨੀਤ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੇ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਭੇ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
Pure are those who speak, and sanctified are those who hear and sing,
ਗੁਣਗੋਵਿੰਦਗਾਵਹਿਨਿਤਨੀਤ॥
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ
forever and ever, the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.
ਕਹੁਨਾਨਕਜਾਕਉਹੋਹੁਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
Says Nanak, when the Lord bestows His Mercy,
ਤਿਸੁਜਨਕੀਸਭਪੂਰਨਘਾਲ॥੪॥੨੩॥੯੨॥
(ਉਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਸਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਇਹ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨੩॥੯੨॥
all one's efforts are fulfilled. ||4||23||92||
ਗਉੜੀਗੁਆਰੇਰੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Gauree Gwaarayree, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਬੰਧਨਤੋੜਿਬੋਲਾਵੈਰਾਮੁ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਬੰਧਨ ਤੋੜ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He breaks our bonds, and inspires us to chant the Lord's Name.
ਮਨਮਹਿਲਾਗੈਸਾਚੁਧਿਆਨੁ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਅਟੱਲ ਸੁਰਤ ਬੱਝ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
With the mind centered in meditation on the True Lord,
ਮਿਟਹਿਕਲੇਸਸੁਖੀਹੋਇਰਹੀਐ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ) ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸੁਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ।
anguish is eradicated, and one comes to dwell in peace.
ਐਸਾਦਾਤਾਸਤਿਗੁਰੁਕਹੀਐ॥੧॥
ਸੋ, ਗੁਰੂ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਉੱਚੀ ਦਾਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
Such is the True Guru, the Great Giver. ||1||
ਸੋਸੁਖਦਾਤਾਜਿਨਾਮੁਜਪਾਵੈ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਉਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
He alone is the Giver of peace, who inspires us to chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਕਰਿਕਿਰਪਾਤਿਸੁਸੰਗਿਮਿਲਾਵੈ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
By His Grace, He leads us to merge with Him. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸੁਹੋਇਦਇਆਲੁਤਿਸੁਆਪਿਮਿਲਾਵੈ॥
(ਪਰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋਵੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ (ਹੀ) ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
He unites with Himself those unto whom He has shown His Mercy.
ਸਰਬਨਿਧਾਨਗੁਰੂਤੇਪਾਵੈ॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਫਿਰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
All treasures are received from the Guru.
ਆਪੁਤਿਆਗਿਮਿਟੈਆਵਣਜਾਣਾ॥
ਉਹ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਤਿਆਗ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Renouncing selfishness and conceit, coming and going come to an end.
ਸਾਧਕੈਸੰਗਿਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁਪਛਾਣਾ॥੨॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the Supreme Lord God is recognized. ||2||
ਜਨਊਪਰਿਪ੍ਰਭਭਏਦਇਆਲ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰ-ਸਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਸੇਵਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
God has become merciful to His humble servant.
