ਬਿਆਪਤਹਰਖਸੋਗਬਿਸਥਾਰ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਗ਼ਮੀ ਦਾ ਖਿਲਾਰਾ ਹੈ,
It torments us with the expression of pleasure and pain.
ਬਿਆਪਤਸੁਰਗਨਰਕਅਵਤਾਰ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਜੀਵ ਨਰਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿਤੇ ਸੁਰਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਦੇ ਹਨ,
It torments us through incarnations in heaven and hell.
ਬਿਆਪਤਧਨਨਿਰਧਨਪੇਖਿਸੋਭਾ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਧਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿਤੇ ਕੰਗਾਲ ਹਨ, ਕਿਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹਨ)-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
It is seen to afflict the rich, the poor and the glorious.
ਮੂਲੁਬਿਆਧੀਬਿਆਪਸਿਲੋਭਾ॥੧॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਲੋਭ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਆਪਣਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਪਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
The source of this illness which torments us is greed. ||1||
ਮਾਇਆਬਿਆਪਤਬਹੁਪਰਕਾਰੀ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਤੇਰੀ ਰਚੀ) ਮਾਇਆ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਉਤੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ)।
Maya torments us in so many ways.
ਸੰਤਜੀਵਹਿਪ੍ਰਭਓਟਤੁਮਾਰੀ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
But the Saints live under Your Protection, God. ||1||Pause||
ਬਿਆਪਤਅਹੰਬੁਧਿਕਾਮਾਤਾ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਕੋਈ 'ਹਉ ਹਉ, ਮੈਂ ਮੈਂ' ਦੀ ਅਕਲ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੈ।
It torments us through intoxication with intellectual pride.
ਬਿਆਪਤਪੁਤ੍ਰਕਲਤ੍ਰਸੰਗਿਰਾਤਾ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਤਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।
It torments us through the love of children and spouse.
ਬਿਆਪਤਹਸਤਿਘੋੜੇਅਰੁਬਸਤਾ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ (ਸੁੰਦਰ) ਕੱਪੜਿਆਂ (ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਹੈ),
It torments us through elephants, horses and beautiful clothes.
ਬਿਆਪਤਰੂਪਜੋਬਨਮਦਮਸਤਾ॥੨॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਰੂਪ ਤੇ ਜਵਾਨੀ ਦੇ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੈ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਆਪਣਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਪਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
It torments us through the intoxication of wine and the beauty of youth. ||2||
ਬਿਆਪਤਭੂਮਿਰੰਕਅਰੁਰੰਗਾ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਭੁਇਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਕੀ ਹੈ, ਕਿਤੇ ਕੰਗਾਲ ਹਨ, ਕਿਤੇ ਅਮੀਰ ਹਨ,
It torments landlords, paupers and lovers of pleasure.
ਬਿਆਪਤਗੀਤਨਾਦਸੁਣਿਸੰਗਾ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਮੰਡਲੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਗੀਤ ਨਾਦ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ (ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ),
It torments us through the sweet sounds of music and parties.
ਬਿਆਪਤਸੇਜਮਹਲਸੀਗਾਰ॥
ਕਿਤੇ (ਸੋਹਣੀ) ਸੇਜ, ਹਾਰ-ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਤੇ ਮਹਲ-ਮਾੜੀਆਂ (ਦੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ ਹੈ), ਇਹਨਾਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
It torments us through beautiful beds, palaces and decorations.
ਪੰਚਦੂਤਬਿਆਪਤਅੰਧਿਆਰ॥੩॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਪੰਜੇ ਦੂਤ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਪਾ ਰਹੀ ॥੩॥
It torments us through the darkness of the five evil passions. ||3||
ਬਿਆਪਤਕਰਮਕਰੈਹਉਫਾਸਾ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ (ਆਪਣੇ ਵਲੋਂ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ) ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
It torments those who act, entangled in ego.
ਬਿਆਪਤਿਗਿਰਸਤਬਿਆਪਤਉਦਾਸਾ॥
ਕੋਈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਵਿਰਤ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ,
It torments us through household affairs, and it torments us in renunciation.
ਆਚਾਰਬਿਉਹਾਰਬਿਆਪਤਇਹਜਾਤਿ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਰਸਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਵਿਰਤ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ (ਉੱਚੀ) ਜਾਤਿ ਦੇ ਮਾਣ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ;
It torments us through character, lifestyle and social status.
ਸਭਕਿਛੁਬਿਆਪਤਬਿਨੁਹਰਿਰੰਗਰਾਤ॥੪॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਜੇ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
It torments us through everything, except for those who are imbued with the Love of the Lord. ||4||
ਸੰਤਨਕੇਬੰਧਨਕਾਟੇਹਰਿਰਾਇ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਕੱਟ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Sovereign Lord King has cut away the bonds of His Saints.
ਤਾਕਉਕਹਾਬਿਆਪੈਮਾਇ॥
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਆਪਣਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੀ।
How can Maya torment them?
ਕਹੁਨਾਨਕਜਿਨਿਧੂਰਿਸੰਤਪਾਈ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਹੈ,
Says Nanak, Maya does not draw near those
ਤਾਕੈਨਿਕਟਿਨਆਵੈਮਾਈ॥੫॥੧੯॥੮੮॥
ਮਾਇਆ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁੱਕ ਸਕਦੀ ॥੪॥੧੯॥੮੮॥
who have obtained the dust of the feet of the Saints. ||5||19||88||
ਗਉੜੀਗੁਆਰੇਰੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Gauree Gwaarayree, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਨੈਨਹੁਨੀਦਪਰਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਵਿਕਾਰ॥
ਪਰਾਏ ਰੂਪ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖਣਾ-ਇਹ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨੀਂਦ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
The eyes are asleep in corruption, gazing upon the beauty of another.
ਸ੍ਰਵਣਸੋਏਸੁਣਿਨਿੰਦਵੀਚਾਰ॥
ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਕੰਨ ਸੁੱਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The ears are asleep, listening to slanderous stories.
ਰਸਨਾਸੋਈਲੋਭਿਮੀਠੈਸਾਦਿ॥
ਜੀਭ ਖਾਣ ਦੇ ਲੋਭ ਵਿਚ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ ਸੁੱਤੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
The tongue is asleep, in its desire for sweet flavors.
ਮਨੁਸੋਇਆਮਾਇਆਬਿਸਮਾਦਿ॥੧॥
ਮਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਅਸਚਰਜ ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
The mind is asleep, fascinated by Maya. ||1||
ਇਸੁਗ੍ਰਿਹਮਹਿਕੋਈਜਾਗਤੁਰਹੈ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those who remain awake in this house are very rare;
ਸਾਬਤੁਵਸਤੁਓਹੁਅਪਨੀਲਹੈ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਸਿ-ਪੂੰਜੀ ਸਾਂਭ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
by doing so, they receive the whole thing. ||1||Pause||
ਸਗਲਸਹੇਲੀਅਪਨੈਰਸਮਾਤੀ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਸਕੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ.
All of my companions are intoxicated with their sensory pleasures;
ਗ੍ਰਿਹਅਪੁਨੇਕੀਖਬਰਿਨਜਾਤੀ॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਸੂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦੇ।
they do not know how to guard their own home.
ਮੁਸਨਹਾਰਪੰਚਬਟਵਾਰੇ॥
ਠੱਗਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਡਾਕੂ-
The five thieves have plundered them;
ਸੂਨੇਨਗਰਿਪਰੇਠਗਹਾਰੇ॥੨॥
ਸੁੰਞੇ (ਸਰੀਰ-) ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਹੱਲਾ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
the thugs descend upon the unguarded village. ||2||
ਉਨਤੇਰਾਖੈਬਾਪੁਨਮਾਈ॥
ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਪੰਜਾਂ ਡਾਕੂਆਂ ਤੋਂ) ਨਾਹ ਪਿਉ ਬਚਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਮਾਂ ਬਚਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
Our mothers and fathers cannot save us from them;
ਉਨਤੇਰਾਖੈਮੀਤੁਨਭਾਈ॥
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਾਂਹ ਕੋਈ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਬਚਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਂਹ ਕੋਈ ਭਰਾ ਬਚਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
friends and brothers cannot protect us from them
ਦਰਬਿਸਿਆਣਪਨਾਓਇਰਹਤੇ॥
ਉਹ ਪੰਜੇ ਡਾਕੂ ਨਾਹ ਧਨ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਜੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨਾਹ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਜੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
they cannot be restrained by wealth or cleverness.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿਓਇਦੁਸਟਵਸਿਹੋਤੇ॥੩॥
ਉਹ ਪੰਜੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਾਬੂ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
Only through the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, can those villains be brought under control. ||3||
ਕਰਿਕਿਰਪਾਮੋਹਿਸਾਰਿੰਗਪਾਣਿ॥
ਹੇ ਧਨੁਖ-ਧਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ।
Have Mercy upon me, O Lord, Sustainer of the world.
ਸੰਤਨਧੂਰਿਸਰਬਨਿਧਾਨ॥
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਦੇਹ, ਏਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਹਨ।
The dust of the feet of the Saints is all the treasure I need.
ਸਾਬਤੁਪੂੰਜੀਸਤਿਗੁਰਸੰਗਿ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਬਚਿਆ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
In the Company of the True Guru, one's investment remains intact.
ਨਾਨਕੁਜਾਗੈਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਕੈਰੰਗਿ॥੪॥
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ) ਨਾਨਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੪॥
Nanak is awake to the Love of the Supreme Lord. ||4||
ਸੋਜਾਗੈਜਿਸੁਪ੍ਰਭੁਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਡਾਕੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਓਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He alone is awake, unto whom God shows His Mercy.
ਇਹਪੂੰਜੀਸਾਬਤੁਧਨੁਮਾਲੁ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉਦੂਜਾ॥੨੦॥੮੯॥
ਉਸਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਰਾਸਿ-ਪੂੰਜੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਬਚੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਬਚਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ॥੨੦॥੮੯॥
This investment, wealth and property shall remain intact. ||1||Second Pause||20||89||
ਗਉੜੀਗੁਆਰੇਰੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Gauree Gwaarayree, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਜਾਕੈਵਸਿਖਾਨਸੁਲਤਾਨ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਖ਼ਾਨ ਤੇ ਸੁਲਤਾਨ (ਭੀ) ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹਨ,
Kings and emperors are under His Power.
ਜਾਕੈਵਸਿਹੈਸਗਲਜਹਾਨ॥
ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਹੀ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ,
The whole world is under His Power.
ਜਾਕਾਕੀਆਸਭੁਕਿਛੁਹੋਇ॥
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੀ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
Everything is done by His doing;
ਤਿਸਤੇਬਾਹਰਿਨਾਹੀਕੋਇ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਜੀਵ ਆਕੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥
other than Him, there is nothing at all. ||1||
ਕਹੁਬੇਨੰਤੀਅਪੁਨੇਸਤਿਗੁਰਪਾਹਿ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰ।
Offer your prayers to your True Guru;
ਕਾਜਤੁਮਾਰੇਦੇਇਨਿਬਾਹਿ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ (ਜਨਮ-ਮਨੋਰਥ) ਪੂਰੇ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ, ਭਾਵ (ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇਗਾ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
He will resolve your affairs. ||1||Pause||
ਸਭਤੇਊਚਜਾਕਾਦਰਬਾਰੁ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਬਾਰ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ-ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ (ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ) ਹੈ,
The Darbaar of His Court is the most exalted of all.
ਸਗਲਭਗਤਜਾਕਾਨਾਮੁਅਧਾਰੁ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ (ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ) ਵਾਸਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ,
His Name is the Support of all His devotees.
ਸਰਬਬਿਆਪਿਤਪੂਰਨਧਨੀ॥
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ,
The Perfect Master is pervading everywhere.
ਜਾਕੀਸੋਭਾਘਟਿਘਟਿਬਨੀ॥੨॥
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਫਬਣ ਵਿਖਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, (ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰ) ॥੨॥
His Glory is manifest in each and every heart. ||2||
ਜਿਸੁਸਿਮਰਤਦੁਖਡੇਰਾਢਹੈ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
Remembering Him in meditation, the home of sorrow is abolished.
ਜਿਸੁਸਿਮਰਤਜਮੁਕਿਛੂਨਕਹੈ॥
ਜਿਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ,
Remembering Him in meditation, the Messenger of Death shall not touch you.
ਜਿਸੁਸਿਮਰਤਹੋਤਸੂਕੇਹਰੇ॥
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਨਿਰਦਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਰਮ-ਦਿਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
Remembering Him in meditation, the dry branches become green again.
