ਘਾਇਖਾਇਭਜੇਸੁਰਾਰਦਨਕੋਪੁਓਪਮਿਟਾਇ॥
ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀ (ਦੈਂਤ) ਘਾਇਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤੇਜਹੀਣ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਭਜਣ ਲਗੇ।
ਅੰਧਿਕੰਧਿਫਿਰਿਯੋਤਬੈਜਯਦੁੰਦਭੀਨਬਜਾਇ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਅੰਧਕ ਦੈਂਤ (ਮਸਤੀ ਨਾਲ) ਜਿਤ ਦੇ ਨਗਾਰੇ ਵਜਾ ਕੇ ਘੁੰਮਣ ਲਗਿਆ।
The demons being wounded and becoming weak began to run away and at that time, Andhakasura, resounding his drums turned and moved towards the battlefield.
ਸੂਲਸੈਹਥਿਪਰਿਘਪਟਸਿਬਾਣਓਘਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ॥
ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ੂਲ, ਸੈਹੱਥੀ, ਪਰਘ, ਪੱਟਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਣ ਆਦਿ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ ਹੋਣ ਲਗੇ।
The blows were struck with tridents, swords, arrows and other weapons and arms and the warriors swung and fell
ਪੇਲਿਪੇਲਿਗਿਰੇਸੁਬੀਰਨਖੇਲਜਾਨੁਧਮਾਰ॥੧੭॥
ਧਕਮਧਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਡਿਗ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਮਾਨੋ ਧਮਾਰ (ਨਾਚ) ਖੇਡ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੭॥
It seemed that there was a programme of dance and amorous pastime.17.
ਸੇਲਰੇਲਭਈਤਹਾਅਰੁਤੇਗਤੀਰਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ॥
ਉਥੇ (ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ) ਬਰਛੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ (ਵਾਰ) ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ ਹੋਏ।
ਗਾਹਿਗਾਹਿਫਿਰੇਫਵਜਨਬਾਹਿਬਾਹਿਹਥਿਯਾਰ॥
ਥਾਂ ਥਾਂ ਸੈਨਿਕ ਫਿਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹੋਦਾਹੀ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਚਲਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
With the blows of swords and arrows, there was consternation in the battlefield and striking their weapons, the warriors were stirring up the armies.
ਅੰਗਭੰਗਪਰੇਕਹੂੰਸਰਬੰਗਸ੍ਰੋਨਤਪੂਰ॥
(ਕਿਤੇ) ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਕਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਅੰਗ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਲਥ-ਪਥ ਹੋਏ ਪਏ ਸਨ।
Somewhere the limbless fighters and somewhere the complete bodies are immersed in blood
ਏਕਏਕਬਰੀਅਨੇਕਨਹੇਰਿਹੇਰਿਸੁਹੂਰ॥੧੮॥
ਇਕ ਇਕ (ਯੋਧੇ) ਨੇ ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੂਰਾਂ ਵਰੀਆਂ ਸਨ ॥੧੮॥
The warriors who had attained martyrdom, are wedding the heavenly damsels, after making search for them.18.
ਚਉਰਚੀਰਰਥੀਰਥੋਤਮਬਾਜਰਾਜਅਨੰਤ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਅਨੰਤ ਚੌਰਾਂ, ਬਸਤ੍ਰ, ਘੋੜੇ, ਰਥ, ਰਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਸਨ।
ਸ੍ਰੋਣਕੀਸਰਤਾਉਠੀਸੁਬਿਅੰਤਰੂਪਦੁਰੰਤ॥
ਬਹੁਤ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਰੂਪ ਵਾਲੀ ਲਹੂ ਦੀ ਨਦੀ ਵਗਣ ਲਗੀ ਸੀ।
The garments, chariots, the chariot-riders and many horses are lying hither and thither and a dreadful stream of blood is flowing in the battlefield.
ਸਾਜਬਾਜਕਟੇਕਹੂੰਗਜਰਾਜਤਾਜਅਨੇਕ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਸੁਸ਼ਜਿਤ ਘੋੜੇ ਕਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਹਾਥੀ ਮੁਕੁਟਾਂ ਸਹਿਤ ਪਏ ਸਨ।
Somewhere the bedecked horses and elephants are lying chopped and
ਉਸਟਿਪੁਸਟਿਗਿਰੇਕਹੂੰਰਿਪੁਬਾਚੀਯੰਨਹੀਏਕੁ॥੧੯॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਤਕੜੇ ਊਠ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ (ਜ਼ਿੰਦਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚਿਆ ਸੀ ॥੧੯॥
Somewhere there are heaps of warriors lying down not a single enemy hath remained alive.19.
ਛਾਡਿਛਾਡਿਚਲੇਤਹਾਨ੍ਰਿਪਸਾਜਬਾਜਅਨੰਤ॥
ਅਨੰਤ ਸੁਸਜਿਤ ਘੋੜੇ ਛਡ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਉਥੋਂ ਖਿਸਕ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
ਗਾਜਗਾਜਹਨੇਸਦਾਸਿਵਸੂਰਬੀਰਦੁਰੰਤ॥
ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨੇ ਗਜ ਵਜ ਕੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸੂਰਵੀਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
The kings have abandoned their bedecked horses and elephants and gone away and the god Shiva, shouting very loudly, hath destroyed the mighty warriors.
ਭਾਜਭਾਜਚਲੇਹਠੀਹਥਿਆਰਹਾਥਿਬਿਸਾਰਿ॥
ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਹਠੀ ਯੁੱਧ-ਵੀਰ ਭਜਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ।
ਬਾਣਪਾਣਕਮਾਣਛਾਡਿਸੁਚਰਮਬਰਮਬਿਸਾਰਿ॥੨੦॥
ਕਈ ਕਵਚ, ਢਾਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੀਰ-ਕਮਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ॥੨੦॥
The brave fighters have also abandoned their weapons and gone away, after leaving behind their bows and arrows and steel-armors.20.
ਨਰਾਜਛੰਦ॥
ਨਰਾਜ ਛੰਦ:
ਜਿਤੇਕੁਸੂਰਧਾਈਯੰ॥
ਜਿਤਨੇ ਵੀ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਧਾਵਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਏ ਸਨ,
ਤਿਤੇਕੁਰੁਦ੍ਰਘਾਈਯੰ॥
ਉਤਨੇ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
ਜਿਤੇਕੁਅਉਰਧਾਵਹੀ॥
ਜਿਤਨੇ ਹੋਰ ਧਾਵਾ ਕਰਨਗੇ,
ਤਿਤਿਯੋਮਹੇਸਘਾਵਹੀ॥੨੧॥
ਉਤਨਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ॥੨੧॥
All the warriors who go in front of him, Rudra destroys them all, those who will advance, will also be destroyed by Shiva.21.
ਕਬੰਧਅੰਧਉਠਹੀ॥
ਧੜ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਵਾਹ ਉਠ ਕੇ (ਭਜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ)।
ਬਸੇਖਬਾਣਬੁਠਹੀ॥
ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਬਾਣ-ਬਰਖਾ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ।
The blind (headless) trunks are rising in the battlefield and casting special showers of arrows.
ਪਿਨਾਕਪਾਣਿਤੇਹਣੇ॥
ਅਨੰਤ ਬਣੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ
ਅਨੰਤਸੂਰਮਾਬਣੇ॥੨੨॥
ਸ਼ਿਵ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ॥੨੨॥
Innumerable warriors, shooting arrows from their bows are exhibiting proof of their bravery.22.

ਰਸਾਵਲ ਛੰਦ:

ਸਿਲਹਸੰਜਿਸਜੇ॥
ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਵਚਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਜੇ ਹੋਏ
ਚਹੂੰਓਰਿਗਜੇ॥
ਯੋਧੇ ਚੌਹਾਂ ਪਾਸੇ ਗਜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
Bedecked with the steel-armour, the warriors are thundering on all the four sides.
ਮਹਾਬੀਰਬੰਕੇ॥
(ਉਹ) ਅਜਿਹੇ ਬਾਂਕੇ ਵੀਰ ਸਨ
ਮਿਟੈਨਾਹਿਡੰਕੇ॥੨੩॥
ਕਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਡੰਕਾ ਕਦੇ ਮਿਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੨੩॥
The wanton mighty heroes are irresistible.23.
ਬਜੇਘੋਰਿਬਾਜੰ॥
ਵਾਜੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਨਾਦ ਨਾਲ ਵਜਦੇ ਸਨ,
ਸਜੇਸੂਰਸਾਜੰ॥
ਸੂਰਮੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਦੀ ਸਜਾਵਟ ਦੇ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।
The horrible sound of musical instruments is being heard and the bedecked warriors are being seen.
ਘਣੰਜੇਮਗਜੇ॥
(ਉਹ) ਬਦਲਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਗਜਦੇ ਸਨ
ਮਹਿਖੁਆਸਸਜੇ॥੨੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਵਡਿਆਂ ਧਨੁਸ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ॥੨੪॥
The bows are crackling like the thundering of the clouds.24.
ਮਹਿਖੁਆਸਧਾਰੀ॥
ਦੇਵਤੇ ਵੀ ਵੱਡੇ ਆਕਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਕੇ
ਚਲੇਬਿਯੋਮਚਾਰੀ॥
(ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਏ)।
The gods, holding their bows, are also moving,
ਸੁਭੰਸੂਰਹਰਖੇ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਆਨੰਦਿਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ
ਸਰੰਧਾਰਬਰਖੇ॥੨੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਬਾਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਰਖਾ ਹੋਣ ਲਗ ਗਈ ॥੨੫॥
And all the brave fighters, being pleased, are showering their arrows.25.
ਧਰੇਬਾਣਪਾਣੰ॥
(ਸੂਰਵੀਰਾਂ ਨੇ) ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬਾਣ ਲਏ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ
ਚੜੇਤੇਜਮਾਣੰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਤੇਜ ਤੇ ਮਾਣ ਨਾਲ (ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ) ਚੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਨ।
Holding their bows in their hands, excessively glorious and proud warriors have marched forward,
ਕਟਾਕਟਿਬਾਹੈ॥
ਕਟਾ-ਕਟ (ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ) ਚਲਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ
ਅਧੋਅੰਗਲਾਹੈ॥੨੬॥
ਅਤੇ (ਵੈਰੀ ਦੇ) ਅੱਧੇ ਅੰਗ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਸਿਰ) ਲਾਹ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ॥੨੬॥
And with the clattering of their weapons, the bodies of the enemies are being chopped into two parts.26.
ਰਿਸੇਰੋਸਿਰੁਦ੍ਰੰ॥
ਰੁਦਰ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ
ਚਲੈਭਾਜਛੁਦ੍ਰੰ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਕਾਇਰ ਭਜ ਚਲੇ ਸਨ।
Seeing the fury of Rudra, the weak demons are running away.
ਮਹਾਬੀਰਗਜੇ॥
ਮਹਾਨ ਵੀਰ-ਯੋਧੇ ਗਜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ,
ਸਿਲਹਸੰਜਿਸਜੇ॥੨੭॥
(ਉਹ) ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਵਚਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਸ ਨਾ ॥੨੭॥
Bedecked with their armour, they mighty warriors are thundering.27.
ਲਏਸਕਤਿਪਾਣੰ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੀਰਾਂ ਨੇ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਬਰਛੀਆਂ ਲਈਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਸਨ।
