ਜਲੰਬਾਥਲੇਯੰਕੀਯੋਰਾਜਸਰਬੰ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਜਲ ਅਤੇ ਥਲ ਸਭ ਪਾਸੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਰਾਜ ਕਾਇਮ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
They ruled over all the places in water and on land
ਭੁਜਾਦੇਖਿਭਾਰੀਬਢਿਯੋਤਾਹਿਗਰਬੰ॥੨॥
ਆਪਣੀ ਭਾਰੀ (ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਰ) ਭੁਜਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਧ ਗਿਆ ॥੨॥
And seeing their own great physical strength, their pride knew no bounds.2.
ਚਹੈਜੁਧਮੋਸੋਕਰੇਆਨਿਕੋਊ॥
(ਦੋਵੇਂ) ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ (ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ) ਆ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰੇ।
They wanted that some brave warriors may come forward to fight with them
ਬਲੀਹੋਏਵਾਸੋਭਿਰੇਆਨਿਸੋਊ॥
(ਪਰ) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਅਧਿਕ ਬਲੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਆ ਕੇ ਲੜਦਾ।
But only he could march against them, who could be greatly stronger than them.
ਚੜਿਯੋਮੇਰਸ੍ਰਿੰਗਪਗੰਗੁਸਟਸੰਗੰ॥
(ਅੰਤ ਵਿਚ ਹਰਨਾਖਸ਼) ਸੁਮੇਰ ਪਰਬਤ ਦੀ ਚੋਟੀ ਉਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਪੈਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਗੂਠੇ ਨਾਲ (ਦਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ)
They climbed to the top of the Sumeru mountain and with the blows of their maces,
ਹਰੇਬੇਦਭੂਮੰਕੀਏਸਰਬਭੰਗੰ॥੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਵੇਦ ਖੋਹ ਲਏ। ਭੂਮੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ (ਯੱਗ) ਭੰਗ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ॥੩॥
They took away the Vedas and the earth forcibly and caused the destruction of all natural principles.3.
ਧਸੀਭੂਮਿਬੇਦੰਰਹੀਹੁਐਪਤਾਰੰ॥
(ਪੈਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਗੂਠੇ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਬਣ ਕਰਕੇ) ਵੇਦਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਧਰਤੀ (ਜਲ ਵਿਚ) ਧਸ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਤਾਲ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ (ਸਥਿਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ)।
They earth went deep into the nether-world
ਧਰਿਯੋਬਿਸਨਤਉਦਾੜਗਾੜਾਵਤਾਰੰ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੇ ਕਠੋਰ ਹੁਡਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ
Then Vishnu manifested himself in the form of a Boar of terrible and cruel teeth.
ਧਸ੍ਰਯੋਨੀਰਮਧੰਕੀਯੋਊਚਨਾਦੰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਧਸ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਕੀਤੀ
He penetrated into water and raised a thunderous shout,
ਰਹੀਧੂਰਿਪੂਰੰਧੁਨੰਨਿਰਬਖਾਦੰ॥੪॥
ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਅਖੰਡ ਧੁਨੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਪਸਰ ਗਈ ॥੪॥
Which spread equally throughout the universe.4.
ਬਜੇਡਾਕਡਉਰੂਦੋਊਬੀਰਜਾਗੇ॥
(ਵਾਰਾਹ ਦਾ) ਡਕ ਡਕ ਕਰਦਾ ਡੋਰੂ ਵਜਿਆ (ਜਿਸ ਦੀ) ਧੁਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ (ਦੈਂਤ) ਸੂਰਮੇ ਜਾਗ ਗਏ।
Hearing this terrible shout and the resounding of the trumpets, both the brave demons awakened
ਸੁਣੇਨਾਦਿਬੰਕੇਮਹਾਭੀਰਭਾਗੇ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਭਿਆਨਕ ਨਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੀਰ ਯੋਧੇ ਵੀ ਭਜ ਗਏ।
Listening to their thundering voice, the cowards ran away
ਝਮੀਤੇਗਤੇਜੰਸਰੋਸੰਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੰ॥
ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਚਲਾਈਆਂ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਤਿਖੀਆ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ (ਇੰਜ ਚਲਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ)
The war began and the clattering of the glistening swords and the sound of the furious blows was heard
ਖਿਵੀਦਾਮਿਨੀਜਾਣੁਭਾਦੋਮਝਾਰੰ॥੫॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਭਾਦਰੋਂ ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਚਮਕਦੀ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੫॥
The luster of the swords looked like the flash of lightning in the month of Bhadon.5.
ਮੁਖੰਮੁਛਬੰਕੀਬਕੈਸੂਰਬੀਰੰ॥
ਮੂੰਹ ਉਤੇ ਕੁੰਡਲੀਆਂ ਮੁੱਛਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੂਰਵੀਰ ਲਲਕਾਰਦੇ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਸਨ।
ਤੜੰਕਾਰਤੇਗੰਸੜੰਕਾਰਤੀਰੰ॥
ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਤਾੜ ਤਾੜ ਕਰਦੀਆ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਰ ਸੜ ਸੜ ਕਰਦੇ ਚਲਦੇ ਸਨ।
The warriors of winsome whiskers are shouting and the sounds of the blows of the swords and arrows are being heard
ਧਮਕਾਰਸਾਗੰਖੜਕਾਰਖਗੰ॥
ਬਰਛਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਧਮਕਾਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਖੜਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਖੜਕਾਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਟੁਟੇਟੂਕਟੋਪੰਉਠੇਨਾਲਅਗੰ॥੬॥
(ਵੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਟੋਪ ਟੋਟੇ ਟੋਟੇ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਬੰਦੂਕਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਅੱਗ ਨਿਕਲ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ ॥੬॥
With the knocking and falling and the sparks are coming out from them.6.
ਉਠੇਨਦਨਾਦੰਢਮਕਾਰਢੋਲੰ॥
ਢੋਲਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਢੰਮ ਢੰਮ ਦਾ ਨਾਦ ਨਿਕਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
ਢਲੰਕਾਰਢਾਲੰਮੁਖੰਮਾਰਬੋਲੰ॥
ਢਾਲਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਢਕ-ਢਕ ਦੀ (ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ) ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਮਾਰੋ-ਮਾਰੋ ਬੋਲ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
With the resounding of trumpets and knocking sound on the shields, the utterance of “kill kill” coming from the mouth is being heard
ਖਹੇਖਗਖੂਨੀਖੁਲੇਬੀਰਖੇਤੰ॥
ਰਣਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਵੀਰ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੂਨ ਨਾਲ ਲਥਪਥ ਨੰਗੀਆਂ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਇਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਖਹਿ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਨਚੇਕੰਧਿਹੀਣੰਕਮਧੰਨ੍ਰਿਚੇਤੰ॥੭॥
ਗਰਦਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਧੜ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਹੀਣ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਨਚ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ॥੭॥
The bloody daggers of the warriors have come out in the battlefield and the headless trunks are dancing in an unconscious state.7.
ਭਰੇਜੋਗਣੀਪਤ੍ਰਚਉਸਠਚਾਰੀ॥
ਚੌਸਠ ਜੋਗਣਾਂ ਲਹੂ ਦੇ ਖੱਪਰ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ,
ਨਚੀਖੋਲਿਸੀਸੰਬਕੀਬਿਕਰਾਰੀ॥
ਸਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਾਲ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਨਚ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਭਿਆਨ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਬੋਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
The sixty-four female evil spirit (Yoginis) have filled their bowls with blood
ਹਸੈਭੂਤਪ੍ਰੇਤੰਮਹਾਬਿਕਰਾਲੰ॥
ਬਹੁਤ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਭੂਤ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਹਸ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
ਬਜੇਡਾਕਡਉਰੂਕਰੂਰੰਕਰਾਲੰ॥੮॥
ਕਠੋਰ ਅਤੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਡੌਰੂ ਡਕ ਡਕ ਕਰਦੇ ਵਜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ॥੮॥
And loosening their matted hair, they are raising their terrible sound, the most awful ghosts and fiends are laughing and the shrieking sound of the hideous vampires is being heard.8.
ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੰਤਮੁਸਟੰਕਰੈਪਾਵਘਾਤੰ॥
(ਹਰਨਾਖਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਰਾਹ ਇਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ) ਮੁੱਕੇ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ।
ਮਨੋਸਿੰਘਸਿੰਘੰਡਹੇਗਜਮਾਤੰ॥
(ਇੰਜ ਲਗਦਾ ਸੀ) ਮਾਨੋ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਜਾਂ ਮਸਤ ਹਾਥੀ ਨਾਲ ਹਾਥੀ ਭਿੜ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ।
The warriors are giving the blows of their fists and feet in this way as if the thundering lions have furiously attacked one another
ਛੁਟੀਈਸਤਾੜੀਡਗਿਯੋਬ੍ਰਹਮਧਿਆਨੰ॥
(ਇਸ ਯੁੱਧ ਦੀ ਭਿਆਨਕਤਾ ਕਾਰਨ) ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਟੁਟ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ
Hearing the terrible sound of the war, the attention of gods Shiva and Brahma hath distracted
ਭਜ੍ਯੋਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾਕਾਪਭਾਨੰਮਧ੍ਯਾਨੰ॥੯॥
(ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਵਿਚ ਧਿਆਨ ਉਖੜ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰ ਤੇ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਹੀ ਡਰਦਿਆਂ ਭਜ ਗਏ ॥੯॥
The moon also trembled and the noonday sun also fled in fear.9.
ਜਲੇਬਾਥਲੇਯੰਥਲੰਤਥਨੀਰੰ॥
(ਅਜਿਹਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਿਆ ਕਿ) ਪਾਣੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
ਕਿਧੋਸੰਧਿਯੰਬਾਣਰਘੁਇੰਦ੍ਰਬੀਰੰ॥
(ਅਰਥਾਤ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਬੁਹਤ ਉਛਾਲ ਆ ਗਿਆ) ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਰਸਤਾ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ) ਸੂਰਵੀਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਨੇ ਬਾਣ ਖਿਚਿਆ ਹੈ।
There was water everywhere upward and downward and in this atmosphere Vishnu took aim of his arrows on his targets
ਕਰੈਦੈਤਆਘਾਤਮੁਸਟੰਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੰ॥
ਦੈਂਤ ਜੋ ਮੁਕਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ,
ਮਨੋਚੋਟਬਾਹੈਘਰਿਯਾਰੀਘਰਿਯਾਰੰ॥੧੦॥
ਉਹ ਮਾਨੋ ਘੜਿਆਲੀ ਘੜਿਆਲ ਉਤੇ ਸੱਟਾ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੦॥
The demons were collectively giving terrible blows of their fists in the way, like a crocodile aiming his blows on another crocodile.10.
ਬਜੇਡੰਗਬੰਕੇਸੁਕ੍ਰੂਰੰਕਰਾਰੇ॥
ਭਿਆਨਕ ਨਗਾਰੇ ਵਜਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਠੋਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਰੜੇ (ਯੋਧੇ ਆਪਸ ਵਿਚ ਭਿੜਦੇ ਸਨ।
ਮਨੋਗਜਜੁਟੇਦੰਤਾਰੇਦੰਤਾਰੇ॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਲੰਬੇ ਦੰਦਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਆਪਸ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੱਟੇ ਹੋਣ।
The trumpets resounded and the mighty and terrible warriors fought with each other in this way, as if the elephants with long tusks are fighting with each other.
ਢਮੰਕਾਰਢੋਲੰਰਣੰਕੇਨਫੀਰੰ॥
ਢੋਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਢੰਮਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਨਫ਼ੀਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੂੰਜ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਸੜਕਾਰਸਾਗੰਤੜਕਾਰਤੀਰੰ॥੧੧॥
ਸੜ-ਸੜ ਕਰਦੇ ਬਰਛੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੜ-ਤੜ ਕਰਦੇ ਤੀਰ (ਚਲਦੇ ਹਨ) ॥੧੧॥
The sound of the drums and horns was being heard and there was also the clattering of the daggers and the crackling of the arrows.11.
ਦਿਨੰਅਸਟਜੁਧੰਭਯੋਅਸਟਰੈਣੰ॥
ਅੱਠ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਠ ਰਾਤਾਂ ਤਕ ਯੁੱਧ ਹੋਇਆ।
ਡਗੀਭੂਮਿਸਰਬੰਉਠਿਯੋਕਾਪਗੈਣੰ॥
ਸਾਰੀ ਭੂਮੀ ਡਾਵਾਂ-ਡੋਲ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵੀ ਕੰਬ ਉਠਿਆ।
The war was waged for eight days and eight nights, in which the earth and the sky trembled.
ਰਣੰਰੰਗਰਤੇਸਭੈਰੰਗਭੂਮੰ॥
ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ (ਮੌਜੂਦ) ਸਾਰੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।
ਹਣ੍ਯੋਬਿਸਨਸਤ੍ਰੰਗਿਰਿਯੋਅੰਤਿਝੂਮੰ॥੧੨॥
ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਅੰਤ ਵਿਚ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ (ਉਹ) ਭਵਾਟਣੀ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ ॥੧੨॥
All the warriors appeared absorbed in warfare in the battle-field, and Vishnu caused the death and fall of the enemy.12.
ਧਰੇਦਾੜਅਗ੍ਰੰਚਤੁਰਬੇਦਤਬੰ॥
ਤਦੋਂ (ਵਾਰਾਹ ਨੇ) ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਡ ਉਤੇ ਚੌਹਾਂ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਕ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ।
ਹਠੀਦੁਸਟਿਜਿਤੇਭਜੇਦੈਤਸਬੰ॥
(ਇਕ) ਹਠੀ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ (ਹਰਨਾਖਸ਼) ਦੇ ਜਿਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੈਂਤ ਭਜ ਗਏ।
Then he placed all the four Vedas on the protruding part of his teeth and caused the death and fall of the persistent inimical demons
ਦਈਬ੍ਰਹਮਆਗਿਆਧੁਨੰਬੇਦਕੀਯੰ॥
(ਫਿਰ) ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ (ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਧਨੁਰਵੇਦ ਦਾ ਉੱਚਾਰਣ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਸਬੈਸੰਤਨੰਤਾਨਕੋਸੁਖਦੀਯੰ॥੧੩॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੩॥
Vishnu commanded Brahma and he created the Dhanur-veda for the happiness of all the saints.13.
ਧਰਿਯੋਖਸਟਮੰਬਿਸਨਐਸਾਵਤਾਰੰ॥
ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੇ ਛੇਵਾਂ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ
In this way, the sixth partial incarnation of the Visnu manifested himself,
ਸਬੈਦੁਸਟਜਿਤੈਕੀਯੋਬੇਦਉਧਾਰੰ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਤਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਉੱਧਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
