ਦੋਵੇਂ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਰਤਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਛਤਰਧਾਰੀ ਸਨ।
Both were the users of their arms and were kings with canopies.
ਦੋਊਪਰਮਜੋਧਾਮਹਾਜੁਧਕਾਰੀ॥੮॥੨੨੬॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਤਕੜੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ ॥੮॥੨੨੬॥
Both were Supreme warriors and great fighters.8.226.
ਦੋਊਖੰਡਖੰਡੀਦੋਊਮੰਡਮੰਡੰ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ (ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ) ਖੰਡਾਂ (ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ) ਨੂੰ ਖੰਡਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ।
Both were the destroyers of their enemies and also their establishers.
ਦੋਊਜੋਧਜੈਤਵਾਰੁਜੋਧਾਪ੍ਰਚੰਡੰ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਤਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਯੋਧੇ ਸਨ।
Both were the terrible conquerors of the great heroes.
ਦੋਊਬੀਰਬਾਨੀਦੋਊਬਾਹਸਾਹੰ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਸ਼ੂਰਵੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੋਢੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਭੁਜਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਲੀ ਸਨ।
Both the warriors were adept in shooting arrows and had mighty arms.
ਦੋਊਸੂਰਸੈਨੰਦੋਊਸੂਰਮਾਹੰ॥੯॥੨੨੭॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਸੈਨਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਸੈਨਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਸਨ ॥੯॥੨੨੭॥
Both the heroes were the sun and moon of their forces.9.227.
ਦੋਊਚਕ੍ਰਵਰਤੀਦੋਊਸਸਤ੍ਰਬੇਤਾ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਚਕਰਵਰਤੀ ਸਨ, ਦੋਵੇਂ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਸਨ।
Both were the warriors universal monarchs and had knowledge of warfare.
ਦੋਊਜੰਗਜੋਧੀਦੋਊਜੰਗਜੇਤਾ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਜੰਗ ਦੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਜਈ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ।
Both were the warriors of war and conquerors of war.
ਦੋਊਚਿਤ੍ਰਜੋਤੀਦੋਊਚਿਤ੍ਰਚਾਪੰ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਜੋਤਿ ਦੇ ਚਿਤਰ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਦੀ ਮੂਰਤ ਸਨ।
Both were marvelously beautiful carrying beautiful bows.
ਦੋਊਚਿਤ੍ਰਵਰਮਾਦੋਊਦੁਸਟਤਾਪੰ॥੧੦॥੨੨੮॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਢਾਲ ਦੀ ਮੂਰਤ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ ॥੧੦॥੨੨੮॥
Both were clad in armour and were the destroyers of enemies.10.228.
ਦੋਊਖੰਡਖੰਡੀਦੋਊਮੰਡਮੰਡੰ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ (ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ) ਖੰਡਾਂ (ਖੇਤਰਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਖੰਡਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ।
Both were the destroyers of the enemies with their double-edged swords and were also their establishers.
ਦੋਊਚਿਤ੍ਰਜੋਤੀਸੁਜੋਧਾਪ੍ਰਚੰਡੰ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਜੋਤਿ ਦਾ ਚਿਤਰ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਯੋਧੇ ਸਨ।
Both were Glory-incarnate and mighty heroes.
ਦੋਊਮਤਬਾਰੁੰਨਬਿਕ੍ਰਮਸਮਾਨੰ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹਾਥੀ ('ਬਾਰੁੰਨ') ਵਾਂਗ ਮਸਤ ਅਤੇ (ਰਾਜਾ) ਬਿਕ੍ਰਮ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਸਨ।
Both were intoxicate elephants and like king Vikrama.
ਦੋਊਸਸਤ੍ਰਬੇਤਾਦੋਊਸਸਤ੍ਰਪਾਨੰ॥੧੧॥੨੨੯॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ (ਚਲਾਉਣ ਵਿਚ) ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ (ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਸ ਨ) ॥੧੧॥੨੨੯॥
Both were adepts in warfare and had weapons in their hands.11.229.
ਦੋਊਪਰਮਜੋਧੇਦੋਊਕ੍ਰੁਧਵਾਨੰ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ।
Both were Supreme warriors full of rage.
ਦੋਊਸਸਤ੍ਰਬੇਤਾਦੋਊਰੂਪਖਾਨੰ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ-ਵਿਦਿਆ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਰੂਪ ਦੀ ਖਾਣ ਸਨ।
Both were adepts in warfare and were the source of beauty.
ਦੋਊਛਤ੍ਰਪਾਲੰਦੋਊਛਤ੍ਰਧਰਮੰ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਛਤਰਪਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਛਾਤਰ ਧਰਮ (ਦੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ) ਸਨ।
Both were Sustainers of Kshatriyas and followed the discipline of Kshatriyas.
ਦੋਊਜੁਧਜੋਧਾਦੋਊਕ੍ਰੂਰਕਰਮੰ॥੧੨॥੨੩੦॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਕਠੋਰ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ ॥੧੨॥੨੩੦॥
Both were the heroes of war and men of violent actions.12.230.
ਦੋਊਮੰਡਲਾਕਾਰਜੂਝੇਬਿਰਾਜੈ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਮੰਡਲਾਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਖੜੋ ਕੇ ਜੂਝ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
Both were standing and fighting in enclosures.
ਹਥੈਹਰਦੁਠੋਕੈਭੁਜਾਪਾਇਗਾਜੈ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਡੌਲਿਆਂ (ਭੁਜਾਵਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਠੋਕਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ (ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ) ਪੈਰ (ਮਾਰ ਕੇ) ਗਜਦੇ ਸਨ।
Both struck their arms with their hands and shouted loudly.
ਦੋਊਖਤ੍ਰਹਾਣੰਦੋਊਖਤ੍ਰਖੰਡੰ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਛਤਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਨੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਛਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ।
Both had Kshatriya discipline but both were the destroyers of Kshatriyas.
ਦੋਊਖਗਪਾਣੰਦੋਊਛੇਤ੍ਰਮੰਡੰ॥੧੩॥੨੩੧॥
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਸ਼ੋਭਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ ॥੧੩॥੨੩੧॥
Both had swords in their hands and both were the adornments of th battlefield.13.231.
ਦੋਊਚਿਤ੍ਰਜੋਤੀਦੋਊਚਾਰਬਿਚਾਰੰ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸਨ।
Both were Beauty-incarnate and had lofty thoughts.
ਦੋਊਮੰਡਲਾਕਾਰਖੰਡਾਅਬਾਰੰ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਮੰਡਲਾਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਖੰਡਾ ਚਲਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
Both were operating their double-adged swords in their enclosures.
ਦੋਊਖਗਖੂਨੀਦੋਊਖਤ੍ਰਹਾਣੰ॥
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਬੜੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਛਤਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ।
Both had their swords smeared with blood and both worked against Kshatriya discipline.
ਦੋਊਖਤ੍ਰਖੇਤਾਦੋਊਛਤ੍ਰਪਾਣੰ॥੧੪॥੨੩੨॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਛਤਰਾਣੀਆਂ (ਖੇਤਾ) (ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ) ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਛਾਤਰ-ਪਣੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ ॥੧੪॥੨੩੨॥
Both were capable of risking their life in the battlefield.14.232.
ਦੋਊਬੀਰਬਿਬਆਸਤਧਾਰੇਨਿਹਾਰੇ॥
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਸ਼ੂਰਵੀਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੋਹਰੇ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ('ਬਿਬ ਆਸਤ') ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ (ਅਤੇ ਇਧਰ ਉਧਰ) ਵੇਖ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
Both the heroes had their weapons in their hands.
ਰਹੇਬ੍ਯੋਮਮੈਭੂਪਗਉਨੈਹਕਾਰੇ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਰਾਜੇ (ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ) ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਫਿਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, (ਉਹ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਬੁਲਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
It seemed as if the spirits of the dead kings moving the sky were calling them.
ਹਕਾਹਕਲਾਗੀਧਨੰਧੰਨਜੰਪ੍ਯੋ॥
ਹਾਕ ਤੇ ਹਾਕ ਪੈ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਯਸ਼) ਗਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
They were shouting seeing their heroism, they were praising them with the words “Well done, bravo!”
ਚਕ੍ਯੋਜਛਰਾਜੰਪ੍ਰਿਥੀਲੋਕਕੰਪ੍ਯੋ॥੧੫॥੨੩੩॥
ਯਕਸ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤ-ਲੋਕ ਕੰਬ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ॥੧੫॥੨੩੩॥
The king of Yakshas seeing their bravery was astonished and the earth was trembling.15.233.
ਹਨਿਓਰਾਜਦੁਰਜੋਧਨੰਜੁਧਭੂਮੰ॥
(ਆਖੀਰ ਵਿਚ) ਰਾਜਾ ਦੁਰਯੋਧਨ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
(Ultimately) the king Duryodhana was killed in the battlefield.
ਭਜੇਸਭੈਜੋਧਾਚਲੀਧਾਮਧੂਮੰ॥
(ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ) ਧੁੰਮ ਪੈ ਜਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਭਜ ਗਏ।
All the noisy warriors ran helter-skelter.
ਕਰਿਯੋਰਾਜਨਿਹਕੰਟਕੰਕਉਰਪਾਲੰ॥
(ਇਸ ਪਿਛੋਂ) ਰਾਜਾ ਯੁਧਿਸ਼ਠਰ ਨੇ ਕੌਰਵਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਕੰਟਕ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ।
(After that) Pandavas ruled over the family of Kauravas unconcerned.
ਪੁਨਰਜਾਇਕੈਮਝਿਸਿਝੈਹਿਵਾਲੰ॥੧੬॥੨੩੪॥
(ਫਿਰ) ਹਿਮਾਲਾ ਪਰਬਤ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਗਲ ਗਏ ॥੧੬॥੨੩੪॥
Then they went to Himalaya mountains.16.234.
ਤਹਾਏਕਗੰਧ੍ਰਬਸਿਉਜੁਧਮਚ੍ਯੋ॥
ਉਥੇ ਇਕ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਹੋਇਆ।
At that time a war was waged with a Gandharva.
ਤਹਾਭੂਰਪਾਲੰਧੂਰਾਰੰਗੁਰਚ੍ਯੋ॥
ਉਥੇ ਭੂਰਪਾਲ ਨੇ ਵਿਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਧੁੰਧਲਾ ਰੰਗ ਫੈਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
There that Gandharva adopted a wonderful garb.
ਤਹਾਸਤ੍ਰੁਕੇਭੀਮਹਸਤੀਚਲਾਏ॥
ਉਥੇ ਭੀਮਸੈਨ ਨੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਦੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਚੁਕ ਚੁਕ ਕੇ ਸੁਟੇ।
Bhima threw there the elephants of the enemy upwards.
ਫਿਰੇਮਧਿਗੈਣੰਅਜਉਲਉਨਆਏ॥੧੭॥੨੩੫॥
(ਉਹ) ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਫਿਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, (ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ) ਹੁਣ ਤਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਰਤੇ ॥੧੭॥੨੩੫॥
Which are still moving in the sky and have not returned as yet.17.235.
ਸੁਨੈਬੈਨਕਉਭੂਪਇਉਐਠਨਾਕੰ॥
(ਇਹ) ਬੋਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਰਾਜਾ (ਜਨਮੇਜਾ) ਨਕ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੇ ਥੋੜਾ ਮੁਸਕਰਾਇਆ
Hearing these words, the king Janmeja turned his nose in such a manner,
ਕਰਿਯੋਹਾਸਮੰਦੈਬੁਲ੍ਯੋਏਮਬਾਕੰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗਾ (ਹਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਟਣ ਵਾਲੀ) ਐਵੇਂ ਗੱਪ ਹੈ।
And laughed contemptuously as though the utterance about the elephants was not true.
ਰਹਿਯੋਨਾਕਮੈਕੁਸਟਛਤ੍ਰੀਸਵਾਨੰ॥
(ਇੰਨਾ ਕਹਿਣ ਤੇ) ਛਤਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੰਸ (ਰਾਜਾ ਜਨਮੇਜਾ) ਦੇ ਨਕ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਹੜ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ।
With this disbelief the thirty-sixth part of leprosy remained in his nose,
ਭਈਤਉਨਹੀਰੋਗਤੇਭੂਪਹਾਨੰ॥੧੮॥੨੩੬॥
ਉਸੇ ਰੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਜੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਹੋਇਆ ॥੧੮॥੨੩੬॥
And with this ailment, the king passed away.18.236.

ਇਮਚਉਰਾਸੀਬਰਖਪ੍ਰਮਾਨੰ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੌਰਾਸੀ ਸਾਲ,
In this way for eighty-four years,
ਸਪਤਮਾਹਚਉਬੀਸਦਿਨਾਨੰ॥
ਸੱਤ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਚੌਵੀ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤਕ
Seven months and twenty-four days,
ਰਾਜਕੀਓਜਨਮੇਜਾਰਾਜਾ॥
ਰਾਜਾ ਜਨਮੇਜਾ ਨੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ।
The king Janmeja remained the ruler
ਕਾਲਨੀਸਾਨੁਬਹੁਰਿਸਿਰਿਗਾਜਾ॥੧੯॥੨੩੭॥
ਫਿਰ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਕਾਲ ਦਾ ਨਗਾਰਾ ਵਜਿਆ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ) ॥੧੯॥੨੩੭॥
Then, the trumpet of Death sounded over his head.19.237.
ਇਤਿਜਨਮੇਜਾਸਮਾਪਤਭਇਆ॥
ਇਥੇ ਜਨਮੇਜਾ ਸਮਾਪਤ ਹੋਇਆ
Thus the king Janmeja breathed his last.
