ਕਜ਼ੋਦੀਦਹਸ਼ੁਦਦੀਦਹੇਦੋਸਤਸਰਦ॥੫੧॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਦੋਸਤਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਠੰਢੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ॥੫੧॥
Made him worthy of the throne.(51)
ਕਿਯਕਮੁੰਗਯਕਸ਼ਹਿਰਜ਼ੋਕਾਮਸ਼ੁਦ॥
ਇਕ ਮੂੰਗੀ ਦੇ ਦਾਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਬਣਵਾਇਆ
Such a man deserved gilded canopy, royal stamp and coinage,
ਕਿਮੂੰਗੀਪਟਨਸ਼ਹਿਰਓਨਾਮਸ਼ੁਦ॥੫੨॥
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੂੰਗੀ ਪਟਨ ਸੀ ॥੫੨॥
And thousands of honours were sacrificed on to him.(52)
ਕਿਨੀਮਿਨੁਖ਼ਦਰਾਦਿਗ਼ਰਸ਼ਹਿਰਬਸਤ॥
ਚਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਧੇ ਦਾਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਜਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਸਾਇਆ,
The (other) three were fools and possessed tarnished minds.
ਕਿਨਾਮੇਅਜ਼ੋਸ਼ਹਿਰਦਿਹਲੀਸ਼ੁਦਅਸਤ॥੫੩॥
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਹੋਇਆ ॥੫੩॥
Their language was rustic and their gait was detestable.(53)
ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਆਮਦਬਤਦਬੀਰਮਾਨੋਮਹੀਪ॥
ਮਾਨਧਾਤਾ ਰਾਜਾ (ਚੌਥੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੀ) ਜੁਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋਇਆ
He (King) displayed his desire, as he (son) was to be given the kingdom,
ਖ਼ਿਤਾਬਸ਼ਬਦੋਦਾਦਰਾਜਹਦਲੀਪ॥੫੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ 'ਰਾਜਾ ਦਲੀਪ' ਦੀ ਪਦਵੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ॥੫੪॥
He would disclose all his wealth to him (son),(54)
ਕਿਪੈਦਾਅਜ਼ੋਮਰਦਸ਼ਾਹਨਸ਼ਹੀ॥
ਉਸ ਮਰਦ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ,
And he would be a suitable person to sit on the throne,
ਸਜ਼ਾਵਾਰਤਖ਼ਤਅਸਤੁਤਾਜੋਮਹੀ॥੫੫॥
ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਅਤੇ ਤਾਜ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਸਿੱਧ ਹੋਇਆ ॥੫੫॥
On account of his high intellect.(55)
ਬਜ਼ੇਬਦਅਜ਼ੋਮਰਦਤਾਜੋਨਗ਼ੀਂ॥
ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮਰਦ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਹੀਰੇ ਤੇ ਨਗ ਸ਼ੋਭਦੇ ਹਨ।
Then, he (the fourth prince) attained the title of Raja Daleep,
ਬਰਆਂਅਕਲੁਤਦਬੀਰਹਜ਼ਾਰਆਫ਼ਰੀਂ॥੫੬॥
ਇਸ ਦੀ ਅਕਲ ਅਤੇ ਜੁਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਾਰ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ॥੫੬॥
As the King had endowed him the kingdom.(56)
ਸਿਓਅਸਤਬੇਅਕਲਆਲੂਦਹਮਗ਼ਜ਼॥
ਬਾਕੀ ਦੇ (ਤਿੰਨ ਪੁੱਤਰ) ਬੇਅਕਲ ਅਤੇ ਬਦਦਿਮਾਗ਼ ਹਨ।
The other three were banished from the territory,
ਨਰਫ਼ਤਾਰਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਤਰਨਗ਼ੁਫ਼ਤਾਰਨਗ਼ਜ਼॥੫੭॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਾ ਚਾਲ ਚੰਗੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਬੋਲ ਠੀਕ ਹਨ ॥੫੭॥
Because neither they were intelligent nor devoid of bad traits.(57)
ਹਮੀਖ਼ਾਸਤਕਿਓਰਾਬਸ਼ਾਹੀਦਿਹਮ॥
(ਰਾਜਾ ਮਾਨਧਾਤਾ ਨੇ) ਚਾਹਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਸ (ਦਲੀਪ) ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਗੱਦੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਆਂ
He (Daleep) was enthroned on the royal seat,
ਜ਼ਿਦੌਲਤਖ਼ੁਦਸ਼ਰਾਅਗਾਹੀਦਿਹਮ॥੫੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਆਂ ॥੫੮॥
And the door of the treasure was opened for him by the key.(58)
ਬਜ਼ੇਬਦਕਜ਼ੋਰੰਗਸ਼ਾਹਨਸ਼ਹੀ॥
(ਰਾਜਾ ਦਲੀਪ) ਰਾਜ-ਗੱਦੀ ਉਤੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਵਧਾਏਗਾ
(The King) endowed the kingdom to him, and, himself, became a freeman,
ਕਿਸਾਹਿਬਸ਼ਊਰਅਸਤਵਮਾਲਕਮਹੀ॥੫੯॥
ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਅਕਲਮੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ॥੫੯॥
Adoring the ascetic’s garb, he took his way to the jungle (seclusion).(59)
ਖ਼ਿਤਾਬਸ਼ਕਜ਼ੋਗਸ਼ਤਰਾਜਹਦਲੀਪ॥
ਰਾਜਾ ਦਲੀਪ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਲਕਬ (ਪਦਵੀ) ਹੋ ਗਿਆ
(The poet says),
ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ਤਬਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਦਮਾਨੋਮਹੀਪ॥੬੦॥
ਅਤੇ ਮਾਨਧਾਤਾ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਰਾਜ-ਗੱਦੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੬੦॥
‘Oh Saki, the bartender, give me the cup full of green (liquid),
ਸਿਪਿਸਰਾਦਿਗ਼ਰਸ਼ਾਹਿਆਜ਼ਾਦਕਰਦ॥
ਬਾਕੀ ਤਿੰਨ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਤੋਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ (ਭਾਵ ਵਖਰਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ)
‘Which I may need at the time of struggle,(60)
ਨਦਾਨਸ਼ਪਰਸਤੋਨਆਜ਼ਾਦਮਰਦ॥੬੧॥
ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਨਾ ਅਕਲਮੰਦ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਸਨ ॥੬੧॥
‘And give me this so that at the time of assessment,
ਕਿਓਰਾਬਰੋਜ਼ਰਸਿੰਘਾਸਨਨਿਸ਼ਾਦ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਨਹਿਰੀ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਨ ਉਤੇ ਬਿਠਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ
‘I may commence the use of my sword.(61)(2)
ਕਲੀਦੇਕੁਹਨਗੰਜਰਾਬਰਕੁਸ਼ਾਦ॥੬੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੬੨॥
ਬਦੋਦਾਦਸ਼ਾਹੀਖ਼ੁਦਆਜ਼ਾਦਗਸ਼ਤ॥
(ਰਾਜਾ ਮਾਨਧਾਤਾ ਨੇ) ਰਾਜ-ਗੱਦੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਬੰਧਨ-ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
ਬਪੋਸ਼ੀਦਦਲਕਸ਼ਰਵਾਸ਼ੁਦਬਦਸ਼ਤ॥੬੩॥
(ਫ਼ਕੀਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ) ਗੋਦੜੀ ਪਾ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਲ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ ॥੬੩॥
ਬਿਦਿਹਸਾਕੀਯਾਸਾਗ਼ਰੇਸਬਜ਼ਰੰਗ॥
ਹੇ ਸਾਕੀ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹਰੇ ਰੰਗ (ਭਾਵ-ਹਰਿਨਾਮ) (ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ) ਦਾ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੋ
ਕਿਮਾਰਾਬਕਾਰਅਸਤਦਰਵਕਤਜੰਗ॥੬੪॥
ਜੋ ਜੰਗ ਵੇਲੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਆਵੇਗਾ ॥੬੪॥
ਬਮਨਦਿਹਕਿਬਖ਼ਤਆਜ਼ਮਾਈਕੁਨਮ॥
ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਇਹ) ਦਾਤ ਦਿਓ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਖ ਸਕਾਂ
ਜ਼ਿਤੇਗ਼ੇਖ਼ੁਦਸ਼ਕਾਰਵਾਈਕੁਨਮ॥੬੫॥੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ ॥੬੫॥੨॥
ੴਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂਜੀਕੀਫ਼ਤਹ॥
The Lord is One and the Victory is of the True Guru.
ਖ਼ੁਦਾਵੰਦਦਾਨਸ਼ਦਿਹੋਦਾਦਗਰ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਕਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ,
God is the endower of all wisdom and justice.
ਰਜ਼ਾਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਰੋਜ਼ੀਦਿਹੋਹਰਹੁਨਰ॥੧॥
ਰਜ਼ਾ (ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ) ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਰੋਜ਼ੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
(He) bestows bliss, living and ingenuity.(1)
ਅਮਾਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿੰਦਓਦਸਤਗੀਰ॥
ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਬਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ (ਬਾਂਹ ਪਕੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ)
(He) is benevolent and helper,
ਕੁਸ਼ਾਯਸ਼ਕੁਨੋਰਹਿਨੁਮਾਯਸ਼ਪਜ਼ੀਰ॥੨॥
ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਪਥ-ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
(He) disintegrates the bondage, and guides our thought.(2)
ਹਿਕਾਯਤਸ਼ੁਨੀਦਮਯਕੇਨੇਕਮਰਦ॥
ਮੈਂ ਇਕ ਨੇਕ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਸੁਣੀ ਹੈ
Listen now, the Tale of a kind man,
ਕਿਅਜ਼ਦਉਰਦੁਸ਼ਮਨਬਰਾਵੁਰਦਗਰਦ॥੩॥
ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨ ਦੇ ਦੌਰ (ਜ਼ਮਾਨੇ) ਦੀ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਉਡਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ (ਭਾਵ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ) ॥੩॥
Who trampled the enemies in the dust.(3)
ਖ਼ਸਮਅਫ਼ਕਨੋਸ਼ਾਹਿਚੀਂਦਿਲਫ਼ਰਾਜ਼॥
ਉਹ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਦਾਰ ਮਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਚੀਨ ਦਾ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਸੀ।
He, the King of China, was very shrewd and openhearted.
ਗ਼ਰੀਬੁਲਨਿਵਾਜ਼ੋਗ਼ਨੀਮੁਲਗੁਦਾਜ਼॥੪॥
ਉਹ ਗ਼ਰੀਬ-ਨਿਵਾਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ ॥੪॥
He elevated the poor but looked down upon the egoists.(4)
ਜਿਰਜ਼ਮੋਬਬਜ਼ਮੋਹਮਹਬੰਦੁਬਸਤ॥
ਉਹ ਜੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਮਜਲਿਸ (ਸਭਾ) ਦਾ ਬੰਦੋਬਸਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ।
He was adept in the war and in all the (court) managements.
ਕਿਬਿਸਯਾਰਤੇਗ਼ਅਸਤਹੁਸ਼ਯਾਰਦਸਤ॥੫॥
ਉਹ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਧਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਫੁਰਤੀਲੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ ॥੫॥
In swordsmanship, he was very swift in the movements of his hands.(5)
ਨਿਵਾਲਹਪਿਯਾਲਹਜਿਰਜ਼ਮੋਬਬਜ਼ਮ॥
ਖਾਣ ਵਿਚ, (ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਦਾ) ਪਿਆਲਾ ਪੀਣ ਵਿਚ, ਜੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਮਜਲਿਸ ਵਿਚ (ਕਿਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਘਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ)।
His masterly sword and gun actions were much proficient.
ਤੁਗੁਫ਼ਤੀਕਿਦੀਗਰਯਲੇਸ਼ੁਦਬਬਜ਼ਮ॥੬॥
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਤੂੰ ਕਹੇਂਗਾ ਕਿ ਮਜਲਿਸ ਵਿਚ (ਉਸ ਵਰਗਾ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
He was second to none in eating and drinking and, both, in his fighting feats and court manners, You would think, ‘Could there be any one like him?’(6)
ਜ਼ਿਤੀਰੋਤੁਫ਼ੰਗਹਮਚੁਆਮੁਖ਼ਤਹਸ਼ੁਦ॥
ਉਹ ਤੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਬੰਦੂਕ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਵਿਚ ਇਤਨਾ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ
He was so much proficient in throwing the arrows and shooting the gun,
ਤੁਗੋਈਕਿਦਰਸ਼ਿਕਮਅੰਦੋਖ਼ਤਹਸ਼ੁਦ॥੭॥
ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਕਹੇਂਗਾ ਕਿ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇਕੋ ਵਾਰ ਸਿਖ ਕੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
That you would reflect, he was trained in his mother’s abdomen.(7)
ਚੁਮਾਲਸ਼ਗਿਰਾਨਸ਼ਮਤਾਯਸ਼ਅਜ਼ੀਮ॥
ਉਸ ਪਾਸ ਦੌਲਤ ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਵੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਸੀ।
He had abundance of wealth.
ਕਿਮੁਲਕਸ਼ਬਸੇਅਸਤਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ਕਰੀਮ॥੮॥
ਉਸ ਪਾਸ ਮੁਲਕ ਵੀ ਬਹਤੁ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਵੀ ਸੀ ॥੮॥
He ruled over many counties through Karim, the Bountiful.(8)
ਅਜ਼ੋਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹੀਬਆਖ਼ਰਸ਼ੁਦਸਤ॥
ਜਦ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਦਾ ਆਖ਼ਰੀ ਸਮਾਂ ਆ ਗਿਆ,
(Abruptly) his kingdom was terminated.
ਨਿਸ਼ਸਤੰਦਵਜ਼ੀਰਾਨਓਪੇਸ਼ਪਸਤ॥੯॥
ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਗੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਆ ਬੈਠੇ ॥੯॥
And all his Ministers came and positioned themselves around him.(9)
