ਹਰਿਹਰਿਆਪੁਧਰਿਓਹਰਿਜਨਮਹਿਜਨਨਾਨਕੁਹਰਿਪ੍ਰਭੁਇਕਫਾ॥੪॥੫॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਤਾਹੀਏਂ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਸੇਵਕ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਨਾਨਕ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਇੱਕ-ਰੂਪ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੫॥
The Lord, Har, Har, has enshrined Himself within His humble servant. O Nanak, the Lord God and His servant are one and the same. ||4||5||
ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀਮਹਲਾ੪॥
Prabhaatee, Fourth Mahalaa:
ਗੁਰਸਤਿਗੁਰਿਨਾਮੁਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਓਹਰਿਹਰਿਹਮਮੁਏਜੀਵੇਹਰਿਜਪਿਭਾ॥
ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਰੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
The Guru, the True Guru, has implanted the Naam, the Name of the Lord within me. I was dead, but chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, I have been brought back to life.
ਧਨੁਧੰਨੁਗੁਰੂਗੁਰੁਸਤਿਗੁਰੁਪੂਰਾਬਿਖੁਡੁਬਦੇਬਾਹਦੇਇਕਢਿਭਾ॥੧॥
ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਸਲਾਹੁਣ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ। (ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਵਿਹੁਲੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ (ਆਪਣੀ) ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜਾ ਕੇ ਕੱਢ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
Blessed, blessed is the Guru, the Guru, the Perfect True Guru; He reached out to me with His Arm, and pulled me up and out of the ocean of poison. ||1||
ਜਪਿਮਨਰਾਮਨਾਮੁਅਰਧਾਂਭਾ॥
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ; (ਇਹ ਨਾਮ) ਜਪਣ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ।
O mind, meditate and worship the Lord's Name.
ਉਪਜੰਪਿਉਪਾਇਨਪਾਈਐਕਤਹੂਗੁਰਿਪੂਰੈਹਰਿਪ੍ਰਭੁਲਾਭਾ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋਈ ਗੁਪਤ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਦੇਣ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੇ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ। ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਹੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
God is never found, even by making all sorts of new efforts. The Lord God is obtained only through the Perfect Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਰਾਮਨਾਮੁਰਸੁਰਾਮਰਸਾਇਣੁਰਸੁਪੀਆਗੁਰਮਤਿਰਸਭਾ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ) ਰਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਹੈ (ਸਭ ਰਸਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ, ਪਰ) ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਗੁਰਮੱਤ ਦੇ ਰਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Sublime Essence of the Lord's Name is the source of nectar and bliss; drinking in this Sublime Essence, following the Guru's Teachings, I have become happy.
ਲੋਹਮਨੂਰਕੰਚਨੁਮਿਲਿਸੰਗਤਿਹਰਿਉਰਧਾਰਿਓਗੁਰਿਹਰਿਭਾ॥੨॥
ਸੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਲੋਹਾ (ਪਾਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ) ਸੋਨਾ (ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ) ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਰੱਬੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
Even iron slag is transformed into gold, joining the Lord's Congregation. Through the Guru, the Lord's Light is enshrined within the heart. ||2||
ਹਉਮੈਬਿਖਿਆਨਿਤਲੋਭਿਲੁਭਾਨੇਪੁਤਕਲਤਮੋਹਿਲੁਭਿਭਾ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚ ਗ੍ਰਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਲੋਭ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਘਿਰੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Those who are continually lured by greed, egotism and corruption, who are lured away by emotional attachment to their children and spouse
ਤਿਨਪਗਸੰਤਨਸੇਵੇਕਬਹੂਤੇਮਨਮੁਖਭੂੰਭਰਭਰਭਾ॥੩॥
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਸੰਤ-ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੁਹੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ, ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ (ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ) ਭੁੱਬਲ ਧੁੱਖਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
- they never serve at the feet of the Saints; those self-willed manmukhs are filled with ashes. ||3||
ਤੁਮਰੇਗੁਨਤੁਮਹੀਪ੍ਰਭਜਾਨਹੁਹਮਪਰੇਹਾਰਿਤੁਮਸਰਨਭਾ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ (ਹੋਰ ਸਭ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
O God, You alone know Your Glorious Virtues; I have grown weary - I seek Your Sanctuary.
ਜਿਉਜਾਨਹੁਤਿਉਰਾਖਹੁਸੁਆਮੀਜਨਨਾਨਕੁਦਾਸੁਤੁਮਨਭਾ॥੪॥੬॥ਛਕਾ੧॥
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ, ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ (ਮੈਂ) ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਦਾਸ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੬॥ ਛਕਾ ੧ ॥
As You know best, You preserve and protect me, O my Lord and Master; servant Nanak is Your slave. ||4||6|| First Set of Six
ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀਬਿਭਾਸਪੜਤਾਲਮਹਲਾ੪॥
ਰਾਗ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀ/ਬਿਭਾਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ 'ਪੜਤਾਲ'।
Prabhaatee, Bibhaas, Partaal, Fourth Mahalaa:
ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਜਪਿਮਨਹਰਿਹਰਿਨਾਮੁਨਿਧਾਨ॥
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ (ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਸਲ) ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ।
O mind, meditate on the Treasure of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਹਰਿਦਰਗਹਪਾਵਹਿਮਾਨ॥
(ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਦਰ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ।
You shall be honored in the Court of the Lord.
ਜਿਨਿਜਪਿਆਤੇਪਾਰਿਪਰਾਨ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਭ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Those who chant and meditate shall be carried across to the other shore. ||1||Pause||
ਸੁਨਿਮਨਹਰਿਹਰਿਨਾਮੁਕਰਿਧਿਆਨੁ॥
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਧਿਆਨ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਰ।
Listen, O mind: meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਸੁਨਿਮਨਹਰਿਕੀਰਤਿਅਠਸਠਿਮਜਾਨੁ॥
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਰ (ਇਹੀ ਹੈ) ਅਠਾਹਠ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ।
Listen, O mind: the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises is equal to bathing at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage.
ਸੁਨਿਮਨਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪਾਵਹਿਮਾਨੁ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਰ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਖੱਟੇਂਗਾ ॥੧॥
Listen, O mind: as Gurmukh, you shall be blessed with honor. ||1||
ਜਪਿਮਨਪਰਮੇਸੁਰੁਪਰਧਾਨੁ॥
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮੇਸਰ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ (ਉਹੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ) ਵੱਡਾ (ਹੈ)।
O mind, chant and meditate on the Supreme Transcendent Lord God.
ਖਿਨਖੋਵੈਪਾਪਕੋਟਾਨ॥
(ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ (ਇਕ) ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Millions of sins shall be destroyed in an instant.
ਮਿਲੁਨਾਨਕਹਰਿਭਗਵਾਨ॥੨॥੧॥੭॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਦਾ ਹਰੀ ਭਗਵਾਨ (ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹੁ ॥੨॥੧॥੭॥
O Nanak, you shall meet with the Lord God. ||2||1||7||
ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀਮਹਲਾ੫ਬਿਭਾਸ॥
ਰਾਗ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀ/ਬਿਭਾਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ।
Prabhaatee, Fifth Mahalaa, Bibhaas:
ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਮਨੁਹਰਿਕੀਆਤਨੁਸਭੁਸਾਜਿਆ॥
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ (ਤੇਰਾ) ਮਨ ਬਣਾਇਆ, (ਤੇਰਾ) ਸਰੀਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ,
The Lord created the mind, and fashioned the entire body.
ਪੰਚਤਤਰਚਿਜੋਤਿਨਿਵਾਜਿਆ॥
(ਮਿੱਟੀ ਹਵਾ ਆਦਿਕ) ਪੰਜ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੁਤਲਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ) ਜੋਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
From the five elements, He formed it, and infused His Light within it.
ਸਿਹਜਾਧਰਤਿਬਰਤਨਕਉਪਾਨੀ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਲੇਟਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ, (ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਵਰਤਣ ਲਈ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
He made the earth its bed, and water for it to use.
ਨਿਮਖਨਵਿਸਾਰਹੁਸੇਵਹੁਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਨੀ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਭੁਲਾਓ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ ॥੧॥
Do not forget Him for an instant; serve the Lord of the World. ||1||
ਮਨਸਤਿਗੁਰੁਸੇਵਿਹੋਇਪਰਮਗਤੇ॥
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
O mind, serve the True Guru, and obtain the supreme status.
ਹਰਖਸੋਗਤੇਰਹਹਿਨਿਰਾਰਾਤਾਂਤੂਪਾਵਹਿਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤੇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਜੇ ਤੂੰ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਗ਼ਮੀ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹੇਂ, ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਏਂਗਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
If you remain unattached and unaffected by sorrow and joy, then you shall find the Lord of Life. ||1||Pause||
ਕਾਪੜਭੋਗਰਸਅਨਿਕਭੁੰਚਾਏ॥
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ (ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ) ਕੱਪੜੇ ਵਰਤਣ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੇ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਚੰਗੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਖਾਣ-ਪੀਣ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੇ,
He makes all the various pleasures, clothes and foods for you to enjoy.
ਮਾਤਪਿਤਾਕੁਟੰਬਸਗਲਬਨਾਏ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਪਰਵਾਰ (ਆਦਿਕ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ,
He made your mother, father and all relatives.
ਰਿਜਕੁਸਮਾਹੇਜਲਿਥਲਿਮੀਤ॥
ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਰਿਜ਼ਕ ਅਪੜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
He provides sustenance to all, in the water and on the land, O friend.
ਸੋਹਰਿਸੇਵਹੁਨੀਤਾਨੀਤ॥੨॥
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ ॥੨॥
So serve the Lord, forever and ever. ||2||
ਤਹਾਸਖਾਈਜਹਕੋਇਨਹੋਵੈ॥
ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉੱਥੇ (ਭੀ) ਸਾਥੀ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ,
He shall be your Helper and Support there, where no one else can help you.
ਕੋਟਿਅਪ੍ਰਾਧਇਕਖਿਨਮਹਿਧੋਵੈ॥
(ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਪਾਪ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਧੋ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He washes away millions of sins in an instant.
ਦਾਤਿਕਰੈਨਹੀਪਛੋੁਤਾਵੈ॥
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਦੇ (ਇਸ ਗੱਲੋਂ) ਪਛੁਤਾਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
He bestows His Gifts, and never regrets.
ਏਕਾਬਖਸਫਿਰਿਬਹੁਰਿਨਬੁਲਾਵੈ॥੩॥
(ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਉਤੇ) ਇਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲੇਖਾ ਮੰਗਣ ਲਈ) ਫਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੱਦਦਾ ॥੩॥
He forgives, once and for all, and never asks for one's account again. ||3||
