ਗੁਰਕੈਸਬਦਿਰਹਿਆਭਰਪੂਰਿ॥੭॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, He is pervading and permeating everywhere. ||7||
ਆਪੇਬਖਸੇਦੇਇਪਿਆਰੁ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ) ਪਿਆਰ (ਦੀ ਦਾਤ) ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
God Himself forgives, and bestows His Love.
ਹਉਮੈਰੋਗੁਵਡਾਸੰਸਾਰਿ॥
(ਉਂਞ ਤਾਂ) ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਹਉਮੈ ਦਾ ਬੜਾ ਭਾਰੀ ਰੋਗ ਹੈ।
The world is suffering from the terrible disease of egotism.
ਗੁਰਕਿਰਪਾਤੇਏਹੁਰੋਗੁਜਾਇ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਇਹ ਰੋਗ ਦੂਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
By Guru's Grace, this disease is cured.
ਨਾਨਕਸਾਚੇਸਾਚਿਸਮਾਇ॥੮॥੧॥੩॥੫॥੮॥
ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੀ ਯਾਦ) ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੮॥੧॥੩॥੫॥੮॥
O Nanak, through the Truth, the mortal remains immersed in the True Lord. ||8||1||3||5||8||

ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮਪ੍ਰੇਮਭਗਤਿਕੇਦਾਤੇ॥
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ (ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ।
My Beloved Lord is the Giver of loving devotional worship.
ਅਪਨੇਜਨਸੰਗਿਰਾਤੇ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
His humble servants are imbued with His Love.
ਜਨਸੰਗਿਰਾਤੇਦਿਨਸੁਰਾਤੇਇਕਨਿਮਖਮਨਹੁਨਵੀਸਰੈ॥
ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ।
He is imbued with His servants, day and night; He does not forget them from His Mind, even for an instant.
ਗੋਪਾਲਗੁਣਨਿਧਿਸਦਾਸੰਗੇਸਰਬਗੁਣਜਗਦੀਸਰੈ॥
ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਨਾਲ ਹੈ, ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਗੁਣ ਹਨ।
He is the Lord of the World, the Treasure of virtue; He is always with me. All glorious virtues belong to the Lord of the Universe.
ਮਨੁਮੋਹਿਲੀਨਾਚਰਨਸੰਗੇਨਾਮਰਸਿਜਨਮਾਤੇ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਸਤ ਕਰੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਸੇਵਕ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
With His Feet, He has fascinated my mind; as His humble servant, I am intoxicated with love for His Name.
ਨਾਨਕਪ੍ਰੀਤਮਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਸਦਹੂੰਕਿਨੈਕੋਟਿਮਧੇਜਾਤੇ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਹੈ। ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਨਾਲ) ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
O Nanak, my Beloved is forever Merciful; out of millions, hardly anyone realizes Him. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮਤੇਰੀਗਤਿਅਗਮਅਪਾਰੇ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ।
O Beloved, Your state is inaccessible and infinite.
ਮਹਾਪਤਿਤਤੁਮੑਤਾਰੇ॥
ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਂਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ।
You save even the worst sinners.
ਪਤਿਤਪਾਵਨਭਗਤਿਵਛਲਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਸਿੰਧੁਸੁਆਮੀਆ॥
ਹੇ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੂੰ ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈਂ।
He is the Purifier of sinners, the Lover of His devotees, the Ocean of mercy, our Lord and Master.
ਸੰਤਸੰਗੇਭਜੁਨਿਸੰਗੇਰਂਉਸਦਾਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀਆ॥
(ਹੇ ਮਨ!) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿੱਕ ਕੇ) ਝਾਕਾ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ, ਉਸ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ।
In the Society of the Saints, vibrate and meditate on Him with commitment forever; He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਕੋਟਿਜਨਮਭ੍ਰਮੰਤਜੋਨੀਤੇਨਾਮਸਿਮਰਤਤਾਰੇ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜੀਵ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ (ਜੂਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲਏ ਗਏ।
Those who wander in reincarnation through millions of births, are saved and carried across, by meditating in remembrance on the Naam.
ਨਾਨਕਦਰਸਪਿਆਸਹਰਿਜੀਉਆਪਿਲੇਹੁਸਮੑਾਰੇ॥੨॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਵੋ ॥੨॥
Nanak is thirsty for the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, O Dear Lord; please take care of him. ||2||
ਹਰਿਚਰਨਕਮਲਮਨੁਲੀਨਾ॥
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! (ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੇਰਾ) ਮਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹੇ।
My mind is absorbed in the Lotus Feet of the Lord.
ਪ੍ਰਭਜਲਜਨਤੇਰੇਮੀਨਾ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ (ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀਆਂ) ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਹਨ (ਤੈਥੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜ ਕੇ ਜੀਉ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ)।
O God, You are the water; Your humble servants are fish.
ਜਲਮੀਨਪ੍ਰਭਜੀਉਏਕਤੂਹੈਭਿੰਨਆਨਨਜਾਨੀਐ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਪਾਣੀ ਤੇ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਹੈਂ, (ਤੈਥੋਂ) ਵਖਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
O Dear God, You alone are the water and the fish. I know that there is no difference between the two.
ਗਹਿਭੁਜਾਲੇਵਹੁਨਾਮੁਦੇਵਹੁਤਉਪ੍ਰਸਾਦੀਮਾਨੀਐ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੀ) ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜ ਲੈ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ) ਨਾਮ ਦੇਹ। ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਆਦਰ ਪਾ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
Please take hold of my arm and bless me with Your Name. I am honored only by Your Grace.
ਭਜੁਸਾਧਸੰਗੇਏਕਰੰਗੇਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਗੋਬਿਦਦੀਨਾ॥
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕ ਕੇ) ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ (ਉਸਦਾ) ਭਜਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ।
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, vibrate and meditate with love on the One Lord of the Universe, who is Merciful to the meek.
ਅਨਾਥਨੀਚਸਰਣਾਇਨਾਨਕਕਰਿਮਇਆਅਪੁਨਾਕੀਨਾ॥੩॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਰਨ ਆਏ ਨਿਖਸਮਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਨੀਚਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
Nanak, the lowly and helpless, seeks the Sanctuary of the Lord, who in His Kindness has made him His Own. ||3||
ਆਪਸਕਉਆਪੁਮਿਲਾਇਆ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ (ਹੀ) ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਭੀ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ।)
He unites us with Himself.
ਭ੍ਰਮਭੰਜਨਹਰਿਰਾਇਆ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
Our Sovereign Lord King is the Destroyer of fear.
ਆਚਰਜਸੁਆਮੀਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀਮਿਲੇਗੁਣਨਿਧਿਪਿਆਰਿਆ॥
ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅਸਚਰਜ-ਰੂਪ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
My Wondrous Lord and Master is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. My Beloved, the Treasure of virtue, has met me.
ਮਹਾਮੰਗਲਸੂਖਉਪਜੇਗੋਬਿੰਦਗੁਣਨਿਤਸਾਰਿਆ॥
ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਹਾਨ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਸੁਖ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Supreme happiness and peace well up, as I cherish the Glorious Virtues of the Lord of the Universe.
ਮਿਲਿਸੰਗਿਸੋਹੇਦੇਖਿਮੋਹੇਪੁਰਬਿਲਿਖਿਆਪਾਇਆ॥
ਪਰ, ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ (ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਲੇਖ) ਲਿਖਿਆ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ) ਉੱਘੜ ਪਿਆ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਗਏ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
Meeting with Him, I am embellished and exalted; gazing on Him, I am fascinated, and I realize my pre-ordained destiny.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿਨਾਨਕਸਰਨਿਤਿਨਕੀਜਿਨੑੀਹਰਿਹਰਿਧਿਆਇਆ॥੪॥੧॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੧॥
Prays Nanak, I seek the Sanctuary of those who meditate on the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||1||
ਵਾਰਮਲਾਰਕੀਮਹਲਾ੧ਰਾਣੇਕੈਲਾਸਤਥਾਮਾਲਦੇਕੀਧੁਨਿ॥
ਰਾਗ ਮਲਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਚਾਰ-ਬੰਦਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ। ਰਾਣੇ ਕੈਲਾਸ ਤੇ ਮਾਲਦੇ ਦੀ ਧੁਨ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਗਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ। ਰਾਣੇ ਕੈਲਾਸ ਤੇ ਮਾਲਦੇ ਦੀ ਧੁਨ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਗਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ।

ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

Shalok, Third Mahalaa:
ਗੁਰਿਮਿਲਿਐਮਨੁਰਹਸੀਐਜਿਉਵੁਠੈਧਰਣਿਸੀਗਾਰੁ॥
ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ ਤਾਂ ਮਨ ਖਿੜ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੀਂਹ ਪਿਆਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਸਜਾਵਟ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
Meeting with the Guru, the mind is delighted, like the earth embellished by the rain.
ਸਭਦਿਸੈਹਰੀਆਵਲੀਸਰਭਰੇਸੁਭਰਤਾਲ॥
ਸਾਰੀ (ਧਰਤੀ) ਹਰੀ ਹੀ ਹਰੀ ਦਿੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਤੇ ਤਲਾਬ ਨਕਾ ਨਕ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Everything becomes green and lush; the pools and ponds are filled to overflowing.
ਅੰਦਰੁਰਚੈਸਚਰੰਗਿਜਿਉਮੰਜੀਠੈਲਾਲੁ॥
(ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਰਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮਜੀਠ ਵਾਂਗ ਰੱਤਾ (ਪੱਕੇ ਪਿਆਰ-ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ) ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
The inner self is imbued with the deep crimson color of love for the True Lord.
ਕਮਲੁਵਿਗਸੈਸਚੁਮਨਿਗੁਰਕੈਸਬਦਿਨਿਹਾਲੁ॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਕਉਲ ਖਿੜ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੱਚਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The heart-lotus blossoms forth and the mind becomes true; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, it is ecstatic and exalted.
