ਬਿਨੁਸਤਿਗੁਰਕਿਨੈਨਪਾਇਓਮਨਿਵੇਖਹੁਕੋਪਤੀਆਇ॥
ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਕੋਈ ਧਿਰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਰਨਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਵੇ, ਗੁਰੂ (ਦੀ ਸਰਨ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਭੀ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ) ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।
Without the True Guru, no one finds the Lord; anyone can try and see.
ਹਰਿਕਿਰਪਾਤੇਸਤਿਗੁਰੁਪਾਈਐਭੇਟੈਸਹਜਿਸੁਭਾਇ॥
ਗੁਰੂ (ਭੀ) ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ, ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
By the Lord's Grace, the True Guru is found, and then the Lord is met with intuitive ease.
ਮਨਮੁਖਭਰਮਿਭੁਲਾਇਆਬਿਨੁਭਾਗਾਹਰਿਧਨੁਨਪਾਇ॥੫॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਨੇ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਸਮਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੫॥
The self-willed manmukh is deluded by doubt; without good destiny, the Lord's wealth is not obtained. ||5||
ਤ੍ਰੈਗੁਣਸਭਾਧਾਤੁਹੈਪੜਿਪੜਿਕਰਹਿਵੀਚਾਰੁ॥
(ਪੰਡਿਤ ਲੋਕ ਵੇਦ ਆਦਿਕ ਧਰਮ-ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪੜ੍ਹ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ (ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਰਮ-ਕਾਂਡ ਦਾ ਹੀ) ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ, ਇਹ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਨਿਰੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
The three dispositions are completely distracting; people read and study and contemplate them.
ਮੁਕਤਿਕਦੇਨਹੋਵਈਨਹੁਪਾਇਨਿੑਮੋਖਦੁਆਰੁ॥
(ਇਸ ਉੱਦਮ ਨਾਲ) ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ, (ਉਹ ਲੋਕ) ਮਾਇਆ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਪਾਣ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦੇ।
Those people are never liberated; they do not find the Door of Salvation.
ਬਿਨੁਸਤਿਗੁਰਬੰਧਨਨਤੁਟਹੀਨਾਮਿਨਲਗੈਪਿਆਰੁ॥੬॥
ਗੁਰੂ (ਦੀ ਸਰਨ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀਆਂ) ਫਾਹੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਟੁੱਟਦੀਆਂ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੬॥
Without the True Guru, they are never released from bondage; they do not embrace love for the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||6||
ਪੜਿਪੜਿਪੰਡਿਤਮੋਨੀਥਕੇਬੇਦਾਂਕਾਅਭਿਆਸੁ॥
ਪੰਡਿਤ ਲੋਕ ਮੁਨੀ ਲੋਕ (ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪੜ੍ਹ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਥੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਕਰਮ ਕਾਂਡ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਵੇਦ (ਆਦਿਕ ਧਰਮ-ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੀ) ਅਭਿਆਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
The Pandits, the religious scholars, and the silent sages, reading and studying the Vedas, have grown weary.
ਹਰਿਨਾਮੁਚਿਤਿਨਆਵਈਨਹਨਿਜਘਰਿਹੋਵੈਵਾਸੁ॥
(ਪਰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
They do not even think of the Lord's Name; they do not dwell in the home of their own inner being.
ਜਮਕਾਲੁਸਿਰਹੁਨਉਤਰੈਅੰਤਰਿਕਪਟਵਿਣਾਸੁ॥੭॥
ਸਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੱਕਦਾ, ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਠੱਗੀ (ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿਣ ਕਰਕੇ) ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
The Messenger of Death hovers over their heads; they are ruined by the deceit within themselves. ||7||
ਹਰਿਨਾਵੈਨੋਸਭੁਕੋਪਰਤਾਪਦਾਵਿਣੁਭਾਗਾਂਪਾਇਆਨਜਾਇ॥
(ਉਂਞ ਤਾਂ) ਹਰੇਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਤਾਂਘਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਚੰਗੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
Everyone longs for the Name of the Lord; without good destiny, it is not obtained.
ਨਦਰਿਕਰੇਗੁਰੁਭੇਟੀਐਹਰਿਨਾਮੁਵਸੈਮਨਿਆਇ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
When the Lord bestows His Glance of Grace, the mortal meets the True Guru, and the Lord's Name comes to dwell within the mind.
ਨਾਨਕਨਾਮੇਹੀਪਤਿਊਪਜੈਹਰਿਸਿਉਰਹਾਂਸਮਾਇ॥੮॥੨॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ (ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੮॥੨॥
O Nanak, through the Name, honor wells up, and the mortal remains immersed in the Lord. ||8||2||
ਮਲਾਰਮਹਲਾ੩ਅਸਟਪਦੀਘਰੁ੨॥
ਰਾਗ ਮਲਾਰ, ਘਰ ੨ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਅੱਠ-ਬੰਦਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ।

ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਹਰਿਹਰਿਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਕਰੇਗੁਰਕੀਕਾਰੈਲਾਏ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿਚ ਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
When the Lord shows His Mercy, He enjoins the mortal to work for the Guru.
ਦੁਖੁਪਲੑਰਿਹਰਿਨਾਮੁਵਸਾਏ॥
(ਜਿਹੜਾ ਗੁਰੂ) ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
His pains are taken away, and the Lord's Name comes to dwell within.
ਸਾਚੀਗਤਿਸਾਚੈਚਿਤੁਲਾਏ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ) ਸੁਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
True deliverance comes by focusing one's consciousness on the True Lord.
ਗੁਰਕੀਬਾਣੀਸਬਦਿਸੁਣਾਏ॥੧॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
Listen to the Shabad, and the Word of the Guru's Bani. ||1||
ਮਨਮੇਰੇਹਰਿਹਰਿਸੇਵਿਨਿਧਾਨੁ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ, (ਇਹੀ ਹੈ) ਅਸਲ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ।
O my mind, serve the Lord, Har, Har, the true treasure.
ਗੁਰਕਿਰਪਾਤੇਹਰਿਧਨੁਪਾਈਐਅਨਦਿਨੁਲਾਗੈਸਹਜਿਧਿਆਨੁ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ (ਇਹ) ਧਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੁੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
By Guru's Grace, the wealth of the Lord is obtained. Night and day, focus your meditation on the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਬਿਨੁਪਿਰਕਾਮਣਿਕਰੇਸਂੀਗਾਰੁ॥
(ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜਿਹੜੀ) ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਖਸਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਸਰੀਰਕ) ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ,
The soul-bride who adorns herself without her Husband Lord,
ਦੁਹਚਾਰਣੀਕਹੀਐਨਿਤਹੋਇਖੁਆਰੁ॥
ਉਹ ਭੈੜੇ ਆਚਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਆਖੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
is ill-mannered and vile, wasted away into ruin.
ਮਨਮੁਖਕਾਇਹੁਬਾਦਿਆਚਾਰੁ॥
(ਤਿਵੇਂ) ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਰਵਈਆ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
This is the useless way of life of the self-willed manmukh.
ਬਹੁਕਰਮਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਵਹਿਨਾਮੁਵਿਸਾਰਿ॥੨॥
ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਬਥੇਰੇ ਵਿਖਾਵੇ ਦੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਾਕੀਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
Forgetting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, he performs all sorts of empty rituals. ||2||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਕਾਮਣਿਬਣਿਆਸੀਗਾਰੁ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਸੁਹਜ ਫਬਦਾ ਹੈ,
The bride who is Gurmukh is beautifully embellished.
ਸਬਦੇਪਿਰੁਰਾਖਿਆਉਰਧਾਰਿ॥
ਕਿ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ।
Through the Word of the Shabad, she enshrines her Husband Lord within her heart.
ਏਕੁਪਛਾਣੈਹਉਮੈਮਾਰਿ॥
ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਮ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
She realizes the One Lord, and subdues her ego.
ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤੀਕਹੀਐਨਾਰਿ॥੩॥
ਉਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਭਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
That soul-bride is virtuous and noble. ||3||
ਬਿਨੁਗੁਰਦਾਤੇਕਿਨੈਨਪਾਇਆ॥
(ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ) ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਭੀ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।
Without the Guru, the Giver, no one finds the Lord.
ਮਨਮੁਖਲੋਭਿਦੂਜੈਲੋਭਾਇਆ॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਲੋਭ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਹੋਰ (ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ) ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The greedy self-willed manmukh is attracted and engrossed in duality.
ਐਸੇਗਿਆਨੀਬੂਝਹੁਕੋਇ॥
ਹੇ ਗਿਆਨਵਾਨ! ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਪਈ ਹੈ,
Only a few spiritual teachers realize this,
ਬਿਨੁਗੁਰਭੇਟੇਮੁਕਤਿਨਹੋਇ॥੪॥
ਤਾਂ ਇਉਂ ਸਮਝ ਰੱਖੋ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ) ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ॥੪॥
that without meeting the Guru, liberation is not obtained. ||4||
ਕਹਿਕਹਿਕਹਣੁਕਹੈਸਭੁਕੋਇ॥
(ਇਹ) ਫੜ (ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ) ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਮਾਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ,
Everyone tells the stories told by others.
ਬਿਨੁਮਨਮੂਏਭਗਤਿਨਹੋਇ॥
ਪਰ ਮਨ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਭਗਤੀ ਹੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ।
Without subduing the mind, devotional worship does not come.
ਗਿਆਨਮਤੀਕਮਲਪਰਗਾਸੁ॥
ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਵਾਲੀ ਮੱਤ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਿਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਕੰਵਲ ਦਾ ਖਿੜਾਉ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
When the intellect achieves spiritual wisdom, the heart-lotus blossoms forth.
ਤਿਤੁਘਟਿਨਾਮੈਨਾਮਿਨਿਵਾਸੁ॥੫॥
ਨਾਮ (ਜਪਣ) ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਸਦਾ ਲਈ) ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, comes to abide in that heart. ||5||
ਹਉਮੈਭਗਤਿਕਰੇਸਭੁਕੋਇ॥
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਆਪਣੀ) ਹਉਮੈ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
In egotism, everyone can pretend to worship God with devotion.
ਨਾਮਨੁਭੀਜੈਨਾਸੁਖੁਹੋਇ॥
ਪਰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਨਾਲ ਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਉਸਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
But this does not soften the mind, and it does not bring peace.
ਕਹਿਕਹਿਕਹਣੁਆਪੁਜਾਣਾਏ॥
ਇਹ ਫੜ (ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ) ਮਾਰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ (ਭਗਤ) ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
By speaking and preaching, the mortal only shows off his self-conceit.
ਬਿਰਥੀਭਗਤਿਸਭੁਜਨਮੁਗਵਾਏ॥੬॥
(ਪਰ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ) ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾਰਾ) ਜਨਮ ਗਵਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
His devotional worship is useless, and his life is a total waste. ||6||
ਸੇਭਗਤਸਤਿਗੁਰਮਨਿਭਾਏ॥
(ਅਸਲ) ਭਗਤ ਉਹ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ,
They alone are devotees, who are pleasing to the Mind of the True Guru.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁਨਾਮਿਰਹੇਲਿਵਲਾਏ॥
ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
Night and day, they remain lovingly attuned to the Name.
ਸਦਹੀਨਾਮੁਵੇਖਹਿਹਜੂਰਿ॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ,
They behold the Naam, the Name of the Lord, ever-present, near at hand.
