ਪਰਪੰਚਵੇਖਿਰਹਿਆਵਿਸਮਾਦੁ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਰਚੀ ਇਸ) ਜਗਤ-ਖੇਡ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ 'ਵਾਹ ਵਾਹ' ਕਰ ਉੱਠਦਾ ਹੈ।
Gazing upon the wonder of God's Creation, I am wonder-struck and amazed.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪਾਈਐਨਾਮਪ੍ਰਸਾਦੁ॥੩॥
(ਪਰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
The Gurmukh obtains the Naam, the Name of the Lord, by His Grace. ||3||
ਆਪੇਕਰਤਾਸਭਿਰਸਭੋਗ॥
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਸ ਭੋਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
The Creator Himself enjoys all delights.
ਜੋਕਿਛੁਕਰੇਸੋਈਪਰੁਹੋਗ॥
ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Whatever He does, surely comes to pass.
ਵਡਾਦਾਤਾਤਿਲੁਨਤਮਾਇ॥
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਲਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
He is the Great Giver; He has no greed at all.
ਨਾਨਕਮਿਲੀਐਸਬਦੁਕਮਾਇ॥੪॥੬॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਢਾਲ ਕੇ (ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੬॥
O Nanak, living the Word of the Shabad, the mortal meets with God. ||4||6||
ਬਸੰਤੁਮਹਲਾ੩॥
Basant, Third Mahalaa:
ਪੂਰੈਭਾਗਿਸਚੁਕਾਰਕਮਾਵੈ॥
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
By perfect destiny, one acts in truth.
ਏਕੋਚੇਤੈਫਿਰਿਜੋਨਿਨਆਵੈ॥
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ।
Remembering the One Lord, one does not have to enter the cycle of reincarnation.
ਸਫਲਜਨਮੁਇਸੁਜਗਮਹਿਆਇਆ॥
ਇਸ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
Fruitful is the coming into the world, and the life of one
ਸਾਚਿਨਾਮਿਸਹਜਿਸਮਾਇਆ॥੧॥
ਜੋ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
who remains intuitively absorbed in the True Name. ||1||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਕਾਰਕਰਹੁਲਿਵਲਾਇ॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ।
The Gurmukh acts, lovingly attuned to the Lord.
ਹਰਿਨਾਮੁਸੇਵਹੁਵਿਚਹੁਆਪੁਗਵਾਇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Be dedicated to the Lord's Name, and eradicate self-conceit from within. ||1||Pause||
ਤਿਸੁਜਨਕੀਹੈਸਾਚੀਬਾਣੀ॥
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਟੇਕ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਉਹ ਬਾਣੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
True is the speech of that humble being;
ਗੁਰਕੈਸਬਦਿਜਗਮਾਹਿਸਮਾਣੀ॥
ਜਿਹੜੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਜੀਵਨ-ਰੌ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਸਮਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, it is spread throughout the world.
ਚਹੁਜੁਗਪਸਰੀਸਾਚੀਸੋਇ॥
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਅਟੱਲ ਸੋਭਾ ਚੌਹਾਂ ਜੁਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਖਿਲਰੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ
Throughout the four ages, his fame and glory spread.
ਨਾਮਿਰਤਾਜਨੁਪਰਗਟੁਹੋਇ॥੨॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
Imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the Lord's humble servant is recognized and renowned. ||2||
ਇਕਿਸਾਚੈਸਬਦਿਰਹੇਲਿਵਲਾਇ॥
ਕਈ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
Some remain lovingly attuned to the True Word of the Shabad.
ਸੇਜਨਸਾਚੇਸਾਚੈਭਾਇ॥
ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
True are those humble beings who love the True Lord.
ਸਾਚੁਧਿਆਇਨਿਦੇਖਿਹਜੂਰਿ॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
They meditate on the True Lord, and behold Him near at hand, ever-present.
ਸੰਤਜਨਾਕੀਪਗਪੰਕਜਧੂਰਿ॥੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ (ਆਪਣੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਤੇ ਲਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ) ॥੩॥
They are the dust of the lotus feet of the humble Saints. ||3||
ਏਕੋਕਰਤਾਅਵਰੁਨਕੋਇ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਇਕ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਜ਼ਰੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।
There is only One Creator Lord; there is no other at all.
ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀਮੇਲਾਵਾਹੋਇ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ) ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, comes Union with the Lord.
ਜਿਨਿਸਚੁਸੇਵਿਆਤਿਨਿਰਸੁਪਾਇਆ॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ।
Whoever serves the True Lord finds joy.
ਨਾਨਕਸਹਜੇਨਾਮਿਸਮਾਇਆ॥੪॥੭॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੭॥
O Nanak, he is intuitively absorbed in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||7||
ਬਸੰਤੁਮਹਲਾ੩॥
Basant, Third Mahalaa:
ਭਗਤਿਕਰਹਿਜਨਦੇਖਿਹਜੂਰਿ॥
ਭਗਤ-ਜਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
The Lord's humble servant worships Him, and beholds Him ever-present, near at hand.
ਸੰਤਜਨਾਕੀਪਗਪੰਕਜਧੂਰਿ॥
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ (ਆਪਣੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਤੇ ਲਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ)।
He is the dust of the lotus feet of the humble Saints.
ਹਰਿਸੇਤੀਸਦਰਹਹਿਲਿਵਲਾਇ॥
ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who remain lovingly attuned to the Lord forever
ਪੂਰੈਸਤਿਗੁਰਿਦੀਆਬੁਝਾਇ॥੧॥
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
are blessed with understanding by the Perfect True Guru. ||1||
ਦਾਸਾਕਾਦਾਸੁਵਿਰਲਾਕੋਈਹੋਇ॥
ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
How rare are those who become the slave of the Lord's slaves.
ਊਤਮਪਦਵੀਪਾਵੈਸੋਇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
They attain the supreme status. ||1||Pause||
ਏਕੋਸੇਵਹੁਅਵਰੁਨਕੋਇ॥
ਉਸ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ, ਜਿਸ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ,
So serve the One Lord, and no other.
ਜਿਤੁਸੇਵਿਐਸਦਾਸੁਖੁਹੋਇ॥
ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Serving Him, eternal peace is obtained.
ਨਾਓਹੁਮਰੈਨਆਵੈਜਾਇ॥
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਹ ਕਦੇ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He does not die; He does not come and go in reincarnation.
ਤਿਸੁਬਿਨੁਅਵਰੁਸੇਵੀਕਿਉਮਾਇ॥੨॥
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੀ) ਮਾਂ! ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰਾਂ? ॥੨॥
Why should I serve any other than Him, O my mother? ||2||
ਸੇਜਨਸਾਚੇਜਿਨੀਸਾਚੁਪਛਾਣਿਆ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲਈ, ਉਹ ਅਟੱਲ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
True are those humble beings who realize the True Lord.
ਆਪੁਮਾਰਿਸਹਜੇਨਾਮਿਸਮਾਣਿਆ॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਗਵਾ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Conquering their self-conceit, they merge intuitively into the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਨਾਮੁਪਰਾਪਤਿਹੋਇ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ,
The Gurmukhs gather in the Naam.
ਮਨੁਨਿਰਮਲੁਨਿਰਮਲਸਚੁਸੋਇ॥੩॥
(ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਹੀ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੩॥
Their minds are immaculate, and their reputations are immaculate. ||3||
ਜਿਨਿਗਿਆਨੁਕੀਆਤਿਸੁਹਰਿਤੂਜਾਣੁ॥
ਜਿਸ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਨੇ (ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖ।
Know the Lord, who gave you spiritual wisdom,
ਸਾਚਸਬਦਿਪ੍ਰਭੁਏਕੁਸਿਞਾਣੁ॥
ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖ।
and realize the One God, through the True Word of the Shabad.
ਹਰਿਰਸੁਚਾਖੈਤਾਂਸੁਧਿਹੋਇ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਚੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦੋਂ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ) ਸਮਝ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
When the mortal tastes the sublime essence of the Lord, he becomes pure and holy.
ਨਾਨਕਨਾਮਿਰਤੇਸਚੁਸੋਇ॥੪॥੮॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀਜ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੪॥੮॥
O Nanak, those who are imbued with the Naam - their reputations are true. ||4||8||

ਨਾਮਿਰਤੇਕੁਲਾਂਕਾਕਰਹਿਉਧਾਰੁ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ) ਕੁਲਾਂ ਦਾ (ਭੀ) ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who are imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord - their generations are redeemed and saved.
ਸਾਚੀਬਾਣੀਨਾਮਪਿਆਰੁ॥
ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ), ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ)।
True is their speech; they love the Naam.
ਮਨਮੁਖਭੂਲੇਕਾਹੇਆਏ॥
ਪਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Why have the wandering self-willed manmukhs even come into the world?
ਨਾਮਹੁਭੂਲੇਜਨਮੁਗਵਾਏ॥੧॥
ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝ ਕੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਜਾਈਂ ਗਵਾ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਹੇ ਆਏ ਜਿਹੇ ਨਾਹ ਆਏ ॥੧॥
Forgetting the Naam, the mortals waste their lives away. ||1||
ਜੀਵਤਮਰੈਮਰਿਮਰਣੁਸਵਾਰੈ॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਤ-ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਮਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
One who dies while yet alive, truly dies, and embellishes his death.
ਗੁਰਕੈਸਬਦਿਸਾਚੁਉਰਧਾਰੈ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, he enshrines the True Lord within his heart. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਚੁਭੋਜਨੁਪਵਿਤੁਸਰੀਰਾ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ) ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Truth is the food of the Gurmukh; his body is sanctified and pure.
ਮਨੁਨਿਰਮਲੁਸਦਗੁਣੀਗਹੀਰਾ॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਜਿਗਰੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰੀ ਸਦਾ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ)।
His mind is immaculate; he is forever the ocean of virtue.
ਜੰਮੈਮਰੈਨਆਵੈਜਾਇ॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ,
He is not forced to come and go in the cycle of birth and death.
ਗੁਰਪਰਸਾਦੀਸਾਚਿਸਮਾਇ॥੨॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
By Guru's Grace, he merges in the True Lord. ||2||
ਸਾਚਾਸੇਵਹੁਸਾਚੁਪਛਾਣੈ॥
ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ।
Serving the True Lord, one realizes Truth.
ਗੁਰਕੈਸਬਦਿਹਰਿਦਰਿਨੀਸਾਣੈ॥
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, he goes to the Lord's Court with his banners flying proudly.
