ਤਬਪ੍ਰਭਕਾਜੁਸਵਾਰਹਿਆਇ॥੧॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ (ਇਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਵੱਸ ਕੇ ਜੀਵਨ-ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
then God comes and resolves his affairs. ||1||
ਐਸਾਗਿਆਨੁਬਿਚਾਰੁਮਨਾ॥
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਕੋਈ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਸਮਝ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੋਚ (ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਵਲ ਪਰਤ ਸਕੇਂ)।
Contemplate such spiritual wisdom, O mortal man.
ਹਰਿਕੀਨਸਿਮਰਹੁਦੁਖਭੰਜਨਾ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਭ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ? ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Why not meditate in remembrance on the Lord, the Destroyer of pain? ||1||Pause||
ਜਬਲਗੁਸਿੰਘੁਰਹੈਬਨਮਾਹਿ॥
ਜਦ ਤਾਈਂ ਇਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਰੂਪ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ-ਸ਼ੇਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
As long as the tiger lives in the forest,
ਤਬਲਗੁਬਨੁਫੂਲੈਹੀਨਾਹਿ॥
ਤਦ ਤਾਈਂ ਇਹ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਫੁਲਵਾੜੀ ਫੁੱਲਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਮਲ ਗੁਣ ਉੱਘੜਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ)।
the forest does not flower.
ਜਬਹੀਸਿਆਰੁਸਿੰਘਕਉਖਾਇ॥
ਪਰ, ਜਦੋਂ (ਨਿਮ੍ਰਤਾ-ਰੂਪ) ਗਿੱਦੜ (ਅਹੰਕਾਰ-) ਸ਼ੇਰ ਨੂੰ ਖਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
But when the jackal eats the tiger,
ਫੂਲਿਰਹੀਸਗਲੀਬਨਰਾਇ॥੨॥
ਤਾਂ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ) ਬਨਸਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਫੁੱਲ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
then the entire forest flowers. ||2||
ਜੀਤੋਬੂਡੈਹਾਰੋਤਿਰੈ॥
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਕਿਸੇ ਮਾਣ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ) ਇਹ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The victorious are drowned, while the defeated swim across.
ਗੁਰਪਰਸਾਦੀਪਾਰਿਉਤਰੈ॥
ਪਰ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗ਼ਰੀਬੀ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
By Guru's Grace, one crosses over and is saved.
ਦਾਸੁਕਬੀਰੁਕਹੈਸਮਝਾਇ॥
ਸੇਵਕ ਕਬੀਰ ਸਮਝਾ ਕੇ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
Slave Kabeer speaks and teaches:
ਕੇਵਲਰਾਮਰਹਹੁਲਿਵਲਾਇ॥੩॥੬॥੧੪॥
ਕਿ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖੋ ॥੩॥੬॥੧੪॥
remain lovingly absorbed, attuned to the Lord alone. ||3||6||14||
ਸਤਰਿਸੈਇਸਲਾਰਹੈਜਾਕੇ॥
ਜਿਸ ਖ਼ੁਦਾ ਦੇ ਸੱਤ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਫ਼ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇ (ਤੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ),
He has 7,000 commanders,
ਸਵਾਲਾਖੁਪੈਕਾਬਰਤਾਕੇ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਵਾ ਲੱਖ ਪੈਗ਼ੰਬਰ (ਤੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ),
and hundreds of thousands of prophets;
ਸੇਖਜੁਕਹੀਅਹਿਕੋਟਿਅਠਾਸੀ॥
ਅਠਾਸੀ ਕਰੋੜ ਉਸ ਦੇ (ਦਰ ਤੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਆਲਿਮ ਸ਼ੇਖ਼ ਕਹੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ,
He is said to have 88,000,000 shaykhs,
ਛਪਨਕੋਟਿਜਾਕੇਖੇਲਖਾਸੀ॥੧॥
ਤੇ ਛਵੰਜਾ ਕਰੋੜ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੁਸਾਹਿਬ (ਤੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਤਕ) ॥੧॥
and 56,000,000 attendants. ||1||
ਮੋਗਰੀਬਕੀਕੋਗੁਜਰਾਵੈ॥
ਮੇਰੀ ਗ਼ਰੀਬ ਦੀ ਅਰਜ਼ ਕੌਣ ਅਪੜਾਵੇਗਾ?
I am meek and poor - what chance do I have of being heard there?
ਮਜਲਸਿਦੂਰਿਮਹਲੁਕੋਪਾਵੈ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਫਿਰ ਤੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਦਰਬਾਰ ਦੂਰ (ਸਤਵੇਂ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਤੇ) ਹੈ। (ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਗ਼ਰੀਬ ਜੁਲਾਹ ਹਾਂ, ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਘਰ (ਮੇਰਾ) ਕੌਣ ਲੱਭੇਗਾ? ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
His Court is so far away; only a rare few attain the Mansion of His Presence. ||1||Pause||
ਤੇਤੀਸਕਰੋੜੀਹੈਖੇਲਖਾਨਾ॥
(ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੱਸਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਭੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ) ਤੇਤੀ ਕਰੋੜ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਹਨ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਭੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਸੁਣਨੀ ਹੈ?)।
He has 33,000,000 play-houses.
ਚਉਰਾਸੀਲਖਫਿਰੈਦਿਵਾਨਾਂ॥
ਚੌਰਾਸੀਹ ਲੱਖ ਜੂਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵ (ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝੇ ਹੋਏ) ਝੱਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
His beings wander insanely through 8.4 million incarnations.
ਬਾਬਾਆਦਮਕਉਕਿਛੁਨਦਰਿਦਿਖਾਈ॥
(ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਖ਼ੁਦਾ ਨੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਆਦਮ ਨੂੰ ਬਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਹੀ ਆਖਣ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) ਜਦੋਂ ਬਾਬਾ ਆਦਮ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹੁਕਮ-ਅਦੂਲੀ ਤੇ) ਰਤਾ ਕੁ ਅੱਖ ਵਿਖਾਈ,
He bestowed His Grace on Adam, the father of mankind,
ਉਨਿਭੀਭਿਸਤਿਘਨੇਰੀਪਾਈ॥੨॥
ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਆਦਮ ਨੇ ਭੀ ਉਹ ਬਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਥੋੜਾ ਚਿਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਣਿਆ (ਉੱਥੋਂ ਛੇਤੀ ਕੱਢਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਤੇ ਜੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਆਦਮ ਵਰਗੇ ਕੱਢੇ ਗਏ, ਤਾਂ ਦੱਸ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗ਼ਰੀਬ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਤਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ?) ॥੨॥
who then lived in paradise for a long time. ||2||
ਦਿਲਖਲਹਲੁਜਾਕੈਜਰਦਰੂਬਾਨੀ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਭੀ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਗੜਬੜ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੀ ਰੰਗਤ ਪੀਲੀ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਉਹ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਧੱਕਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ)।
Pale are the faces of those whose hearts are disturbed.
ਛੋਡਿਕਤੇਬਕਰੈਸੈਤਾਨੀ॥
ਅਜਿਹਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਧਰਮ-ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ (ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਾਹ) ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
They have forsaken their Bible, and practice Satanic evil.
ਦੁਨੀਆਦੋਸੁਰੋਸੁਹੈਲੋਈ॥
ਉਹ (ਅੰਞਾਣ-ਪੁਣੇ ਵਿਚ) ਦੁਨੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਗਤ ਤੇ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
One who blames the world, and is angry with people,
ਅਪਨਾਕੀਆਪਾਵੈਸੋਈ॥੩॥
(ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਉਹ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
shall receive the fruits of his own actions. ||3||
ਤੁਮਦਾਤੇਹਮਸਦਾਭਿਖਾਰੀ॥
(ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਬਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ) ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਦਾ) ਮੰਗਤਾ ਹਾਂ (ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਹੀ ਠੀਕ ਹੈ,
You are the Great Giver, O Lord; I am forever a beggar at Your Door.
ਦੇਉਜਬਾਬੁਹੋਇਬਜਗਾਰੀ॥
ਤੇਰੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਦਾਤ ਅੱਗੇ) ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਨਾਹ-ਨੁੱਕਰ ਕਰਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਗੁਨਹਗਾਰੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
If I were to deny You, then I would be a wretched sinner.
ਦਾਸੁਕਬੀਰੁਤੇਰੀਪਨਹਸਮਾਨਾਂ॥
ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਕਬੀਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ।
Slave Kabeer has entered Your Shelter.
ਭਿਸਤੁਨਜੀਕਿਰਾਖੁਰਹਮਾਨਾ॥੪॥੭॥੧੫॥
ਹੇ ਰਹਿਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਰੱਖ, (ਇਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ) ਬਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੭॥੧੫॥
Keep me near You, O Merciful Lord God - that is heaven for me. ||4||7||15||
ਸਭੁਕੋਈਚਲਨਕਹਤਹੈਊਹਾਂ॥
ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਵਿਚ ਅੱਪੜਨਾ ਹੈ।
Everyone speaks of going there,
ਨਾਜਾਨਉਬੈਕੁੰਠੁਹੈਕਹਾਂ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਪਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਈ, (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਹ) ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
but I do not even know where heaven is. ||1||Pause||
ਆਪਆਪਕਾਮਰਮੁਨਜਾਨਾਂ॥
(ਇਹਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ) ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਭੇਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ,
One who does not even know the mystery of his own self,
ਬਾਤਨਹੀਬੈਕੁੰਠੁਬਖਾਨਾਂ॥੧॥
ਨਿਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ 'ਬੈਕੁੰਠ' ਆਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
speaks of heaven, but it is only talk. ||1||
ਜਬਲਗੁਮਨਬੈਕੁੰਠਕੀਆਸ॥
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਜਦ ਤਕ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਅੱਪੜਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਸਾਂ ਹਨ,
As long as the mortal hopes for heaven,
ਤਬਲਗੁਨਾਹੀਚਰਨਨਿਵਾਸ॥੨॥
ਤਦ ਤਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੨॥
he will not dwell at the Lord's Feet. ||2||
ਖਾਈਕੋਟੁਨਪਰਲਪਗਾਰਾ॥
(ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ) ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਦੇ ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਖਾਈ ਹੈ, ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਹੈ, ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਫ਼ਸੀਲ ਹੈ।
Heaven is not a fort with moats and ramparts, and walls plastered with mud;
ਨਾਜਾਨਉਬੈਕੁੰਠਦੁਆਰਾ॥੩॥
ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ (ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ) ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਦਾ ਬੂਹਾ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
I do not know what heaven's gate is like. ||3||
ਕਹਿਕਮੀਰਅਬਕਹੀਐਕਾਹਿ॥
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ (ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਕਿਤੇ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ) ਕਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਆਖੀਏ,
Says Kabeer, now what more can I say?
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਬੈਕੁੰਠੈਆਹਿ॥੪॥੮॥੧੬॥
ਕਿ ਸਾਧ-ਸੰਗਤ ਹੀ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਹੈ? (ਤੇ ਉਹ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਹੈ) ॥੪॥੮॥੧੬॥
The Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, is heaven itself. ||4||8||16||
ਕਿਉਲੀਜੈਗਢੁਬੰਕਾਭਾਈ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਹ (ਸਰੀਰ-ਰੂਪ) ਪੱਕਾ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰਨਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ।
How can the beautiful fortress be conquered, O Siblings of Destiny?
ਦੋਵਰਕੋਟਅਰੁਤੇਵਰਖਾਈ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਇਸ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦ੍ਵੈਤ ਦੀ ਦੋਹਰੀ ਫ਼ਸੀਲ ਤੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਤੇਹਰੀ ਖਾਈ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
It has double walls and triple moats. ||1||Pause||
ਪਾਂਚਪਚੀਸਮੋਹਮਦਮਤਸਰਆਡੀਪਰਬਲਮਾਇਆ॥
ਬਲ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪੰਜ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ, ਪੰਝੀ ਤੱਤ, ਮੋਹ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ, ਈਰਖਾ (ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਲੜਨ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ)।
It is defended by the five elements, the twenty-five categories, attachment, pride, jealousy and the awesomely powerful Maya.
ਜਨਗਰੀਬਕੋਜੋਰੁਨਪਹੁਚੈਕਹਾਕਰਉਰਘੁਰਾਇਆ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੀ ਗ਼ਰੀਬ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਪੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ, (ਦੱਸ) ਮੈਂ ਕੀਹ ਕਰਾਂ? ॥੧॥
The poor mortal being does not have the strength to conquer it; what should I do now, O Lord? ||1||
ਕਾਮੁਕਿਵਾਰੀਦੁਖੁਸੁਖੁਦਰਵਾਨੀਪਾਪੁਪੁੰਨੁਦਰਵਾਜਾ॥
ਕਾਮ (ਇਸ ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ) ਬੂਹੇ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ, ਦੁਖ ਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਪਹਿਰੇਦਾਰ ਹਨ, ਪਾਪ ਤੇ ਪੁੰਨ (ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ) ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਹਨ,
Sexual desire is the window, pain and pleasure are the gate-keepers, virtue and sin are the gates.
ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁਪ੍ਰਧਾਨੁਮਹਾਬਡਦੁੰਦਰਤਹਮਨੁਮਾਵਾਸੀਰਾਜਾ॥੨॥
ਬੜਾ ਲੜਾਕਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ (ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦਾ) ਚੌਧਰੀ ਹੈ। ਅਜਿਹੇ ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਰਾਜਾ ਆਕੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
Anger is the great supreme commander, full of argument and strife, and the mind is the rebel king there. ||2||
ਸ੍ਵਾਦਸਨਾਹਟੋਪੁਮਮਤਾਕੋਕੁਬੁਧਿਕਮਾਨਚਢਾਈ॥
(ਜੀਭ ਦੇ) ਚਸਕੇ (ਮਨ-ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ) ਸੰਜੋਅ (ਪਹਿਨੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ), ਮਮਤਾ ਦਾ ਟੋਪ (ਪਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ), ਭੈੜੀ ਮੱਤ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਨ ਕੱਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ,
Their armor is the pleasure of tastes and flavors, their helmets are worldly attachments; they take aim with their bows of corrupt intellect.
ਤਿਸਨਾਤੀਰਰਹੇਘਟਭੀਤਰਿਇਉਗਢੁਲੀਓਨਜਾਈ॥੩॥
ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੇ ਤੀਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਕੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ (ਮੈਥੋਂ) ਜਿੱਤਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੩॥
The greed that fills their hearts is the arrow; with these things, their fortress is impregnable. ||3||
ਪ੍ਰੇਮਪਲੀਤਾਸੁਰਤਿਹਵਾਈਗੋਲਾਗਿਆਨੁਚਲਾਇਆ॥
(ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦਾ ਪਲੀਤਾ ਲਾਇਆ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੀ) ਸੁਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਹਵਾਈ ਬਣਾਇਆ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ) ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਗੋਲਾ ਚਲਾਇਆ,
But I have made divine love the fuse, and deep meditation the bomb; I have launched the rocket of spiritual wisdom.
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਅਗਨਿਸਹਜੇਪਰਜਾਲੀਏਕਹਿਚੋਟਸਿਝਾਇਆ॥੪॥
ਸਹਿਜ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਅੱਪੜ ਕੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਰੱਬੀ-ਜੋਤ ਜਗਾਈ, ਤਾਂ ਇੱਕੋ ਹੀ ਸੱਟ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ॥੪॥
The fire of God is lit by intuition, and with one shot, the fortress is taken. ||4||
ਸਤੁਸੰਤੋਖੁਲੈਲਰਨੇਲਾਗਾਤੋਰੇਦੁਇਦਰਵਾਜਾ॥
ਸਤ ਤੇ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ (ਉਸ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ) ਲੜਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ, ਦੋਵੇਂ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਮੈਂ ਭੰਨ ਲਏ,
Taking truth and contentment with me, I begin the battle and storm both the gates.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਅਰੁਗੁਰਕੀਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਤੇਪਕਰਿਓਗਢਕੋਰਾਜਾ॥੫॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦਾ (ਆਕੀ) ਰਾਜਾ ਫੜ ਲਿਆ ॥੫॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and by Guru's Grace, I have captured the king of the fortress. ||5||
