ਲਯੋਬੇੜਿਪਬੰਕੀਯੋਨਾਦਉੱਚੰ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਪਰਬਤ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰਾ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਉੱਚਾ ਨਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ
They besieged the mountain and began to shout at the top of their voice.
ਸੁਣੇਗਰਭਣੀਆਨਿਕੇਗਰਭਮੁਚੰ॥੧੮॥੫੬॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਗਰਭ-ਪਾਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ ॥੧੮॥੫੬॥
Which when heard could destroy the pregnancy of women.18.56.
ਸੁਣਿਯੋਨਾਦਸ੍ਰਵਣੰਕੀਯੋਦੇਵਿਕੋਪੰ॥
ਦੇਵੀ (ਨੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਦ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋਈ
When the goddess heard voice of the demon-chief, she was greatly enraged.
ਸਜੇਚਰਮਬਰਮੰਧਰੇਸੀਸਿਟੋਪੰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ (ਲੋਹੇ ਦਾ) ਟੋਪ ਰਖ ਕੇ ਢਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਕਵਚ ਸਜਾ ਲਿਆ।
She bedecked herself with shield and armour and wore the steel-helmet on her head.
ਭਈਸਿੰਘਸੁਆਰੰਕੀਯੋਨਾਦਉੱਚੰ॥
(ਉਹ) ਸ਼ੇਰ ਉਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਚਾ ਨਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ
She mounted the lion and shouted loudly.
ਸੁਨੇਦੀਹਦਾਨਵਾਨਕੇਮਾਨਮੁਚੰ॥੧੯॥੫੭॥
(ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ) ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਵਡੇ ਵਡੇ ਰਾਖਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੈਂਕੜ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਗਈ ॥੧੯॥੫੭॥
Hearing her shouts, the pride of the demons was destroyed.19.57.
ਮਹਾਕੋਪਿਦੇਵੀਧਸੀਸੈਨਮਧੰ॥
ਦੇਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੈਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਧਸ ਗਈ
In great ire, the goddess penetrated into the demon-army.
ਕਰੇਬੀਰਬੰਕੇਤਹਾਅਧੁਅਧੰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਥੇ ਸਜੀਲੇ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਧੋ-ਅਧ ਵਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
She chopped into halves the great heroes.
ਜਿਸੈਧਾਇਕੈਸੂਲਸੈਥੀਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ (ਵੀ ਦੇਵੀ ਨੇ) ਭਜ ਕੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ੂਲ ਜਾਂ ਸੈਹੱਥੀ ਚਲਾਈ,
On whomsoever the goddess struck her blow with her trident and the destructive weapon (Saihathi)
ਤਿਨੇਫੇਰਿਪਾਣੰਨਬਾਣੰਸੰਭਾਰਿਯੋ॥੨੦॥੫੮॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਫਿਰ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਬਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਫੜਿਆ ॥੨੦॥੫੮॥
He could not hold again his bow and arrows in his hands.20.58.

ਤਿਸੈਮਾਰਿਡਾਰ੍ਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁਟਿਆ।
Whosover was shot with the arrow, he was killed instantly.
ਜਿਤੈਸਿੰਘਧਾਯੋ॥
ਜਿਧਰ ਵਲ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਤੈਸੈਨਘਾਯੋ॥੨੧॥੫੯॥
ਉਧਰ ਹੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨੧॥੫੯॥
Wherever the lion rushed forward, he destroyed the army.21.59.
ਜਿਤੈਘਾਇਡਾਲੇ॥
ਜਿਤਨੇ ਵੀ (ਦੈਂਤ) ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ,
ਤਿਤੈਘਾਰਿਘਾਲੇ॥
ਉਤਨਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ (ਪਰਬਤਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ) ਦਰਾੜਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ (ਅਥਵਾ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਵਾਲੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ)।
All those who were killed, they were thrown into caves.
ਸਮੁਹਿਸਤ੍ਰੁਆਯੋ॥
ਜਿਤਨੇ ਵੀ ਵੈਰੀ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਏ,
ਸੁਜਾਨੇਨਪਾਯੋ॥੨੨॥੬੦॥
ਉਹ ਪਰਤ ਨਾ ਸਕੇ ॥੨੨॥੬੦॥
The enemies who confronted coul not return alive.22.60.

ਜਿਤਨੇ ਵੀ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਲਗੇ,

ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ।
Those who were active in the battlefield, they were all decimated.

ਜਿਤਨਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਫੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ,
ਤਿਤੇਮਾਰਡਾਲੇ॥੨੩॥੬੧॥
ਉਤਨਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ (ਦੇਵੀ ਨੇ) ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੨੩॥੬੧॥
Those who caught hold of weapons, they were all killed.23.61.
ਤਬੈਮਾਤਕਾਲੀ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਕਾਲੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਅਗਨੀ ਦੇ
ਤਪੀਤੇਜਜੁਵਾਲੀ॥
ਤੇਜ ਵਾਂਗ ਤਪ ਉਠੀ।
Then the mother Kali flared up like the flaming fire.
ਜਿਸੈਘਾਵਡਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਘਾਇਲ ਕੀਤਾ,
ਸੁਸੁਰਗੰਸਿਧਾਰਿਯੋ॥੨੪॥੬੨॥
ਉਹ ਸੁਅਰਗ ਸਿਧਾਰ ਗਿਆ ॥੨੪॥੬੨॥
To whomsoever she struck, he departed for heaven.24.62.
ਘਰੀਅਧਮਧੰ॥
(ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ
ਹਨਿਯੋਸੈਨਸੁਧੰ॥
ਅੱਧੀ ਘੜੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
The whole army was destroyed within a very short time.
ਹਨਿਯੋਧੂਮ੍ਰਨੈਣੰ॥
ਧੂਮ੍ਰ ਨੈਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਸੁਨਿਯੋਦੇਵਗੈਣੰ॥੨੫॥੬੩॥
(ਇਹ ਗੱਲ) ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਣੀ ॥੨੫॥੬੩॥
Dhumar Nain was killed and the gods heard about it in heaven.25.63.

The demon forces ran towards their king.
ਧੂਮ੍ਰਨੈਣਕਾਲੀਹਨਿਯੋਭਜੀਯੋਸੈਨਨਿਰਾਸ॥੨੬॥੬੪॥
(ਅਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗੀ ਕਿ) ਕਾਲੀ ਨੇ ਧੂਮ੍ਰ ਨੈਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ (ਸਾਡੀ) ਸੈਨਾ ਨਿਰਾਸ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਆਈ ਹੈ ॥੨੬॥੬੪॥
Intimating him that Kali had killed Dhumar Nain and the forces had fled in disappointment.26.64.

ਇਥੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕ ਦੇ ਚੰਡੀ-ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗ ਦੇ 'ਧੂਮ੍ਰਨੈਣ ਬਧ' ਨਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਅਧਿਆਇ ਦੀ ਸੁਭ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ॥੨॥

ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ।
In this way, killing the demons, the goddess Durga went to her abode.
ਜੋਯਹਕਥਾਪੜੈਸੁਨੈਰਿਧਿਸਿਧਿਗ੍ਰਿਹਿਤਾਸ॥੧॥੬੫॥
ਜੋ (ਵਿਅਕਤੀ) ਇਸ ਕਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹੇ ਜਾਂ ਸੁਣੇਗਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਰਿੱਧੀਆਂ-ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ॥੧॥੬੫॥
He who read or listens to this discourse, he will attain in his house wealth and miraculous powers.1.65.

ਧੂਮ੍ਰਨੈਣਜਬਸੁਣੇਸੰਘਾਰੇ॥
(ਸੁੰਭ ਨੇ) ਜਦੋਂ ਧੂਮ੍ਰਨੈਣ ਦੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ
When it was learnt that Dhumar Nain had been killed,
ਚੰਡਮੁੰਡਤਬਭੂਪਿਹਕਾਰੇ॥
ਤਾਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਚੰਡ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੰਡ ਨੂੰ (ਯੁੱਧ ਲਈ) ਬੁਲਾਇਆ।
The demon-king then called Chand and Mund.
ਬਹੁਬਿਧਿਕਰਪਠਏਸਨਮਾਨਾ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ) ਬਹੁਤ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਕਰਕੇ
They were sent after bestowing many honours on them.
ਹੈਗੈਪਤਿਦੀਏਰਥਨਾਨਾ॥੨॥੬੬॥
ਘੋੜਿਆਂ, ਹਾਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਸਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੨॥੬੬॥
And also many gifts like horses, elephants and chariots.2.66.
ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮਨਿਰਖਿਦੇਬੀਅਹਿਜੇਆਏ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦੇਵੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਆਏ ਸਨ,
Those who had earlier seen the goddess
ਤੇਧਵਲਾਗਿਰਿਓਰਿਪਠਾਏ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਲਾਸ਼ ਪਰਬਤ ਵਲ (ਸਥਿਤੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ) ਭੇਜਿਆ।
They were sent towards kailash mountain (as spies).
ਤਿਨਕੀਤਨਿਕਭਨਕਸੁਨਿਪਾਈ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ (ਆਉਣ ਦੀ) ਮਾੜੀ ਜਿਨੀ ਭਿਣਕ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਈ
When the goddess heard some rumour about them
ਨਿਸਿਰੀਸਸਤ੍ਰਅਸਤ੍ਰਲੈਮਾਈ॥੩॥੬੭॥
ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ-ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ (ਯੁੱਧ ਲਈ) ਨਿਕਲ ਪਈ ॥੩॥੬੭॥
She then promptly came down with her weapons and armour.3.67.
