ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹ ਕੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਕੋਸ਼ ਅਰਥ ਵੇਖੋ
ਜੋਗੀਕਹਹਿਜੋਗੁਭਲਮੀਠਾਅਵਰੁਨਦੂਜਾਭਾਈ॥
ਜੋਗੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ-ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੋਗ (ਦਾ ਮਾਰਗ ਹੀ) ਚੰਗਾ ਤੇ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਵਰਗਾ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ (ਸਾਧਨ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
The Yogi says that Yoga is good and sweet, and nothing else is, O Siblings of Destiny.
जोगी कहहि जोगु भल मीठा अवरु न दूजा भाई ॥
ਰੁੰਡਿਤਮੁੰਡਿਤਏਕੈਸਬਦੀਏਇਕਹਹਿਸਿਧਿਪਾਈ੧॥॥
ਸਰੇਵੜੇ ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ ਅਵਧੂਤ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ-ਅਸਾਂ ਹੀ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਲੱਭੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
Those who shave their heads, and those who amputate their limbs, and those who utter only a single word, all say that they have attained the spiritual perfection of the Siddhas. ||1||
रुंडित मुंडित एकै सबदी एइ कहहि सिधि पाई ॥१॥
ਹਰਿਬਿਨੁਭਰਮਿਭੁਲਾਨੇਅੰਧਾ॥
ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਕੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ) ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ;
Without the Lord, the blind ones are deluded by doubt.
हरि बिनु भरमि भुलाने अंधा ॥
ਜਾਪਹਿਜਾਉਆਪੁਛੁਟਕਾਵਨਿਤੇਬਾਧੇਬਹੁਫੰਧਾ੧॥॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਇਹੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਕੋਲ ਹਉਮੈ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਕਰਾਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਈ ਫਾਹੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਬੱਝੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
And those, to whom I go to find release - they themselves are bound by all sorts of chains. ||1||Pause||
जा पहि जाउ आपु छुटकावनि ते बाधे बहु फंधा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
ਜਹਤੇਉਪਜੀਤਹੀਸਮਾਨੀਇਹਬਿਧਿਬਿਸਰੀਤਬਹੀ॥
ਜਿਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਵਿਛੋੜੇ) ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਹਉਮੈ ਉਪਜਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ) ਵਿਚ ਹੀ (ਸਾਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਈ) ਟਿਕੀ ਪਈ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਭੁਲਾਇਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਉਮੈ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਭੁਲਾਈ ਬੈਠੀ ਹੈ), ਇਸੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਤਾਹੀਏਂ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਹਰੇਕ ਭੇਖ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਬਾਹਰਲੇ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਆਦਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਰਸਤਾ ਕਹਿ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ)।
The soul is re-absorbed into that from which it originated, when one leaves this path of errors.
जह ते उपजी तही समानी इह बिधि बिसरी तब ही ॥
ਪੰਡਿਤਗੁਣੀਸੂਰਹਮਦਾਤੇਏਹਿਕਹਹਿਬਡਹਮਹੀ੨॥॥
ਪੰਡਿਤ, ਗੁਣੀ, ਸੂਰਮੇ, ਦਾਤੇ; ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ (ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਵਿੱਛੜ ਕੇ) ਇਹੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥
The scholarly Pandits, the virtuous, the brave and the generous, all assert that they alone are great. ||2||
पंडित गुणी सूर हम दाते एहि कहहि बड हम ही ॥२॥
ਜਿਸਹਿਬੁਝਾਏਸੋਈਬੂਝੈਬਿਨੁਬੂਝੇਕਿਉਰਹੀਐ॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਮੱਤ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ (ਅਸਲ ਗੱਲ) ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਉਸ ਅਸਲ ਗੱਲ ਦੇ) ਸਮਝਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਹੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੈ।
He alone understands, whom the Lord inspires to understand. Without understanding, what can anyone do?
जिसहि बुझाए सोई बूझै बिनु बूझे किउ रहीऐ ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁਮਿਲੈਅੰਧੇਰਾਚੂਕੈਇਨਬਿਧਿਮਾਣਕੁਲਹੀਐ੩॥॥
(ਉਹ ਅਸਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਦਾ) ਹਨੇਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ (ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ-ਰੂਪ) ਲਾਲ ਲੱਭ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
Meeting the True Guru, the darkness is dispelled, and in this way, the jewel is obtained. ||3||
सतिगुरु मिलै अंधेरा चूकै इन बिधि माणकु लहीऐ ॥३॥
ਤਜਿਬਾਵੇਦਾਹਨੇਬਿਕਾਰਾਹਰਿਪਦੁਦ੍ਰਿੜੁਕਰਿਰਹੀਐ॥
ਲਾਂਭ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਫੁਰਨੇ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਦਾ (ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਵਾਲਾ) ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
Give up the evil actions of your left and right hands, and grasp hold of the Feet of the Lord.
तजि बावे दाहने बिकारा हरि पदु द्रिड़ु करि रहीऐ ॥
ਕਹੁਕਬੀਰਗੂੰਗੈਗੁੜੁਖਾਇਆਪੂਛੇਤੇਕਿਆਕਹੀਐ੪੭੫੧॥॥॥॥
ਸੋ, ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- (ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਗੁੰਗੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁੜ ਖਾਧਾ ਹੋਵੇ (ਤਾਂ) ਪੁੱਛਿਆਂ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ) ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸ ਸਕਦਾ (ਤਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਨ ਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ) ॥੪॥੭॥੫੧॥
Says Kabeer, the mute has tasted the molasses, but what can he say about it if he is asked? ||4||7||51||
कहु कबीर गूंगै गुड़ु खाइआ पूछे ते किआ कहीऐ ॥४॥७॥५१॥
