ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹ ਕੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਕੋਸ਼ ਅਰਥ ਵੇਖੋ
ਨਾਰੀਪੁਰਖੁਪਿਆਰੁਹੈਪੁਰਖੁਪਿਆਰਕਰੇਂਦਾਨਾਰੀ।
ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦਾ ('ਪੁਰਖ' ਆਪਣੇ) ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ, ਅਰ ਪਤੀ (ਆਪਣੀ) ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Woman loves man and man also loves his woman (wife).
नारी पुरखु पिआरु है पुरखु पिआर करेंदा नारी ।
ਨਾਰਿਭਤਾਰੁਸੰਜੋਗਮਿਲਿਪੁਤਸੁਪੁਤੁਕੁਪੁਤੁਸੈਂਸਾਰੀ।
ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਭਰਤੇ ਦੇ ਜੋੜੇ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਣ ਨਾਲ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਸਪੁਤ੍ਰ (ਲਾਇਕ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਅਰ) ਕਪੁਤੁ (ਨਲੈਕ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ) ਉਤਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
By the union of husband and wife, in this world sons, worthy and unworthy are born.
नारि भतारु संजोग मिलि पुत सुपुतु कुपुतु सैंसारी ।
ਪੁਰਖਪੁਰਖਾਂਜੋਰਚਨਿਤੇਵਿਰਲੇਨਿਰਮਲਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੀ।
ਉਹ ਨਿਰਮੇਲ ਤੇ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਪਰਾਇਣ ਪੁਰਖ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਪੁਰਖ (ਵਿਆਪਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਯਾ ਗੁਰੂ) ਨਾਲ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਰੂਪ ਜੱਗਯਾਸੂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਰਚਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who remain absorbed in the Lord God, the male of all the males, are rare pure ones.
पुरख पुरखां जो रचनि ते विरले निरमल निरंकारी ।
ਪੁਰਖਹੁਂਪੁਰਖਉਪਜਦਾਗੁਰੁਤੇਚੇਲਾਸਬਦਵੀਚਾਰੀ।
ਪੁਰਖ ਤੋਂ ਪੁਰਖ ਉਤਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਕਿਹੜਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਉਤਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ?) ਗੁਰੂ ਥੋਂ ਚੇਲਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਨਾਲ (ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ) ਹੈ।
From the primeval Lord, the male (the creative principle) is produced in the same way as by reflection, upon the Word, the true disciple of the Guru is created.
पुरखहुं पुरख उपजदा गुरु ते चेला सबद वीचारी ।
ਪਾਰਸਹੋਆਪਾਰਸਹੁਂਗੁਰੁਚੇਲਾਚੇਲਾਗੁਣਕਾਰੀ।
ਪਾਰਸ ਥੋਂ ਪਾਰਸ ਹੋਇਆ (ਅਰਥਾਤ) ਗੁਰੂ ਚੇਲਾ ਤੇ ਚੇਲਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਗੁਣਾ ਦੇ (ਪਰੋਪਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ।
Philosopher's stone produces another philosopher's stone i.e. from Guru emerges disciple and the same disciple eventually becomes a virtuous Guru.
पारस होआ पारसहुं गुरु चेला चेला गुणकारी ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਵੰਸੀਪਰਮਹੰਸਗੁਰਸਿਖਸਾਧਸੇਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ।
ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਸਕੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ 'ਵੰਸ' (ਪੀਹੜੀ) ਚੱਲੀ)। ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਿਖ ਸੰਤ ਤੇ ਪਰੋਪਕਾਰੀ ਹੋਏ।
The gurmukhs belong to the lineage of the super swans i.e. they are most sacred. The Sikhs of Guru are benevolent like sadhus.
गुरमुखि वंसी परम हंस गुरसिख साध से परउपकारी ।
ਗੁਰਭਾਈਗੁਰਭਾਈਆਂਸਾਕਸਚਾਗੁਰਵਾਕਜੁਹਾਰੀ।
ਗੁਰੂ ਭਾਈ ਦਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਭਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇਕ) ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਵਾਕਾਂ ਪੁਰ (ਸਾਰੇ ਜੁਹਾਰਦੇ, ਮੱਥੇ ਪੁਰ ਰਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਾਂ) ਮੱਥੇ ਟੇਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
The Guru's disciple keeps fraternal relationship with fellow disciples and they salute one another with the word of the Guru.
गुरभाई गुरभाईआं साक सचा गुर वाक जुहारी ।
ਪਰਤਨੁਪਰਧਨੁਪਰਹਰੇਪਰਨਿੰਦਾਹਉਮੈਪਰਹਾਰੀ।
ਪਰਾਈ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ, ਪਰਾਇਆ ਧੰਨ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਾਈ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਅਰ ਹਉਮੈਂ (ਭਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ) ਤਿਆਗ ਛੱਡੀ ਹੈ।
They have renounced other's body, other's wealth, slander and ego.
पर तनु पर धनु परहरे पर निंदा हउमै परहारी ।
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਵਿਟਹੁਂਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ੧੮।।
(੯) (ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਤਂੋ ਬਲਿਹਾਰ ਜਾਈਏ, (ਧੰਨ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਿਖ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਉਕਤ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਪਰ ਚਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
I am sacrifice unto such holy congregation (which brings about such transformation).
