ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹ ਕੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਕੋਸ਼ ਅਰਥ ਵੇਖੋ
ਦੇਹਿਅਸੀਸਸਭੈਸੁਰਨਾਰਿਸੁਧਾਰਿਕੈਆਰਤੀਦੀਪਜਗਾਇਓ॥
ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇਵ-ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ (ਚੰਡੀ ਨੂੰ) ਅਸੀਸਾਂ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਤੀ ਸਿਰਜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਦੀਪਕ ਜਗਾਏ ਹਨ।
All the women of the gods bless the goddess and performing the aarti (the religious ceremony performed around the image of the deity) they have lighted the lamps.
देहि असीस सभै सुर नारि सुधारि कै आरती दीप जगाइओ ॥
ਫੂਲਸੁਗੰਧਸੁਅਛਤਦਛਨਜਛਨਜੀਤਕੋਗੀਤਸੁਗਾਇਓ॥
ਫੁਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਗੰਧੀ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਵਲ ਵਾਰਦੀਆਂ ('ਦੱਛਨ') ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਯਕਸ਼-ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ('ਜੱਛਨ') ਜਿਤ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
They offer flowers, fragrance and rice and the women of Yakshas sing songs of victory.
फूल सुगंध सुअछत दछन जछन जीत को गीत सु गाइओ ॥
ਧੂਪਜਗਾਇਕੈਸੰਖਬਜਾਇਕੈਸੀਸਨਿਵਾਇਕੈਬੈਨਸੁਨਾਇਓ॥
ਧੂਪ ਜਗਾ ਕੇ, ਸੰਖ ਵਜਾ ਕੇ, ਸਿਰ ਝੁਕਾ ਕੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ
They burn the incence and blow the conch and supplicate bowing their heads.
धूप जगाइ कै संख बजाइ कै सीस निवाइ कै बैन सुनाइओ ॥
ਹੇਜਗਮਾਇਸਦਾਸੁਖਦਾਇਤੈਸੁੰਭਕੋਘਾਇਬਡੋਜਸੁਪਾਇਓ੨੨੮॥॥
ਕਿ ਹੇ ਜਗਤਮਾਤਾ! ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈਂ। ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ੁੰਭ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਯਸ਼ ਖਟਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨੨੮॥
“O Universal mother, ever Giver of the comfort, by killing Sumbh, Thou hast earned a great approhbation.”228.
हे जग माइ सदा सुख दाइ तै सुंभ को घाइ बडो जसु पाइओ ॥२२८॥
ਸਕ੍ਰਹਿਸਾਜਿਸਮਾਜਦੈਚੰਡਸੁਮੋਦਮਹਾਮਨਮਾਹਿਰਈਹੈ॥
ਇੰਦਰ ('ਸਕ੍ਰ') ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਚੰਡੀ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।

सक्रहि साजि समाज दै चंड सु मोद महा मन माहि रई है ॥
ਸੂਰਸਸੀਨਭਿਥਾਪਕੈਤੇਜੁਦੇਆਪਤਹਾਤੇਸੁਲੋਪਭਈਹੈ॥
ਸੂਰਜ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਜ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਚੰਡੀ) ਆਪ ਉਥੋਂ ਲੋਪ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
Sabilising the sun and moon in the sky and making them glorious, she herself hath disappeared.
सूर ससी नभि थाप कै तेजु दे आप तहा ते सु लोप भई है ॥
ਬੀਚਅਕਾਸਪ੍ਰਕਾਸਬਢਿਓਤਿਹਕੀਉਪਮਾਮਨਤੇਨਗਈਹੈ॥
ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ (ਸੂਰਜ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਦਾ) ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਵਧ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ (ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼) ਦੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਵੀ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਭੁਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
The light of sun and moon hath increased in the sky, the powt hath not forgotten its comparison from his mind.
बीच अकास प्रकास बढिओ तिह की उपमा मन ते न गई है ॥
ਧੂਰਿਕੈਪੂਰਮਲੀਨਹੁਤੋਰਵਿਮਾਨਹੁਚੰਡਿਕਾਓਪਦਈਹੈ੨੨੯॥॥
(ਲੜਾਈ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਠੀ) ਧੂੜ ਦੇ ਪਸਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੂਰਜ ('ਰਵਿ') ਮਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਮਾਨੋ ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਤੇਜ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਚਮਕਦਾਰ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ) ॥੨੨੯॥
It seemed that the sun had become filthy with dust and the goddess Chandi hath given him the splendour.229.
धूरि कै पूर मलीन हुतो रवि मानहु चंडिका ओप दई है ॥२२९॥
