गूजरी महला ५ ॥
ਗੂਜਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹ ਕੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਕੋਸ਼ ਅਰਥ ਵੇਖੋ
ਹਰਿਧਨੁਜਾਪਹਰਿਧਨੁਤਾਪਹਰਿਧਨੁਭੋਜਨੁਭਾਇਆ॥
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਹੀ (ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਦੇਵ-ਪੂਜਾ ਲਈ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਮੰਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦਾ) ਜਾਪ ਹੈ, ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਧਨ ਹੀ (ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਧੂਣੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਤਪਾਣਾ ਹੈ; ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਹੀ (ਮੇਰੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਲਈ) ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਇਹ ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੈ।
The wealth of the Lord is my chanting, the wealth of the Lord is my deep meditation; the wealth of the Lord is the food I enjoy.
हरि धनु जाप हरि धनु ताप हरि धनु भोजनु भाइआ ॥
ਨਿਮਖਨਬਿਸਰਉਮਨਤੇਹਰਿਹਰਿਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਮਹਿਪਾਇਆ੧॥॥
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁਲਾਂਦਾ, ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਧਨ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਲੱਭਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
I do not forget the Lord, Har, Har, from my mind, even for an instant; I have found Him in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||
निमख न बिसरउ मन ते हरि हरि साधसंगति महि पाइआ ॥१॥
ਮਾਈਖਾਟਿਆਇਓਘਰਿਪੂਤਾ॥
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! (ਕਿਸੇ ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਹ) ਪੁੱਤਰ ਖੱਟ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਆਇਆ ਸਮਝ,
O mother, your son has returned home with a profit:
माई खाटि आइओ घरि पूता ॥
ਹਰਿਧਨੁਚਲਤੇਹਰਿਧਨੁਬੈਸੇਹਰਿਧਨੁਜਾਗਤਸੂਤਾ੧॥॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਤੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਬੈਠਿਆਂ ਜਾਗਦਿਆਂ ਸੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
the wealth of the Lord while walking, the wealth of the Lord while sitting, and the wealth of the Lord while waking and sleeping. ||1||Pause||
हरि धनु चलते हरि धनु बैसे हरि धनु जागत सूता ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
ਹਰਿਧਨੁਇਸਨਾਨੁਹਰਿਧਨੁਗਿਆਨੁਹਰਿਸੰਗਿਲਾਇਧਿਆਨਾ॥
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਤੀਰਥ-ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਹੈ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਆਦਿਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ (ਇਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਲਾਣੀ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ।)
The wealth of the Lord is my cleansing bath, the wealth of the Lord is my wisdom; I center my meditation on the Lord.
हरि धनु इसनानु हरि धनु गिआनु हरि संगि लाइ धिआना ॥
ਹਰਿਧਨੁਤੁਲਹਾਹਰਿਧਨੁਬੇੜੀਹਰਿਹਰਿਤਾਰਿਪਰਾਨਾ੨॥॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਨਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣ ਲਈ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਲਹਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਬੇੜੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਤਾਰ ਕੇ ਪਾਰਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਅਪੜਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
The wealth of the Lord is my raft, the wealth of the Lord is my boat; the Lord, Har, Har, is the ship to carry me across. ||2||
हरि धनु तुलहा हरि धनु बेड़ी हरि हरि तारि पराना ॥२॥
ਹਰਿਧਨਮੇਰੀਚਿੰਤਵਿਸਾਰੀਹਰਿਧਨਿਲਾਹਿਆਧੋਖਾ॥
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Through the wealth of the Lord, I have forgotten my anxiety; through the wealth of the Lord, my doubt has been dispelled.
हरि धन मेरी चिंत विसारी हरि धनि लाहिआ धोखा ॥
ਹਰਿਧਨਤੇਮੈਨਵਨਿਧਿਪਾਈਹਾਥਿਚਰਿਓਹਰਿਥੋਕਾ੩॥॥
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਤੋਂ (ਮੈਂ ਇਉਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਨੌ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਹਨ, (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਇਹ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
From the wealth of the Lord, I have obtained the nine treasures; the true essence of the Lord has come into my hands. ||3||
हरि धन ते मै नव निधि पाई हाथि चरिओ हरि थोका ॥३॥
ਖਾਵਹੁਖਰਚਹੁਤੋਟਿਨਆਵੈਹਲਤਪਲਤਕੈਸੰਗੇ॥
(ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਧਨ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ) ਇਹ ਧਨ ਆਪ ਵਰਤੋ, ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਵਰਤਾਵੋ; ਇਹ ਧਨ ਕਦੇ ਘਟਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ; ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
No matter how much I eat and expend this wealth, it is not exhausted; here and hereafter, it remains with me.
खावहु खरचहु तोटि न आवै हलत पलत कै संगे ॥
ਲਾਦਿਖਜਾਨਾਗੁਰਿਨਾਨਕਕਉਦੀਆਇਹੁਮਨੁਹਰਿਰੰਗਿਰੰਗੇ੪੨੩॥॥॥॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਦਾ (ਇਹ) ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਲੱਦ ਕੇ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ (ਅਤੇ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗ ਲਵੋ ॥੪॥੨॥੩॥
Loading the treasure, Guru Nanak has given it, and this mind is imbued with the Lord's Love. ||4||2||3||
लादि खजाना गुरि नानक कउ दीआ इहु मनु हरि रंगि रंगे ॥४॥२॥३॥
