ਕਾਨੜਾਮਹਲਾ੪॥
Kaanraa, Fourth Mahalaa:
कानड़ा महला ४ ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਚਾਟਉਪਗਚਾਟ॥
ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਚੁੰਮਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
I eagerly kiss the Feet of the True Guru.
सतिगुर चाटउ पग चाट ॥
ਜਿਤੁਮਿਲਿਹਰਿਪਾਧਰਬਾਟ॥
ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਰਾਹ ਲੱਭ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Meeting Him, the Path to the Lord becomes smooth and easy.
जितु मिलि हरि पाधर बाट ॥
ਭਜੁਹਰਿਰਸੁਰਸਹਰਿਗਾਟ॥
(ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਗਟ ਗਟ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪੀਆ ਕਰ।
I lovingly vibrate and meditate on the Lord, and gulp down His Sublime Essence.
भजु हरि रसु रस हरि गाट ॥
ਹਰਿਹੋਹੋਲਿਖੇਲਿਲਾਟ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੇਰੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਦੇ ਲੇਖ ਉੱਘੜ ਪੈਣਗੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
The Lord has written this destiny on my forehead. ||1||Pause||
हरि हो हो लिखे लिलाट ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
ਖਟਕਰਮਕਿਰਿਆਕਰਿਬਹੁਬਹੁਬਿਸਥਾਰਸਿਧਸਾਧਿਕਜੋਗੀਆਕਰਿਜਟਜਟਾਜਟਜਾਟ॥
(ਪੰਡਿਤਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ) ਛੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਿਆ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ) ਹੋਰ ਬਥੇਰੇ ਖਿਲਾਰੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਸਿੱਧਾਂ ਜੋਗੀਆਂ ਸਾਧਿਕਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਜਟਾਂ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ,
Some perform the six rituals and rites; the Siddhas, seekers and Yogis put on all sorts of pompous shows, with their hair all tangled and matted.
खट करम किरिआ करि बहु बहु बिसथार सिध साधिक जोगीआ करि जट जटा जट जाट ॥
ਕਰਿਭੇਖਨਪਾਈਐਹਰਿਬ੍ਰਹਮਜੋਗੁਹਰਿਪਾਈਐਸਤਸੰਗਤੀਉਪਦੇਸਿਗੁਰੂਗੁਰਸੰਤਜਨਾਖੋਲਿਖੋਲਿਕਪਾਟ॥੧॥
ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਪਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕੀਦਾ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ। (ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਕਵਾੜ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ॥੧॥
Yoga - Union with the Lord God - is not obtained by wearing religious robes; the Lord is found in the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, and the Guru's Teachings. The humble Saints throw the doors wide open. ||1||
करि भेख न पाईऐ हरि ब्रहम जोगु हरि पाईऐ सतसंगती उपदेसि गुरू गुर संत जना खोलि खोलि कपाट ॥१॥
ਤੂਅਪਰੰਪਰੁਸੁਆਮੀਅਤਿਅਗਾਹੁਤੂਭਰਪੁਰਿਰਹਿਆਜਲਥਲੇਹਰਿਇਕੁਇਕੋਇਕਏਕੈਹਰਿਥਾਟ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਤੂੰ ਪਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਥਾਹ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈਂ। ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਜਗਤ-ਉਤਪੱਤੀ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
O my Lord and Master, You are the farthest of the far, utterly unfathomable. You are totally pervading the water and the land. You alone are the One and Only Unique Lord of all creation.
तू अपरंपरु सुआमी अति अगाहु तू भरपुरि रहिआ जल थले हरि इकु इको इक एकै हरि थाट ॥
ਤੂਜਾਣਹਿਸਭਬਿਧਿਬੂਝਹਿਆਪੇਜਨਨਾਨਕਕੇਪ੍ਰਭਘਟਿਘਟੇਘਟਿਘਟੇਘਟਿਹਰਿਘਾਟ॥੨॥੪॥੧੦॥
(ਇਸ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਬਾਰੇ) ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਢੰਗ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥੪॥੧੦॥
You alone know all Your ways and means. You alone understand Yourself. Servant Nanak's Lord God is in each heart, in every heart, in the home of each and every heart. ||2||4||10||
तू जाणहि सभ बिधि बूझहि आपे जन नानक के प्रभ घटि घटे घटि घटे घटि हरि घाट ॥२॥४॥१०॥
