ਗਉੜੀਗੁਆਰੇਰੀਮਹਲਾ੪॥
Gauree Gwaarayree, Fourth Mahalaa:
गउड़ी गुआरेरी महला ४ ॥
ਨਿਰਗੁਣਕਥਾਕਥਾਹੈਹਰਿਕੀ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਾਂਹ ਹਨ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਉੱਚੇ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ)।
The Speech of the Lord is the most sublime speech, free of any attributes.
निरगुण कथा कथा है हरि की ॥
ਭਜੁਮਿਲਿਸਾਧੂਸੰਗਤਿਜਨਕੀ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਭਜਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ।
Vibrate on it, meditate on it, and join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
भजु मिलि साधू संगति जन की ॥
ਤਰੁਭਉਜਲੁਅਕਥਕਥਾਸੁਨਿਹਰਿਕੀ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਰ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਦੱਸੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ (ਤੇ, ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ॥੧॥
Cross over the terrifying world-ocean, listening to the Unspoken Speech of the Lord. ||1||
तरु भउजलु अकथ कथा सुनि हरि की ॥१॥
ਗੋਬਿੰਦਸਤਿਸੰਗਤਿਮੇਲਾਇ॥
ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼,
O Lord of the Universe, unite me with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation.
गोबिंद सतिसंगति मेलाइ ॥
ਹਰਿਰਸੁਰਸਨਾਰਾਮਗੁਨਗਾਇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਤਾਂ ਜੁ ਮੇਰੀ) ਜੀਭ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ (ਲੈ ਕੇ) ਹਰਿ-ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੀ ਰਹੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
My tongue savors the sublime essence of the Lord, singing the Lord's Glorious Praises. ||1||Pause||
हरि रसु रसना राम गुन गाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
ਜੋਜਨਧਿਆਵਹਿਹਰਿਹਰਿਨਾਮਾ॥
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਰਾਮ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Those humble beings who meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har
जो जन धिआवहि हरि हरि नामा ॥
ਤਿਨਦਾਸਨਿਦਾਸਕਰਹੁਹਮਰਾਮਾ॥
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣਾ।
please make me the slave of their slaves, Lord.
तिन दासनि दास करहु हम रामा ॥
ਜਨਕੀਸੇਵਾਊਤਮਕਾਮਾ॥੨॥
(ਤੇਰੇ) ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ (ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ) ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
Serving Your slaves is the ultimate good deed. ||2||
जन की सेवा ऊतम कामा ॥२॥
ਜੋਹਰਿਕੀਹਰਿਕਥਾਸੁਣਾਵੈ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ) ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
One who chants the Speech of the Lord
जो हरि की हरि कथा सुणावै ॥
ਸੋਜਨੁਹਮਰੈਮਨਿਚਿਤਿਭਾਵੈ॥
ਉਹ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
that humble servant is pleasing to my conscious mind.
सो जनु हमरै मनि चिति भावै ॥
ਜਨਪਗਰੇਣੁਵਡਭਾਗੀਪਾਵੈ॥੩॥
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਭਗਤ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਕ ਕੋਈ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਹੀ) ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
Those who are blessed with great good fortune obtain the dust of the feet of the humble. ||3||
जन पग रेणु वडभागी पावै ॥३॥
ਸੰਤਜਨਾਸਿਉਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਬਨਿਆਈ॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ) ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨਿਭਦੀ ਹੈ,
Those who are blessed with such pre-ordained destiny
संत जना सिउ प्रीति बनि आई ॥
ਜਿਨਕਉਲਿਖਤੁਲਿਖਿਆਧੁਰਿਪਾਈ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਧੁਰੋਂ (ਆਪਣੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਦਾ) ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ।
are in love with the humble Saints.
जिन कउ लिखतु लिखिआ धुरि पाई ॥
ਤੇਜਨਨਾਨਕਨਾਮਿਸਮਾਈ॥੪॥੨॥੪੦॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ (ਸਦਾ ਲਈ) ਲੀਨਤਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੨॥੪੦॥
Those humble beings, O Nanak, are absorbed in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||2||40||
ते जन नानक नामि समाई ॥४॥२॥४०॥
