ਗੋਬਿੰਦਹਮਐਸੇਅਪਰਾਧੀ॥
ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ਹਾਂ,
O Lord of the Universe, I am such a sinner!
ਜਿਨਿਪ੍ਰਭਿਜੀਉਪਿੰਡੁਥਾਦੀਆਤਿਸਕੀਭਾਉਭਗਤਿਨਹੀਸਾਧੀ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਤੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਜਿੰਦ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
God gave me body and soul, but I have not practiced loving devotional worship to Him. ||1||Pause||
ਪਰਧਨਪਰਤਨਪਰਤੀਨਿੰਦਾਪਰਅਪਬਾਦੁਨਛੂਟੈ॥
(ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ!) ਪਰਾਏ ਧਨ (ਦੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ), ਪਰਾਈ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ (ਦੀ ਕਾਮਨਾ), ਪਰਾਈ ਚੁਗ਼ਲੀ, ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਰੋਧ-ਇਹ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ।
Others' wealth, others' bodies, others' wives, others' slander and others' fights - I have not given them up.
ਆਵਾਗਵਨੁਹੋਤੁਹੈਫੁਨਿਫੁਨਿਇਹੁਪਰਸੰਗੁਨਤੂਟੈ॥੨॥
ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ (ਸਾਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ-ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਪਰ ਮਨ, ਪਰ ਤਨ ਆਦਿਕ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਲੰਮਾ ਝੇੜਾ ਮੁੱਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੨॥
For the sake of these, coming and going in reincarnation happens over and over again, and this story never ends. ||2||
ਜਿਹਘਰਿਕਥਾਹੋਤਹਰਿਸੰਤਨਇਕਨਿਮਖਨਕੀਨੑੋਮੈਫੇਰਾ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹੀਂ ਥਾਈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਰਲ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉੱਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਕ ਪਲਕ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਫੇਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਾਰਦਾ।
That house, in which the Saints speak of the Lord - I have not visited it, even for an instant.
ਲੰਪਟਚੋਰਦੂਤਮਤਵਾਰੇਤਿਨਸੰਗਿਸਦਾਬਸੇਰਾ॥੩॥
ਪਰ ਵਿਸ਼ਈ, ਚੋਰ, ਬਦਮਾਸ਼, ਸ਼ਰਾਬੀ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਥ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
Drunkards, thieves, and evil-doers - I constantly dwell with them. ||3||
ਕਾਮਕ੍ਰੋਧਮਾਇਆਮਦਮਤਸਰਏਸੰਪੈਮੋਮਾਹੀ॥
ਕਾਮ, ਕ੍ਰੋਧ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ, ਹੰਕਾਰ, ਈਰਖਾ-ਮੇਰੇ ਪੱਲੇ, ਬੱਸ! ਇਹੀ ਧਨ ਹੈ।
Sexual desire, anger, the wine of Maya, and envy - these are what I collect within myself.
ਦਇਆਧਰਮੁਅਰੁਗੁਰਕੀਸੇਵਾਏਸੁਪਨੰਤਰਿਨਾਹੀ॥੪॥
ਦਇਆ, ਧਰਮ, ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਕਦੇ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ ॥੪॥
Compassion, righteousness, and service to the Guru - these do not visit me, even in my dreams. ||4||
ਦੀਨਦਇਆਲਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਦਮੋਦਰਭਗਤਿਬਛਲਭੈਹਾਰੀ॥
ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ! ਹੇ ਦਮੋਦਰ! ਹੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹੇ ਭੈ-ਹਰਨ!
He is merciful to the meek, compassionate and benevolent, the Lover of His devotees, the Destroyer of fear.
ਕਹਤਕਬੀਰਭੀਰਜਨਰਾਖਹੁਹਰਿਸੇਵਾਕਰਉਤੁਮੑਾਰੀ॥੫॥੮॥
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਬਿਪਤਾ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲੈ, ਮੈਂ (ਨਿੱਤ) ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਕਰਾਂ ॥੫॥੮॥
Says Kabeer, please protect Your humble servant from disaster; O Lord, I serve only You. ||5||8||
ਜਿਹਸਿਮਰਨਿਹੋਇਮੁਕਤਿਦੁਆਰੁ॥
ਜਿਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਦਰ ਦਿੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Remembering Him in meditation, the door of liberation is found.
ਜਾਹਿਬੈਕੁੰਠਿਨਹੀਸੰਸਾਰਿ॥
(ਉਸ ਰਸਤੇ) ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਅੱਪੜੇਂਗਾ, ਸੰਸਾਰ (-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ) ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ (ਭਟਕੇਂਗਾ)।
You shall go to heaven, and not return to this earth.
ਨਿਰਭਉਕੈਘਰਿਬਜਾਵਹਿਤੂਰ॥
ਜਿਸ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੋਂਹਦਾ, ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ (ਆਤਮਕ ਅਨੰਦ ਦੇ, ਮਾਨੋ) ਵਾਜੇ ਵਜਾਏਂਗਾ,
In the home of the Fearless Lord, the celestial trumpets resound.
ਅਨਹਦਬਜਹਿਸਦਾਭਰਪੂਰ॥੧॥
ਉਹ ਵਾਜੇ (ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਸਦਾ ਇੱਕ-ਰਸ ਵੱਜਣਗੇ, (ਉਸ ਅਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ) ਕੋਈ ਊਣਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਵੇਗੀ ॥੧॥
The unstruck sound current will vibrate and resonate forever. ||1||
ਐਸਾਸਿਮਰਨੁਕਰਿਮਨਮਾਹਿ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਅਜਿਹਾ (ਬਲ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ।
Practice such meditative remembrance in your mind.
ਬਿਨੁਸਿਮਰਨਮੁਕਤਿਕਤਨਾਹਿ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਹੋਰ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ) ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Without this meditative remembrance, liberation will never be found. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਹਸਿਮਰਨਿਨਾਹੀਨਨਕਾਰੁ॥
ਜਿਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ (ਵਿਕਾਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਰਾਹ ਵਿਚ) ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਣਗੇ,
Remembering Him in meditation, you will meet with no obstruction.
ਮੁਕਤਿਕਰੈਉਤਰੈਬਹੁਭਾਰੁ॥
ਉਹ ਸਿਮਰਨ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਅਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ) ਬੋਝ (ਮਨ ਤੋਂ) ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
You will be liberated, and the great load will be taken away.
ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁਕਰਿਹਿਰਦੈਮਾਹਿ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾ,
Bow in humility within your heart,
ਫਿਰਿਫਿਰਿਤੇਰਾਆਵਨੁਨਾਹਿ॥੨॥
ਤਾਂ ਜੁ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਤੈਨੂੰ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਆਉਣਾ ਨਾਹ ਪਏ ॥੨॥
and you will not have to be reincarnated over and over again. ||2||
ਜਿਹਸਿਮਰਨਿਕਰਹਿਤੂਕੇਲ॥
ਜਿਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤੂੰ ਅਨੰਦ ਲੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ (ਭਾਵ, ਚਿੰਤਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ),
Remember Him in meditation, celebrate and be happy.
ਦੀਪਕੁਬਾਂਧਿਧਰਿਓਬਿਨੁਤੇਲ॥
ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਦਾ (ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ) ਦੀਵਾ ਜਗਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਤੇਲ (ਵਾਲਾ ਦੀਵਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ,
God has placed His lamp deep within you, which burns without any oil.
ਸੋਦੀਪਕੁਅਮਰਕੁਸੰਸਾਰਿ॥
ਉਹ ਦੀਵਾ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਗ ਪਏ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਅਮਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
That lamp makes the world immortal;
ਕਾਮਕ੍ਰੋਧਬਿਖੁਕਾਢੀਲੇਮਾਰਿ॥੩॥
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ (ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਕੱਢ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
it conquers and drives out the poisons of sexual desire and anger. ||3||
ਜਿਹਸਿਮਰਨਿਤੇਰੀਗਤਿਹੋਇ॥
ਜਿਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ,
Remembering Him in meditation, you shall obtain salvation.
ਸੋਸਿਮਰਨੁਰਖੁਕੰਠਿਪਰੋਇ॥
ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ (ਰੂਪ ਹਾਰ) ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੋ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖ।
Wear that meditative remembrance as your necklace.
ਸੋਸਿਮਰਨੁਕਰਿਨਹੀਰਾਖੁਉਤਾਰਿ॥
(ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਗਲੋਂ) ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਨਾਹ ਰੱਖੀਂ, ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ।
Practice that meditative remembrance, and never let it go.
ਗੁਰਪਰਸਾਦੀਉਤਰਹਿਪਾਰਿ॥੪॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਏਂਗਾ ॥੪॥
By Guru's Grace, you shall cross over. ||4||
ਜਿਹਸਿਮਰਨਿਨਾਹੀਤੁਹਿਕਾਨਿ॥
ਜਿਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ।
Remembering Him in meditation, you shall not be obligated to others.
ਮੰਦਰਿਸੋਵਹਿਪਟੰਬਰਤਾਨਿ॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਬੇ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੌਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
You shall sleep in your mansion, in blankets of silk.
ਸੇਜਸੁਖਾਲੀਬਿਗਸੈਜੀਉ॥
ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖ ਹੈ, ਜਿੰਦ ਖਿੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
Your soul shall blossom forth in happiness, on this comfortable bed.
ਸੋਸਿਮਰਨੁਤੂਅਨਦਿਨੁਪੀਉ॥੫॥
ਐਸਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ-ਰੂਪ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਰਹੁ ॥੫॥
So drink in this meditative remembrance, night and day. ||5||
ਜਿਹਸਿਮਰਨਿਤੇਰੀਜਾਇਬਲਾਇ॥
ਜਿਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਰੋਗ ਕੱਟਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Remembering Him in meditation, your troubles will depart.
ਜਿਹਸਿਮਰਨਿਤੁਝੁਪੋਹੈਨਮਾਇ॥
ਜਿਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੋਂਹਦੀ,
Remembering Him in meditation, Maya will not bother you.
ਸਿਮਰਿਸਿਮਰਿਹਰਿਹਰਿਮਨਿਗਾਈਐ॥
ਸਦਾ ਇਹ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ, ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰ।
Meditate, meditate in remembrance on the Lord, Har, Har, and sing His Praises in your mind.
ਇਹੁਸਿਮਰਨੁਸਤਿਗੁਰਤੇਪਾਈਐ॥੬॥
(ਪਰ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪਉ), ਇਹ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
This meditative remembrance is obtained from the True Guru. ||6||
ਸਦਾਸਦਾਸਿਮਰਿਦਿਨੁਰਾਤਿ॥
ਸਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ।
Forever and ever, remember Him, day and night,
ਊਠਤਬੈਠਤਸਾਸਿਗਿਰਾਸਿ॥
ਉੱਠਦਿਆਂ ਬੈਠਦਿਆਂ, ਖਾਂਦਿਆਂ, ਸਾਹ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ-
while standing up and sitting down, with every breath and morsel of food.
ਜਾਗੁਸੋਇਸਿਮਰਨਰਸਭੋਗ॥
ਜਾਗਦਿਆਂ, ਸੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਲੈ।
While awake and asleep, enjoy the essence of this meditative remembrance.
ਹਰਿਸਿਮਰਨੁਪਾਈਐਸੰਜੋਗ॥੭॥
(ਪਰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
The Lord's meditative remembrance is obtained by good destiny. ||7||
ਜਿਹਸਿਮਰਨਿਨਾਹੀਤੁਝੁਭਾਰ॥
ਜਿਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੋਂ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ) ਬੋਝ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਇਗਾ,
Remembering Him in meditation, you shall not be loaded down.
ਸੋਸਿਮਰਨੁਰਾਮਨਾਮਅਧਾਰੁ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ) ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣਾ।
Make this meditative remembrance of the Lord's Name your Support.
ਕਹਿਕਬੀਰਜਾਕਾਨਹੀਅੰਤੁ॥
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ,
Says Kabeer, He has no limits;
ਤਿਸਕੇਆਗੇਤੰਤੁਨਮੰਤੁ॥੮॥੯॥
(ਉਸ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਮੰਤਰ, ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਟੂਣਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੱਲ ਸਕਦਾ (ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ) ॥੮॥੯॥
no tantras or mantras can be used against Him. ||8||9||
ਰਾਮਕਲੀਘਰੁ੨ਬਾਣੀਕਬੀਰਜੀਕੀ॥
ਰਾਗ ਰਾਮਕਲੀ, ਘਰ ੨ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਗਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ।

ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਬੰਧਚਿਬੰਧਨੁਪਾਇਆ॥
(ਮਾਇਆ ਤੋਂ) ਮੁਕਤ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ,
Maya, the Trapper, has sprung her trap.
ਮੁਕਤੈਗੁਰਿਅਨਲੁਬੁਝਾਇਆ॥
ਮੇਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਬੁਝਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
The Guru, the Liberated One, has put out the fire.
