ਸੋਬੂਝੈਜਿਸੁਆਪਿਬੁਝਾਏਗੁਰਕੈਸਬਦਿਸੁਮੁਕਤੁਭਇਆ॥
(ਇਹ ਭੇਤ) ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਨ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਹਉਮੈ ਤੋਂ) ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He alone understands, whom the Lord inspires to understand. Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, one is liberated.
ਨਾਨਕਤਾਰੇਤਾਰਣਹਾਰਾਹਉਮੈਦੂਜਾਪਰਹਰਿਆ॥੨੫॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ-ਭਾਵ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਰਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤਾਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੫॥
O Nanak, the Emancipator emancipates one who drives out egotism and duality. ||25||
ਮਨਮੁਖਿਭੂਲੈਜਮਕੀਕਾਣਿ॥
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ (ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਰਸਤਾ) ਖੁੰਝ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜਮ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
The self-willed manmukhs are deluded, under the shadow of death.
ਪਰਘਰੁਜੋਹੈਹਾਣੇਹਾਣਿ॥
ਪਰਾਇਆ ਘਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਇਸ ਕੁਕਰਮ ਵਿਚ) ਘਾਟਾ ਹੀ ਘਾਟਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
They look into the homes of others, and lose.
ਮਨਮੁਖਿਭਰਮਿਭਵੈਬੇਬਾਣਿ॥
ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਨਮੁਖ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
The manmukhs are confused by doubt, wandering in the wilderness.
ਵੇਮਾਰਗਿਮੂਸੈਮੰਤ੍ਰਿਮਸਾਣਿ॥
ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪੈ ਕੇ (ਇਉਂ) ਠੱਗਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਸਾਣ ਵਿਚ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਭੈੜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ)।
Having lost their way, they are plundered; they chant their mantras at cremation grounds.
ਸਬਦੁਨਚੀਨੈਲਵੈਕੁਬਾਣਿ॥
(ਮਨਮੁਖ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ), ਤੇ ਦੁਰਬਚਨ ਹੀ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
They do not think of the Shabad; instead, they utter obscenities.
ਨਾਨਕਸਾਚਿਰਤੇਸੁਖੁਜਾਣਿ॥੨੬॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੁਖ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਮਿਲਿਆ) ਜਾਣੋ ਜੋ ਸੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੨੬॥
O Nanak, those who are attuned to the Truth know peace. ||26||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਾਚੇਕਾਭਉਪਾਵੈ॥
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
The Gurmukh lives in the Fear of God, the True Lord.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਬਾਣੀਅਘੜੁਘੜਾਵੈ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅਮੋੜ-ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਚੱਜਾ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Through the Word of the Guru's Bani, the Gurmukh refines the unrefined.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਨਿਰਮਲਹਰਿਗੁਣਗਾਵੈ॥
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
The Gurmukh sings the immaculate, Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪਵਿਤ੍ਰੁਪਰਮਪਦੁਪਾਵੈ॥
(ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh attains the supreme, sanctified status.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਰੋਮਿਰੋਮਿਹਰਿਧਿਆਵੈ॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤਨੋਂ ਮਨੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
The Gurmukh meditates on the Lord with every hair of his body.
ਨਾਨਕਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਾਚਿਸਮਾਵੈ॥੨੭॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਬੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ) ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੭॥
O Nanak, the Gurmukh merges in Truth. ||27||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪਰਚੈਬੇਦਬੀਚਾਰੀ॥
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰਨ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਵੇਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਤਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੀ)।
The Gurmukh is pleasing to the True Guru; this is contemplation on the Vedas.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪਰਚੈਤਰੀਐਤਾਰੀ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣਾਇਆਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਤਰ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ,
Pleasing the True Guru, the Gurmukh is carried across.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪਰਚੈਸੁਸਬਦਿਗਿਆਨੀ॥
ਗੁਰ-ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ,
Pleasing the True Guru, the Gurmukh receives the spiritual wisdom of the Shabad.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪਰਚੈਅੰਤਰਬਿਧਿਜਾਨੀ॥
ਤੇ ਗੁਰ-ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅੰਦਰਲੇ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Pleasing the True Guru, the Gurmukh comes to know the path within.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪਾਈਐਅਲਖਅਪਾਰੁ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਤੇ ਬੇ-ਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ;
The Gurmukh attains the unseen and infinite Lord.
ਨਾਨਕਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਮੁਕਤਿਦੁਆਰੁ॥੨੮॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ (ਹਉਮੈ ਤੋਂ) ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੮॥
O Nanak, the Gurmukh finds the door of liberation. ||28||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਅਕਥੁਕਥੈਬੀਚਾਰਿ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ) ਵੀਚਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਸਰੂਪ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ,
The Gurmukh speaks the unspoken wisdom.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਨਿਬਹੈਸਪਰਵਾਰਿ॥
(ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਘਰਬਾਰੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੀ (ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਵਿਚ) ਪੁੱਗ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
In the midst of his family, the Gurmukh lives a spiritual life.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਜਪੀਐਅੰਤਰਿਪਿਆਰਿ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਹੀ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਜਪ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ,
The Gurmukh lovingly meditates deep within.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪਾਈਐਸਬਦਿਅਚਾਰਿ॥
ਤੇ ਗੁਰਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਆਚਰਣ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh obtains the Shabad, and righteous conduct.
ਸਬਦਿਭੇਦਿਜਾਣੈਜਾਣਾਈ॥
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ (ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ) ਪ੍ਰੋ ਕੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ) ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He knows the mystery of the Shabad, and inspires others to know it.
ਨਾਨਕਹਉਮੈਜਾਲਿਸਮਾਈ॥੨੯॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰਮੁਖ (ਆਪਣੀ) ਹਉਮੈ (ਖ਼ੁਦ-ਗ਼ਰਜ਼ੀ) ਸਾੜ ਕੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ) ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੯॥
O Nanak, burning away his ego, he merges in the Lord. ||29||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਧਰਤੀਸਾਚੈਸਾਜੀ॥
ਸੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ) ਵਾਸਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ;
The True Lord fashioned the earth for the sake of the Gurmukhs.
ਤਿਸਮਹਿਓਪਤਿਖਪਤਿਸੁਬਾਜੀ॥
ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਉਤਪੱਤੀ ਤੇ ਨਾਸ (ਗੁਰਮੁਖਤਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ) ਇਕ ਖੇਡ ਹੈ;
There, he set in motion the play of creation and destruction.
ਗੁਰਕੈਸਬਦਿਰਪੈਰੰਗੁਲਾਇ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ) ਰੰਗਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
One who is filled with the Word of the Guru's Shabad enshrines love for the Lord.
ਸਾਚਿਰਤਉਪਤਿਸਿਉਘਰਿਜਾਇ॥
ਤਾਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ (ਗੁਰਮੁਖ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਅੱਪੜਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਘੜਨ ਭੱਜਣ ਦੀ ਖੇਡ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ)।
Attuned to the Truth, he goes to his home with honor.
ਸਾਚਸਬਦਬਿਨੁਪਤਿਨਹੀਪਾਵੈ॥
ਸੱਚੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਜ਼ਤ ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ।
Without the True Word of the Shabad, no one receives honor.
ਨਾਨਕਬਿਨੁਨਾਵੈਕਿਉਸਾਚਿਸਮਾਵੈ॥੩੦॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਸਮਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? (ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਾ ਸਕਦਾ) ॥੩੦॥
O Nanak, without the Name, how can one be absorbed in Truth? ||30||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਅਸਟਸਿਧੀਸਭਿਬੁਧੀ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਤੁਰਨਾ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਠੇ ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਅਕਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੈ,
The Gurmukh obtains the eight miraculous spiritual powers, and all wisdom.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਭਵਜਲੁਤਰੀਐਸਚਸੁਧੀ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤਰ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਦੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਮੱਤ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh crosses over the terrifying world-ocean, and obtains true understanding.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਰਅਪਸਰਬਿਧਿਜਾਣੈ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਚੰਗੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਸਮੇ ਦਾ ਹਾਲਤ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
The Gurmukh knows the ways of truth and untruth.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਪਰਵਿਰਤਿਨਰਵਿਰਤਿਪਛਾਣੈ॥
ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਛਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੀਹ ਛੱਡਣਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਕੀਹ ਗ੍ਰਹਣ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh knows worldliness and renunciation.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਤਾਰੇਪਾਰਿਉਤਾਰੇ॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਤਾਰ ਕੇ ਪਾਰਲੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh crosses over, and carries others across as well.
ਨਾਨਕਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸਬਦਿਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ॥੩੧॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਤੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬੰਦਾ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ) ਤਾਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩੧॥
O Nanak, the Gurmukh is emancipated through the Shabad. ||31||
ਨਾਮੇਰਾਤੇਹਉਮੈਜਾਇ॥
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ) ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਰੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਦੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਨਾਸ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
Attuned to the Naam, the Name of the Lord, egotism is dispelled.
ਨਾਮਿਰਤੇਸਚਿਰਹੇਸਮਾਇ॥
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Attuned to the Naam, they remain absorbed in the True Lord.
ਨਾਮਿਰਤੇਜੋਗਜੁਗਤਿਬੀਚਾਰੁ॥
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਜੋਗ ਦੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਤੇ ਸਹੀ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
Attuned to the Naam, they contemplate the Way of Yoga.
ਨਾਮਿਰਤੇਪਾਵਹਿਮੋਖਦੁਆਰੁ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਬੰਦੇ ਹੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਪਾਣ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਲੱਭਦੇ ਹਨ,
Attuned to the Naam, they find the door of liberation.
ਨਾਮਿਰਤੇਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣਸੋਝੀਹੋਇ॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਤੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਕੀ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਆਪਣੀ ਨਿੱਕੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਅਪਣੱਤ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਸਾਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਕੀ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਆਪਣੀ ਦਿੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ)।
Attuned to the Naam, they understand the three worlds.
ਨਾਨਕਨਾਮਿਰਤੇਸਦਾਸੁਖੁਹੋਇ॥੩੨॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩੨॥
O Nanak, attuned to the Naam, eternal peace is found. ||32||
ਨਾਮਿਰਤੇਸਿਧਗੋਸਟਿਹੋਇ॥
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ) ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਤਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Attuned to the Naam, they attain Sidh Gosht - conversation with the Siddhas.
ਨਾਮਿਰਤੇਸਦਾਤਪੁਹੋਇ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪੁੰਨ-ਕਰਮ ਹੈ।
Attuned to the Naam, they practice intense meditation forever.
ਨਾਮਿਰਤੇਸਚੁਕਰਣੀਸਾਰੁ॥
ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗਣਾ ਹੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਤੇ ਉੱਤਮ ਕਰਣੀ ਹੈ।
Attuned to the Naam, they live the true and excellent lifestyle.
ਨਾਮਿਰਤੇਗੁਣਗਿਆਨਬੀਚਾਰੁ॥
ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਤੇ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ।
Attuned to the Naam, they contemplate the Lord's virtues and spiritual wisdom.
ਬਿਨੁਨਾਵੈਬੋਲੈਸਭੁਵੇਕਾਰੁ॥
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ) ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੋ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੈ।
Without the Name, all that is spoken is useless.
ਨਾਨਕਨਾਮਿਰਤੇਤਿਨਕਉਜੈਕਾਰੁ॥੩੩॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਸਾਡੀ) ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਹੈ ॥੩੩॥
O Nanak, attuned to the Naam, their victory is celebrated. ||33||
ਪੂਰੇਗੁਰਤੇਨਾਮੁਪਾਇਆਜਾਇ॥
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ;
Through the Perfect Guru, one obtains the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਜੋਗਜੁਗਤਿਸਚਿਰਹੈਸਮਾਇ॥
ਸੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿਣਾ-ਇਹੀ ਹੈ (ਅਸਲ) ਜੋਗ ਦੀ ਜੁਗਤੀ।
The Way of Yoga is to remain absorbed in Truth.
ਬਾਰਹਮਹਿਜੋਗੀਭਰਮਾਏਸੰਨਿਆਸੀਛਿਅਚਾਰਿ॥
(ਪਰ) ਜੋਗੀ ਲੋਕ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਬਾਰਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰਕਿਆਂ (ਦੀ ਵੰਡ) ਵਿਚ (ਇਸ ਅਸਲ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੇ ਤੋਂ) ਭੁੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ ਲੋਕ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਦਸ ਫ਼ਿਰਕਿਆਂ (ਦੇ ਵਖੋ ਵੱਖ ਸਾਧਨਾਂ) ਵਿਚ।
The Yogis wander in the twelve schools of Yoga; the Sannyaasis in six and four.
ਗੁਰਕੈਸਬਦਿਜੋਮਰਿਜੀਵੈਸੋਪਾਏਮੋਖਦੁਆਰੁ॥
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ) ਮਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਊਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ (ਹਉਮੈ ਤੋਂ) ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who remains dead while yet alive, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, finds the door of liberation.
