ਸਕਲਕਟਕਕੇਭਟਨਕੋਦਇਓਜੁਧਕੋਸਾਜ॥
ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਦੇ ਸੈਨਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯੁੱਧ ਦਾ ਸਾਮਾਨ (ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ-ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਆਦਿ) ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
He gave the material of war to all the warriors.,
ਸਸਤ੍ਰਪਹਰਕੈਇਉਕਹਿਓਹਨਿਹੋਚੰਡਹਿਆਜ॥੧੭੪॥
(ਸੁੰਭ ਨੇ) ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਇੰਜ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ (ਮੈਂ) ਚੰਡੀ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਹੀ ਮਾਰਾਂਗਾ ॥੧੭੪॥
He himself wore his arms and armour and said this:” I shall kill Chandi to-day.”174.,

ਸ੍ਵੈਯਾ:
SWAYYA,
ਕੋਪਕੈਸੁੰਭਨਿਸੁੰਭਚਢੇਧੁਨਿਦੁੰਦਭਿਕੀਦਸਹੂੰਦਿਸਧਾਈ॥
ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੁੰਭ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਸੁੰਭ (ਦੋਹਾਂ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ) ਨੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਗਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਧੁਨ ਦਸਾਂ ਦਿਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਸਰ ਗਈ।
In great rage, both Sumbh and Nisumbh marched forward for war, the trumpets sounded in all the ten directions.
ਪਾਇਕਅਗ੍ਰਭਏਮਧਿਬਾਜਰਥੀਰਥਸਾਜਕੈਪਾਤਿਬਨਾਈ॥
ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਅਗੇ ਪੈਦਲ (ਸੈਨਿਕ) ਹੋਏ, ਮੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਘੋੜ-ਚੜ੍ਹੇ (ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ) ਰਥਾਂ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਤਾਰਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਲਈਆਂ।
In front there were warriors on foot, in the middle the warriors on horses and behind them, the charioteers have arranged the chariots in rows.,
ਮਾਤੇਮਤੰਗਕੇਪੁੰਜਨਊਪਰਿਸੁੰਦਰਤੁੰਗਧੁਜਾਫਹਰਾਈ॥
ਮਸਤ ਹਾਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਝੁੰਡਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਧੁਜਾਂ ਝੁਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
On the palanquins of the intoxicated elephants, beautiful and lofty banners are flying.,
ਸਕ੍ਰਸੋਜੁਧਕੇਹੇਤਮਨੋਧਰਿਛਾਡਿਸਪਛਉਡੇਗਿਰਰਾਈ॥੧੭੫॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਇੰਦਰ (ਸਕ੍ਰ) ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਖੰਭਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ (ਸਪੱਛ) ਵਡੇ ਵਡੇ ਪਰਬਤ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਉਡੇ (ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਣ) ॥੧੭੫॥
It seems that in order to wage w war with Indra, the large winged mountain are flying from the earth.175.,

ਸੁੰਭਨਿਸੁੰਭਬਨਾਇਦਲੁਘੇਰਿਲਇਓਗਿਰਰਾਜ॥
ਸੁੰਭ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਸੁੰਭ ਨੇ ਦਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਉਂਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਸੁਮੇਰ ਪਰਬਤ ('ਗਿਰ ਰਾਜ') ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ
Gathering their forces Sumbh and Nisumbh have besieged the mountain.,
ਕਵਚਅੰਗਕਸਿਕੋਪਕਰਿਉਠੇਸਿੰਘਜਿਉਗਾਜ॥੧੭੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਕਵਚਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਸ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਗਜ ਉਠੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੭੬॥
On their bodies they have tightened their armour and in rage they are roaring like lions.176.,

ਸੁੰਭਨਿਸੁੰਭਸੁਬੀਰਬਲੀਮਨਿਕੋਪਭਰੇਰਨਭੂਮਹਿਆਏ॥
ਅਤਿ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਸੁੰਭ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਸੁੰਭ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਏ ਹਨ।
The mighty demons Sumbh and Nisumbh, filled with rage, have entered the battlefield.,
ਦੇਖਨਮੈਸੁਭਅੰਗਉਤੰਗਤੁਰਾਕਰਿਤੇਜਧਰਾਪਰਧਾਏ॥
ਦੇਖਣ ਵਿਚ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਹਨ (ਉਹ) ਉੱਚੇ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ (ਉਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ) ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਭਜੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
They, whose limas are winsome and lofty, they are driving their swift horses on the earth.,
ਧੂਰਉਡੀਤਬਤਾਛਿਨਮੈਤਿਹਕੇਕਨਕਾਪਗਸੋਲਪਟਾਏ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਧੂੜ ਉਡੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਛਿਣ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਜ਼ੱਰੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ ਲਗੇ ਹਨ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਖੁਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਧੂੜ ਚੰਬੜ ਗਈ ਹੈ)।

ਠਉਰਅਡੀਠਕੇਜੈਕਰਬੇਕਹਿਤੇਜਿਮਨੋਮਨਸੀਖਨਆਏ॥੧੭੭॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਅਣਦਿਸਦੀ ਥਾਂ (ਸੁਅਰਗ) ਨੂੰ ਜਿਤਣ ਲਈ (ਖੁਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਤੀਬਰਤਾ ਸਿਖਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਜ਼ੱਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਮਨ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਲੈਣ ਆਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੭੭॥
It seems that in order to conquer the invisible place, the mind in the form of particles hath come to learn about swiftness from the hooves.177.,

ਚੰਡਿਕਾਲਿਕਾਸ੍ਰਵਨਮੈਤਨਿਕਭਨਕਸੁਨਿਲੀਨ॥
(ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ) ਚੰਡੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲੀ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਥੋੜੀ ਬਿੜਕ ਸੁਣ ਲਈ।
Chandi and Kali both heard slight rumour with their ears.,
ਉਤਰਿਸ੍ਰਿੰਗਗਿਰਰਾਜਤੇਮਹਾਕੁਲਾਹਲਿਕੀਨ॥੧੭੮॥
(ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਸੁਮੇਰ ਪਰਬਤ ਦੀ ਚੋਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਰ ਕੇ ਖੂਬ ਹਲਾ-ਗੁਲਾ ਮਚਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੭੮॥

ਆਵਤਦੇਖਿਕੈਚੰਡਪ੍ਰਚੰਡਿਕੋਕੋਪਕਰਿਓਮਨਮੈਅਤਿਦਾਨੋ॥
ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਚੰਡੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਸ਼ੁੰਭ) ਦੈਂਤ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ।
Seeing the powerful Chandika coming towards him, the demon-king Sumbh became very furious.,
ਨਾਸਕਰੋਇਹਕੋਛਿਨਮੈਕਰਿਬਾਨਸੰਭਾਰਬਡੋਧਨੁਤਾਨੋ॥
ਇਸ (ਦੇਵੀ) ਨੂੰ ਛਿਣ ਵਿਚ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। (ਇਹ ਭਾਵ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ) ਬਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਵਡੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਖਿਚਿਆ।

ਕਾਲੀਕੇਬਕ੍ਰਬਿਲੋਕਨਤੇਸੁਉਠਿਓਮਨਮੈਭ੍ਰਮਜਿਉਜਮਜਾਨੋ॥
ਕਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਮੁਖ (ਬਕ੍ਰ) ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਨਾਲ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਭਰਮ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ (ਇਹ) ਜਮ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ।
Seeing the face of Kali, misapprehension was created in his mind, the face of Kali seemed to him as the face of Yama.,
ਬਾਨਸਮੂਹਚਲਾਇਦਏਕਿਲਕਾਰਉਠਿਓਜੁਪ੍ਰਲੈਘਨਮਾਨੋ॥੧੭੯॥
(ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਬਾਣ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਚੀਖ਼ ਉਠਿਆ ਮਾਨੋ ਪਰਲੋ ਵੇਲੇ ਦੇ ਬਦਲ (ਗਜਦੇ ਹੋਣ) ॥੧੭੯॥
Still he shot all his arrows and thundered like the coulds of doomsday.179.,
ਬੈਰਨਕੇਘਨਸੇਦਲਪੈਠਿਲਇਓਕਰਿਮੈਧਨੁਸਾਇਕੁਐਸੇ॥
ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਦਲ ਵਰਗੇ ਦਲ ਵਿਚ ਵੜ ਕੇ (ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼ਬਾਣ ਫੜ ਲਿਆ।
