ਨਾਨਕਕਉਪ੍ਰਭਕਿਰਪਾਕੀਜੈਨੇਤ੍ਰਦੇਖਹਿਦਰਸੁਤੇਰਾ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਨਾਨਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, (ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀਆਂ) ਅੱਖਾਂ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿਣ ॥੧॥
Please bless Nanak with Your Merciful Grace, O God, that his eyes may behold the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||1||
ਕੋਟਿਕਰਨਦੀਜਹਿਪ੍ਰਭਪ੍ਰੀਤਮਹਰਿਗੁਣਸੁਣੀਅਹਿਅਬਿਨਾਸੀਰਾਮ॥
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਹਰੀ! (ਜੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਕੰਨ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਣ, ਤਾਂ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਸੁਣੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਣ।
Please bless me, O Beloved God, with millions of ears, with which I may hear the Glorious Praises of the Imperishable Lord.
ਸੁਣਿਸੁਣਿਇਹੁਮਨੁਨਿਰਮਲੁਹੋਵੈਕਟੀਐਕਾਲਕੀਫਾਸੀਰਾਮ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ) ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Listening, listening to these, this mind becomes spotless and pure, and the noose of Death is cut.
ਕਟੀਐਜਮਫਾਸੀਸਿਮਰਿਅਬਿਨਾਸੀਸਗਲਮੰਗਲਸੁਗਿਆਨਾ॥
ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਜਮ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਅੰਤਰ ਆਤਮੇ) ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
The noose of Death is cut, meditating on the Imperishable Lord, and all happiness and wisdom are obtained.
ਹਰਿਹਰਿਜਪੁਜਪੀਐਦਿਨੁਰਾਤੀਲਾਗੈਸਹਜਿਧਿਆਨਾ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
Chant, and meditate, day and night, on the Lord, Har, Har. Focus your meditation on the Celestial Lord.
ਕਲਮਲਦੁਖਜਾਰੇਪ੍ਰਭੂਚਿਤਾਰੇਮਨਕੀਦੁਰਮਤਿਨਾਸੀ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਇਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਸੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਨ ਦੀ ਖੋਟੀ ਮਤਿ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
The painful sins are burnt away, by keeping God in one's thoughts; evil-mindedness is erased.
ਕਹੁਨਾਨਕਪ੍ਰਭਕਿਰਪਾਕੀਜੈਹਰਿਗੁਣਸੁਣੀਅਹਿਅਵਿਨਾਸੀ॥੨॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇਂ, ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਸੁਣੇ ਜਾਣ ॥੨॥
Says Nanak, O God, please be Merciful to me, that I may listen to Your Glorious Praises, O Imperishable Lord. ||2||
ਕਰੋੜਿਹਸਤਤੇਰੀਟਹਲਕਮਾਵਹਿਚਰਣਚਲਹਿਪ੍ਰਭਮਾਰਗਿਰਾਮ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੱਥ ਤੇਰੀ ਟਹਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ) ਪੈਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
Please give me millions of hands to serve You, God, and let my feet walk on Your Path.
ਭਵਸਾਗਰਨਾਵਹਰਿਸੇਵਾਜੋਚੜੈਤਿਸੁਤਾਰਗਿਰਾਮ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ (ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣ ਲਈ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਬੇੜੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜੀਵ (ਇਸ ਬੇੜੀ ਵਿਚ) ਸਵਾਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Service to the Lord is the boat to carry us across the terrifying world-ocean.
ਭਵਜਲੁਤਰਿਆਹਰਿਹਰਿਸਿਮਰਿਆਸਗਲਮਨੋਰਥਪੂਰੇ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਉਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
So cross over the terrifying world-ocean, meditating in remembrance on the Lord, Har, Har; all wishes shall be fulfilled.
ਮਹਾਬਿਕਾਰਗਏਸੁਖਉਪਜੇਬਾਜੇਅਨਹਦਤੂਰੇ॥
(ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੁਖ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਵਾਜੇ ਵੱਜ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Even the worst corruption is taken away; peace wells up, and the unstruck celestial harmony vibrates and resounds.
ਮਨਬਾਂਛਤਫਲਪਾਏਸਗਲੇਕੁਦਰਤਿਕੀਮਅਪਾਰਗਿ॥
(ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮਨ-ਮੰਗੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਈਆਂ। (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੇਰੀ ਇਸ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
All the fruits of the mind's desires are obtained; His creative power is infinitely valuable.
ਕਹੁਨਾਨਕਪ੍ਰਭਕਿਰਪਾਕੀਜੈਮਨੁਸਦਾਚਲੈਤੇਰੈਮਾਰਗਿ॥੩॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਭੀ) ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, (ਮੇਰਾ) ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਰਹੇ ॥੩॥
Says Nanak, please be Merciful to me, God, that my mind may follow Your Path forever. ||3||
ਏਹੋਵਰੁਏਹਾਵਡਿਆਈਇਹੁਧਨੁਹੋਇਵਡਭਾਗਾਰਾਮ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਹੈ, ਇਹੀ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹੈ, ਇਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਧਨ ਹੈ, ਇਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਹੈ।
This opportunity, this glorious greatness, this blessing and wealth, come by great good fortune.
ਏਹੋਰੰਗੁਏਹੋਰਸਭੋਗਾਹਰਿਚਰਣੀਮਨੁਲਾਗਾਰਾਮ॥
ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਭੋਗਣਾ, (ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
These pleasures, these delightful enjoyments, come when my mind is attached to the Lord's Feet.
ਮਨੁਲਾਗਾਚਰਣੇਪ੍ਰਭਕੀਸਰਣੇਕਰਣਕਾਰਣਗੋਪਾਲਾ॥
(ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮੂਲ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦੀ ਸਰਨੀਂ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
My mind is attached to God's Feet; I seek His Sanctuary. He is the Creator, the Cause of causes, the Cherisher of the world.
ਸਭੁਕਿਛੁਤੇਰਾਤੂਪ੍ਰਭੁਮੇਰਾਮੇਰੇਠਾਕੁਰਦੀਨਦਇਆਲਾ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ! ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹਰੇਕ ਦਾਤ (ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
Everything is Yours; You are my God, O my Lord and Master, Merciful to the meek.
ਮੋਹਿਨਿਰਗੁਣਪ੍ਰੀਤਮਸੁਖਸਾਗਰਸੰਤਸੰਗਿਮਨੁਜਾਗਾ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ! ਹੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ! (ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਨ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਜਾਗ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।
I am worthless, O my Beloved, ocean of peace. In the Saints' Congregation, my mind is awakened.
ਕਹੁਨਾਨਕਪ੍ਰਭਿਕਿਰਪਾਕੀਨੑੀਚਰਣਕਮਲਮਨੁਲਾਗਾ॥੪॥੩॥੬॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਜਦੋਂ) ਤੂੰ ਮਿਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਤਾਂ (ਮੇਰਾ) ਮਨ (ਤੇਰੇ) ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ॥੪॥੩॥੬॥
Says Nanak, God has been Merciful to me; my mind is attached to His Lotus Feet. ||4||3||6||
ਸੂਹੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Soohee, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਹਰਿਜਪੇਹਰਿਮੰਦਰੁਸਾਜਿਆਸੰਤਭਗਤਗੁਣਗਾਵਹਿਰਾਮ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ-) ਘਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਲਈ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ) ਸੰਤ-ਜਨ ਭਗਤ-ਜਨ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Meditating on the Lord, the Lord's Temple has been built; the Saints and devotees sing the Lord's Glorious Praises.
ਸਿਮਰਿਸਿਮਰਿਸੁਆਮੀਪ੍ਰਭੁਅਪਨਾਸਗਲੇਪਾਪਤਜਾਵਹਿਰਾਮ॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ (ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Meditating, meditating in remembrance of God, their Lord and Master, they discard and renounce all their sins.
ਹਰਿਗੁਣਗਾਇਪਰਮਪਦੁਪਾਇਆਪ੍ਰਭਕੀਊਤਮਬਾਣੀ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਗਾ ਕੇ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, the supreme status is obtained. The Word of God's Bani is sublime and exalted.
ਸਹਜਕਥਾਪ੍ਰਭਕੀਅਤਿਮੀਠੀਕਥੀਅਕਥਕਹਾਣੀ॥
(ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਤ-ਜਨਾਂ ਨੇ) ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਸਰੂਪ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਅਤਿ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
God's Sermon is so very sweet. It brings celestial peace. It is to speak the Unspoken Speech.
ਭਲਾਸੰਜੋਗੁਮੂਰਤੁਪਲੁਸਾਚਾਅਬਿਚਲਨੀਵਰਖਾਈ॥
(ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ) ਸ਼ੁਭ ਸੰਜੋਗ ਆ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੁਹੂਰਤ ਆ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ) ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਹਿੱਲਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਨੀਂਹ ਰੱਖੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
The time and the moment were auspicious, blessed and true, when the eternal foundation of this Temple was placed.
ਜਨਨਾਨਕਪ੍ਰਭਭਏਦਇਆਲਾਸਰਬਕਲਾਬਣਿਆਈ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਤਕੜੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਤਾਕਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
O servant Nanak, God has been kind and compassionate; with all His powers, He has blessed me. ||1||
ਆਨੰਦਾਵਜਹਿਨਿਤਵਾਜੇਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁਮਨਿਵੂਠਾਰਾਮ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ 'ਅਬਿਚਲ ਨੀਵ' ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ-ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ) ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਸਦਾ (ਮਾਨੋ,) ਵਾਜੇ ਵੱਜਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The sounds of ecstasy vibrate through me continuously. I have enshrined the Supreme Lord within my mind.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖੇਸਚੁਕਰਣੀਸਾਰੀਬਿਨਸੇਭ੍ਰਮਭੈਝੂਠਾਰਾਮ॥
(ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਰਰਿ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਸਾਰੇ ਭਰਮ ਡਰ ਝੂਠ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ (ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਤੱਬ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
As Gurmukh, my lifestyle is excellent and true; my false hopes and doubts are dispelled.
ਅਨਹਦਬਾਣੀਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਵਖਾਣੀਜਸੁਸੁਣਿਸੁਣਿਮਨੁਤਨੁਹਰਿਆ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਤਨ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh chants the Bani of the unstruck melody; hearing it, listening to it, my mind and body are rejuvenated.
ਸਰਬਸੁਖਾਤਿਸਹੀਬਣਿਆਏਜੋਪ੍ਰਭਿਅਪਨਾਕਰਿਆ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ (ਪਿਆਰਾ) ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ, ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ।
All pleasures are obtained, by that one whom God makes His Own.
ਘਰਮਹਿਨਵਨਿਧਿਭਰੇਭੰਡਾਰਾਰਾਮਨਾਮਿਰੰਗੁਲਾਗਾ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ (ਹਿਰਦੇ-) ਘਰ ਵਿਚ (ਮਾਨੋ, ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ) ਨੌ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਭੰਡਾਰੇ ਭਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Within the home of the heart are the nine treasures, filled to overflowing. He has fallen in love with the Lord's Name.
ਨਾਨਕਜਨਪ੍ਰਭੁਕਦੇਨਵਿਸਰੈਪੂਰਨਜਾਕੇਭਾਗਾ॥੨॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਦਾਸ ਦੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ ॥੨॥
Servant Nanak shall never forget God; his destiny is perfectly fulfilled. ||2||
ਛਾਇਆਪ੍ਰਭਿਛਤ੍ਰਪਤਿਕੀਨੑੀਸਗਲੀਤਪਤਿਬਿਨਾਸੀਰਾਮ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ) ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਿਆ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਸੜਨ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
God, the King, has given me shade under His canopy, and the fire of desire has been totally extinguished.
ਦੂਖਪਾਪਕਾਡੇਰਾਢਾਠਾਕਾਰਜੁਆਇਆਰਾਸੀਰਾਮ॥
(ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੱਡਾ ਹੀ ਢਹਿ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ-ਮਨੋਰਥ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
The home of sorrow and sin has been demolished, and all affairs have been resolved.
ਹਰਿਪ੍ਰਭਿਫੁਰਮਾਇਆਮਿਟੀਬਲਾਇਆਸਾਚੁਧਰਮੁਪੁੰਨੁਫਲਿਆ॥
ਹਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ (ਤੇ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ) ਬਲਾ (ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ) ਮੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਧਰਮ ਪੁੰਨ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਵਧਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
When the Lord God so commands, misfortune is averted; true righteousness, Dharma and charity flourish.
