ਦੀਨਸਾਹਇਨਕੋਪਹਿਚਾਨੋ॥
ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਸਮਝੋ
ਦੁਨੀਪਤਿਉਨਕੋਅਨੁਮਾਨੋ॥੯॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦਾ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਵਿਚਾਰੋ ॥੯॥
Recognise the former as the spiritual king and the later as temporal king.9.
ਜੋਬਾਬੇਕੋਦਾਮਨਦੈਹੈ॥
ਜੋ ਬਾਬੇ (ਦੇ ਧਰਮ-ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ) ਲਈ ਧਨ ਭੇਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ,
ਤਿਨਤੇਗਹਿਬਾਬਰਕੇਲੈਹੈ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਬਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਲੈਣਗੇ।
Those who do not deliver the Guru’s money, the successors of Babur shall seize and take away forcibly from them.
ਦੈਦੈਤਿਨਕੋਬਡੀਸਜਾਇ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਦੇ ਕੇ,
ਪੁਨਿਲੈਹੈਗ੍ਰਹਿਲੂਟਬਨਾਇ॥੧੦॥
ਫਿਰ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਘਰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੁਟ ਲੈਣਗੇ ॥੧੦॥
They will be greatly punished (and their houses will he plundered.10.
ਜਬਹ੍ਵੈਹੈਬੇਮੁਖਬਿਨਾਧਨ॥
ਜਦ (ਉਹ) ਬੇਮੁਖ (ਮਸੰਦ) ਧਨ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਝੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ,
ਤਬਿਚੜਿਹੈਸਿਖਨਕਹਮਾਗਨ॥
ਤਦ ਫਿਰ (ਉਹ) ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮੰਗਣ ਚੜ੍ਹਨਗੇ।
Those impertinent persons will he without money, they will beg for it form the Sikhs.
ਜੇਜੇਸਿਖਤਿਨੈਧਨਦੈਹੈ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਨ ਦੇਣਗੇ,
ਲੂਟਿਮਲੇਛਤਿਨੂਕੌਲੈਹੈ॥੧੧॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਲੇਛ ਲੁਟ ਲੈਣਗੇ ॥੧੧॥
And those Sikhs, who will give them money, their houses will be plundered by the Malechhas (barbarians).11.
ਜਬਹੁਇਹੈਤਿਨਦਰਬਬਿਨਾਸਾ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਨ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ,
ਤਬਧਰਿਹੈਨਿਜਿਗੁਰਕੀਆਸਾ॥
ਤਦੋਂ (ਉਹ) ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਕਰਨਗੇ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਣਗੇ)।
When their wealth will be destroyed, then they will keep hopes on their Guru.
ਜਬਤੇਗੁਰਦਰਸਨਕੋਐਹੈ॥
ਜਦ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ-ਦਰਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਆਉਣਗੇ,
ਤਬਤਿਨਕੋਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਨਲਗੈਹੈ॥੧੨॥
ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਾਵੇਗਾ ॥੧੨॥
They will all come then to have a sight of the Guru, but the Guru will not receive them.12.
ਬਿਦਾਬਿਨਾਜੈਹੈਤਬਧਾਮੰ॥
ਤਦ (ਉਹ ਸਿੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ) ਆਗਿਆ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਤਣਗੇ,
ਸਰਿਹੈਕੋਈਨਤਿਨਕੋਕਾਮੰ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਕੰਮ ਵੀ ਸਿਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੜ੍ਹੇਗਾ।
Then without seeking the permission of the Guru, they will return to their homes, therefore none of their work will be fruitful.
ਗੁਰਦਰਿਢੋਈਨਪ੍ਰਭੁਪੁਰਿਵਾਸਾ॥
(ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਉਤੇ ਢੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ (ਮਿਲਦੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਰ ਉਤੇ ਵੀ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ।
ਦੁਹੂੰਠਉਰਤੇਰਹੇਨਿਰਾਸਾ॥੧੩॥
ਉਹ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਾਸ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੩॥
He, who doth not get the refuge at the house of the Guru, he doth not get an abode in the Court of the Lord. He remains disappointed at both the places, in this world as well as the next world.13.
ਜੇਜੇਗੁਰਚਰਨਨਰਤਹ੍ਵੈਹੈ॥
ਜੋ ਜੋ (ਲੋਕ) ਗੁਰੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਲਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਤਿਨਕੋਕਸਟਿਨਦੇਖਨਪੈਹੈ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਲ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਵੇਖ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
Those, who are the devotees of Guru’s feet, the sufferings cannot touch them.
ਰਿਧਿਸਿਧਿਤਿਨਕੇਗ੍ਰਿਹਮਾਹੀ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਰਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਸਦਾ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਪਾਪਤਾਪਛ੍ਵੈਸਕੈਨਛਾਹੀ॥੧੪॥
ਪਾਪ ਅਤੇ ਤਾਪ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ) ਪਰਛਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਛੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੧੪॥
The wealth and prosperity always abide in their house and the sins and ailments cannot even come near their shadow.14.
ਤਿਹਮਲੇਛਛ੍ਵੈਹੈਨਹੀਛਾਹਾ॥
ਮਲੇਛ (ਲੋਕ) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਛਾਇਆ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਛੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ।
ਅਸਟਸਿਧਹ੍ਵੈਹੈਘਰਿਮਾਹਾ॥
ਅੱਠ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
The malechha (barbarian) cannot touch their shadwow, the eight miraculous powers in their house.
ਹਾਸਕਰਤਜੋਉਦਮਉਠੈਹੈ॥
ਹਾਸਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ (ਸਹਿਜ ਸੁਭਾਵਿਕ) ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਦਮ (ਲਈ ਕਦਮ) ਉਠਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਨਵੋਨਿਧਿਤਿਨਕੇਘਰਿਐਹੈ॥੧੫॥
ਨੌ ਨਿੱਧਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰੀਂ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ॥੧੫॥
Even if they endeavour to reap gain by way of fun, the nine treasures come to their abode by themselves.15.
ਮਿਰਜਾਬੇਗਹੁਤੋਤਿਹਨਾਮੰ॥
ਉਸ (ਅਹਿਦੀਏ ਦਾ) ਨਾਂ ਮਿਰਜ਼ਾ ਬੇਗ ਸੀ
ਜਿਨਿਢਾਹੇਬੇਮੁਖਨਕੇਧਾਮੰ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਬੇਮੁਖ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਢਾਹੇ ਸਨ।
Mirza Beg was the name of the officer, who demolished the houses of the apostates.
ਸਭਸਨਮੁਖਗੁਰਆਪਬਚਾਏ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ,
ਤਿਨਕੇਬਾਰਨਬਾਂਕਨਪਾਏ॥੧੬॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਾਲ ਵੀ ਵਿੰਗਾ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਿਆ ॥੧੬॥
Those who remained faithful, were protected by the Guru, not even a little harm was done to them.16.
ਉਤਅਉਰੰਗਜੀਯਅਧਿਕਰਿਸਾਯੋ॥
ਉਧਰ ਔਰੰਗਜ਼ੇਬ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਅਧਿਕ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ।
ਚਾਰਅਹਦੀਯਨਅਉਰਪਠਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਚਾਰ ਅਹਿਦੀਏ ਹੋਰ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
There the son of Aurangzeb grew most angry, he sent four other officers.
ਜੇਬੇਮੁਖਤਾਤੇਬਚਿਆਏ॥
ਜੋ ਬੇਮੁਖ ਉਸ (ਮਿਰਜ਼ਾ ਬੇਗ) ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਨਿਕਲੇ ਸਨ,
ਤਿਨਕੇਗ੍ਰਿਹਪੁਨਿਇਨੈਗਿਰਾਏ॥੧੭॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਫਿਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਢਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ॥੧੭॥
Those apostates who had escaped (the punishment) earlier, there hoses were demolished by the officers. 17.
ਜੇਤਜਿਭਜੇਹੁਤੇਗੁਰਆਨਾ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਭਜੇ ਸਨ,
ਤਿਨਪੁਨਿਗੁਰੂਅਹਦੀਅਹਿਜਾਨਾ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਫਿਰ ਅਹਿਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੰਨ ਲਿਆ।
Those who had fled form Anandpur forsaking the refuge of the Guru and considered are officers as their Guru.
ਮੂਤ੍ਰਡਾਰਤਿਨਸੀਸਮੁੰਡਾਏ॥
(ਅਹਿਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ) ਪਿਸ਼ਾਬ ਪਾ ਕੇ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਸਿਰ ਮੁੰਨਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
ਪਾਹੁਰਿਜਾਨਿਗ੍ਰਿਹਹਿਲੈਆਏ॥੧੮॥
(ਇਸ ਨੂੰ) ਪਾਹੁਲ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ (ਉਹ) ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਤੇ ॥੧੮॥
Who have put the urine on their heads and shaved them, it appears that they Guru, these officers enquired about their address from others.18.
ਜੇਜੇਭਾਜਿਹੁਤੇਬਿਨੁਆਇਸੁ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ) ਆਗਿਆ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਆਨੰਦਪੁਰੋਂ) ਭਜੇ ਸਨ,
ਕਹੋਅਹਦੀਅਹਿਕਿਨੈਬਤਾਇਸੁ॥
ਦਸੋ, (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ) ਅਹਿਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਦਸਿਆ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਅਗੰਮੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਰੇ ਅਹਿਦੀਏ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਿਛੇ ਲਗ ਗਏ)।
Those who had fled from Anandpur without the permission of their Guru, these officers enquired about their address from others.
ਮੂੰਡਮੂੰਡਿਕਰਿਸਹਰਿਫਿਰਾਏ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਮੁੰਨ ਮੁੰਨ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿਚ ਫਿਰਾਇਆ,
ਕਾਰਭੇਟਜਨੁਲੈਨਸਿਧਾਏ॥੧੯॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਕਾਰ-ਭੇਟ ਉਗਰਾਹੁਣ ਲਈ ਤੁਰੇ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੯॥
They have got their heads shaved and caused them to move throughout the city. It appears that they have been sent to collect the offerings by the officers.19.
ਪਾਛੈਲਾਗਿਲਰਿਕਵਾਚਲੇ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਜੋ ਬੱਚੇ (ਓਇ ਓਇ ਕਰਦੇ) ਚਲ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ,
ਜਾਨੁਕਸਿਖਸਖਾਹੈਭਲੇ॥
ਮਾਨੋ (ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਚੰਗੇ ਸਿੱਖ-ਸੇਵਕ ਹੋਣ।
The boys who are following them and jeering them, appear like their disciples and servants.
ਛਿਕੇਤੋਬਰਾਬਦਨਚੜਾਏ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਮੂੰਹ ਉਤੇ ਤੋਬਰੇ ਖਿਚ ਕੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਸਨ,
ਜਨੁਗ੍ਰਿਹਿਖਾਨਮਲੀਦਾਆਏ॥੨੦॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਘਰੋਂ ਮਲੀਦਾ (ਨਿਹਾਰੀ, ਰਾਤਬ) ਖਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਆਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੨੦॥
The nose-bags containing turd of the horses, tied on their faces make them appear to have received for eating the sweetmeat from their homes.20.
ਮਸਤਕਿਸੁਭੇਪਨਹੀਯਨਘਾਇ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥਿਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਜੁਤੀਆਂ (ਪੈਣ) ਦੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਨ,
ਜਨੁਕਰਿਟੀਕਾਦਏਬਲਾਇ॥
ਮਾਨੋ (ਅਹਿਦੀਆਂ-ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਤਿਲਕ ਲਗਾਏ ਹੋਣ।
The marks of the wounds on their foreheads, cussed by the beating with shoes, look like the frontal marks put by the officers (as Guru).
