ਚਰਨਕਮਲਸੰਗਿਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਮਨਿਲਾਗੀਸੁਰਿਜਨਮਿਲੇਪਿਆਰੇ॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੱਜਣ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਕੋਮਲ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
My mind is in love with the Lord's lotus feet; I have met the Beloved Guru, the noble, heroic being.
ਨਾਨਕਅਨਦਕਰੇਹਰਿਜਪਿਜਪਿਸਗਲੇਰੋਗਨਿਵਾਰੇ॥੨॥੧੦॥੧੫॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੧੫॥
Nanak celebrates in bliss; chanting and meditating on the Lord, all sickness has been cured. ||2||10||15||
ਟੋਡੀਮਹਲਾ੫ਘਰੁ੩ਚਉਪਦੇ॥
ਰਾਗ ਟੋਡੀ, ਘਰ ੩ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਚਾਰ-ਬੰਦਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ।

ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਹਾਂਹਾਂਲਪਟਿਓਰੇਮੂੜੑੇਕਛੂਨਥੋਰੀ॥
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ (ਮਨ)! ਮੈਂ ਸਮਝ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲ) ਚੰਬੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈਂ, (ਤੇਰੀ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਭੀ) ਕੁਝ ਥੋੜੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
Oh! Oh! You cling to Maya, you fool; this is not a trivial matter.
ਤੇਰੋਨਹੀਸੁਜਾਨੀਮੋਰੀ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਜੇਹੜੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਦਾ) ਤੇਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿਣੀ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਮਝ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ਰਹਾਉ॥
That which you consider to be yours, is not yours. ||Pause||
ਆਪਨਰਾਮੁਨਚੀਨੋਖਿਨੂਆ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਹੀ) ਆਪਣਾ (ਅਸਲ ਸਾਥੀ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ) ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭੀ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਈ।
You do not remember your Lord, even for an instant.
ਜੋਪਰਾਈਸੁਅਪਨੀਮਨੂਆ॥੧॥
ਜੇਹੜੀ (ਮਾਇਆ) ਬਿਗਾਨੀ (ਬਣ ਜਾਣੀ) ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੰਨ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
That which belongs to others, you believe to be your own. ||1||
ਨਾਮੁਸੰਗੀਸੋਮਨਿਨਬਸਾਇਓ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਅਸਲ) ਸਾਥੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਕਦੇ) ਨਹੀਂ ਵਸਾਇਆ।
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is always with you, but you do not enshrine it within your mind.
ਛੋਡਿਜਾਹਿਵਾਹੂਚਿਤੁਲਾਇਓ॥੨॥
(ਜੇਹੜੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਆਖ਼ਰ) ਛੱਡ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
You have attached your consciousness to that which you must eventually abandon. ||2||
ਸੋਸੰਚਿਓਜਿਤੁਭੂਖਤਿਸਾਇਓ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਧਨ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਭੁੱਖ ਤ੍ਰੇਹ (ਬਣੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ)।
You collect that which will bring you only hunger and thirst.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਨਾਮੁਤੋਸਾਨਹੀਪਾਇਓ॥੩॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ ਜੀਵਨ-ਸਫ਼ਰ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਰਚ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤੂੰ ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੩॥
You have not obtained the supplies of the Ambrosial Naam. ||3||
ਕਾਮਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਮੋਹਕੂਪਿਪਰਿਆ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਤੂੰ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈਂ।
You have fallen into the pit of sexual desire, anger and emotional attachment.
ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿਨਾਨਕਕੋਤਰਿਆ॥੪॥੧॥੧੬॥
(ਪਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਭੀ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਇਸ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੬॥
By Guru's Grace, O Nanak, a rare few are saved. ||4||1||16||
ਟੋਡੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Todee, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਹਮਾਰੈਏਕੈਹਰੀਹਰੀ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
I have only the One Lord, my God.
ਆਨਅਵਰਸਿਞਾਣਿਨਕਰੀ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਮੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ਰਹਾਉ॥
I do not recognize any other. ||Pause||
ਵਡੈਭਾਗਿਗੁਰੁਅਪੁਨਾਪਾਇਓ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਬੜੀ ਕਿਸਮਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਲੱਭਾ।
By great good fortune, I have found my Guru.
ਗੁਰਿਮੋਕਉਹਰਿਨਾਮੁਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਓ॥੧॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਦੇ ਕੇ) ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧॥
The Guru has implanted the Name of the Lord within me. ||1||
ਹਰਿਹਰਿਜਾਪਤਾਪਬ੍ਰਤਨੇਮਾ॥
ਹੁਣ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ (ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਜਪ ਤਪ ਹੈ, ਵਰਤ ਹੈ, ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਨਿਯਮ ਹੈ।
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is my meditation, austerity, fasting and daily religious practice.
ਹਰਿਹਰਿਧਿਆਇਕੁਸਲਸਭਿਖੇਮਾ॥੨॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
Meditating on the Lord, Har, Har, I have found total joy and bliss. ||2||
ਆਚਾਰਬਿਉਹਾਰਜਾਤਿਹਰਿਗੁਨੀਆ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਣੇ (ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਰਸਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ (ਉੱਚੀ) ਜਾਤਿ ਹੈ।
The Praises of the Lord are my good conduct, occupation and social class.
ਮਹਾਅਨੰਦਕੀਰਤਨਹਰਿਸੁਨੀਆ॥੩॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਵੱਡਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
Listening to the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, I am in absolute ecstasy. ||3||
ਕਹੁਨਾਨਕਜਿਨਿਠਾਕੁਰੁਪਾਇਆ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ,
Says Nanak, everything comes to the homes
ਸਭੁਕਿਛੁਤਿਸਕੇਗ੍ਰਿਹਮਹਿਆਇਆ॥੪॥੨॥੧੭॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਹਰੇਕ ਚੀਜ਼ ਆ ਗਈ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੭॥
of those who have found their Lord and Master. ||4||2||17||
ਟੋਡੀਮਹਲਾ੫ਘਰੁ੪ਦੁਪਦੇ॥
ਰਾਗ ਟੋਡੀ, ਘਰ ੪ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਦੋ-ਬੰਦਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ।

ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਰੂੜੋਮਨੁਹਰਿਰੰਗੋਲੋੜੈ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਂਞ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ) ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ (ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨਾ) ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
My beautiful mind longs for the Love of the Lord.
ਗਾਲੀਹਰਿਨੀਹੁਨਹੋਇ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਪਰ ਨਿਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਰਹਾਉ॥
By mere words, the Lord's Love does not come. ||Pause||
ਹਉਢੂਢੇਦੀਦਰਸਨਕਾਰਣਿਬੀਥੀਬੀਥੀਪੇਖਾ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮੈਂ (ਜਾਪ ਤਾਪ ਕਰਮ ਕਾਂਡ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੀ) ਗਲੀ ਗਲੀ ਢੂੰਢਦੀ ਰਹੀ, ਵੇਖਦੀ ਰਹੀ।
I have searched for the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, looking in each and every street.
ਗੁਰਮਿਲਿਭਰਮੁਗਵਾਇਆਹੇ॥੧॥
(ਆਖ਼ਰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
Meeting with the Guru, my doubts have been dispelled. ||1||
ਇਹਬੁਧਿਪਾਈਮੈਸਾਧੂਕੰਨਹੁਲੇਖੁਲਿਖਿਓਧੁਰਿਮਾਥੈ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਨ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ) ਇਹ ਅਕਲ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ, ਮੇਰੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ) ਲੇਖ ਧੁਰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
I have obtained this wisdom from the Holy Saints, according to the pre-ordained destiny inscribed upon my forehead.
ਇਹਬਿਧਿਨਾਨਕਹਰਿਨੈਣਅਲੋਇ॥੨॥੧॥੧੮॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ॥੨॥੧॥੧੮॥
In this way, Nanak has seen the Lord with his eyes. ||2||1||18||

ਗਰਬਿਗਹਿਲੜੋਮੂੜੜੋਹੀਓਰੇ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੂਰਖ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਝੱਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
My foolish heart is in the grip of pride.
ਹੀਓਮਹਰਾਜਰੀਮਾਇਓ॥
ਇਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਦੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੇ-
By the Will of my Lord God, Maya,
ਡੀਹਰਨਿਆਈਮੋਹਿਫਾਕਿਓਰੇ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਮੱਛੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੱਛੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੁੰਡੀ ਵਿਚ) ਰਹਾਉ॥
like a witch, has swallowed my soul. ||Pause||
ਘਣੋਘਣੋਘਣੋਸਦਲੋੜੈਬਿਨੁਲਹਣੇਕੈਠੈਪਾਇਓਰੇ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਿਰਦਾ) ਸਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਹੁਤ (ਮਾਇਆ) ਮੰਗਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਥੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇ?
More and more, he continually yearns for more; but unless he is destined to receive, how can he obtain it?
ਮਹਰਾਜਰੋਗਾਥੁਵਾਹੂਸਿਉਲੁਭੜਿਓਨਿਹਭਾਗੜੋਭਾਹਿਸੰਜੋਇਓਰੇ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਦਾ (ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ) ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਹੈ, ਇਸੇ ਨਾਲ (ਮੂਰਖ ਜੀਵ) ਮੋਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਿਭਾਗਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ) ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
He is entangled in wealth, bestowed by the Lord God; the unfortunate one attaches himself to the fire of desires. ||1||
ਸੁਣਿਮਨਸੀਖਸਾਧੂਜਨਸਗਲੋਥਾਰੇਸਗਲੇਪ੍ਰਾਛਤਮਿਟਿਓਰੇ॥
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਰ, (ਇਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
Listen, O mind, to the Teachings of the Holy Saints, and all your sins shall be totally washed away.
ਜਾਕੋਲਹਣੋਮਹਰਾਜਰੀਗਾਠੜੀਓਜਨਨਾਨਕਗਰਭਾਸਿਨਪਉੜਿਓਰੇ॥੨॥੨॥੧੯॥
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੯॥
One who is destined to receive from the Lord, O servant Nanak, shall not be cast into the womb of reincarnation again. ||2||2||19||
