ਧਿਆਨਲਾਇਮੁਨਿਨਿਰਖਨਲਾਗੈ॥੧੮੫॥
ਤਾਂ ਮੁਨੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਗਾ ॥੧੮੫॥
There he saw a Tom Cat, whom he continued ot scan attentively.185.
ਮੂਸਕਾਜਜਸਲਾਵਤਧਿਆਨੂ॥
ਚੂਹੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਕੜਨ ਲਈ (ਜੋ ਇਹ) ਧਿਆਨ ਲਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਲਾਜਤਦੇਖਿਮਹੰਤਮਹਾਨੂੰ॥
(ਉਸ ਧਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਮਹੰਤ ਵੀ ਲਜਾ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Seeing his miditativeness for the rats, even the great hermits felt shy
ਐਸਧਿਆਨਹਰਿਹੇਤਲਗਈਐ॥
(ਜੇ) ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਹਰਿ (ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ) ਲਈ ਲਗਾਈਐ,
ਤਬਹੀਨਾਥਨਿਰੰਜਨਪਈਐ॥੧੮੬॥
ਤਦ ਹੀ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧੮੬॥
If such meditativeness is observed for the sake of the Lord, only then that unmanifested Brahman can be realized.186.
ਪੰਚਮਗੁਰੂਯਾਹਿਹਮਜਾਨਾ॥
ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਂ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਪੰਜਵਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਮਝਿਆ।
ਯਾਕਹੁਭਾਵਹੀਐਅਨੁਮਾਨਾ॥
ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਇਹ) ਭਾਵ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਲਿਆ।
I shall consider him my fifth Guru, such a thought came to the mind of Dutt, the king of sages
ਐਸੀਭਾਤਿਧਿਆਨਜੋਲਾਵੈ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੋ ਧਿਆਨ ਲਗਾਵੇਗਾ,
ਸੋਨਿਹਚੈਸਾਹਿਬਕੋਪਾਵੈ॥੧੮੭॥
ਉਹ ਨਿਸਚੇ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ('ਸਾਹਿਬ') ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਵੇਗਾ ॥੧੮੭॥
He, who will meditate in such a way, he will assuredly realise the Lord.187.

ਆਗੇਚਲਾਰਾਜਸੰਨ੍ਯਾਸਾ॥
ਸੰਨਿਆਸ ਰਾਜ (ਦੱਤ) ਅਗੇ ਤੁਰ ਪਿਆ
ਏਕਆਸਗਹਿਐਸਅਨਾਸਾ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਨੇ) ਇਕ ਆਸ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਆਸਾਂ ਛਡ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
Leaving all other desires and keeping only one thought in his mind, Dutt, the king of Yogis moved further
ਤਹਇਕਰੂਮਧੁਨਖਤੋਲਹਾ॥
ਤਦ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਇਕ 'ਰੂਮ' (ਪੇਂਜਾ) ਰੂੰ ਪਿੰਜਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਵੇਖਿਆ (ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਸੈਨਾ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਣ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਕੰਮ ਵਲੋਂ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਟਾਇਆ)
ਐਸਭਾਤਿਮਨਸੌਮੁਨਿਕਹਾ॥੧੮੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਮੁਨੀ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਰਿਆ ॥੧੮੮॥
There he saw a carder carding cotton and said thus in hiss mind188
ਭੂਪਸੈਨਇਹਜਾਤਨਲਹੀ॥
(ਕਿ ਇਸ ਪੇਂਜੇ) ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਕ ਨਹੀਂ,
ਗ੍ਰੀਵਾਨੀਚਨੀਚਹੀਰਹੀ॥
(ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ ਲਗੇ ਦੀ) ਗਰਦਨ ਨੀਵੀਂ ਦੀ ਨੀਵੀਂ ਹੀ ਰਹੀ।
“This man has not seen all the army passing in front of him and his neck remained bowed
ਸਗਲਸੈਨਵਾਹੀਮਗਗਈ॥
ਸਾਰੀ ਫੌਜ ਉਸ ਰਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਲੰਘ ਗਈ,
ਤਾਕੌਨੈਕੁਖਬਰਨਹੀਭਈ॥੧੮੯॥
(ਪਰ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਜਿੰਨੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ ॥੧੮੯॥
The whole army went on this path, but he was not conscious of that.”189.
ਰੂਈਧੁਨਖਤੋਫਿਰਿਨਨਿਹਾਰਾ॥
ਰੂੰ ਪਿੰਜਦੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਫਿਰ ਕੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ,
ਨੀਚਹੀਗ੍ਰੀਵਾਰਹਾਬਿਚਾਰਾ॥
(ਉਸ) ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਦੀ ਗਰਦਨ ਨੀਵੀਂ ਹੀ ਰਹੀ।
While carding the cotton, he did not look back and this lowly person kept his neck bowed
ਦਤਬਿਲੋਕਿਹੀਏਮੁਸਕਾਨਾ॥
ਇਹ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਦੱਤ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਮੁਸਕਰਾਇਆ।
ਖਸਟਮਗੁਰੂਤਿਸੀਕਹੁਜਾਨਾ॥੧੯੦॥
ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਛੇਵਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਾਣ ਲਿਆ ॥੧੯੦॥
Seeing him, Dutt smiled in his mind and said, “I accept him as my sixth Guru.”190.
ਰੂਮਹੇਤਇਹਜਿਮਚਿਤੁਲਾਯੋ॥
ਰੂੰ (ਪਿੰਜਣ) ਲਈ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚਿਤ ਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ
ਸੈਨਗਈਪਰੁਸਿਰਨਉਚਾਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸੈਨਾ ਲੰਘ ਗਈ, ਪਰ (ਇਸ ਨੇ) ਸਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੁਕਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਤੈਸੀਏਪ੍ਰਭਸੌਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਲਗਈਐ॥
ਅਜਿਹੀ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਤਬਹੀਪੁਰਖਪੁਰਾਤਨਪਈਐ॥੧੯੧॥
ਤਦ ਹੀ (ਉਸ) ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੯੧॥
The way in which he absorbed his mind in cotton and the army passed away and he did not raise his head, in the same way, when the Lord will be loved, then that ancient Purusha i.e. the Lord will be realized.191.
ਇਤਿਰੂਈਧੁਨਖਤਾਪੇਾਂਜਾਖਸਟਮੋਗੁਰੂਸਮਾਪਤੰ॥੬॥

ਸੰਨਿਆਸ ਰਾਜ (ਦੱਤ) ਅਗੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰ ਪਿਆ
ਮਹਾਬਿਮਲਮਨਭਯੋਉਦਾਸਾ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ) ਮਹਾਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਰਕਤ ਹੈ।
That great ascetic Dutt, of the pure mind moved further
ਨਿਰਖਾਤਹਾਏਕਮਛਹਾ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਮਾਛੀ (ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਪਕੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ) ਵੇਖਿਆ
ਲਏਜਾਰਕਰਿਜਾਤਨਕਹਾ॥੧੯੨॥
(ਜੋ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਲ ਲਈ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ (ਜਿਸ ਦਾ) ਵਰਣਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧੯੨॥
There he saw a Fisherman going with his net.192.
ਬਿਨਛੀਏਕਹਾਥਮੋਧਾਰੇ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਕੁੰਡੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੋਟੀ ('ਬਿਨਛੀ') ਪਕੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।
ਜਰੀਆਅੰਧਕੰਧਪਰਡਾਰੇ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੋਢਿਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਜਾਲੀਆਂ ਧਰੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਸਨ
He was holding his lance in one of his hands and was carrying the net on one shoulder
ਇਸਥਿਤਏਕਮਛਿਕੀਆਸਾ॥
ਅਤੇ (ਮੱਛੀ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ) ਅੰਨ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ (ਚਲਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ)। ਉਹ ਇਕ ਮੱਛੀ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਵਿਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਸੀ,
ਜਾਨੁਕਵਾਕੇਮਧਨਸਾਸਾ॥੧੯੩॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ) ਮਾਨੋ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਹ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੧੯੩॥
He was standing there for the sake of the fish in such a way as if his body had become breathless.193.
ਏਕਸੁਠਾਢਮਛਕੀਆਸੂ॥
ਉਹ ਇਕ ਮੱਛੀ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਵਿਚ ਖੜੋਤਾ ਸੀ,
ਰਾਜਪਾਟਤੇਜਾਨਉਦਾਸੂ॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਰਾਜ ਪਾਟ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਵਿਰਕਤ ਸੀ।
He was standing with the desire of catching one fish in such a way as if someone standing with patience and detached from all his paraphernalia
ਇਹਬਿਧਿਨੇਹਨਾਥਸੌਲਈਐ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਲਾਈਏ,
ਤਬਹੀਪੂਰਨਪੁਰਖਕਹਪਈਐ॥੧੯੪॥
ਤਦ ਹੀ ਪਰਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੯੪॥
Dutt thought that if such a love was observed for the sake of the Lord, then that perfect Purusha i.e. the Lo

ਆਇਆ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ (ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ) ਸਾਕ, ਸੰਬੰਧ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
