ਤਾਮਹਿਮਗਨਹੋਤਨਤੇਰੋਜਨੁ॥੨॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਸੇਵਕ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਇਹਨਾਂ (ਪਰਦਿਆਂ) ਵਿਚ (ਹੁਣ) ਨਹੀਂ ਫਸਦਾ ॥੨॥
Your humble servant is not engrossed in them. ||2||
ਪ੍ਰੇਮਕੀਜੇਵਰੀਬਾਧਿਓਤੇਰੋਜਨ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੈਂ) ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਰੱਸੀ ਨਾਲ ਬੱਝਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ।
Your humble servant is tied by the rope of Your Love.
ਕਹਿਰਵਿਦਾਸਛੂਟਿਬੋਕਵਨਗੁਨ॥੩॥੪॥
ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ॥੩॥੪॥

The Lord, Har, Har, Har, Har, Har, Har, Haray.
ਹਰਿਸਿਮਰਤਜਨਗਏਨਿਸਤਰਿਤਰੇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਾਸ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Meditating on the Lord, the humble are carried across to salvation. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿਕੇਨਾਮਕਬੀਰਉਜਾਗਰ॥
ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਕਬੀਰ (ਭਗਤ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਹੋਇਆ,
Through the Lord's Name, Kabeer became famous and respected.
ਜਨਮਜਨਮਕੇਕਾਟੇਕਾਗਰ॥੧॥
ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੇਖੇ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਏ ॥੧॥
The accounts of his past incarnations were torn up. ||1||
ਨਿਮਤਨਾਮਦੇਉਦੂਧੁਪੀਆਇਆ॥
ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੀ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਨੇ (ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਰਾਇ) ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਧ ਪਿਆਇਆ ਸੀ,
Because of Naam Dayv's devotion, the Lord drank the milk he offered.
ਤਉਜਗਜਨਮਸੰਕਟਨਹੀਆਇਆ॥੨॥
ਤੇ, ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਿਆ ॥੨॥
He shall not have to suffer the pains of reincarnation into the world again. ||2||
ਜਨਰਵਿਦਾਸਰਾਮਰੰਗਿਰਾਤਾ॥
ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ (ਭੀ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
Servant Ravi Daas is imbued with the Lord's Love.
ਇਉਗੁਰਪਰਸਾਦਿਨਰਕਨਹੀਜਾਤਾ॥੩॥੫॥
ਇਸ ਰੰਗ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ, ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਨਰਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਏਗਾ ॥੩॥੫॥
By Guru's Grace, he shall not have to go to hell. ||3||5||
ਮਾਟੀਕੋਪੁਤਰਾਕੈਸੇਨਚਤੁਹੈ॥
(ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ) ਇਹ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਦਾ ਪੁਤਲਾ ਕੇਹਾ ਹਾਸੋ-ਹੀਣਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਨੱਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ (ਭਟਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ);
How does the puppet of clay dance?
ਦੇਖੈਦੇਖੈਸੁਨੈਬੋਲੈਦਉਰਿਓਫਿਰਤੁਹੈ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਮਾਇਆ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ) ਚਾਰ-ਚੁਫੇਰੇ ਢੂੰਢਦਾ ਹੈ; (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ) ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਸੁਣਨੀਆਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਲੱਗਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ), (ਮਾਇਆ ਕਮਾਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੀ) ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਹੀ) ਦੌੜਿਆ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
He looks and listens, hears and speaks, and runs around. ||1||Pause||
ਜਬਕਛੁਪਾਵੈਤਬਗਰਬੁਕਰਤੁਹੈ॥
ਜਦੋਂ (ਇਸ ਨੂੰ) ਕੁਝ ਧਨ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ (ਇਹ) ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ;
When he acquires something, he is inflated with ego.
ਮਾਇਆਗਈਤਬਰੋਵਨੁਲਗਤੁਹੈ॥੧॥
ਪਰ ਜੇ ਗੁਆਚ ਜਾਏ ਤਾਂ ਰੋਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
But when his wealth is gone, then he cries and bewails. ||1||
ਮਨਬਚਕ੍ਰਮਰਸਕਸਹਿਲੁਭਾਨਾ॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਬਚਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਕਰਤੂਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਚਸਕਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
In thought, word and deed, he is attached to the sweet and tangy flavors.
ਬਿਨਸਿਗਇਆਜਾਇਕਹੂੰਸਮਾਨਾ॥੨॥
(ਆਖ਼ਰ ਮੌਤ ਆਉਣ ਤੇ) ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਢਹਿ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੀਵ (ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਜਾ ਕੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਅਪੜਨ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ) ਕਿਤੇ ਕੁਥਾਂ ਹੀ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
When he dies, no one knows where he has gone. ||2||
ਕਹਿਰਵਿਦਾਸਬਾਜੀਜਗੁਭਾਈ॥
ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਜਗਤ ਇਕ ਖੇਡ ਹੀ ਹੈ,

ਬਾਜੀਗਰਸਉਮੋੁਹਿਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਬਨਿਆਈ॥੩॥੬॥

ਭ੍ਰਮਤਫਿਰਤਬਹੁਜਨਮਬਿਲਾਨੇਤਨੁਮਨੁਧਨੁਨਹੀਧੀਰੇ॥
(ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ) ਭਟਕਦਿਆਂ ਕਈ ਜਨਮ ਗੁਜ਼ਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਨ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਧਨ ਭੀ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ।
I wandered through countless incarnations, but mind, body and wealth never remain stable.
ਲਾਲਚਬਿਖੁਕਾਮਲੁਬਧਰਾਤਾਮਨਿਬਿਸਰੇਪ੍ਰਭਹੀਰੇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਲੋਭੀ ਜੀਵ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ-ਰੂਪ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਵਿਚ, ਕਾਮ-ਵਾਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਸਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Attached to, and stained by the poisons of sexual desire and greed, the mind has forgotten the jewel of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਬਿਖੁਫਲਮੀਠਲਗੇਮਨਬਉਰੇਚਾਰਬਿਚਾਰਨਜਾਨਿਆ॥
ਹੇ ਕਮਲੇ ਮਨ! ਇਹ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ-ਰੂਪ ਫਲ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਫੁਰਦੀ;
The poisonous fruit seems sweet to the demented mind, which does not know the difference between good and evil.
ਗੁਨਤੇਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਬਢੀਅਨਭਾਂਤੀਜਨਮਮਰਨਫਿਰਿਤਾਨਿਆ॥੧॥
ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਹੱਟ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਧ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਤਾਣਾ ਤਣਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
Turning away from virtue, his love for other things increases, and he weaves again the web of birth and death. ||1||
ਜੁਗਤਿਜਾਨਿਨਹੀਰਿਦੈਨਿਵਾਸੀਜਲਤਜਾਲਜਮਫੰਧਪਰੇ॥
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਜੁਗਤ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪੱਕੀ ਨਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ; ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਸੜਦੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਾਲ, ਜਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਫਾਹੇ ਪੈ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
He does not know the way to the Lord, who dwells within his heart; burning in the trap, he is caught by the noose of death.
ਬਿਖੁਫਲਸੰਚਿਭਰੇਮਨਐਸੇਪਰਮਪੁਰਖਪ੍ਰਭਮਨਬਿਸਰੇ॥੨॥
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ-ਰੂਪ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਫਲ ਹੀ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਂਭਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ, ਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਸਾਂਭਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਭੁੱਲ ਗਿਆ ॥੨॥
Gathering the poisonous fruits, he fills his mind with them, and he forgets God, the Supreme Being, from his mind. ||2||
ਗਿਆਨਪ੍ਰਵੇਸੁਗੁਰਹਿਧਨੁਦੀਆਧਿਆਨੁਮਾਨੁਮਨਏਕਮਏ॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼-ਰੂਪ ਧਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਗਈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਬਣ ਗਈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ-ਮਿੱਕ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ;
The Guru has given the wealth of spiritual wisdom; practicing meditation, the mind becomes one with Him.
ਪ੍ਰੇਮਭਗਤਿਮਾਨੀਸੁਖੁਜਾਨਿਆਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿਅਘਾਨੇਮੁਕਤਿਭਏ॥੩॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗੀ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੁਖ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣ ਗਈ, ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੱਜ ਗਿਆ, ਤੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋੰ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ॥੩॥
Embracing loving devotional worship for the Lord, I have come to know peace; satisfied and satiated, I have been liberated. ||3||
ਜੋਤਿਸਮਾਇਸਮਾਨੀਜਾਕੈਅਛਲੀਪ੍ਰਭੁਪਹਿਚਾਨਿਆ॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਜੋਤਿ ਟਿਕ ਗਈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਹ ਛਲੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਲਿਆ।
One who is filled with the Divine Light, recognizes the undeceivable Lord God.
ਧੰਨੈਧਨੁਪਾਇਆਧਰਣੀਧਰੁਮਿਲਿਜਨਸੰਤਸਮਾਨਿਆ॥੪॥੧॥
ਮੈਂ ਧੰਨੇ ਨੇ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰੂਪ ਧਨ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ; ਮੈਂ ਧੰਨਾ ਭੀ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੧॥
Dhanna has obtained the Lord, the Sustainer of the World, as his wealth; meeting the humble Saints, he merges in the Lord. ||4||1||

ਗੋਬਿੰਦਗੋਬਿੰਦਗੋਬਿੰਦਸੰਗਿਨਾਮਦੇਉਮਨੁਲੀਣਾ॥
(ਭਗਤ) ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।

ਆਢਦਾਮਕੋਛੀਪਰੋਹੋਇਓਲਾਖੀਣਾ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਉਸ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਅੱਧੀ ਕੌਡੀ ਦਾ ਗਰੀਬ ਛੀਂਬਾ, (ਮਾਨੋ) ਲਖਪਤੀ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਨਾਹ ਰਹੀ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
The calico-printer, worth half a shell, became worth millions. ||1||Pause||
ਬੁਨਨਾਤਨਨਾਤਿਆਗਿਕੈਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਚਰਨਕਬੀਰਾ॥
(ਕੱਪੜਾ) ਉਣਨ (ਤਾਣਾ) ਤਣਨ (ਦੀ ਲਗਨ) ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਕਬੀਰ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਨ ਲਾ ਲਈ;
Abandoning weaving and stretching thread, Kabeer enshrined love for the Lord's lotus feet.
ਨੀਚਕੁਲਾਜੋਲਾਹਰਾਭਇਓਗੁਨੀਯਗਹੀਰਾ॥੧॥
ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤਿ ਦਾ ਗਰੀਬ ਜੁਲਾਹਾ ਸੀ, ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ॥੧॥
A weaver from a lowly family, he became an ocean of excellence. ||1||
ਰਵਿਦਾਸੁਢੁਵੰਤਾਢੋਰਨੀਤਿਤਿਨਿਤਿਆਗੀਮਾਇਆ॥
ਰਵਿਦਾਸ (ਪਹਿਲਾਂ) ਨਿੱਤ ਮੋਏ ਹੋਏ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਢੋਂਦਾ ਸੀ, (ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ) ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਾਇਆ (ਦਾ ਮੋਹ) ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
Ravi Daas, who used to carry dead cows every day, renounced the world of Maya.
ਪਰਗਟੁਹੋਆਸਾਧਸੰਗਿਹਰਿਦਰਸਨੁਪਾਇਆ॥੨॥
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਉੱਘਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ॥੨॥
He became famous in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and obtained the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan. ||2||
ਸੈਨੁਨਾਈਬੁਤਕਾਰੀਆਓਹੁਘਰਿਘਰਿਸੁਨਿਆ॥
ਸੈਣ (ਜਾਤਿ ਦਾ) ਨਾਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੁੱਤੀਆਂ ਕੱਢਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਘਰ ਘਰ ਸੋਭਾ ਹੋ ਤੁਰੀ,
Sain, the barber, the village drudge, became famous in each and every house.
ਹਿਰਦੇਵਸਿਆਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁਭਗਤਾਮਹਿਗਨਿਆ॥੩॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵੱਸ ਪਿਆ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਗਿਣਿਆ ਜਾਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ ॥੩॥
The Supreme Lord God dwelled in his heart, and he was counted among the devotees. ||3||
