ਰੋਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਦਵਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਲਈ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
Administering the medicines to all the world, he made the world devoid of ailments,
ਕਾਲਪਾਇਤਛਕਹਨਿਯੋਸੁਰਪੁਰਕੀਯੋਪਯਾਨ॥੬॥
ਸਮਾਂ ਪਾ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਤੱਛਕ ਨੇ (ਡੰਗ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ) ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਸੁਅਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਕੂਚ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੬॥
And departed for heaven after having been stung by Takshak (the king of snakes).6.

ਅਰਿਅਨੇਕਜੀਤੇਜਿਨਜਲਿਥਲਿ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵੈਰੀ ਜਲ-ਥਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਏ।
The might of demos, the sons of Diti, increased very much and they conquered many enemies in water and on land.
ਕਾਲਪੁਰਖਕੀਆਗਯਾਪਾਈ॥
(ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ) 'ਕਾਲ-ਪੁਰਖ' ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਕੇ
ਰਵਿਅਵਤਾਰਧਰਿਯੋਹਰਿਰਾਈ॥੧॥
ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੧॥
Receiving the command of the Immanent Lord, Vishnu manifested himself as Suraj incarnation.1.
ਜੇਜੇਹੋਤਅਸੁਰਬਲਵਾਨਾ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ-ਜਿਹੜੇ ਦੈਂਤ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਰਵਿਮਾਰਤਤਿਨਕੋਬਿਧਿਨਾਨਾ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਰਜ ਅਨੇਕ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Wherever the demons become Lord, Vishnu manifested himself as Suraj incarnation kills them in different ways.
ਅੰਧਕਾਰਧਰਨੀਤੇਹਰੇ॥
ਧਰਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਜਾਕਾਜਗ੍ਰਿਹਕੇਉਠਿਪਰੇ॥੨॥
(ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ) ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
The sun destroyed the darkness from the earth and in order to give comfort to the subjects, he used to roam hither and thither.2.

ਬਿਸਾਰਿਆਲਸੰਸਭੈਪ੍ਰਭਾਤਲੋਗਜਾਗਹੀਂ॥
ਆਲਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਜਾਗਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਅਨੰਤਜਾਪਕੋਜਪੈਂਬਿਅੰਤਧਯਾਨਪਾਗਹੀਂ॥
ਬੇਅੰਤ (ਲੋਕ) ਜਪ ਨੂੰ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਸ਼ੁਮਾਰ ਲੋਕ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
(Seeing the Sun,) all the people abandoned idleness and woke up at dawn and meditating on the Omnipresent Lord, used to repeat His Name in various ways.
ਦੁਰੰਤਕਰਮਕੋਕਰੈਂਅਥਾਪਥਾਪਥਾਪਹੀਂ॥
ਔਖੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਨ ਥਾਪੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਗਾਇਤ੍ਰੀਸੰਧਿਯਾਨਕੈਅਜਾਪਜਾਪਜਾਪਹੀ॥੩॥
ਸੰਧਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਾਇਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਅਜਪਾ-ਜਾਪ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
Working on difficult jobs, they used to stablise in their mind the Uninstallable Lord and used to recite the Gyatri and Sandhya.3.
ਸੁਦੇਵਕਰਮਆਦਿਲੈਪ੍ਰਭਾਤਜਾਗਕੈਕਰੈਂ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਜਾਗ ਕੇ (ਲੋਕੀਂ) ਦੇਵ-ਕਰਮ ਆਦਿਕ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸੁਜਗਧੂਪਦੀਪਹੋਮਬੇਦਬਿਯਾਕਰਨਰਰੈਂ॥
ਯੱਗ, ਧੂਪ, ਦੀਪ, ਹੋਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਵੈਦ ਤੇ ਵਿਆਕਰਨ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਹਨ।
All the people, repeating the name of the Lord, used to perform godly deeds and also reflected on the Vedas and Vyakarna etc. alongwith the burning of incense, lighting the earthen lamps and performing Yajnas.
ਸੁਪਿਤ੍ਰਕਰਮਹੈਂਜਿਤੇਸੋਬ੍ਰਿਤਬ੍ਰਿਤਕੋਕਰੈਂ॥
ਜਿੰਨੇ ਪਿਤਰੀ ਕਰਮ ਹਨ, (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਵਿਧੀ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜੁਸਾਸਤ੍ਰਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿਉਚਰੰਤਸੁਧਰਮਧਯਾਨਕੋਧਰੈਂ॥੪॥
ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਧਰਮ ਵਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਲਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥
They used to perform rituals for the manes according to their power and used to concentrate on virtuous actions alongwith the recitation of Shastras, Smritis etc.4.

ਸੁਧੂੰਮਧੂੰਮਹੀ॥
ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਹਵਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਧੂੰਆਂ ਹੀ ਧੂੰਆਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਕਰੰਤਸੈਨਭੂੰਮਹੀ॥
ਅਤੇ (ਲੋਕ) ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੌਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The smoke of Yajnas was visible on all the four sides and all the people slept on the earth.
ਬਿਅੰਤਧਯਾਨਧਯਾਵਹੀਂ॥
ਬੇਅੰਤ ਲੋਕ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਦੁਰੰਤਠਉਰਪਾਵਹੀਂ॥੫॥
ਬੜੀ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲ ਨਾਲ (ਮਿਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ) ਧਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੫॥
Performing mediation and worship in many ways, they used to work for the growth of distant places.5.
ਅਨੰਤਮੰਤ੍ਰਉਚਰੈਂ॥
ਅਨੰਤ ਮੰਤਰ ਉਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ
ਸੁਜੋਗਜਾਪਨਾਕਰੈਂ॥
ਅਤੇ ਯੋਗ ਜਪ-ਤਪ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Reciting many mantras, the people performed Yogic discipline and repeated the Name.
ਨ੍ਰਿਬਾਨਪੁਰਖਧਯਾਵਹੀਂ॥
ਨਿਰਬਾਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਿਮਾਨਅੰਤਿਪਾਵਹੀਂ॥੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤ ਵੇਲੇ (ਦੇਵ ਪਦਵੀ ਪਾਣ ਲਈ) ਵਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੬॥
They meditated on the Detached Supreme Purusha and ultimately they acquired the air-vehicles for transportation to heaven.6.

ਧਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੀਤ ਗਿਆ।
ਬਹੁਰਿਅਸੁਰਿਬਢਿਯੋਪ੍ਰਬਲਦੀਰਘੁਕਾਇਦਤੁਮਾਨ॥੭॥
ਫਿਰ ਇਕ ਦੈਂਤ ਨੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਫੜਿਆ, (ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ) 'ਦੀਰਘ-ਕਾਇ' ਸੀ ਅਤੇ (ਜੋ) ਵੱਡੇ ਤੇਜ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ ॥੭॥
In this way a good deal of time elapsed in performing religious and charitable actions and then a powerful demon named deeraghkaya was born.7.

ਬਾਣਪ੍ਰਜੰਤਬਢਤਨਿਤਪ੍ਰਤਿਤਨ॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਇਕ ਬਾਣ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਧਦਾ ਸੀ
ਨਿਸਦਿਨਘਾਤਕਰਤਦਿਜਦੇਵਨ॥
ਅਤੇ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।
His body increased in length everyday by the length of an arrow and he destroyed the gods and twice-born night and day.
ਦੀਰਘੁਕਾਇਐਸੋਰਿਪੁਭਯੋ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੀਰਘ-ਕਾਇ (ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰਾਖਸ਼ ਸੂਰਜ ਦਾ) ਵੈਰੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ,
ਰਵਿਰਥਹਟਕਚਲਨਤੇਗਯੋ॥੮॥
(ਅਤੇ) ਸੂਰਜ ਦਾ ਰਥ ਚਲਣੋਂ ਰੁਕ ਗਿਆ ॥੮॥
On the birth of the enemy like deeraghkaya, even the chariot of the sun hesitated to move.8.

ਹਟਕਚਲਤਰਥੁਭਯੋਭਾਨਕੋਪਿਯੋਤਬੈ॥
ਸੂਰਜ ਦਾ ਚਲਦਾ-ਚਲਦਾ ਰਥ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਟਕ ਗਿਆ, ਤਦੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਆਇਆ।
ਅਸਤ੍ਰਸਸਤ੍ਰਲੈਚਲਿਯੋਸੰਗਲੈਦਲਸਭੈ॥
ਉਹ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਚਲ ਪਿਆ।
When the chariot of the sun stopped moving, the sun, then in great fury, marched forward alongwith his arms, weapons and forces.
ਮੰਡਯੋਬਿਬਿਧਪ੍ਰਕਾਰਤਹਾਰਣਜਾਇਕੈ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਢੰਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
ਹੋਨਿਰਖਦੇਵਅਰੁਦੈਤਰਹੇਉਰਝਾਇਕੈ॥੯॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੈਂਤ ਵੀ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਗ ਗਏ ॥੯॥
He started various types of war seeing which both gods and demons, experienced a dilemma.9.
ਗਹਿਗਹਿਪਾਣਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣਦੁਬਹੀਯਾਰਣਭਿਰੇ॥
ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਫੜ-ਫੜ ਕੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ।
