ਸੰਤਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿਜਨਮਮਰਣਤੇਛੋਟ॥੧॥
ਗੁਰੂ-ਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ (ਦੇ ਚੱਕਰ) ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
By the Grace of the Saints, one is released from birth and death. ||1||
ਸੰਤਕਾਦਰਸੁਪੂਰਨਇਸਨਾਨੁ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ-ਸੰਤ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ (ਹੀ) ਮੁਕੰਮਲ (ਤੀਰਥ-) ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਹੈ।
The Blessed Vision of the Saints is the perfect cleansing bath.
ਸੰਤਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਤੇਜਪੀਐਨਾਮੁ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਗੁਰੂ-ਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
By the Grace of the Saints, one comes to chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਸੰਤਕੈਸੰਗਿਮਿਟਿਆਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ-ਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਰਿਹਾਂ) ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
In the Society of the Saints, egotism is shed,
ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਆਵੈਸਭੁਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ॥੨॥
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਨਜ਼ਰੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
and the One Lord is seen everywhere. ||2||
ਸੰਤਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਆਏਵਸਿਪੰਚਾ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ-ਸੰਤ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ, (ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ) ਪੰਜੇ (ਦੂਤ) ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
By the pleasure of the Saints, the five passions are overpowered,
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁਨਾਮੁਰਿਦੈਲੈਸੰਚਾ॥੩॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
and the heart is irrigated with the Ambrosial Naam. ||3||
ਕਹੁਨਾਨਕਜਾਕਾਪੂਰਾਕਰਮ॥
(ਪਰ) ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ (ਚੰਗੀ) ਕਿਸਮਤਿ ਹੋਵੇ,
Says Nanak, one whose karma is perfect,
ਤਿਸੁਭੇਟੇਸਾਧੂਕੇਚਰਨ॥੪॥੪੬॥੧੧੫॥
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ (ਹੀ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ (ਪਰਸਣੇ) ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੪੬॥੧੧੫॥
touches the feet of the Holy. ||4||46||115||
ਗਉੜੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Gauree, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਹਰਿਗੁਣਜਪਤਕਮਲੁਪਰਗਾਸੈ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ (ਹਿਰਦਾ-) ਕੌਲ-ਫੁੱਲ ਖਿੜ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Meditating on the Glories of the Lord, the heart-lotus blossoms radiantly.
ਹਰਿਸਿਮਰਤਤ੍ਰਾਸਸਭਨਾਸੈ॥੧॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
Remembering the Lord in meditation, all fears are dispelled. ||1||
ਸਾਮਤਿਪੂਰੀਜਿਤੁਹਰਿਗੁਣਗਾਵੈ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਉਹੀ ਅਕਲ ਉਕਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਸਮਝੋ, ਜਿਸ ਅਕਲ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Perfect is that intellect, by which the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung.
ਵਡੈਭਾਗਿਸਾਧੂਸੰਗੁਪਾਵੈ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਪਰ ਇਹ ਅਕਲ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ) ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
By great good fortune, one finds the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿਪਾਈਐਨਿਧਿਨਾਮਾ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
In the Saadh Sangat, the treasure of the Name is obtained.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿਪੂਰਨਸਭਿਕਾਮਾ॥੨॥
ਤੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
In the Saadh Sangat, all one's works are brought to fruition. ||2||
ਹਰਿਕੀਭਗਤਿਜਨਮੁਪਰਵਾਣੁ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Through devotion to the Lord, one's life is approved.
ਗੁਰਕਿਰਪਾਤੇਨਾਮੁਵਖਾਣੁ॥੩॥
(ਪਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਨਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਹੀ) ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
By Guru's Grace, one chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||3||
ਕਹੁਨਾਨਕਸੋਜਨੁਪਰਵਾਨੁ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- (ਸਿਰਫ਼) ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ) ਕਬੂਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
Says Nanak, that humble being is accepted,
ਜਾਕੈਰਿਦੈਵਸੈਭਗਵਾਨੁ॥੪॥੪੭॥੧੧੬॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਸਦਾ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੪੭॥੧੧੬॥
within whose heart the Lord God abides. ||4||47||116||
ਗਉੜੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Gauree, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਏਕਸੁਸਿਉਜਾਕਾਮਨੁਰਾਤਾ॥
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
Those whose minds are imbued with the One Lord,
ਵਿਸਰੀਤਿਸੈਪਰਾਈਤਾਤਾ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਈਰਖਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
forget to feel jealous of others. ||1||
ਬਿਨੁਗੋਬਿੰਦਨਦੀਸੈਕੋਈ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ) ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ (ਦੂਜਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ।
They see none other than the Lord of the Universe.
ਕਰਨਕਰਾਵਨਕਰਤਾਸੋਈ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਉਹੀ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕਰਾਣ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
The Creator is the Doer, the Cause of causes. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨਹਿਕਮਾਵੈਮੁਖਿਹਰਿਹਰਿਬੋਲੈ॥
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਮਨ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
Those who work willingly, and chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har
ਸੋਜਨੁਇਤਉਤਕਤਹਿਨਡੋਲੈ॥੨॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਸੁੱਚੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੋਂ) ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਡੋਲਦਾ, ਨਾਹ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ॥੨॥
- they do not waver, here or hereafter. ||2||
ਜਾਕੈਹਰਿਧਨੁਸੋਸਚਸਾਹੁ॥
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਐਸਾ ਸ਼ਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those who possess the wealth of the Lord are the true bankers.
ਗੁਰਿਪੂਰੈਕਰਿਦੀਨੋਵਿਸਾਹੁ॥੩॥
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਸਾਖ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
The Perfect Guru has established their line of credit. ||3||
ਜੀਵਨਪੁਰਖੁਮਿਲਿਆਹਰਿਰਾਇਆ॥
ਆਖ-(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ,
The Giver of life, the Sovereign Lord King meets them.
ਕਹੁਨਾਨਕਪਰਮਪਦੁਪਾਇਆ॥੪॥੪੮॥੧੧੭॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸਨੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੪੮॥੧੧੭॥
Says Nanak, they attain the supreme status. ||4||48||117||
ਗਉੜੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Gauree, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਨਾਮੁਭਗਤਕੈਪ੍ਰਾਨਅਧਾਰੁ॥
ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ,
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the Support of the breath of life of His devotees.
ਨਾਮੋਧਨੁਨਾਮੋਬਿਉਹਾਰੁ॥੧॥
ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਧਨ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ (ਅਸਲੀ) ਵਣਜ-ਵਪਾਰ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
The Naam is their wealth, the Naam is their occupation. ||1||
ਨਾਮਵਡਾਈਜਨੁਸੋਭਾਪਾਏ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ; ਸੋਭਾ ਖੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ,
By the greatness of the Naam, His humble servants are blessed with glory.
ਕਰਿਕਿਰਪਾਜਿਸੁਆਪਿਦਿਵਾਏ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਪਰ ਇਹ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਉਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ) ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ (ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਦਿਵਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
The Lord Himself bestows it, in His Mercy. ||1||Pause||
ਨਾਮੁਭਗਤਕੈਸੁਖਅਸਥਾਨੁ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਭਗਤ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਵਸੀਲਾ ਹੈ।
The Naam is the home of peace of His devotees.
ਨਾਮਰਤੁਸੋਭਗਤੁਪਰਵਾਨੁ॥੨॥
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਭਗਤ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਕਬੂਲ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
Attuned to the Naam, His devotees are approved. ||2||
ਹਰਿਕਾਨਾਮੁਜਨਕਉਧਾਰੈ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
The Name of the Lord is the support of His humble servants.
ਸਾਸਿਸਾਸਿਜਨੁਨਾਮੁਸਮਾਰੈ॥੩॥
ਸੇਵਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਕ ਇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਸਾਂਭ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
With each and every breath, they remember the Naam. ||3||
ਕਹੁਨਾਨਕਜਿਸੁਪੂਰਾਭਾਗੁ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
Says Nanak, those who have perfect destiny
ਨਾਮਸੰਗਿਤਾਕਾਮਨੁਲਾਗੁ॥੪॥੪੯॥੧੧੮॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ (ਹੀ) ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਚਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੪੯॥੧੧੮॥
- their minds are attached to the Naam. ||4||49||118||

Gauree, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਸੰਤਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿਹਰਿਨਾਮੁਧਿਆਇਆ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ) ਗੁਰੂ-ਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ,
By the Grace of the Saints, I meditated on the Name of the Lord.
ਤਬਤੇਧਾਵਤੁਮਨੁਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਇਆ॥੧॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਦੌੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ (ਮੇਰਾ) ਮਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
Since then, my restless mind has been satisfied. ||1||
ਸੁਖਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੁਪਾਇਆਗੁਣਗਾਇ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ (ਉਹ) ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦਾ ਦਾਤਾ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
I have obtained the home of peace, singing His Glorious Praises.
ਸ੍ਰਮੁਮਿਟਿਆਮੇਰੀਹਤੀਬਲਾਇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਹੁਣ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਮੇਰੀ) ਦੌੜ-ਭੱਜ ਮਿਟ ਗਈ ਹੈ, (ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ) ਬਲਾ ਮਰ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
My troubles have ended, and the demon has been destroyed. ||1||Pause||
ਚਰਨਕਮਲਅਰਾਧਿਭਗਵੰਤਾ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰ ਕੇ,
Worship and adore the Lotus Feet of the Lord God.
ਹਰਿਸਿਮਰਨਤੇਮਿਟੀਮੇਰੀਚਿੰਤਾ॥੨॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ (ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ) ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਿਟ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, my anxiety has come to an end. ||2||
ਸਭਤਜਿਅਨਾਥੁਏਕਸਰਣਿਆਇਓ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ) ਮੈਂ ਅਨਾਥ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਗਿਆ,
I have renounced all - I am an orphan. I have come to the Sanctuary of the One Lord.
ਊਚਅਸਥਾਨੁਤਬਸਹਜੇਪਾਇਓ॥੩॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਸਭ (ਟਿਕਾਣਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ) ਉੱਚਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ॥੩॥
Since then, I have found the highest celestial home. ||3||
ਦੂਖੁਦਰਦੁਭਰਮੁਭਉਨਸਿਆ॥
(ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ) ਦੁੱਖ-ਦਰਦ, ਭਟਕਣ ਤੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ,
My pains, troubles, doubts and fears are gone.
ਕਰਣਹਾਰੁਨਾਨਕਮਨਿਬਸਿਆ॥੪॥੫੦॥੧੧੯॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੫੦॥੧੧੯॥
The Creator Lord abides in Nanak's mind. ||4||50||119||

ਕਰਕਰਿਟਹਲਰਸਨਾਗੁਣਗਾਵਉ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਸਦਕਾ) ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ (ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
With my hands I do His work; with my tongue I sing His Glorious Praises.
