ਕਿਪਿਨਹਾਨਮਾਦਅਸਤਆਮਦਬਰੂੰ॥੫੪॥
ਲੁਕਾਇਆਂ ਲੁਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਬਾਹਰ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੫੪॥
Could not remain hidden and, in due course, were revealed.(54)
ਬਸ਼ਹਰਅੰਦਰੂੰਗਸ਼ਤਸ਼ੁਹਰਤਪਜ਼ੀਰ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਧੁੰਮ ਗਈ
The news spread in the city like a wild fire,
ਕਿਆਜ਼ਾਦਹੇਸ਼ਾਹੁਵਦੁਖ਼ਤਰਵਜ਼ੀਰ॥੫੫॥
ਕਿ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਲੜਕਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਦੀ ਲੜਕੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੫੫॥
That the son of the king and the daughter of the minister are openly in love.(55)
ਸ਼ੁਨੀਦਈਂਸੁਖ਼ਨਸ਼ਹਿਦੁਕਿਸ਼ਤੀਬੁਖਾਦ॥
ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਦੋ ਬੇੜੀਆਂ ਮੰਗਵਾਈਆਂ
When the King heard this news, he asked for two boats.
ਜੁਦਾਬਰਜੁਦਾਹਰਦੁਕਿਸ਼ਤੀਨਿਸ਼ਾਦ॥੫੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਬੇੜੀ ਵਿਚ ਬਿਠਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੫੬॥
He put them both in separate ferries.(56)
ਰਵਾਕਰਦਓਰਾਬਦਰੀਯਾਅਜ਼ੀਮ॥
(ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੇ ਦਰਿਆ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
He let loose both of them in the deep river,
ਦੁਕਿਸ਼ਤੀਯਕੇਸ਼ੁਦਹਮਹਮੌਜਬੀਮ॥੫੭॥
ਪਰ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਿਆਂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੫੭॥
But through the waves both the vessels joined together.(57)
ਦੁਕਿਸ਼ਤੀਯਕੇਗਸ਼ਤਬਹੁਕਮੇਅਲਾਹ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨਾਲ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀਆਂ ਇਕ ਥਾਂ ਇਕੱਠੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ
By the grace of God, both were reunited,
ਬਯਕਜਾਦਰਾਮਦਹੁਮਾਸ਼ਮਸ਼ਮਾਹ॥੫੮॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਸੂਰਜ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਇਕ ਥਾਂ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੫੮॥
And both, like the sun and the moon, were amalgamated.(58)
ਬੁਬੀਂਕੁਦਰਤੇਕਿਰਦਗਾਰੇਅਲਾਹ॥
ਉਸ ਕਰਨ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਮਰਥ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖੋ
Look at the creation of Allah, the God Almighty,
ਦੁਤਨਰਾਯਕੇਕਰਦਅਜ਼ਹੁਕਮਸ਼ਾਹਿ॥੫੯॥
ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨਾਲ ਦੋ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਇਕ ਹੋ ਗਏ ॥੫੯॥
Through His order He merges the two bodies into one.(59)
ਦੁਕਿਸ਼ਤੀਦਰਾਮਦਬਯਕਜਾਦੁਤਨ॥
ਦੋ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਖੋ ਵਖ ਆਏ ਦੋ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਇਕ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਆ ਗਏ।
United into one from two boats were two bodies,
ਚਰਾਗ਼ੇਜਹਾਆਫ਼ਤਾਬੇਯਮਨ॥੬੦॥
ਇਕ ਜਹਾਨ ਦਾ ਦੀਪਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਯਮਨ ਦਾ ਸੂਰਜ ਹੈ ॥੬੦॥
Of which one was light of Arabia and the other the moon of Yaman.(60)
ਬਿਰਫ਼ਤੰਦਕਿਸ਼ਤੀਬਦਰੀਯਾਇਗਾਰ॥
ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਤੁਰ ਪਈ ਅਤੇ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਦਰਿਆ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਈ।
The boats had floated and entered into the deep waters.
ਬਮੌਜਅੰਦਰਆਮਦਚੁਬਰਗੇਬਹਾਰ॥੬੧॥
ਬਸੰਤ ਰੁਤ ਦੇ ਪੱਤੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਹ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਘਿਰ ਗਈ ॥੬੧॥
And in the water they came floating like the spring leaves.(61)
ਯਕੇਅਜ਼ਦਹਾਬੂਦਆਂਜਾਨਿਸ਼ਸਤ॥
ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਇਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਸੱਪ ('ਅਜ਼ਦਹਾ') ਬੈਠਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
There, sat a huge snake,
ਬਖ਼ੁਰਦਨਦਰਾਮਦਵਜ਼ਾਕਰਦਜਸਤ॥੬੨॥
ਉਹ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਝਪਟਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ॥੬੨॥
Which pounced forward to eat them.(62)
ਦਿਗ਼ਰਪੇਸ਼ਤਰਬੂਦਕਹਰੇਬਲਾ॥
ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸਿਓਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਇਕ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਬਲਾ ਆ ਗਈ।
From the other end appeared a ghost,
ਦੁਦਸਤਸ਼ਸਤੂੰਕਰਦਬੇਸਰਨੁਮਾ॥੬੩॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਖੰਭਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੱਥ ਖੜੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਿਰ ਦੇ ਦਿਸ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਸੀ ॥੬੩॥
Who raised her hands, which looked like headless pillars.(63)
ਮਿਯਾਰਫ਼ਤਸ਼ੁਦਕਿਸ਼ਤੀਏਹਰਦੁਦਸਤ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਉਦੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਗਈ
The boat slipped through under the protection of the hands,
ਬਨੇਸ੍ਵੇਦਮਾਨਦਅਜ਼ੋਮਾਰਮਸਤ॥੬੪॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਮਸਤ ਸੱਪ ਨੇ ਬਲਾ ਨੂੰ ਡੰਗ ਮਾਰਿਆ ॥੬੪॥
And they both escaped the hidden intention of the snake,(64)
ਗਰਿਫ਼ਤੰਦਓਰਾਬਦਸਤਅੰਦਰੂੰ॥
ਬਲਾ ਨੇ ਸੱਪ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਪਕੜ ਲਿਆ।
Which (the snake) had intended to catch them to suck (them).
ਬਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਦਓਰਾਨਖ਼ੁਰਦੰਦਖ਼ੂੰ॥੬੫॥
ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ (ਸੱਪ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਾ) ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਖਾ ਸਕੇ ॥੬੫॥
But the All Benevolent saved their blood.(65)
ਚੁਨਾਜੰਗਸ਼ੁਦਅਜ਼ਦਹਾਬਾਬਲਾ॥
ਉਸ ਸੱਪ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਾ ਵਿਚ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਲੜਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਕਿ ਖ਼ੁਦਾ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨਾਲ
A war between snake and ghost was imminent,
ਕਿਬੇਰੂੰਨਿਆਮਦਬਹੁਕਮੇਖ਼ੁਦਾ॥੬੬॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ (ਦਰਿਆ ਤੋਂ) ਬਾਹਰ ਨਾ ਆਏ (ਅਰਥਾਤ-ਡੁਬ ਗਏ) ॥੬੬॥
But, by God’s grace, it did not occur.(66)
ਚੁਨਾਮੌਜਖ਼ੇਜ਼ਦਜਿਦਰੀਯਾਅਜ਼ੀਮ॥
ਉਸ ਵੱਡੇ ਦਰਿਆ ਵਿਚ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਉਠੀਆਂ
High waves sprung from the great river,
ਕਿਦੀਗਰਨਦਾਨਿਸਤਜੁਜ਼ਯਕਕਰੀਮ॥੬੭॥
ਕਿ ਉਸ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੬੭॥
And this secret, except God, no body could acquiesce.(67)
ਰਵਾਗਸ਼ਤਕਿਸ਼ਤੀਬਮੌਜੇਬਲਾ॥
ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਚਲ ਪਈ।
The rowing boat was struck with the high waves,
ਬਰਾਹੇਖ਼ਲਾਸੀਜ਼ਿਰਹਮਤਖ਼ੁਦਾ॥੬੮॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਲਈ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ॥੬੮॥
And the incumbents prayed for escape.(68)
ਬਆਖ਼ਰਹਮਅਜ਼ਹੁਕਮਪਰਵਰਦਿਗਾਰ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨਾਲ
At the end with the will of God, the Almighty,
ਕਿਕਿਸ਼ਤੀਬਰਆਮਦਜ਼ਿਦਰੀਯਾਕਿਨਾਰ॥੬੯॥
ਉਹ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਦਰਿਆ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੰਢੇ ਉਤੇ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚੀ ॥੬੯॥
The boat reached the safety of the bank.(69)
ਕਿਬੇਰੂੰਬਰਾਮਦਅਜ਼ਾਹਰਦੁਤਨ॥
ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਆ ਗਏ
ਨਿਸ਼ਸਤਹਲਬੇਆਬਦਰੀਯਾਯਮਨ॥੭੦॥
ਅਤੇ ਯਮਨ ਦੇ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਉਪਰ ਬੈਠ ਗਏ ॥੭੦॥
ਬਰਾਮਦਯਕੇਸ਼ੇਰਦੀਦਨਸ਼ਿਤਾਬ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਸ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ
Both of them came out of the boat,
ਬਖ਼ੁਰਦਨਅਜ਼ਾਹਰਦੁਤਨਰਾਕਬਾਬ॥੭੧॥
ਇਕ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਜਲਦੀ ਨਾਲ ਆਇਆ ॥੭੧॥
And sat down on the banks of the river.(71)
ਜ਼ਿਦਰੀਯਾਬਰਆਮਦਜ਼ਿਮਗਰੇਅਜ਼ੀਮ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ
Suddenly an alligator jumped out,
ਖ਼ੁਰਮਹਰਦੁਤਨਰਾਬਹੁਕਮੇਕਰੀਮ॥੭੨॥
ਦਰਿਆ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਮਗਰਮੱਛ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ ॥੭੨॥
To eat them both as if it was God’s will.(72)
ਬਜਾਇਸ਼ਦਰਾਮਦਜ਼ਿਸ਼ੇਰੇਸ਼ਿਤਾਬ॥
ਉਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਉਤੇ ਜਲਦੀ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ
Suddenly a lion appeared and it jumped ahead,
ਗਜ਼ੰਦਸ਼ਹਮੀਬੁਰਦਬਰਰੋਦਆਬ॥੭੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਗਰਮਛ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਛਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੭੩॥
It lunged over the water of the stream.(73)
ਬਪੇਚੀਦਸਰਓਖ਼ਤਾਗਸ਼ਤਸ਼ੇਰ॥
ਸ਼ੇਰ ਦੇ ਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਿਰ ਪਰੇ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ
They turned their heads, lion’s attack was deflected,
ਬਦਹਨੇਦਿਗ਼ਰਦੁਸ਼ਮਨਅਫ਼ਤਦਦਲੇਰ॥੭੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਉਸ ਦੂਜੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਪਿਆ ॥੭੪॥
And its futile bravery put (lion) in other’s (alligator’s) mouth.(74)
ਬਗੀਰਦਮਗਰਦਸਤਸ਼ੇਰੋਸ਼ਿਤਾਬ॥
ਮਗਰਮੱਛ ਨੇ ਤੁਰਤ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਪਕੜ ਲਿਆ
The alligator caught half of lion with its paw,
ਬਬੁਰਦੰਦਓਰਾਕਸ਼ੀਦਹਦਰਆਬ॥੭੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਖਿਚ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ ॥੭੫॥
And dragged him into the deep water.(75)
ਬੁਬੀਂਕੁਦਰਤੇਕਿਰਦਗਾਰੇਜਹਾ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖੋ
Look at the creations of the Creator of the Universe,
ਕਿਈਂਰਾਬਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਦਕੁਸਤਸ਼ਅਜ਼ਾ॥੭੬॥
ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਰਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੭੬॥
(He) endowed them life and annihilated the lion.(76)
ਬਿਰਫ਼ਤੰਦਹਰਦੋਬਹੁਕਮੇਅਮੀਰ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਅਗੇ ਚਲ ਪਏ।
Both embarked to act according the will of God,
ਯਕੇਸ਼ਾਹਜ਼ਾਦਹਬਦੁਖ਼ਤਰਵਜ਼ੀਰ॥੭੭॥
ਇਕ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਲੜਕਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੀ ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਦੀ ਬੇਟੀ ਸੀ ॥੭੭॥
One was King’s son and the other Minister’s daughter.(77)
ਬਿਅਫ਼ਤਾਦਹਰਦੋਬਦਸਤੇਅਜ਼ੀਮ॥
ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਇਕ ਵੱਡੇ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ,
They both occupied a derelict place to relax,
