ਬਿਯਾਮਦਕਜ਼ੋਜਾਇਓਖ਼ੁਫ਼ਤਹਦੀਦ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦਾਸੀ ਨਾਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਰਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ) ਸੁੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਵੇਖਿਆ
Instantly he came to the palace of the queen,
ਜ਼ਿਸਰਤਾਕਦਮਹਮਚੁਮਿਹਰਸ਼ਤਪੀਦ॥੨੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਤਕ ਸੂਰਜ ਵਾਂਗ ਤਪ ਗਿਆ ॥੨੭॥
And seeing them in the same bed, became inflammable like the sun.(27)
ਬਿਦਾਨਦਕਿਈਂਰਾਖ਼ਬਰਦਾਰਸ਼ੁਦ॥
ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨੇ (ਮੇਰੀ ਨੀਅਤ) ਨੂੰ ਭਾਂਪ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
The king assumed that she had discerned his intentions,
ਬਰੋਜ਼ੇਅਜ਼ਾਈਂਖ਼ਬਰਦਾਰਸ਼ੁਦ॥੨੮॥
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਖ਼ਬਰਦਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੨੮॥
And had become very cautious.(28)
ਬਿਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਪੀਦਯਕਜਾਯਕੇਖ਼ਾਬਗਾਹ॥
ਇਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਇਕੋ ਥਾਂ ਇਕੱਠੀਆਂ ਸੁੱਤੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
That is why they went into sleep at the same place and in the same bed.
ਮਰਾਦਾਵਅਫ਼ਤਦਨਯਜ਼ਦਾਗਵਾਹ॥੨੯॥
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਦਾਓ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦਾ। ਖ਼ੁਦਾ ਗਵਾਹ ਹੈ ॥੨੯॥
‘God forbid, she made my attempt impossible.(29)
ਜੁਦਾਗਰਬੁਬੀਂਨਮਅਜ਼ਈਂਖ਼ਾਬਗਾਹ॥
ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਜੇ ਸੌਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਖਰਾ ਵੇਖ ਲਵਾਂ,
‘If I had found her alone in the bedroom,
ਯਕੇਜੁਫ਼ਤਬਾਸ਼ਮਚੁਖ਼ੁਰਸ਼ੈਦਮਾਹ॥੩੦॥
ਤਾਂ ਮਸਿਆ ਦੀ ਰਾਤ ਵਾਂਗ ਸੂਰਜ ਤੇ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਜਾਵਾਂ ॥੩੦॥
‘I would have at once clung to her as the moon merged into the sun.’(30)
ਵਜ਼ਾਰੋਜ਼ਗਸ਼ਤਹਬਿਯਾਮਦਦਿਗਰ॥
ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ। ਦੂਜੇ ਦਿਨ ਫਿਰ ਆਇਆ।
The king returned that night lamenting,
ਹੁਮਾਖ਼ੁਫ਼ਤਹਦੀਦੰਯਕੇਜਾਬਬਰ॥੩੧॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਲਵਕੜੀ ਪਾਏ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ ॥੩੧॥
And the second day again he saw them sleeping in the same style.(31)
ਦਰੇਗ਼ਾਅਜ਼ੀਂਗਰਜੁਦਾਯਾਫ਼ਤਮ॥
ਖੇਦ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ (ਰਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ) ਅਲਗ ਵੇਖ ਲੈਂਦਾ
‘Had I found her sleeping alone,
ਯਕੇਹਮਲਹਚੂੰਸ਼ੇਰਨਰਸਾਖ਼ਤਮ॥੩੨॥
ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਉਤੇ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਇਕੋ ਵਾਰ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ॥੩੨॥
‘I would have pounced upon her like a lion.’(32)
ਦਿਗ਼ਰਰੋਜ਼ਰਫ਼ਤਸ਼ਸਿਯਮਆਮਦਸ਼॥
ਦੂਜੇ ਦਿਨ ਵੀ ਪਰਤ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਜੇ ਦਿਨ (ਫਿਰ) ਆਇਆ।
He went away on the second day and again appeared on the third day.
ਬਦੀਦੰਦਯਕਜਾਇਬਰਤਾਫ਼ਤਸ਼॥੩੩॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੋ ਥਾਂ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੁੜ ਗਿਆ ॥੩੩॥
As usual, seeing them together he departed.(33)
ਬਰੋਜ਼ੇਚੁਆਮਦਬਦੀਦੰਦਜੁਫ਼ਤ॥
ਚੌਥੇ ਦਿਨ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਇਕੱਠਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
On the fourth day they were joined together again.
ਬਹੈਰਤਫ਼ਰੋਰਫ਼ਤਬਾਦਿਲਬਿਗੁਫ਼ਤ॥੩੪॥
ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪਰਤ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗਾ ॥੩੪॥
He hung his head in astonishment and thought,(34)
ਕਿਹੈਫ਼ਅਸਤਆਂਰਾਜੁਦਾਯਾਫ਼ਤਮ॥
ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਵਖਰਿਆਂ ਵੇਖ ਲੈਂਦਾ
‘Alas, if I had found her alone,
ਕਿਤੀਰੇਕਮਾਅੰਦਰੂੰਸਾਖ਼ਤਮ॥੩੫॥
ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਤੀਰ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ॥੩੫॥
‘I would have easily fixed arrow into her bow.’(35)
ਨਦੀਦੇਮਦੁਸ਼ਮਨਨਦੋਜ਼ਨਬਤੀਰ॥
ਮੈਂ ਨਾ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਰੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
‘Neither I got hold of the enemy, nor could I pierce an arrow,
ਨਕੁਸ਼ਤਮਅਦੂਰਾਨਕਰਦਮਅਸੀਰ॥੩੬॥
ਨਾ ਉਸ ਮਾੜੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਕੈਦ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੩੬॥
‘Neither I killed the enemy nor I captivated him.’(36)
ਸ਼ਸ਼ਮਰੋਜ਼ਆਮਦਬਦੀਦਹਵਜ਼ਾ॥
ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਛੇਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
On the sixth day when he came he saw her sleeping with the queen in the similar manner.
ਬਪੇਚਸ਼ਦਰਾਵਖ਼ਤਗੁਫ਼ਤਅਜ਼ਜ਼ੁਬਾ॥੩੭॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਟ ਖਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਬਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਇੰਜ ਕਿਹਾ ॥੩੭॥
He was extremely up set and said to himself,(37)
ਨਦੀਦੇਮਦੁਸ਼ਮਨਕਿਰੇਜ਼ੇਮਖ਼ੂੰ॥
ਮੈਂ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਕਤਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਟੋਟੇ ਟੋਟੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।
‘If I don’t see my enemy, I won’t make him to shed his blood.
ਦਰੇਗਾਨਕੈਬਰਕਮਾਅੰਦਰੂੰ॥੩੮॥
ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕਮਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਤੀਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਖ ਸਕਿਆ ॥੩੮॥
‘Alas, I cannot keep my arrow contained in my bow.(38)
ਦਰੇਗ਼ਾਬਦੁਸ਼ਮਨਨਆਵੇਖ਼ਤਮ॥
ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਬਗ਼ਲਗੀਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ।
‘And alas, I could not embrace the foe,
ਦਰੇਗਾਨਾਬਾਯਕਦਿਗ਼ਰਰੇਖ਼ਤਮ॥੩੯॥
ਖੇਦ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਡਿਗੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ ॥੩੯॥
‘And neither could we copulate each other.’(39)
ਹਕੀਕਤਸ਼ਨਾਸ਼ਦਨਹਾਲੇਦਿਗਰ॥
ਦੂਜੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੋਚ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਹਕੀਕਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ।
Blind in love he did not try to acquiesce the reality.
ਕਿਮਾਯਲਬਸੇਗਸ਼ਤਓਤਾਬਸਰ॥੪੦॥
ਉਹ ਸਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਤਕ ਮੋਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਚੁਕਿਆ ਸੀ ॥੪੦॥
Neither, in excitement, he cared to learn the truth.(40)
ਬੁਬੀਂਬੇਖ਼ਬਰਰਾਚਕਾਰੇਕੁਨਦ॥
ਉਸ ਬੇਖ਼ਬਰ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਵਲ ਵੇਖੋ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
Look, unaware what this king was doing,
ਕਿਕਾਰੇਬਦਸ਼ਇਖ਼ਤਯਾਰੇਕੁਨਦ॥੪੧॥
ਜੋ ਮਾੜਾ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪੧॥
And was scheming to revel in such vices.(41)
ਬੁਬੀਂਬੇਖ਼ਬਰਬਦਖ਼ਰਾਸ਼ੀਕੁਨਦ॥
ਵੇਖੋ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੂਰਖ ਕਿਤਨਾ ਦੁਖਦਾਇਕ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
Look, an ignorant scratches his head,
ਕਿਬੇਆਬਸਰਖ਼ੁਦਤਰਾਸ਼ੀਕੁਨਦ॥੪੨॥
ਬਿਨਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਮੁੰਨਵਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੪੨॥
And without wetting it, he shaves it.(42)
ਬਿਦਿਹਸਾਕੀਯਾਜਾਮਸਬਜ਼ੇਮਰਾ॥
ਹੇ ਸਾਕੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹਰੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲਾ (ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਦਾ) ਪਿਆਲਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼
(The poet says,) ‘Oh the Saki, give me my green cup,
ਕਿਸਰਬਸਤਹਮਨਗੰਜਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਮਤੁਰਾ॥੪੩॥
ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਦਾ ਭਰਿਆ ਪੂਰਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਅਰਪਿਤ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ ॥੪੩॥
‘So that without any infringement, I get the understanding.(43)
ਬਿਦਿਹਸਾਕੀਯਾ੧ਸਾਗ਼ਰੇਸਬਜ਼ਫ਼ਾਮ॥
ਹੇ ਸਾਕੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹਰੇ ਰੰਗ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼
‘And give me the cup full of green (liquid),
ਕਿਖ਼ਸਮਅਫ਼ਕਨੋਵਕਤਹਸਤਸ਼ਬਕਾਮ॥੪੪॥੯॥
ਜੋ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਹਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਆਵੇ ॥੪੪॥੯॥
‘Which helps to destroy the enemies.(44)(9)
ੴਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂਜੀਕੀਫ਼ਤਹ॥
The Lord is One and the Victory is of the True Guru.
ਗ਼ਫ਼ੂਰੋਗ਼ੁਨਹਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਗ਼ਾਫ਼ਲਕੁਸ਼ਅਸਤ॥
ਦਯਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਗੁਨਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਰੱਬ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਨਕਰ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
You are the benevolent, pardoner of sins, and destroyer,
ਜਹਾਰਾਤੁਈਂਬਸਤੁਈਂਬੰਦੁਬਸਤ॥੧॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੀ ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥
Whatever is there in the universe, is all your creation.(1)
ਨਪਿਸਰੋਨਮਾਦਰਬਿਰਾਦਰਪਿਦਰ॥
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ, ਨਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾ ਮਾਤਾ, ਨਾ ਭਰਾ ਹੈ,
Neither you favour sons, nor brothers,
ਨਦਾਮਾਦੁਦੁਸ਼ਮਨਨਯਾਰੇਦਿਗਰ॥੨॥
ਨਾ ਜਵਾਈ ਹੈ, ਨਾ ਵੈਰੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਯਾਰ ਹੈ। (ਉਸ ਵਰਗਾ) ਕੋਈ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
Neither son-in-laws, nor enemies, nor friends,(2)
ਸ਼ੁਨੀਦਮਸੁਖ਼ਨਸ਼ਾਹਿਮਾਯੰਦਰਾ॥
ਮੈਂ ਮਾਯੰਦਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਸੁਣੀ ਹੈ,
Listen to the tale of the King of Mayindra,
ਕਿਰੌਸ਼ਨਦਿਲੋਨਾਮਰੌਸ਼ਨਜ਼ਮਾ॥੩॥
ਜੋ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਦਿਲ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ॥੩॥
Who was knowledgeable and was renown all over the world.(3)
ਕਿਨਾਮਸ਼ਵਜ਼ੀਰਸਤਸਾਹਿਬਸ਼ਊਰ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੂਝਵਾਨ ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ 'ਸਾਹਿਬ' ਸੀ,
He had a very intelligent person as his minister.
ਕਿਸਾਹਿਬਦਿਮਾਗ਼ਅਸਤਜ਼ਾਹਰਜ਼ਹੂਰ॥੪॥
ਜੋ ਚੰਗੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ ॥੪॥
Who was very shrewd and impressive.(4)
ਕਿਪਿਸਰੇਅਜ਼ਾਬੂਦਰੌਸ਼ਨਜ਼ਮੀਰ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ 'ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਜ਼ਮੀਰ' ਸੀ।
He (the Minister?) was blessed with a son, whose thinking was logical too,
ਕਿਹੁਸਨਲਜਮਾਲਅਸਤਸਾਹਿਬਅਮੀਰ॥੫॥
ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਸੀ ॥੫॥
Not only handsome, (his son) possessed brilliant qualities.(5)
ਕਿਰੌਸ਼ਨਦਿਲੇਸ਼ਾਹਿਓਨਾਮਬੂਦ॥
ਉਸ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ 'ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਦਿਲ' ਸੀ।
He was known as a person with courageous heart,
