ਗੁਨਹਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਤੋਮਨਖ਼ਤਾਕਰਦਹਅਮ॥
ਮੈਂ ਗ਼ਲਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦੇ।
‘I have perpetrated, please forgive me,
ਕਿਏਜਿਗਰਜਾਮਨਗ਼ੁਲਾਮੇਤੁਅਮ॥੩੯॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ-ਪਿਆਰੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮ ਹਾਂ ॥੩੯॥
‘I will remain your slave.’(39)
ਬਗੁਫ਼ਤਾਗਰਈਂਰਾਜਹਪਾਸਦਕੁਸ਼ਮ॥
(ਔਰਤ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਇਸ਼ਾਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ) ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗੀ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਪੰਜ ਸੌ ਰਾਜੇ ਵੀ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਆਂ,
She soliloquised, ‘If I kill five hundred Rajas like him,
ਨਕਾਜ਼ੀਮਰਾਜ਼ਿੰਦਹਦਸਤਆਮਦਮ॥੪੦॥
ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੪੦॥
‘Even then Quazi will not come to life.’(40)
ਕਿਓਕੁਸ਼ਤਹਗਸ਼ਤਹਚਰਾਈਂਕੁਸ਼ਮ॥
ਉਹ (ਕਾਜ਼ੀ) ਤਾਂ ਮਰ ਹੀ ਗਿਆ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਲਈ ਮਾਰਾਂ।
‘Now when Quazi is dead, why should I kill him too?
ਕਿਖ਼ੂਨੇਅਜ਼ੀਂਬਰਸਰੇਖ਼ੁਦਕੁਨਮ॥੪੧॥
ਇਸ ਦੇ ਖ਼ੂਨ ਦਾ ਭਾਰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਲਵਾਂ ॥੪੧॥
‘Why should I take the curse of killing him upon myself?(41)
ਚਿਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਤਰਕਿਈਂਰਾਖ਼ਲਾਸੀਦਿਹਮ॥
ਚੰਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਲਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂ
‘Wouldn’t it be better if I let him go free,
ਵਮਨਹਜ਼ਰਤੇਕਾਬਹਅਲਹਰਵਮ॥੪੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਘਰ ਕਾਬੇ ਵਲ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਵਾਂ ॥੪੨॥
‘And proceed on pilgrimage to Kabah at Mecca.’(42)
ਬਗੁਫ਼ਤਈਂਸੁਖਨਰਾਵਕਰਦਸ਼ਖ਼ਲਾਸ॥
(ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੇ) ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ
Saying so, she let loose him,
ਬਖ਼ਾਨਹਖ਼ੁਦਆਮਦਜਮੈਕਰਦਖ਼ਾਸ॥੪੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ॥੪੩॥
Then she went home and collected a few prominent people.(43)
ਬੁਬਸਤੰਦਬਾਰੋਤਯਾਰੀਕੁਨਦ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਚਲਣ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰ ਲਈ।
She gathered her goods, got ready and preyed,
ਕਿਏਜ਼ਦਮਰਾਕਾਮਗਾਰੀਦਿਹਦ॥੪੪॥
(ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗੀ) ਰੱਬ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰੇ ॥੪੪॥
‘Please God, help me to fulfil my ambition.(44)
ਦਰੇਗ਼ਅਜ਼ਕਬਾਯਲਜੁਦਾਮੇਸ਼ਵਮ॥
ਖੇਦ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੜ ਰਹੀ ਹਾਂ।
‘I regret that I am going away from my fraternity,
ਅਗਰਜ਼ਿੰਦਹਬਾਸ਼ਮਬਬਾਜ਼ਆਮਦਮ॥੪੫॥
ਜੇ ਜੀਉਂਦੀ ਰਹੀ, ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਪਰਤ ਆਵਾਂਗੀ ॥੪੫॥
‘If I remain alive, I may come back.’(45)
ਮਤਾਏਨਕਦਜਿਨਸਰਾਬਾਰਬਸਤ॥
ਗਹਿਣੇ, ਨਕਦ ਧਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਜਿਨਸਾਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਈਆਂ
She put all her money, jewellery and other precious articles in the bundles,
ਰਵਾਨਹਸੂਏਕਾਬਹਤਅਲਹਸ਼ੁਦਅਸਤ॥੪੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਕਾਬੇ ਵਲ ਤੁਰ ਪਈ ॥੪੬॥
‘And commenced her journey towards the House of Allah at Kabah.‘(46)
ਚੁਬੇਰੂੰਬਰਾਮਦਦੁਸੇਮੰਜ਼ਲਸ਼॥
ਜਦ ਉਹ ਦੋ ਤਿੰਨ ਮੰਜ਼ਲਾਂ (ਪੜਾਓ) ਬਾਹਰ ਆ ਗਈ,
When she had covered three stages of her voyage,
ਬਯਾਦਆਮਦਹਖ਼ਾਨਹਜ਼ਾਦੋਸਤਸ਼॥੪੭॥
ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਆਈ ॥੪੭॥
She thought of the house of her friend (Raja).(47)
ਬੁਬਾਜ਼ਆਮਦਹਨੀਮਸ਼ਬਖ਼ਾਨਹਆਂ॥
ਉਹ ਅੱਧੀ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਲ ਪਰਤ ਆਈ
At midnight, she returned to his house,
ਚਿਨਿਆਮਤਅਜ਼ੀਮੋਚਿਦਉਲਤਗਿਰਾ॥੪੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮਹਿੰਗੀਆਂ ਨਿਆਮਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਦੌਲਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਆਈ ॥੪੮॥
Along with all sort of gifts and souvenirs.(48)
ਬਿਦਾਨਿਸਤਆਲਮਕੁਜ਼ਾਜਾਇਗਸ਼ਤ॥
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਪਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਿਥੇ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
The people of the world never realised, where had she gone.
ਚਿਦਾਨਦਕਿਕਸਹਾਲਬਰਸਰਗੁਜ਼ਸ਼ਤ॥੪੯॥
ਉਹ ਕੀ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਕੀ ਬੀਤ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੪੯॥
And no body cared what state of affairs she had been passing through?(49)
ਬਿਦਿਹਸਾਕੀਯਾਪ੍ਯਾਲਹਫ਼ੇਰੋਜ਼ਫ਼ਾਮ॥
ਹੇ ਸਾਕੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹਰੇ ਰੰਗ (ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ) ਦਾ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ
(The poet says), ‘Oh! Saki, Give me the cup full of green (liquid),
ਕਿਮਾਰਾਬਕਾਰਅਸਤਦਰਵਕਤਤੁਆਮ॥੫੦॥
ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਲਈ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫੦॥
‘Which I need at the time of my nourishment.(50)
ਬਮਨਦਿਹਕਿਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਤਰਦਿਮਾਗ਼ੇਕੁਨਮ॥
ਇਹ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਸੋਚ ਸਕਾਂ
‘Give it to me so that I can contemplate,
ਕਿਰੌਸ਼ਨਤਬੈਚੂੰਚਰਾਗ਼ੇਕੁਨਮ॥੫੧॥੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਦੀਵੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ ॥੫੧॥੫॥
‘As it kindles my thought like an earthen-lamp.’(51)(5)
ੴਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂਜੀਕੀਫ਼ਤਹ॥
The Lord is One and the Victory is of the True Guru.
ਖ਼ੁਦਾਵੰਦਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿੰਦਹੇਦਿਲਕੁਸ਼ਾਇ॥
ਖ਼ੁਦਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਦਿਲ (ਦੀਆਂ ਗੁੰਝਲਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
God, Almighty is benevolent in forgiveness,
ਰਜ਼ਾਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਰੋਜ਼ੀਦਿਹੋਰਹਿਨੁਮਾਇ॥੧॥
ਰਜ਼ਾ (ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ) ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਰੋਜ਼ੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਥ-ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
He is Enlightener, Provider and Guide.(1)
ਨਫ਼ਉਜੋਨਫ਼ਰਸ਼ੋਨਫ਼ਰਰੋਨਫ਼ੂਰ॥
ਉਸ ਪਾਸ ਨਾ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਹੈ, ਨਾ ਗ਼ਲੀਚੇ ਹਨ, ਨਾ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਨੌਕਰ।
Neither He has an army nor luxurious living (no servants, no rugs and no materials).
ਖ਼ੁਦਾਵੰਦਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿੰਦਹਜ਼ਾਹਰਜ਼ਹੂਰ॥੨॥
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
God, the Compassionate, is visible and manifested.(2)
ਹਿਕਾਯਤਸ਼ੁਨੀਦੇਮਦੁਖ਼ਤਰਵਜ਼ੀਰ॥
ਅਸੀਂ ਇਕ ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਦੀ ਪੁੱਤਰੀ ਦੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਸੁਣੀ ਹੈ
Now, please listen to the tale of the daughter of a minister.
ਕਿਹੁਸਨਲਜਮਾਲਅਸਤਰੌਸ਼ਨਜ਼ਮੀਰ॥੩॥
ਜੋ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੁਸੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਲਮੰਦ ਸੀ ॥੩॥
She was very pretty and possessed an enlightened mind.(3)
ਵਜਾਕੈਸਰੋਸ਼ਾਹਿਰੂਮੀਕੁਲਾਹ॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ 'ਕੇਸਰ' ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਰੂਮੀ ਟੋਪ ਸੀ,
There lived a wandering Prince who had adorned himself with Cap (of honour) from Rome.
ਦਰਖ਼ਸ਼ਿੰਦਹਸ਼ਮਸ਼ੋਚੁਰਖ਼ਸਿੰਦਹਮਾਹ॥੪॥
ਉਹ ਤੇਜ ਵਜੋਂ ਸੂਰਜ ਵਰਗਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਸੀ ॥੪॥
His splendour matched the sun but his nature was as serene as the Moon.(4)
ਯਕੇਰੋਜ਼ਰੌਸ਼ਨਬਰਾਮਦਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ॥
ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਹੋਣ ਤੇ (ਉਹ) ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਲਈ ਨਿਕਲ ਪਿਆ।
Once, early in the morning he went out hunting.
ਹਮਹਯੂਜ਼ਅਜ਼ਬਾਜ਼ਵਬਹਰੀਹਜ਼ਾਰ॥੫॥
ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਚਿਤਰੇ, ਬਾਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਬਹਿਰੀ (ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰੀ ਪੰਛੀ) ਸਨ ॥੫॥
He took with him a hound, a falcon and a hawk.(5)
ਬਪਹਿਨਅੰਦਰਆਮਦਬਨਖ਼ਜ਼ੀਰਗਾਹ॥
ਉਹ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਖੇਡਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਆਇਆ।
He reached a desolate place of hunting.
ਬਿਜ਼ਦਗੇਰਆਹੂਬਸੇਸ਼ੇਰਸ਼ਾਹ॥੬॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਾਰਾਸਿੰਗੇ, ਹਿਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਮਾਰੇ ॥੬॥
The Prince killed the lions, leopards and deer.(6)
ਦਿਗ਼ਰਸ਼ਾਹਮਗ਼ਰਬਦਰਆਮਦਦਲੇਰ॥
ਇਸੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਥੇ ਇਕ ਪੱਛਮ ਦਾ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਆ ਗਿਆ। ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਦਲੇਰ ਸੀ,
There came another Raja from the South,
ਚੁਰਖ਼ਸ਼ਿੰਦਹਮਾਹੋਚੁਗ਼ੁਰਰਿੰਦਹਸ਼ੇਰ॥੭॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਵਰਗੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਗਰਜ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਵਰਗੀ ਸੀ ॥੭॥
Who roared like a lion and his face gleamed like the moon.(7)
ਦੁਸ਼ਾਹੇਦਰਾਮਦਯਕੇਜਾਇਸਖ਼ਤ॥
ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਇਕ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸਥਾਨ ਉਤੇ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ।
Both the rulers had approached an intricate terrain.
ਕਿਰਾਤੇਗ਼ਯਾਰੀਦਿਹਦਨੇਕਬਖ਼ਤ॥੮॥
ਨੇਕ ਸਿਤਾਰੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਯਾਰੀ ਪਾਲਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੮॥
Are not the lucky ones only rescued through their swords?(8)
ਕਿਰਾਰੋਜ਼ਇਕਬਾਲਯਾਰੀਦਿਹਦ॥
(ਵੇਖੀਏ) ਅਜ ਦਾ ਭਾਗਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਦਿਨ ਕਿਸ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ
Doesn’t an auspicious day facilitate one?
ਕਿਯਜ਼ਦਾਕਿਰਾਕਾਮਗਾਰੀਦਿਹਦ॥੯॥
ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੯॥
Who is endowed aid by the God of gods?(9)
ਬਜੁੰਬਸ਼ਦਰਾਮਦਦੁਸ਼ਾਹੇਦਲੇਰ॥
ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਕ੍ਰਿਆਸ਼ੀਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ
Both the rulers (seeing each other) flew in the rage,
ਕਿਬਰਆਹੂਏਯਕਬਰਾਮਦਦੁਸ਼ੇਰ॥੧੦॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਦੋ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਇਕ ਹਿਰਨ ਉਤੇ ਟੁਟ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੦॥
Like the two lions that sprawl over a hunted deer.(10)
ਬਗੁਰਰੀਦਨਆਮਦਦੁਅਬਰੇਸਿਯਾਹ॥
ਕਾਲੇ ਬਦਲਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਹ ਗਜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
Thundering like the black clouds both jumped forward.
