ਗੁਰਸਬਦੇਕੀਨਾਰਿਦੈਨਿਵਾਸੁ॥੩॥
(ਜਿਸ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
The Word of the Guru's Shabad has come to dwell within my heart. ||3||
ਗੁਰਸਮਰਥਸਦਾਦਇਆਲ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
The Guru is All-powerful and Merciful forever.
ਹਰਿਜਪਿਜਪਿਨਾਨਕਭਏਨਿਹਾਲ॥੪॥੧੧॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧੧॥
Chanting and meditating on the Lord, Nanak is exalted and enraptured. ||4||11||
ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Prabhaatee, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਗੁਰੁਗੁਰੁਕਰਤਸਦਾਸੁਖੁਪਾਇਆ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Chanting Guru, Guru, I have found eternal peace.
ਦੀਨਦਇਆਲਭਏਕਿਰਪਾਲਾਅਪਣਾਨਾਮੁਆਪਿਜਪਾਇਆ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪ ਜਪਣ ਲਈ (ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ) ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
God, Merciful to the meek, has become kind and compassionate; He has inspired me to chant His Name. ||1||Pause||
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਤਿਮਿਲਿਭਇਆਪ੍ਰਗਾਸ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਬੈਠਿਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਦਾ) ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Joining the Society of the Saints, I am illumined and enlightened.
ਹਰਿਹਰਿਜਪਤਪੂਰਨਭਈਆਸ॥੧॥
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ (ਹਰੇਕ) ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, my hopes have been fulfilled. ||1||
ਸਰਬਕਲਿਆਣਸੂਖਮਨਿਵੂਠੇ॥
(ਗੁਣ ਗਾਣ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ।
I am blessed with total salvation, and my mind is filled with peace.
ਹਰਿਗੁਣਗਾਏਗੁਰਨਾਨਕਤੂਠੇ॥੨॥੧੨॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ, ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੧੨॥
I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord; O Nanak, the Guru has been gracious to me. ||2||12||
ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀਮਹਲਾ੫ਘਰੁ੨ਬਿਭਾਸ॥
ਰਾਗ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀ/ਬਿਭਾਗ ਘਰ ੨ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ।
Prabhaatee, Fifth Mahalaa, Second House, Bibhaas:
ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਅਵਰੁਨਦੂਜਾਠਾਉ॥
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਦੂਜਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ,
There is no other place of rest,
ਨਾਹੀਬਿਨੁਹਰਿਨਾਉ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਸਹਾਰਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
none at all, without the Lord's Name.
ਸਰਬਸਿਧਿਕਲਿਆਨ॥
(ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਿਧੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਹਨ।
There is total success and salvation,
ਪੂਰਨਹੋਹਿਸਗਲਕਾਮ॥੧॥
(ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
and all affairs are perfectly resolved. ||1||
ਹਰਿਕੋਨਾਮੁਜਪੀਐਨੀਤ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਜਪਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
Constantly chant the Name of the Lord.
ਕਾਮਕ੍ਰੋਧਅਹੰਕਾਰੁਬਿਨਸੈਲਗੈਏਕੈਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ (ਆਦਿਕ ਹਰੇਕ ਵਿਕਾਰ) ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Sexuality, anger and egotism are wiped away; let yourself fall in love with the One Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਨਾਮਿਲਾਗੈਦੂਖੁਭਾਗੈਸਰਨਿਪਾਲਨਜੋਗੁ॥
(ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ) ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
Attached to the Naam, the Name of the Lord, pain runs away. In His Sanctuary, He cherishes and sustains us.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁਭੇਟੈਜਮੁਨਤੇਟੈਜਿਸੁਧੁਰਿਹੋਵੈਸੰਜੋਗੁ॥੨॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਧੁਰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ (ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ) ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਅਵਸਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ) ਜਮ (ਭੀ) ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੨॥
Whoever has such pre-ordained destiny meets with the True Guru; the Messenger of Death cannot grab him. ||2||
ਰੈਨਿਦਿਨਸੁਧਿਆਇਹਰਿਹਰਿਤਜਹੁਮਨਕੇਭਰਮ॥
(ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਭਟਕਣਾਂ ਛੱਡੋ, ਅਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦੇ ਰਹੋ।
Night and day, meditate on the Lord, Har, Har; abandon the doubts of your mind.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਹਰਿਮਿਲੈਜਿਸਹਿਪੂਰਨਕਰਮ॥੩॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
One who has perfect karma joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and meets the Lord. ||3||
ਜਨਮਜਨਮਬਿਖਾਦਬਿਨਸੇਰਾਖਿਲੀਨੇਆਪਿ॥
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆਂ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਦੁੱਖਾਂ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The sins of countless lifetimes are erased, and one is protected by the Lord Himself.
ਮਾਤਪਿਤਾਮੀਤਭਾਈਜਨਨਾਨਕਹਰਿਹਰਿਜਾਪਿ॥੪॥੧॥੧੩॥
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਭਰਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੩॥
He is our Mother, Father, Friend and Sibling; O servant Nanak, meditate on the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||1||13||
ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀਮਹਲਾ੫ਬਿਭਾਸਪੜਤਾਲ॥
ਰਾਗ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀ/ਬਿਭਾਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ 'ਪੜਤਾਲ'।
Prabhaatee, Fifth Mahalaa, Bibhaas, Partaal:
ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

Chant the Name of the Lord, Raam, Raam, Raam.
ਕਲਿਕਲੇਸਲੋਭਮੋਹਬਿਨਸਿਜਾਇਅਹੰਤਾਪ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਦੁੱਖ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਹਉਮੈ ਦਾ ਤਾਪ-(ਹਰੇਕ ਵਿਕਾਰ) ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Conflict, suffering, greed and emotional attachment shall be dispelled, and the fever of egotism shall be relieved. ||1||Pause||
ਆਪੁਤਿਆਗਿਸੰਤਚਰਨਲਾਗਿਮਨੁਪਵਿਤੁਜਾਹਿਪਾਪ॥੧॥
ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਹ, ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹੁ। (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ (ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ) ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
Renounce your selfishness, and grasp the feet of the Saints; your mind shall be sanctified, and your sins shall be taken away. ||1||
ਨਾਨਕੁਬਾਰਿਕੁਕਛੂਨਜਾਨੈਰਾਖਨਕਉਪ੍ਰਭੁਮਾਈਬਾਪ॥੨॥੧॥੧੪॥
ਨਾਨਕ (ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਇਕ) ਅੰਞਾਣ ਬੱਚਾ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਦਾ) ਕੋਈ ਢੰਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਚਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ (ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ) ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧॥੧੪॥
Nanak, the child, does not know anything at all. O God, please protect me; You are my Mother and Father. ||2||1||14||
ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Prabhaatee, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਚਰਨਕਮਲਸਰਨਿਟੇਕ॥
(ਤੇਰੇ) ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
I have taken the Shelter and Support of the Lord's Lotus Feet.
ਊਚਮੂਚਬੇਅੰਤੁਠਾਕੁਰੁਸਰਬਊਪਰਿਤੁਹੀਏਕ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਕ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ (ਰਾਖਾ) ਹੈਂ। ਤੂੰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਉੱਚਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
You are Lofty and Exalted, Grand and Infinite, O my Lord and Master; You alone are above all. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਾਨਅਧਾਰਦੁਖਬਿਦਾਰਦੈਨਹਾਰਬੁਧਿਬਿਬੇਕ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ) ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਚੰਗੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਕਰਮ ਦੀ ਪਰਖ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਕਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥
He is the Support of the breath of life, the Destroyer of pain, the Giver of discriminating understanding. ||1||
ਨਮਸਕਾਰਰਖਨਹਾਰਮਨਿਅਰਾਧਿਪ੍ਰਭੂਮੇਕ॥
ਸਿਰਫ਼ (ਉਸ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ, ਉਸ ਸਭ ਦੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਇਆ ਕਰੋ।
So bow down in respect to the Savior Lord; worship and adore the One God.
ਸੰਤਰੇਨੁਕਰਉਮਜਨੁਨਾਨਕਪਾਵੈਸੁਖਅਨੇਕ॥੨॥੨॥੧੫॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੈਂ (ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ) ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। (ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਤ-ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸੁਖ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੫॥
Bathing in the dust of the feet of the Saints, Nanak is blessed with countless comforts. ||2||2||15||
