ਕਾਨੜਾਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Kaanraa, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਐਸੀਕਉਨਬਿਧੇਦਰਸਨਪਰਸਨਾ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ) ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ (ਹੋ ਜਾਏ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਛੁਹ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ? ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
How may I obtain the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan? ||1||Pause||
ਆਸਪਿਆਸਸਫਲਮੂਰਤਿਉਮਗਿਹੀਉਤਰਸਨਾ॥੧॥
ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ-ਮੰਗੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ ਉਡੀਕ ਹੈ। ਉਮੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ (ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ) ਤਰਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
I hope and thirst for Your wish-fulfilling image; my heart yearns and longs for You. ||1||
ਦੀਨਲੀਨਪਿਆਸਮੀਨਸੰਤਨਾਹਰਿਸੰਤਨਾ॥
(ਉੱਤਰ:) ਜੇ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਢਹਿ ਪਈਏ (ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਇਤਨੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਮੱਛੀ ਨੂੰ (ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ) ਪਿਆਸ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
The meek and humble Saints are like thirsty fish; the Saints of the Lord are absorbed in Him.
ਹਰਿਸੰਤਨਾਕੀਰੇਨ॥
ਜੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ-
I am the dust of the feet of the Lord's Saints.
ਹੀਉਅਰਪਿਦੇਨ॥
ਆਪਣਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਭੇਟ ਕਰ ਦੇਈਏ,
I dedicate my heart to them.
ਪ੍ਰਭਭਏਹੈਕਿਰਪੇਨ॥
ਤਾਂ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
God has become Merciful to me.
ਮਾਨੁਮੋਹੁਤਿਆਗਿਛੋਡਿਓਤਉਨਾਨਕਹਰਿਜੀਉਭੇਟਨਾ॥੨॥੨॥੩੫॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਹ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਤਦੋਂ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੨॥੩੫॥
Renouncing pride and leaving behind emotional attachment, O Nanak, one meets with the Dear Lord. ||2||2||35||
ਕਾਨੜਾਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Kaanraa, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਰੰਗਾਰੰਗਰੰਗਨਕੇਰੰਗਾ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਇਸ ਜਗਤ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ)।
The Playful Lord imbues all with the Color of His Love.
ਕੀਟਹਸਤਪੂਰਨਸਭਸੰਗਾ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਕੀੜੀ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਤਕ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
From the ant to the elephant, He is permeating and pervading all. ||1||Pause||
ਬਰਤਨੇਮਤੀਰਥਸਹਿਤਗੰਗਾ॥
(ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ) ਕੋਈ ਵਰਤ ਨੇਮ ਰੱਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਗੰਗਾ ਸਮੇਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ;
Some go on fasts, make vows, and take pilgrimages to sacred shrines on the Ganges.
ਜਲੁਹੇਵਤਭੂਖਅਰੁਨੰਗਾ॥
ਕੋਈ (ਠੰਢੇ) ਪਾਣੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਫ਼ (ਦੀ ਠੰਢ ਸਹਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ), ਕੋਈ ਭੁੱਖਾਂ ਕੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ ਕੋਈ ਨੰਗਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ;
They stand naked in the water, enduring hunger and poverty.
ਪੂਜਾਚਾਰਕਰਤਮੇਲੰਗਾ॥
ਕੋਈ ਆਸਣ ਜਮਾ ਦੇ ਪੂਜਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ;
They sit cross-legged, perform worship services and do good deeds.
ਚਕ੍ਰਕਰਮਤਿਲਕਖਾਟੰਗਾ॥
ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਛੇ ਅੰਗਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਚੱਕਰ ਤਿਲਕ ਆਦਿਕ ਲਾਣ ਦੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
They apply religious symbols to their bodies, and ceremonial marks to their limbs.
ਦਰਸਨੁਭੇਟੇਬਿਨੁਸਤਸੰਗਾ॥੧॥
ਪਰ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਰਮ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹਨ) ॥੧॥
They read through the Shaastras, but they do not join the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation. ||1||
ਹਠਿਨਿਗ੍ਰਹਿਅਤਿਰਹਤਬਿਟੰਗਾ॥
(ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ) ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਠ ਨਾਲ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਦੇ ਜਤਨ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਰ ਪਰਨੇ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
They stubbornly practice ritualistic postures, standing on their heads.
ਹਉਰੋਗੁਬਿਆਪੈਚੁਕੈਨਭੰਗਾ॥
(ਪਰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਗੋਂ) ਹਉਮੈ ਦਾ ਰੋਗ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ) ਜ਼ੋਰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
They are afflicted with the disease of egotism, and their faults are not covered up.
ਕਾਮਕ੍ਰੋਧਅਤਿਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਜਰੰਗਾ॥
(ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ) ਤੋਟ ਮੁੱਕਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ (ਦੀ ਅੱਗ) ਵਿਚ ਸੜਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
They burn in the fire of sexual frustration, unresolved anger and compulsive desire.
ਸੋਮੁਕਤੁਨਾਨਕਜਿਸੁਸਤਿਗੁਰੁਚੰਗਾ॥੨॥੩॥੩੬॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਤੋਂ) ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬਚਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੩॥੩੬॥
He alone is liberated, O Nanak, whose True Guru is Good. ||2||3||36||
ਕਾਨੜਾਮਹਲਾ੫ਘਰੁ੭॥
ਰਾਗ ਕਾਨੜਾ, ਘਰ ੭ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ।
Kaanraa, Fifth Mahalaa, Seventh House:
ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਤਿਖਬੂਝਿਗਈਗਈਮਿਲਿਸਾਧਜਨਾ॥
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਉੱਕੀ ਹੀ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
My thirst has been quenched, meeting with the Holy.
ਪੰਚਭਾਗੇਚੋਰਸਹਜੇਸੁਖੈਨੋਹਰੇਗੁਨਗਾਵਤੀਗਾਵਤੀਗਾਵਤੀਦਰਸਪਿਆਰਿ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਬੜੇ ਹੀ ਸੌਖ ਨਾਲ (ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ) ਪੰਜੇ ਚੋਰ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਭੱਜ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
The five thieves have run away, and I am in peace and poise; singing, singing, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, I obtain the Blessed Vision of my Beloved. ||1||Pause||
ਜੈਸੀਕਰੀਪ੍ਰਭਮੋਸਿਉਮੋਸਿਉਐਸੀਹਉਕੈਸੇਕਰਉ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵੱਟੇ ਵਿਚ) ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ (ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ) ਮੈਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ?
That which God has done for me - how can I do that for Him in return?
ਹੀਉਤੁਮੑਾਰੇਬਲਿਬਲੇਬਲਿਬਲੇਬਲਿਗਈ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
I make my heart a sacrifice, a sacrifice, a sacrifice, a sacrifice, a sacrifice to You. ||1||
ਪਹਿਲੇਪੈਸੰਤਪਾਇਧਿਆਇਧਿਆਇਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਲਾਇ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਪਹਿਲਾਂ (ਤੇਰੇ) ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਪੈ ਕੇ (ਤੇ, ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ) ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ।
First, I fall at the feet of the Saints; I meditate, meditate, lovingly attuned to You.
ਪ੍ਰਭਥਾਨੁਤੇਰੋਕੇਹਰੋਜਿਤੁਜੰਤਨਕਰਿਬੀਚਾਰੁ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਉਹ ਥਾਂ ਬੜਾ ਹੀ ਅਸਚਰਜ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਿੱਥੇ (ਬੈਠ ਕੇ) ਤੂੰ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
O God, where is that Place, where You contemplate all Your beings?
ਅਨਿਕਦਾਸਕੀਰਤਿਕਰਹਿਤੁਹਾਰੀ॥
ਤੇਰੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Countless slaves sing Your Praises.
ਸੋਈਮਿਲਿਓਜੋਭਾਵਤੋਜਨਨਾਨਕਠਾਕੁਰਰਹਿਓਸਮਾਇ॥
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਹੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ! ਤੈਨੂੰ ਉਹੀ (ਦਾਸ) ਮਿਲ ਸਕਿਆ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਾ।
He alone meets You, who is pleasing to Your Will. Servant Nanak remains absorbed in his Lord and Master.
ਏਕਤੂਹੀਤੂਹੀਤੂਹੀ॥੨॥੧॥੩੭॥
ਹੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ! ਤੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈਂ, ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥੧॥੩੭॥
You, You, You alone, Lord. ||2||1||37||
ਕਾਨੜਾਮਹਲਾ੫ਘਰੁ੮॥
ਰਾਗ ਕਾਨੜਾ, ਘਰ ੮ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ।
Kaanraa, Fifth Mahalaa, Eighth House:
ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਤਿਆਗੀਐਗੁਮਾਨੁਮਾਨੁਪੇਖਤਾਦਇਆਲਲਾਲਹਾਂਹਾਂਮਨਚਰਨਰੇਨ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਮਾਣ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਦਇਆ-ਦਾ-ਘਰ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਸਾਡੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਕੰਮ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਮਨ! (ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ (ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੁ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Give up your pride and your self-conceit; the Loving, Merciful Lord is watching over all. O mind, become the dust of His Feet. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿਸੰਤਮੰਤਗੁਪਾਲਗਿਆਨਧਿਆਨ॥੧॥
ਹਰੀ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖ ॥੧॥
Through the Mantra of the Lord's Saints, experience the spiritual wisdom and meditation of the Lord of the World. ||1||
ਹਿਰਦੈਗੋਬਿੰਦਗਾਇਚਰਨਕਮਲਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਲਾਇਦੀਨਦਇਆਲਮੋਹਨਾ॥
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਸਦਾ) ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰ, ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੋਹਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖ।
Within your heart, sing the Praises of the Lord of the Universe, and be lovingly attuned to His Lotus Feet. He is the Fascinating Lord, Merciful to the meek and the humble.
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਦਇਆਮਇਆਧਾਰਿ॥
ਹੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਸਦਾ) ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ,
O Merciful Lord, please bless me with Your Kindness and Compassion.
ਨਾਨਕੁਮਾਗੈਨਾਮੁਦਾਨੁ॥
(ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ) ਨਾਨਕ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਰਾ) ਨਾਮ-ਦਾਨ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ,
Nanak begs for the Gift of the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਤਜਿਮੋਹੁਭਰਮੁਸਗਲਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ॥੨॥੧॥੩੮॥
(ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਮੋਹ ਭਰਮ ਤੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਮਾਣ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਇਹ ਦਾਤ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੨॥੧॥੩੮॥
I have abandoned emotional attachment, doubt and all egotistical pride. ||2||1||38||

Kaanraa, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਪ੍ਰਭਕਹਨਮਲਨਦਹਨਲਹਨਗੁਰਮਿਲੇਆਨਨਹੀਉਪਾਉ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਹੀ, ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਮੈਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਹੀਲਾ (ਇਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਦਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Speaking of God, filth and pollution are burnt away; This comes by meeting with the Guru, and not by any other efforts. ||1||Pause||
